They enter a passage filled with rail-less staircases descending down into the darkness below, the only light coming from fires apparent deep below the staircases.
Boromir runs so fast that he almost topples over the edge into the vast abyss yawning before them. Gandalf is the last to enter and as he does Aragorn looks back, wanting to run and confront the balrog. Gandalf says "Lead them on Aragorn, the bridge is near!" when Aragorn hesitates Gandalf shoves him toward the staircase and says "Do as I say! Swords are of no more use here!"
The fellowship quickly descends the stairs until they reach a large gap where long ago the bridge had fallen in, Sabine quickly leaps over the gap, grunting as she lands, Legolas follows and beckons Gandalf to jump next, he does so and before any others of the fellowship jump an arrow clatters against the stone, inches from the hobbits feet.
Boromir grabs Merry and Pippin and leaps as part of the stairs fall away, Legolas and Sabine returning fire at the bow-wielding Goblins. Zeb leaps across holding Chopper then Kanan tosses Sam across the gap, and as Aragorn readies himself to throw Gimli the dwarf says "No one tosses a dwarf" then leaps with a great shout, and almost falling into the abyss were it not for Legolas grabbing his beard while loosing an arrow, "Not the beard!" yells Gimli.
The stairs collapse more and Aragorn scrambles to get farther away from the edge, the distance now far to great to jump, the balrog's roar shakes the foundation and a massive chunk of rock falls behind them crushing the stairs and leaving Frodo, Kanan, Hera, Ezra, and Aragorn on a stone pinnacle slowly becoming loosened by the crumbling of its foundation.
Aragorn says "Lean forward!" and they all lean, Kanan using the force to guide the pinnacle as it topples toward the far side of the gap in the staircase, until with a crash it impacts, everyone stumbling into the others already across, and continuing their descent while the pinnacle they were standing on crumbles and tumbles down into the nothingness.
They all reach a great chamber, lit with sheets of flame, and as soon as Gandalf yells "Over the bridge, fly!" pointing toward a narrow bridge crossing a great chasm, the Balrog appears! It's massive horned skeletal face leaping through curtains of flame, the Jedi and Gandalf are momentarily stunned, but recover and run to the bridge, the creature of shadow following closely on their heels.
As they cross the bridge Ezra yells "Whoever designed this bridge was an idiot!", then after they all reach the other side they turn to see Gandalf still standing in the middle of the bridge facing the monster.
"You cannot pass!" yells Gandalf, "Gandalf" Frodo cries and everyone is transfixed in fear as the creature pulls itself up to its full height and erupts in flame. "I am a servant of the secret fire, wielder of the flame of Arnor, your dark fire will not avail you flame of Udun!" The balrog crashes a sword of flame on Gandalf's magical shield and it disintegrates.
The creature roars at Gandalf in fury and Gandalf says "Go back to the shadow!" the balrog placing one enormous cloven foot on the bridge and summoning a whip of flame. Gandalf raises his staff and sword and shouts "You…Shall not…Pass!" and brings his staff down upon the bridge with a resounding cracking noise.
The creature seeing nothing happening strides toward Gandalf, but then the bridge crumbles and the balrog topples into the darkness, roaring in fury. Everyone simply watching in amazement at the conclusion to the battle…or so they thought.
Without warning the balrog swirls its whip up and it catches Gandalf's ankle, pulling him over the edge, barely grabbing the edge of the bridge as the whip retreats. Frodo runs only to be held back by Boromir, crying Gandalf's name. Ezra springs forward only to be hit in the shoulder by an arrow signaling the return of the Goblins!
Gandalf tries in vain to pull himself up, and looking at Frodo's horrified visage whispers "Rally you fools" and lets go, disappearing into the blackness. "NO!" Frodo screams, as he is pulled toward the exit by Boromir, who calls for Aragorn to follow, Ezra being carried by Hera, Kanan, and Sabine.
As they exit the horror of Moria everyone crumples, the hobbits sobbing, Gimli being held by Boromir, Legolas looking numb, Zeb sitting in disbelief, Chopper beeping sadly, only their concern for Ezra overrode the Grief that Hera, who was crying for both Gandalf and Ezra, Kanan, Sabine, and Aragorn were feeling.
Sabine removes her helmet, showing tears in her eyes as Ezra moans from the arrow sticking out of his shoulder.
"He's lucky, it doesn't appear to have hit anything vital" says Aragorn, getting sighs of relief from Kanan and Hera.
"I'll pull it out but we must keep pressure on the wound, or he'll bleed to death." This renewing their worries.
They place some cloth over the wound and tighten it down, Kanan and Hera decide to carry Ezra, Sabine feeling too shaky to help, and as they pick up the wounded padawan Aragorn says "Legolas get them up" while Boromir yells "Give them a moment for pity's sake!" Aragorn replying "By nightfall these hills will be swarming with orcs, we must reach the woods of Lothlorien".
Then Aragorn notices Frodo is missing and franticly calls his name, until he sees the Hobbit looking at him with eyes of pure grief.
An hour later…They have just entered the golden woods and unbeknownst to them, they are being watched from afar, especially the strange travelers from afar. Though who is watching them remains to be seen…
