Chapter Twenty Six: Friendship Presents.
"Happy birthday." Malfoy whispered in Hermione's ear as she walked in from returning from Pansy's.
"How did you know?"
"Of course I know when your birthday is silly, I know everything."
"Okay if you know everything, what am I thinking?"
"Malfoy is super sexy." He smirked.
"Yeah, I'm thinking that." She said sarcastically.
"So…present before or after school?"
"You got me a present?" Hermione gaped.
"Yes." He smiled, "Of course I did."
"Alright." She recomposed herself, "After."
"Good." He nodded, "Dibs on the bathroom!" He laughed and locked the door behind himself.
"Oh come on Malfoy!" She banged on the door.
"I'll be five minutes!"
"Ha." She scoffed and sat on the bed, waiting.
Twenty minutes later Malfoy walked out in a bath of steam and smiled at an annoyed Hermione.
"I'm done." He nodded for her to go in.
"Five minutes!" She scolded.
"I know, I know, go on, and enjoy the shower." He chuckled as she stormed in, "Stay with a face like that and you'll look like Snape." He heard the shower turn on so he got dressed. Halfway through getting dressed though he heard people running up the stairs and he naturally grabbed his wand, on the defensive. No one was going to touch his Mate.
"Put the damn wand away Malfoy." Ginny snapped as she walked in with Harry and Ron.
"How did you get in?" He demanded.
"Hermione told me the password, remember?"
"Of course." He rolled his eyes, "But could you wait down-"
"Ginny? Harry? Ron? Is that you?" Hermione asked walking out in her towel, her wild curly hair dripping.
"Happy birthday Hermione!" They chimed. Malfoy growled and stepped in front of his Mate, blocking their view of her near nakedness.
"What the hell Malfoy?" Ron snapped and stepped forward. Malfoy snarled at him.
"Crap…guys go wait downstairs okay?" She instructed.
"Why?" Ron asked.
"For goodness sake Ron, one she is in a towel, two Malfoy is on the defensive and if you want to live you better get moving, now!" Ginny scolded him and ushered the two men out the door, "We'll be downstairs okay?" She nodded the Hermione as she closed the door.
"They're gone Malfoy." Hermione patted his back before reaching for her robes.
"No one sees you like that but me." He frowned.
"Okay, now turn around so I can get dressed." She told him. Quickly she pulled on her robes and turned him to face her, "Thank you for protecting me modesty." She leaned up and kissed him. It was only supposed to be a peck-sure they'd kissed a bit in the last couple of weeks but he never bit her 'you're not ready' he'd say-But he pulled her in closer and melted his lips to hers. She gasped and he slipped his tongue through her parted lips. Instantly she responded, both fighting for dominance. Soon though Hermione pulled away for air but Malfoy just dipped to her neck, kissing and sucking and licking but not biting. For once she didn't tense but she did sigh before returning to normal brain capacity and said, "We better go downstairs."
"Mmm…" He hummed as he drew away and he caught her eye. Both had realised what that kiss meant now and as much as it frightened Hermione she was also excited, soon their Bond would begin, soon.
"Come on." Carefully she moved away, conscious of how his Veela side could react. Slowly he faced his palm towards her, silently telling her to go. Backing away she noticed how his eyes were hungry and his body coiled tight. He was battling his Veela side. Slightly scared she felt the urge to help him but knew that it'd make things worse so she backed away and fled out of the door.
"Hermione!" Ron and Harry rushed to her while Ginny hung back, watching the stairs, her hand twitching for her wand.
"I'm fine, nothing happened, everything is fine." She tried to smile reassuringly.
"He…he bit you?" Ron spluttered and backed away.
"No, it's…it's just a love bite." She saw that he didn't trust her, "Ron please, it's just a love bite."
"It's okay Hermione; we knew this was going to happen." Harry said.
"It's a love bite!" She cried.
"I think we should go." Ron whispered as he and Harry walked out.
"Guys!" She called after them but stayed where she was.
"Don't worry Hermione." Ginny smiled, "They'll realise soon enough."
"Ginny, it's just…I haven't seen you all in weeks properly, what with the funeral and Pansy's wedding."
"I know I better go explain to them."
"Thanks Ginny." The two Gryffindors hugged before she left while Hermione hugged her arms around herself.
"Hey." Malfoy called softly as he walked down the stairs.
"Hi." She murmured.
"What's wrong?"
"They thought this was a Veela bite." She pointed to her neck.
"Here." He wrapped her scarf around her neck.
"Thanks."
"We better get to breakfast."
"Yeah…I guess."
"Come on." He slung an arm around her shoulders.
"Are you okay?" She asked as they walked out.
"Yeah."
"You sure?"
"If I wasn't I wouldn't be here."
"Okay, but if you need to come back tell me."
"I'm fine Granger. Can we talk about something else?"
"Yes."
"Okay…so what do you want for your birthday?"
"Um…maybe some new books, I could do with some new clothes…to be quite honest, I don't mind." She smiled at him.
"Okay."
"So what have you got me?"
"You'll have to see." He smirked.
"Oh, come on, Malfoy…"
"Nope, not telling."
"I'll get you to blab soon enough."
"Not if I ignore you."
"You wouldn't."
"Did you say something?"
"Shut up ferret."
"Know-it-all."
"Pasty face."
"Beaver."
"Cockroach."
"Nest hair."
"Self-centred arrogant git!"
"Ouch." He clutched his heart dramatically, "Wow Granger, original."
"You know me." She smirked.
"Go get some breakfast." And they split up.
A/N: Okay so that has got to be the hardest chapter to write so far. I myself have never had a boyfriend or done anything like that-sad I know but if you saw the guys in my school you'd know why-so I could really do with some feedback please because I've only got what I've read in other fics to go off! Please review!
