"Here" said Ezra "Let me help you with that." Assisting an elderly Rohan lady lift a bag into her cart, Kanan watched nearby, smiling. Legolas stood next to him, watching with obvious amusement as Ezra struggled with the sack.

"Are you his father, I-I am ashamed that I did not ask you sooner." Asked Legolas, Kanan chuckled and said "No, his father and mother were taken by the Empire when he was seven, he was on his own till about a year ago when he found us."

"What kind of people would separate one so young from their families" Legolas commented with obvious disgust, "The Empire kills if you say one word against them, sometimes even if you just aren't doing things their way, billions have died for their cruelty, that is why we rebel, for people like Ezra, so they can have a brighter future."

"A noble cause" said Legolas, the patted Kanan on the shoulder and turned saying "We should go and help the others." Kanan too turned and began to follow when a shrill scream rang out behind him.

He and Legolas spun around finding everyone pointing spears and swords at a terrified Ezra who had used the force to levitate a small sack, the sacks owner being the old woman who was shrieking "Sorcerer!"

Kanan and Legolas walked over toward Ezra, when they heard the sound of "What is going on here?!" and several of the kings guard, followed by King Theoden, pushed through the crowd, they all stopped short when they saw Ezra and the floating bag.

The kings guard drew their swords and the king stepped forward and said "Care to explain young man?" Ezra merely gulped in reply.

Kanan walked forward to Ezra's side with Legolas and put his hand on Ezra's shoulder. Then said to the king and crowd "This is not sorcery and this man is my padawan or apprentice. We are trained to use the force, an energy field created by all life, we use it for the good of all peoples, Ezra is a learner, and was only trying to help."

Legolas then interjected "We are all companions of Mythrandier, does that not alleviate your fears?"

The crowd murmured at this, the king looked at the three and said "Any friends of Gandalf are friends of mine, return to your business…you three, find your comrades and meet me in the Golden Hall."

The crown dispersed and Ezra breathed a sigh of relief, then went with Kanan and Legolas to find the others. Within five minutes everyone was accounted for and present before Theoden, Hama, Gamling, and Eowyn in the Golden Hall.

All was silent before Ezra stepped forward and said "I'm sorry your majesty, I wasn't thinking when I used the fore earlier, I didn't mean to cause any alarm." With that he slunk back between Kanan and Hera, Sabine close by.

The king then smiled and said "No need to apologize, for if Gandalf trusts you then so do I, but I must ask for a demonstration of anything unusual that you can do, to avoid a similar situation in the future"

So without further ado, Sabine demonstrated her blasters, Kanan his lightsaber and the force, Chopper demonstrated himself, and Zeb showed off his bo-rifle.

At the end the king said "You have many talents that shall be useful when helping defend Helms Deep, thank you." Kanan then directly apologized to Hama for his use of the, now explained, Jedi mind trick.

Hama accepted, on the condition that it not be used on him again, which made everyone laugh.

The next day they set out from Meduseld, and during the next two uneventful days Ezra and to a lesser extent Kanan 'educated' the Rohan people about the fore and the wider galaxy.

Then at around midday on the fourth day while Sabine, Hera, and Eowyn were laughing like mad over Gimli's recollection of bearded dwarf women, even Chopper rumbled with obvious mirth.

Hama and Gamling were moving slightly ahead of the refugees when Ezra felt a spike in the Force, looking up he saw the most vicious looking canine, being ridden by an orc!

Right before it leapt toward Hama, Ezra shouted "Look out!" and Hama managed to move so the warg and orc hit the dirt and not him, Zeb quickly finished it off with two shots from his blaster.

Ezra ran back toward the main group and yelled "Big orc ridden dog things!", "Wargs!" Aragorn yelled "We're under attack!" Then Theoden rallied the rohirrim and they, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, and the full crew of the ghost, except Chopper, rode over the hill to confront the warg riders.

The two forces clashed with a crunch as the wargs tore into the horses, Legolas and Zeb were riding near one another and shooting in tandem, everyone missed by Legolas was hit by Zeb.

Ezra was riding with Kanan till he slipped off, he got up and saw a warg coming near him, but quickly dispatched it.

Sabine was near Hera, the pair defending each other, both shooting warg after warg, then Sabine tossed a thermal detonator into their midst and blasted ten wargs out of the fight…permanently.

Kanan rode by Gimli who was stuck beneath several corpses and lifeted them up and off him yelling "No napping!", buy now the wargs were routed and fleeing back over the hills.

It was at this moment of semi-triumph that Ezra noticed Aragorn was missing, he began to shout for him, looking all around, soon joined by Sabine, Gimli, and Legolas.

They found one not-quite-dead orc near the Cliffside and Gimli said "Speak quickly and I will ease your passing!"

The orc choked out "He's…Dead, took a little tumble off the" then Sabine shot him in the head, clearly ticked off. Legolas then found Aragorn's evenstar pendant in it's hand, which means that…

They looked over the cliff and saw only turbulent water below them. Then they turned to hear, King Theoden finish saying "…Leave the dead."

So it was with heavy hearts that they proceeded to Helms Deep, where a twist of fate or two would soon find them.
