Chapter 27:
Tris POV:
Not a word was said the whole walk home. As my head laid against his chest the beats of his heart spoke enough for me. His chest was cold from the rain yet so warm at the same time. For the first time in a long time, while out in the pouring rain, I felt at home in his arms.
When we arrived to our apartment he gently placed me on the couch and covered me with a blanket. Before he could take another step, before the thought of leaving me crossed his mind I blurted out.
"I'm sorry."
"Tris—"
"No, Tobias, stop. I'm sorry. I know I made a mistake and I'm sorry."
"I should have fought harder." He whispered.
I jumped up from the couch and pulled him into a kiss. Our kiss. A kiss that I've craved since the last time his lips left mine.
"Never leave me again." I whispered between passionate kisses.
"Never let me." He whispered back.
Before I knew it he swept me off my feet and carried me to our bedroom. Piece by piece we pealed off our wet clothing. His lips never left mine as my purple dress and his shirt and pants made a puddle on the floor beside us.
He sweetly kissed my stomach.
"Daddy's back."
I couldn't help but laugh. Really laugh.
Tobias POV:
I wake up to the most beautiful view in the whole world. I missed this. Everything I could or would ever want right beside me: my children and my wife. I missed the curve of her nose and her beautiful long eyelashes. The way she held her growing belly at night while she sweetly slumbered protecting our children from any harm. Out of all the places in the world, this is exactly where I want to be.
I kissed her forehead and her eyes opened.
"Good morning." I whispered.
"That it is." She reached up and pulled me in for a kiss.
Night reached us in what seemed like a moment. We spent the whole day catching up and laying in each other's arms. These are the best kind of days, the kind with each other.
