The Saga: Successors

Disclaimer: I do not own Digimon. I own the concept of Ian.
Edit Authors Note: Spelling mistakes...oh the spelling. Plus, I developed Ai and Mako's personality more and gave some more background on Yu, the new leader of Hypnos.
Chapter 3: Ian's Haircut
In West Shinjuku, Japan, there was another hybrid sleeping in his room and drooling on the pillow. Although the man was actually twenty, he appeared to be sixteen. Ian Ramen, or commonly known as Impmon was participating in his favourite past time. Sleeping in.
While Lindy had to pleasure of handling her digimon side, Ian had to handle being human during the day. At first it sucked, something he first hated was now a part of him and he couldn't escape it. It would make him very pissed off to see the mirror and see a green eyed, blonde haired person staring back at him. However, he was not alone and Lindy being around him helped a lot considerably. As well, emotions were elevated when he was human. What he could normally contain to himself was simply impossible. Be that anger, love, and even yes, a few times he cried (when he was at Lindy's gave when she was presumed dead). After the whole Erika Rose fiasco, life had taken some time to get used to. He was dealing with a girlfriend, growing Tamers, and occasionally nightmares that he never dare tell anyone. During the therapy, he claimed it was Beelzewomon who was in his dreams, but that was a lie.
He was caught in a nightmare of when he killed Leomon, or was falling after trying to save Jeri from the D-Reaper kernel. He was not ready to share that with Lindy or the twins yet. His Tamers were still too young to understand what he had done and Lindy-he just could not bring it up yet. He loved her, dearly, but he had to be absolutely sure before telling her his deepest and darkest secret. Jeri respected his wishes, even though she didn't have to and supported him.
Yet, all that was slipping away. Ian was enjoying his sleeping and empty thoughts. The best thing was that he could have the whole bed to himself without sharing with Lindy. She had a tendency to hog the blankets. Yep, life is good at the moment he thought lazily relaxing in the bed. His messy blond hair was now tied in a small ponytail since he never wanted to chop it off, until today.
"Sh, careful." A brown haired girl around ten whispered, carrying scissors with one hand. The twin boy beside her took a deep breath. They opened the door slowly and slithered in like snakes. Their prey, the sleeping hybrid, was not even awake.
"Whatever Ai, let's do this quick. We have school."
"Yea, I know. School's only a half hour away we got lot's of time." replied Ai.
"Would Ian kill us?" The Tamer smirked at Mako's worried tone.
"Of course he would! We just have to make a dash for it after it's done. You know how groggily he gets from sleeping."
The brown haired twins slowly picked up the pony tail and carefully brought the scissors close to the hair…
Snip.
The deed was done and the ponytail was now chopped off but Ian heard the 'snip'. He snapped open his emerald eyes. Swiftly turning around, Ian found his Tamers there grinning while holding the pair of scissors and clump of bright blond hair. The green orbs switched from the Tamers, to the scissors and finally, felt his hair. It was gone! The pupils that were already like slits turned more deadly.
"You're dead." Ian growled and dove for Ai first. Although, the ten year old child was too quick and dashed for the door. Both were screaming loudly. The twins were relived that their parents left work early.
"Go! Go! Go!" Ai repeated pushing Mako up the stairs and they both grabbed their bags. They didn't even bother to put on their shoes, just picked them up and bust out of the door. Ian was at the door screaming of the things he was going to do to them with a pissed off look on his face.
"He sounds mad!" Mako cried, throwing on his shoes. Ai and Mako were taking a break from running because just sprinted three blocks without shoes.
"Of course he's mad! Lindy just gave him heck on the phone for putting Calumon with her and this didn't help." Ai replied, grinning.
Over the years, it was Ai who everyone was worried that would become a carbon copy of Impmon with the attitude, and devil like personality. At the young age of ten, she had a reputation to be the bad girl type. It was lucky that she was so charismatic and the teachers fawned over her. She certainly got her impish attitude from Ian. She held the lock of blond hair up high in victory.
"Well, we did kinda suggest he shouldn't do that." Mako gave a thoughtful moment and sighed. "But, he really cares about her."
Mako had grown into a sweet child, who loved his friends, and partners dearly. He was still a trouble maker as well, but dialed it back when it was time to be serious. He was more interested in learning, and dong well in school.
"As if he's ever going to admit that freely." Ai said. After a few minutes of walking, their bus stop was in view.
Mako brightened and waved,
"Hey, Suzie!"
The twelve year old Tamer waved and smiled. She walked over to the twins. Suzie Wong was another Tamer that had grown up a lot. Her baby attitude had changed into a more dramatic one. Her pink hair had grown and become curly which suited her face. Suzie had also become a more responsible Tamer, helping out whenever acting or modeling class was not in the way.
"Hey guys, what's up?" Hugging Ai, she raised an eyebrow at her holding out the locks of blonde hair.
"Gave Ian a haircut today." Suzie made a giggle at Ai's explanation.
"That wasn't really nice." Lopmon, the digimon partner to Suzie said, as she popped out of the backpack that Suzie was wearing. "You should say your sorry when you get home."
"He deserves it!" Mako replied, adjusting his bag. "He's been a grouch ever since Lindy left."
"How is she doing anyways?" Suzie asked.
The group boarded the old bus and sat down in the back. They wouldn't sit anywhere else since it looked like it was inhabited by gross germs. It was the quickest way to school.
"Good, that's what I heard. Although, she was really mad at Ian for pulling the Calumon stunt." Ai replied and smiled. "Hey, did you make it for the Swan Princess play?"
"I hope so." Suzie replied smiling and crossing her fingers. "If I don't, I'm going to throw a fit."
"Look out its Suziezilla and her pet Lopgore." Mako laughed at the joke. Suzie frowned and punched him playfully.
"Oh, you are so mature." Suzie crossed her arms while Mako shrugged and closed his brown eyes.
"Well, mature is my middle name."
"You middle name is Ikakko get used to it." Ai replied dryly, smirking while Mako blushed.
"You know how much I hate that name, sis!"
"What have I told you about 'sis'?"
"That you love it?" Mako grinned but switched his expressions as Ai held him down and asked for the lip gloss from Suzie.
"Maybe, I should take Lindy's advice and give you a makeover." The brunette said playfully, while Mako struggled against Ai's pin. She was much stronger than him since she was practicing at the ice rink so often.
"No fair! You skate all the time."
Ai rose an eyebrow.
"So? You skateboard. We're even."
Mako got into skateboarding, looking for a hobby that he could get himself outside and explore the city. As well, he secretly hoped Suzie would be interested in the whole skateboarding bad boy type. It was obvious to many people that he had developed a crush on her.
Suzie cut in suddenly with a serious look on her face. "You guys are even in everything! You both are Tamers, and you both have same grades! I swear if you two swapped places no one would notice! Well expect that Mako would suck at skating and Ai would trip over the board."
They got out of the old, silver bus and covered their eyes from the streaming sun in their eyes.
"I wish those buses had those sunlight windows." Ai muttered as she went into the building and putting her stuff away in the locker. "Another boring day in Miss. Asuki's class, but we can liven things up right?"
The expression the two shared turned into evil grins. Their teacher Miss. Asuki would always mix the twins up since they looked so much alike. Reaching into his locker, Mako picked up a brown, long fake hair wing and put it on.
"Hey, Miss. Asuki! I'm Ai and I'm a complete snob." He mimicked in a questionable girlish voice, while Ai simply rolled her eyes.
"Grow up, Mako." She took out a brown short haired wig and put it on and did her boy voice. "I'm Mako but they usually call me a pig."
"Oh, you're so funny." Mako replied sarcastically and headed for the classroom, as the bell rang a high pitched beep. The attire of the twins didn't matter since the two were both wearing jeans and almost the same shirt expect the one looked more tighter than the other. Sometimes, they didn't mind looking alike, it made it more fun watching people become confused. The only people who could truly tell them apart when they tried was their partners-but that only counted because they were together for so long. Also, their parents were experts at telling them apart.
Ai being Mako, sat where Mako's desk was and started to talk to the boys. They always had something funny to say around her.
"Hey guys, sup?"
Some of them blushed, while another just smirked.
"Nothing much, Ai. Back at your antics with your brother huh?"
"Yep!"
Meanwhile, Mako was talking to the girls who raved over him. Although, Mako was sensitive and tried his best to hide it. One time, Lindy and him watched 'Hatchi' the dog movie, and bawled hours over it. Ai and Ian couldn't understand it as the two had piles of tissues, chocolates, and babbled over how cute and loyal the dog was.
"Oh Mako, are you sure you don't want to have a girlfriend?" One girl asked.
"Positive." Mako replied turning to the girl beside him. "But I'm sure Nako is happy to be your boyfriend." The girls paled and looked at the chubby kid who was using the puffer.
"On second thought, staying single for a while longer doesn't sound so bad." the girl said laughing. Mako smirked. He was good with the ladies. Lindy had always given him solid advice on how to woo the ladies and he was very mature for his age.
"Class, settle down!" Miss Asuki shouted to the class and began her lesson. It was about a period through when she asked 'Mako' a question. They were learning why Princess Ruki didn't get her crown in the story they were reading.
"Uh, I think it's because Ruki wasn't being polite enough." The voice caught Mis. Asuki and she narrowed her dark brown eyes.
"Ai. Please return to your seat, and take the wig off."
This caused a wave of laughter from the class. Ai sighed said her 'gomen nasai' ritual and took off the wig to reveal her long brown hair. Mako did the same.
"Pleasure doing business with ya, were open twenty four hours a day seven days a week, so catch ya later." Mako imitated a Brooklyn accent and switched to his old seat while Miss. Asuki just held her head. Those two were giving her such a headache.
"Right, now class on wards to our lesson…"
Takato Matsuda hated history. He was used to it of course but, lately he just wanted to draw his fantasies. He became an artist ever since he drew Gulimon to life and he was taking courses on animation and drawing. He grinned at his latest cute comic of two certain blondes getting dumped with cold water by a certain 'bunny' digimon.
"Matsuda! Are you listening?" Mr. Chong asked peering at the eighteen year old boy who jumped and stuttered.
"Ye-yes sir! The answer is 3.14!"
The class snickered and some muttered 'retard'. Unfortunately, they were in history and not in math. Takato completely forgot that he was in history class with his least favourite teacher, Mr. Chong.
"You would be correct if this was math, Mr. Matsuda." Mr. Chong narrowing his indigo eyes. "If I have to warn you again you're going to detention understand?"
"Yes, sir." Takato sighed and finally tuned into the lesson. It was Greek mythology about a Beelzebub plague swarming the sinners who turned away from the Geek god, Pieces.
After school, the boy grinned as three teens around his age came running up to him. First was a boy with short raven black-green hair and glasses that made him 'nerdy'. The second was a girl with shoulder length brown hair and amber eyes. Her smile was warm enough to make snow melt, but Takato was wondering why Jeri Katou didn't have that smile on today.
Jeri and Takato had been through the thick and thin. They started to date for a little bit when they were much younger, however once Jeri was kidnapped into the digital world, she called it quits until she could figure herself out. It had been rough but she was willing to try again when they turned seventeen. Now, things had been pleasant. His parents loved her, and Guilmon always loved seeing her around.
"Jeri misses Calumon." Kazu explained, the third friend of Takato. His wild brown hair now had black highlights in it and looked more crazy than ever. In fact Kazu claimed that 'crazy' was his middle name which most people found amusing.
"I'm sure Lindy is taking good care of him, though." Jeri sighed and smiled. "So, do any of you guys have homework?"
"Nope, I worked in the library all lunch." Kenta explained smiling as he lifted his empty bag up and down. Nope, no worries from Kenta. Kazu took his hands out of his pockets and shrugged.
"Since whenever do I do my homework?"
Takato frowned. "I got some history from Mr. Chong. I swear he loves Greek history to death!" The skies were clear and screaming that he should go hang out with his friends. Especially his digimon, Gulimon he wanted to play with. The homework can wait!
The city felt free and warm since it was only the beginning of fall. Many people still walked to their daily needs and there were horns honking, people chatting, and the occasional shouts from passerby screaming incoherent things.
The four teens were walking around the city in hope of something to do. By fate, a sign caught Kazu's attention.
"Wamaki Bar. Hm, we should check it out." He jerked a thumb to the sign.
"It's a bar Kazu, as in drunk guys and people over eighteen are allowed to enter."
"No, Kenta this is actually those bars that kids are allowed to come in." Takato pointed out reading the sign. "Featuring the band Black Ace…wow, talk about crappy name."
"We should go in though! Just to check it out." Jeri cried pulling her boyfriend, Takato into the building while Kazu and Kenta followed. There was nothing else to do...so why not?
The mood in the little bar was dark and grungy. The lack of people showed that the prime time of the bar was after dark, when people would go out to have a good time. There were dark sofas on the one side that were occupied with teens slightly older than them. They were talking softly and taking occasional sips of their drinks. Tables were set up for couples and groups of four. The chairs were the same but had soft padding on them so the visitors wouldn't get to cramped. On the other side, there was a bar where drinks and food was served. In front of the bar was an old stage where two guys were playing some music but no lyrics were produced.
Curious, the four settled down to a table and glanced at the two playing. One was a tall boy with spiky black hair playing on drums. The other teenager made the quartet make a double take, just to prove they were not dreaming.
There, playing the guitar, was a bright, blond teen with a black shirt, a black leather jacket with white puff on the collar, and black baggy jeans looking like he was really into the music. When he opened his eyes when the song finished he had very familiar green eyes.
"Is that...Ian?" Jeri asked looking at Takato, who was staring at Ian with a amused expression. Kazu and Kenta looked flummoxed. Ian was the type of guy who would throw eggs at your house for fun, Ian was the type to roll his eyes when you asked him to come hang out, Ian always had a smart ass remark to say to you or some kind of nickname. Ian was not the type to be in a shady bar, playing on the guitar.
"Nah, that can't be Ian…can it?" Kazu leaned forward, squinting closer.
Finally the song finished and a woman around eighteen started to take the microphone and sang a slow song. This sparked an idea in Takato's mind.
"Jeri, wanna dance?" he had a sheepish grin on his face.
"Okay, we can wave at Ian while we're up there."
"Great, now he ditched us!" Kazu whined sitting back, but glanced at the table beside him. There were two women slightly younger than him laughing and talking to each other. "But, on the other hand gave me plenty of time to score a date-c'mon wingman Kenta! We have some ladies to woo."
As Kazu and Kenta marched over to the table, Takato lead Jeri to the stage and they danced. This caused a certain guitar player to nearly ruin his song and give a face to the couple. Jeri did a small wave, to which he rolled his eyes. The song finally ended and Ian then left the stage in almost a rush. The drummer gave Ian a strange look but shrugged and went for his smoke break.
The group saw Ian walk up to the bartender, exchange a few words and he gave him some yen. He waved later and ducked out, not even taking a glance back to the group. Jeri followed, despite Takato asking where the other two teens were.
"So how long have you been doing this?" Jeri made the blond hybrid jump in surprise and spin around. He cast his green eyes down instantly.
"Dunno what ya talkin' bout Jer..."
"Oh, I think you know what I'm talking about Ian. I never knew you were in a band." Jeri replied smiling sweetly and Ian kept walking. Jeri followed. It was fine being with the hybrid as he would never let any harm come to her. Besides, Takato was never far behind.
"How long have ya been watchin' me?" Ian asked, stopping at a light.
"Just today. Say, did you cut your hair or something? It looks nice." The ex-Tamer almost went to touch his hair but Ian backed up on reflex.
"Ya could say that...shouldn't ya be with your boyfriend?"
"He will manage without me. How is Lindy? Was she surprised by Calumon?" Jeri gave a slight frown when he looked almost sad by her question. The light turned, and they kept walking.
"She gave me shit, Jer. I was just lookin' out for her." Ian's voice changed, to a side Jeri, Lindy, Takato and the twins had the pleasure of seeing. It was the more sensitive side, and right now he was feeling bummed that Lindy was mad at him.
"Oh, I'm sorry Ian. I thought it would have been a good idea. She loves him and it would be nice for her to talk to someone from here..." Jeri realized she was not helping. "She'll come around."
"Sure, Jer."
"Hey! Jeri!" Takato panted, running up to the duo in a sprint. He gasped for air, trying to ask the hybrid something about playing with Guilmon. The hybrid's eyes hardened and he gave his usual cocky attitude.
"Ya know, as much as I would love to see a couple of kids play with pineapple head-I gotta pass...later."
Ian left, not even waiting for Kazu or Kenta to catch up, taking an alley on the right and vaulting over a fence. There, he made his way towards one of his spots in the city where he just wanted to be left alone. Climbing up a rusted fire escape, he jumped from the railing to another fire escape with ease. Over the years, he became accustomed to his human form, and gradually learned how to climb again. At the roof, he could feel the wind pick up. It was beautiful day out, with the sunlight touching his skin. Swinging his legs over, he sat on the ledge, wondering how Lindy was actually doing...
"Missing someone?" Ian jumped and turned around to meet a yellow fox digimon who's ice blue eyes stared down upon the teen. He growled,
"Not missing no one, fox face-shouldn't ya be with Rika or somethin'?"
"Actually, I came here about a digimon." This caught Ian's attention.
"A digimon? Where? I don't sense one." Ian grunted looking at the things below him. A few cars passed by, and people walked on their daily business, but no digimon. Renamon sat beside him.
"It's in the internet."
"A digimon in the internet?" Ian scoffed. "Foxy, ya gotta be kiddin' me that shit never happens." he said and Renamon narrowed her ice blue eyes.
"Yu found it. They already informed Henry and Terriermon. Now, they have informed Rika and I. Since our Tamers cannot go into the internet with us, I was hoping if you could stop moping around and accompany with us since we may be dealing with a mega."
Ian cocked his head to the side and grinned. "So ya want me to check it out?"
"In a way, yes."
"And your sure it's a digimon that's dangerous?"
"Positive."
"Then bring the ass kickin' fiesta on!" Ian cried, evilly grinning. Renamon snorted.
"Just shows you are always up for a fight."
"And that's supposta be a bad thing? Hah! I need somethin' to do and it's not as if I gotta work with someone…." Ian laughed, but as soon as he heard the yellow fox digimon cough, he paled. Renamon never did that unless...
"Aw, no! No! Your kiddin' me right?"
Ian always worked with Lindy on digimon. The two were the unbreakable duo, changing at night if any digimon attacked. While her mega form was under lock down, Hopemon and Beelzemon would be more than enough to handle whatever came through over the years. Fact was, they were together and made an excellent team-especially with the twins.
"No, I am not 'kidding you'. Yu had an idea that if the digimon went in by pairs then it would be a great way to scout the digimon."
"Whatever," Ian waved a hand lazily in the air. "I can live with going with ya. I came to realize that you're not at all that bad foxy-I mean sure ya could loosen up and take a joke but ya sure as hell better than the bunny."
"Well, the bunny is going to be your partner." Renamon spoke sharply and Ian paled.
"Oh, okay great joke there foxy-ya almost got me." Ian snorted. He stared at Renamon's dead pan face and realize that she was not joking. He and Terriermon? Why not put him locked in a room with Kazu and Kenta for a day and leave him to die. It was basically the same thing.
"Your Tamers, Ai and Mako, are already there waiting for you. They hoped you would say yes."
That was the ace in the hole. Everyone knew the best way to get Ian to go somewhere is put the twins there. He groaned and laid back, wanting to scream to the sky.
"Why me?"
Hypnos had come a long way from the once secret agency. It used to run by the brilliant programmer Mitsuo Yamaki and he did a very good job. Then after the Tamers convinced him not all digimon were evil, he changed the agency to more damage control, whenever digimon popped up. The blonde man even started Project Shield, a top secret database of all Tamers, digimon and two accounts of hybrids (Lindy and Ian respectively).
Unfortunately, he was murdered by Erika Rose when Hypnos was being over thrown. His memory was never forgotten, as a statue of the man was in the front lobby, adorned by an annual candle ceremony. Everyone loved Yamaki, he was smart, witty, and determined.
When Yu showed up as his replacement, a few changes happened to Hypnos. He had the Tamers (and hybrids) sign contracts, protecting them from any unwanted lawsuits, kidnappings, etc. Parents signed as well, and took a little convincing such as Tai and Yuki Ramen who was hell bent on protecting Ai and Mako from being in the public eye. Yu assured that they would never be called to battle, especially in school.
It was difficult at first to undo what Erika Rose had done. He had countless meetings with officials from all over the world on digimon and had to give many good reasons why military wouldn't just rush into the digital world to claim as theirs. Yu also had to figure out what to do with Tamers who lost their digimon to Rolling Meadows-a facility where digimon were tortured and deleted for experimentation. For the 'safety' of the Tamers, they were locked in there-treated like psychiatric patients. It was sickening. Thank God for Hana and her quick thinking...
The hybrid topic was a difficult one. Lindy was more than willing to swing by once in awhile and give them her blood, and DNA samples as to figure out what made her a hybrid. They tried with Ian but all they got was a middle finger and some crude language. Try as they might, the scientists could not figure it out. Lindy had a normal type O blood type but as a digimon, she changed into complete code. It was remarkable and very annoying to the blonde girl. As well, they could not understand the age but theorized that her body was stuck in a limbo since data couldn't age the same way human tissue could.
Now, things had become a little less crazy. Yu had a handle on the other governments, he hired more staff, Riley was returning to Hypnos as his assistant, and for once he didn't have a splitting headache when he heard the phone ring. That was until he had an alert about a digimon on the internet eating the stock trade. He was then pretty quick to pop a few Advil after that. He called upon the Tamers, and worked with Talley for some kind of action plan.
"Okay now that everyone is-oh hello Ian." Yu looked up and saw everyone's favourite hybrid come into the meeting room. "It's common for you to be late isn't it?"
Ian growled at dark haired man, as he sat down in the back with Ai and Mako crossing his arms and pouting. Ai and Mako were about to hug him but a glare struck that down. They pouted.
"Shut up and get on with the talkin' I'm agin' here ya know!"
That meant 'sorry for the wait. I'm here, so you can continue'.
Mako and Ai giggled a little as the others just sighed at Ian's childish behaviour. Yu coughed at Ian's remark and continued his explanation in a serious tone.
"As you all already know, there is a digimon who was created on the internet. It is still unclear how it exactly came to be, but we still working on it. Also, humans as you know cannot enter the internet-but digimon can and even hybrids," he narrowed his eyes at Ian especially at this point who rose his eyebrows and shrugged.
"Therefore, we want the digimon to go in there and see what the problem is. This is when we have the pairing come in. The portal can only allow two digimon to go at a time and we think its better two of the strongest digimon go first to check it out. If the threat is not as dangerous as we thought it may be, then it will be easy to delete. Ian and Terrimon we decided to go first-"
"Okay, wait a minute!" Ian put a hand up. "Why do I gotta go with the stupid bunny? I mean anyone else woulda been better! C'mon just let me go in there myself and check it out. I'll kick it's ass and we can go celebrate." Ian said smirking evilly and cracking his knuckles.
"In case of the digimon being a mega, we would will need help, Ian. Terriermon was the first digimon to digivolve and we think it's…suitable for you two to go."
"I'm sure you will be a lot of help Ian." Terriermon or the 'bunny' Ian preferred, chimed in a sarcastic tone. "You can be my shield!"
"What did the bunny say?!" Ian cried, pupils narrowing into slits. "That's it! Let me at him!" Ai and Mako each had his arm, and unsuccessfully trying to keep him sitting. "I don't care if he's some stupid digimon-nobody talks about me like that!" Ai and Mako both pulled Ian down as Terriermon made faces and laughed at the poor hybrid.
"Terriermon…" moaned Henry Wong, the Digimon's tamer and messaged his temples. "You shouldn't make Ian mad like that. From what I can tell he'll blow up soon."
"Aw, Hen you don't know much about fun. I think it's cute to see Ian like this." Terriermon stressed the cute more than the other words, which made Ian growl.
"I aint cute ya stupid bunny!" Ian shoved Mako and Ai off and smirked. "Besides it's me ya gotta look up to since I gunna be kickin' it's ass."
"When you mean kicking it's ass you mean yours right?" Terriermon came back and crossed his arms and his black eyes sparkled in a teasing manner as Ian growled deeply.
"Whatever ya say bunny, I aint goin' with ya."
"Alright, you know what? We should move on to team two since this is taking forever!" Rika Nonaka complained standing up. "Renamon and Gulimon can go. When these two clowns finally deal with their issues and the digimon isn't dead, we can send them in. But frankly, I want to get this going right now."
Rika took upon a large task over the years running the group. She worked close with Yu to make sure digimon were kept low and for the most part, she liked it. Being a leader wasn't something she had in mind but it grew on her, like certain digimon that argued like children. As the years passed, the leadership role became more of a passing hat. Sometimes, she would wear it, but sometimes Takato or Henry would step up.
In a few minutes, the group was at the computer ready to put Renamon and Gulimon into the internet. The machine was almost like a gun but it was connected to the computer and it made a soft hum sound. No windows or natural light was shown, only the computer screen light which proved enough for everyone to see. Renamon and Gulimon were standing in front of the laser ready to go while the others stood far back. Talley sat at the computer, ready to start the launching program.
"Okay, we can get you back. Just say the word and we have a window for you to look up to when you need help." Yamaki said to the two digimon who nodded.
"Be careful, boy." Takato said, waving and Gulimon waved back.
"After this can I have some more Gulimon bread?"
Takato laughed and nodded. The last thing the boy saw was a flash of light and then the two Digimon were gone. Jeri hugged Takato,
"He'll be alright, sweetie."
"And...we have them." Talley said, opening a screen big enough for everyone to see. There in some sort of tunnel was Renamon and Gulimon flying through dodging internet debris. It was void of any solid ground and sparks shout through the tunnel, almost like data travelling with them.
"This is fun!" Gulimon called out looking up at the screen in front of them and waving at Takato. A screen popped up and following them. There were doorways every hundred feet with pink, yellow, white and blue wires running across them.
Ai looked at Ian and tugged on his sleeve. She looked concerned.
"Ian, are you still mad at us for giving you that hair cut? Cause if you are, we're really sorry-but you look better without it."
"I don't care about the hair." Ian grumbled.
"Do you miss Lindy? Cause if you do you don't have to tell us because we know you love her." Mako suggested. A blush crept upon Ian's face but he remained composed.
"It's not toots." The blonde grumbled again.
"No Mako, it's because of Terriermon. He must have hurt his feelings."
"And I don't care about the god damn bunny!" he shouted and the twins both pouted. They were used to badgering him about finding out what's wrong. For a tough guy, he sure had a lot of bottled up feelings.
'Then what's the matter?" Mako asked "You really need to seriously calm down-you're going to blow a vein."
"Hey guys, it's his time of month so don't go too close to him!" shouted Terriermon and that's when Ian snapped. With lightening reflexes, he jumped across, grabbed the bunny with such force it made him squeak, and he dragged the digimon into the washroom.
"Ya know, I really had enough of your jokes." Ian muttered and threw Terriermon down the toilet. "So I'm gunna take my misplaced anger and use it towards somethin' good. Givin' ya a swirlie."
Hey, I'm taking advice from that stupid psychiatrist dude Ian thought. Who figured...
"Swirle? Maybe a makeover would be nice." Terriermon tried to reason, but Ian just had the imp like smile on and closed the lid and flushed the toilet.
"GAHH!" The sound of Terriermon screaming was heard by all the Tamers. Henry just sighed as Ai and Mako rushed up to the washroom.
"IAN! What did you do?" Ai cried but Ian opened the door and just smiled.
"I feel much better now, munchkin." He said ruffling his Tamer's hair. Cackling, he went back to his spot to sit. Terriermon came out next, wet and angry.
"Stupid imp." He muttered and went to Henry who scolded the poor digimon for getting Ian on his bad side.
"You okay now?" Mako asked while Ian laid back and threw his hands up behind his head. Oh yes, much better.
"Guys their about to fight it!" Takato cried waving his hands for everyone to come over and gaze into the screen where Renamon- now Taomon and War Growlmon were fighting…
"What kind of digimon is this?" Taomon whispered, floating back slightly at the sight of the Digimon.
The digimon was a reptile like digimon with black and purple scales with several arms and legs sprawled out like a spider. His face was hideous with teeth baring and vicious yellow eyes. With a roar, he prepared to attack War Growlmon.
"Gig-" The ultimate digimon cried, but was cut off when the unknown digimon rammed into WarGrowlmon and sent him flying into the walls.
"War Growlmon!" Takato cried taking out his golden D-Arc. "There has to be a way to Biomerge!"
"I'm afraid there isn't." Yu replied, casting a dark look upon his face. Takato shook his head.
"If I loose him…I don't know what I would do."
Meanwhile, Ai and Mako were throwing ideas in hope of helping the losing Digimon. Being ten years old, some of the ideas were a little...illogical.
"Maybe, we can go back in time." Suggested Ai while Mako shook his head.
"Need a time machine."
"Oh yea…how about we zap ourselves into the internet?"
Mako frowned again. "Yu said that wasn't a good idea and only two digimon could go in at a time."
"Just like the corner stores." Muttered Ai. Ian noticed their discussion and kept an ear out but his thoughts were dribbling to Lindy in Canada.
Was she okay? Why was he making a big deal out of this? Sure he loved her, but he still felt horrible and missed her so much. A part of him wanted to run off to Canada and just see her again but his Tamers were first priority. As Ian thought more, he didn't notice he was standing in front of the laser that transported the two digimon into the internet…
Kazu Shioda spun around in the chair, as he watched the battle take place. Being a clown of the group, he would always do the stupidest things but the thing that he was about to do was one of the most idiotic. Maybe even more idiotic than when he broke the digi-port and sent the wrong group into the digital world a few years back.
As he spun around, Kazu was near the buttons of the machine and he was dangerously leaning back. Too much pressure of him pulling back would end up him pressing two buttons that were sitting side by side. The 'on' switch for the machine, and the 'evacuate' switch. If that switch was pressed, then the digimon in the internet would come out...and whoever was standing in front of the machine would go in.
"Kazu, you're going to fall." Kenta his friend warned, as he was cleaning his glasses. His digimon MarineAngemon nodded and squeaked a small 'pip'.
"I am not-AH!" Kazu obeyed Murphy's Law, and he was suddenly falling back and the two switches were pressed…
Ian heard a winding up noise and looked at the machine wearily. It was glowing and he widened his eyes.
"Oh, sh-" the laser zapped him and he almost screamed but when everyone turned around a hurt War Growlmon and a wounded Taomon were there gasping for air.
No one said anything for a few seconds, then it was all Rika's shrill voice.
"KAZU WHAT DID YOU DO!?"
He got up and rubbed the back of his neck.
"I may...have sent Ian to the internet."
