Sorry for taking so long! I had the worst case of writer's block and am so glad that you did not abandon this story, thank you so much!

The Previous Night… The Hobbits and Ezra are thrown unceremoniously to the ground as the lead Orc yells "We ain't goin' no farther till we've had a breather!" "Make Camp" the lead Uruk yells, Ezra crawls over to Merry and Pippin while Merry says "You think that maybe we shouldn't have left the shire Pip?"

The orcs begin to chop firewood from the nearby forest, and after a while the forest begins to groan, Ezra feeling a strong and angry wave of the force coming towards them. Pippen asks "What's making that noise?" Merry replying "It's the trees!" then relating a story about the old forest on the borders of Buckland.

"I'm starving" one Uruk says "We've had nothing but maggoty bread for three stinking days!" with another orc replying "Yeah, we need some meats…"his gaze falling on Ezra and the hobbits, "What about them, they're fresh!" The crowd begins to stir as the lead Uruk yells "They are not for eating!"

The orc looks at the Uruk with fury as another Orc says "What about their legs, they don't need those." Ezra feeling panic beginning to well up in his chest, he certainly did need his legs! "Oh, they look tasty!" then the Uruk shoves the orc backward yelling "Get back scum!" as the orcs and Uruks bear weapons at each other. Then one of the orcs says "Just a mouthful" and gets his head lopped off, with the Uruk who did it yelling "Look's like meats back on the menu boys!"

The prisoners are forgotten as the horde goes into a feeding frenzy, as the hobbits and Ezra crawl away Ezra feels a sharp pan on his leg and is roughly flipped over to see an orc standing above him pointing a wickedly bladed knife at him and saying "Go ahead, squeal!" while roughly grasping Ezra's face and then saying "No one's going to save you" when suddenly a spear lands in the orcs backside!

The camp is thrown into a panic as horsemen ride out of the blackness and begin a wholesale slaughter of the orcs and Uruks. Merry, Pippen, and Ezra quickly cut their bonds on a fallen axe and run towards the forest, though Ezra loses his lightsaber when a horse almost bowls him over.

After a minute in the forest Ezra feels an orc following them and says to the hobbits "We're being followed, run!" pulling out his dagger, the hobbits comply and Ezra only has time to turn around before receiving a wicked gash on his forehead, the last thing he remembers before blacking out in the underbrush is hearing a pathetic squeal, crunching sound, and the cracking of wood…

Fangorn Forest… The group has been perusing the hobbits and Ezra's tracks for only a few minutes when… "Ezra!" yells Hera, suddenly rushing into the underbrush and lifting up Ezra's unconscious form, Kanan and Sabine rush over taking note of the wide oozing gash on his forehead, they are about to say something when Zeb asks "Sabine? What's that on your shoulder?"

Aragorn and she both look at her shoulder and surprisingly find it coated with a sticky foul liquid, Aragorn puts some of it to his nose and recoils saying "Orc blood!" they see another drop of it appear on her shoulder and look up to find the impaled, mangled corpse of an orc situated in the trees above their heads.

Aragorn looks around and finds said orcs knife and looking between it and Ezra says "This must be what cut him" motioning with the knife, at that moment Ezra being to stir and in a few moments is panicking before saying "Kanan? Sabine? Everyone, what happened?" Sabine giving Ezra a big hug and Kanan joining in, Aragorn is producing a strip of cloth to bind Ezra's head while asking "We were going to ask you?"

Ezra quickly relates the previous night's events before finishing with "…then I felt a burning cut on my head and everything went black as I heard the orc screaming." Kanan looks at Ezra then says after a moment's hesitation "You must have subconsciously used the force to kill the orc when you went down, your body instinctively trying to protect you." As Aragorn finishes wrapping Ezra's head, they all nod seeming satisfied with the answer, and continue on into the forest.

After another two days of searching Aragorn bends down and says "These are strange tracks" suddenly a groaning is heard and Ezra readies his recently-returned lightsaber before Legolas says "The forest is old, very old, full of memory…and anger" Aragorn tells Gimli and Ezra to lower their weapons as Legolas continues "The trees are speaking to each other" everyone looks at him as if he just announced that he was Agent Kallus in disguise, and Sabine says "Excuse me?" Zeb releasing a hearty laugh before seeing that Legolas was indeed not joking.

Suddenly Legolas starts and says "Aragorn nad no ennas!" and they all crowd around as Legolas intones in common "The white wizard approaches." Aragorn replying "Do not let him speak he will place a spell on us, one…two…three!"

They all spin around and attack the brilliant light that appears, Legolas arrow and Gimli's axe being thrown aside and everyone else's weapons burning like fire forcing them to drop them.

A distorted voice speaks out of the light "You are tracking the footsteps of two young hobbits" "Where are they!" Aragorn demands, "They passed this way, the day before yesterday, they met someone they did not expect, does that comfort you?", "Who are you? Show yourself!" Aragorn yells then the figure steps into the light.

Everyone's jaws drop at the sight before them, Zeb's eyes looking like saucers and Sabine snakingly removing her helmet, for it was none other than Gandalf!

"It cannot be." Aragorn breathes as Legolas and Gimli bow, "You fell?" Gandalf's face turns grave and he says "Through fire and water, from the lowest dungeon to the highest peak I fought the Balrog of Morgoth, till at last I through down my enemy and smote his ruin upon the mountainside, darkness took me and I strayed out of thought and time, stars wheeled overhead and each day was as long as a life age of the earth, but it was not the end, I felt life in me again, I had been sent back till my task is done"

Kanan chose now to speak "You came back form the dead!" to which Gandalf gives an amused nod, his and the rest of the crew of the Ghosts minds coming to a screeching halt, return from death! Hera is the only one to speak and says "Welcome back Gandalf"

"Gandalf? Yes Gandalf the grey, that was my name, I am Gandalf the white, and I come back to you now at the turn of the tide."

They all begin to trek to Fangorns outmost borders as Gandalf says "One stage of your journey is over, another begins, we must ride to Edoras with all haste." As they miraculously cover two days distance in a minute and a half.
