The Saga: Successors

Chapter 16: Bakemon's Story

The Canadian Tamers all sat down for an official meeting twenty four hours after the Blossomon battle. Marianna arranged everyone to rendezvous at Belmonte Park, a few blocks away from the Lapp apartments. It was close, secluded and with the light rain, it seemed no one was going to bother them. They all sat underneath a gazebo where murky, tasteless graffiti decorated the walls and columns.

It was quiet for a minute until Marianna spoke first,

"I assume we all know why we're all here then?"

"Yeah, we gotta talk about the fact that our digimon shouldn't be meddling in our love lives." growled Cam, folding his arms. Agumon gave a guilty glance at him and rubbed his head.

"We said we're sorry. Can't you and Katrina just let it go?"

"I thought we were here because of Gazimon knowing so much of the UltimateChaosmon legend?" inquired Ally, holding her partner on her lap. "I mean, she is pretty smart and clearly some monsters want her-"

"No, we need to talk about the fact that someone here was lying about saying who he said he was." the latina leader folded her arms and glared at Bakemon.

"Oh, that." Ally mumbled. Everything became quiet except for the drizzle of the rain.

All the focus was on the white ghost digimon. It seemed he had now felt the change of his friends knowing his identity. Not thinking he was ever going to utter those words at the battle again, Daemon. The Demon Lord of Wrath. The digimon know this was going to be a long and lengthy explanation.

"It wasn't like I was hiding the worst possible secret ever." Bakemon argued. He looked at Luke and then let his head dip a little from his partner's angry look. The champion was filled with shame and embarrassment. "But, if it helps I can tell you what happened last time we faced UltimateChaosmon-"

"You faced him before?" asked PJ in astonishment.

"Yeah, it was a long time ago...in digital time maybe thousands of years before our worlds kinda collided-time passed differently back then." the ghost explained in choppy sentences. "But, I'll do the best I can with what I remember-I'm still hazy on details."

A deep breath, and the group had been whisked away in Bakemon's retelling of what happened with UltimateChaosmon.

A long, long time ago...

In the digital world, a dark and gloomy castle stood proudly on a vast field, with trees lining around it and proud black flags flapping into the wind. The symbol was a backwards four and flames engulfed around it. Digital streams passed by often, but it would never harm the scenery. Tumble weeds drifted by as well along with the occasional digi-gnome that flickered in and out of being detected. What was certain was that many stayed very far away from the castle. For it held evil.

In the obsidian rock walls of the castle, held a council of seven powerful digimon. They loomed in darkness, sitting on each of their vastly different thrones. Some thrones were giant, holding lurking beastly bodies with ruby red eyes. Others were smaller and simpler, holding to be more absent rulers who preferred to be out in the world. But today, everyone was accounted for and it held an crucial meeting.

"Lord Daemon," began one of the lords. He was a giant alligator like demon with red scales and many tails that swayed behind him. Although his eyes were tiny, his teeth were large enough to bite through tough armour and crush his victims between his maw. He ruled over the ocean and waters of the digital world, being known as the sin of Envy. Leviamon. "What brings us all here? Do you have new reports of UltimateChaosmon?"

In the center of the thrones was the leader, Daemon himself. He was cloaked in a dark red haze, only his eyes showing his personality. With a claw, he beckoned a Devimon to give him a scroll. Opening it, he presented the group with a message.

"I have orders from the Royal Knights. They wish to meet with us along with the Holy Angels to fight UltimateChaosmon."

Swears and cries filled the room along with a few roars and hisses. Lilithmon, the demon of Lust being the one who screeched about how filthy the Holy Angels were.

"They left us to rot countless times and now they want us back?" she spat. "Why do you even entertain this, Lord Daemon?"

The Demon of Lust had a point. Usually, their leader would send back any request to deal with either group with a deleted digimon or a crude answer. This time however, he seemed to be actually listening to them. It caused a disturb within the Lords, some who were unsure if Daemon was fit for duty.

"This is not about our petty fights anymore, Lady Lilithmon." began Daemon. "I am usually all for fighting on our own but we can't just take him down. It will have to be a bigger attack-"

"Then we send our minions-we command hordes of virus digimon-digimon that stand by us!" Lilithmon shrilled. "We do not need them."

"For once, I agree with my Lady." Leviamon said. "We have our armies, and they will proudly die for us."

"And you idiots wish for all them to die in vain?" Daemon argued. "Look, I'm not the one for formality-none of us were at first. Do you all remember how we came to be? We were just nobodies! Everyday rookies that were part of a system that virus digimon were bad, and vaccines were the be all end all. Remember how we started to rebel and free our kind? We all scarified a lot." he turned his attention to Lucemon the sin of Pride. "Some more than others."

"Our fearless leader has a point," muttered the fallen angel tonelessly.

Daemon continued, "If we work together just this once with them, that will be it. We can go our separate ways and fight afterwards to our hearts content. Trust me, I want to spit on those angels just as much as you do. And to our Royal Knights..." he cast out a ugly claw and a fireball blasted out and enveloped a old tapestry of several shadowed knights-

"Bakemon!" snapped Marianna. "You are not making a good case for yourself here. All you told us was how you want to kill the Holy Angels and Royal Knights-"

"Can you just calm your tits for one second and let me tell my damn story?" snapped the ghost digimon. "It's important for you guys to know that these three groups-we all hated each other."

Lord Daemon walked down the halls, striding away from Lady Lilithmon and Lord Leviamon. The two politely disagreed with the order, but they would obey-only for the sake of saving their domains. The digital ocean was close to being completely destroyed by UltimateChaosmon and the Dream Gardens Lilithmon rule is in pieces.

"Not half-bad," a smooth voice said.

Daemon turned to see Lucemon leaning against the wall. His small angelic features made him most different from the group, with white feathers, crystal blue eyes, and pale skin with holy white cloth draped around his body. Blue paint was on his face in a design that curved around his eye.

"Ah, Lucemon. Always can count on you for some lame entrance to make yourself cooler," mumbled the demon digimon.

"Come again?"

"Nothing, forget it. You think the others are going to join us?"

Lucemon pushed himself off the wall and floated over to Daemon. The two went down the long hallway, not giving a single glance at the various virus digimon servants who crumbled beneath their feet. The praise and loyalty was unprecedented.

"Well, I suppose I will side with you. I like to live." Lucemon said in a monotone voice. "I could gather from the looks of Belphemon and Babramon that they will join you too."

"Lucy, Belphemon was asleep as usual and Babramon seemed more interested in that shiny coin he was holding that I gave him as a joke." Daemon clicked his tongue. "What about Lilithmon? She is powerful and I really don't want to get on her bad side."

"She is undetermined." came the unhelpful response. "As is Leviamon-those two are close."

"And Beelzemon?"

"The odd one? He was quiet as usual-nothing different or noted from his usual attitude."

"Figures, he's the wild card of our group. Always doing something different or apart from us. When is that guy gunna get through his mind that he has to work with us." the demon lord complained.

"Probably when you learn to actually lead our group." came the harsh response.

A moment's pause.

"Lucy, that's not funny."

"It was to me."

"So Lucemon was your friend?" asked Luke. Bakemon made a face,

"It was...a complicated relationship. We all were civil with each other in the end because we had one goal to achieve when we first formed and that was to protect our fellow virus types-"

"A long time ago, and to this day, virus type digimon are regarded as lesser or all completely evil digimon. Even though some of us don't fight or are interested in other things." Gazimon spoke up. "We might look different, but that doesn't mean vaccines or data types can just go attack us for no reason."

"I can make a list of virus digimon that caused us harm." retorted Agumon and listed several digimon including ShadowWereGaruarumon, Blossomon, and even Etemon."

"So you accept that Kunemon is evil? I am? What about Lindy? She is a virus type after all. Do you wish to kill all of us because we are simply different?"

"That's different, you guys are not trying to kill us."

"Bakemon, continue the story." Marianna rubbed her temples. The arguing between digimon was getting on her nerves. Ally and PJ looked uncomfortable with the sudden shift on their partners.

And so, the Demon Lords prepared to have a meeting with the Holy Angels. It was going to be a simple meeting to establish the goal of facing off UltimateChaosmon and that afterwards, they would go their separate ways.

They met at a neutral point, a courtyard filled with dozens of gravestones and phantom smoke flooding the area. Dead trees twisted high into the sky and Scarecrowmon stood idly being their only witnesses to the meeting. They were silent digimon and probably didn't move from their roost in a lifetime.

Daemon leaned on a gravestone, looking around for some sign of the Holy Angels. Lucemon stood erect beside him, hands behind his back at attention and floating three inches in the air from the group. Lilithmon was filing one of her razor sharp nails and examining them. Belphemon was asleep, and Leviamon was arguing with Babramon about what would be more valuable as a slave: a Holy Angel or a Royal Knight. Beelzemon stood aloof, crossing his arms and glowering in the shadows.

Then, a bright light burst out of the sky and crashed onto the ground. They had arrived, the seven Holy Angels. Lucemon let out a growl of disgust. The others let out their own hisses and shrieks of unpleasant light stinging their eyes. The only one who didn't make a sound was Daemon. The leader had no choice-it was time to show the others why he was in charge.

They were all brightly coloured with various outfits of armour and wings. Most-if not all had some kind of flying ability. The one that he was concerned about had flew in last-almost giving the most time to his landing. He bore heavy turquoise and white amour, and a concealing helm. White missile toe wings sprouted from his back and the air gave a chill. It contrasted from the hellfire that Daemon emitted from his own body that could melt human skin off as he pleased.

The lead figure-the one with the missile toe wings-took off his helm and set it aside. Green eyes stared straight into Daemon as the blond held out a hand-one of his very own-not the slightly translucent that floated around his body.

"Daemon, we meet." greeted Lindenmon, the captain of the Holy Angels.

"Wait-Lindy, Lindenmon?" questioned Katrina. Bakemon shook his head.

"No, this isn't anything like Lindy. I'm not sure how your friend achieved her mega form as Lindenmon, but this guy was different. He was colder, more technical and a pain in my ass when I was ruling. Same goes for Beelzemon-the spit fire that your friends with is nothing like my buddy back then. Trust me, I had to do a double take when I first saw him."

The group gave murmurs of 'oh' and quiet down. Bakemon coughed and continued the story.

"Captain Lindenmon," replied Daemon, shaking the hand. The Demon Lord noticed the angel had a strong grip, and it felt like he dunked his hand into a bucket of ice. "Nice of you to bring the others. Feels just like a play date already."

The Holy Angel narrowed his eyes. "I hope you didn't think I would come alone. That would be foolish."

It was a line-up; angels versus demons. Daemon faced Lindenmon, Lilithmon faced a womanly angel with green and gold amour and red hair who gave a sneer. Beelzemon faced off with another male angel with blonde locks and a griffon mask. Leviamon faced off with a pink dragon digimon with black horns. They were snarling and snapping their jaws. Belphemon faced off with another beastly digimon with large arms and a jester collar. Babramon looked up at a angel digimon with ten golden wings, cerulean and silver amour and ancient digi runes embroiled into his centre cloth. Finally, Lucemon stood face to face with a red and white Angemon with a key blade attached to his hip.

"CalvisAngemon. My new second in command." spoke Lindenmon coolly.

"Lucemon. My second in command and one of my friends." came the hot reply from Daemon. "Does your second in command even know how to fight? His power feels that of a newborn."

The shouts and jeers erupted from the Demon Lords. The Angels wanted to cry out in protest, but Lindenmon outstretched his translucent ghost like hands-silencing them.

"Enough of petty talk, let's discuss what we are going to do with UltimateChaosmon. He is going to destroy everything-even our vaccine digimon and our light. It might be unorthodox to team up with the likes of you, but if it will serve purpose to the greater good, then I will entertain the thought."

"Well glad we got that out of the way. So truce?" asked Daemon, folding his arms. Lindenmon gave a little smile.

"Only if you accept our conditions-"

"Raremon shit!" bellowed Leviamon.

"He's trying to trick us." muttered Beelzemon darkly. The blonde angel in front of him unleashed his blade-a gold and white rapier with elegant designs. He held it to the Demon of Gluttony's throat."

"Do you dare speak blasphemy of our Captain?" the digimon asked in an English accent, cocking his head.

"Urielmon, enough." ordered Lindenmon, raising his voice. The Holy Angel put away his weapon and if he had eyes, would shoot daggers at Beelzemon.

"My conditions are as follows: first we are to cease fire on each other including our lesser in command until this conflict is resolved." The captain of the Holy Angels spoke. There was silence. "Second, we require the following lands to be given to us..."

And so the negotiations began. Fighting over land, arguing what would be split and what would be kept after UltimateChaosmon was defeated. Finally, Lindenmon made one last request.

"The Royal Knights have contacted me and want to join in on this partnership. They believe that fighting together as one will give an edge on this calamity and provide us the victory we so desire."

"Now hold on a damn minute! I'll put my hate aside these stupid angels but filthy knights?" Babramon stroked his beard. "They do not have honour or loyalty! Each one does as they please without thinking of anything but themselves. They are even worse than us! At least we fight for our virus kin!"

"Lord Babramon has a point: those knights are very untrustworthy." began Daemon. "They tried to make peace with us and then have one of their own come around and slit our throats in the dark. Then, they blame us for starting it! Tell me they do not make you feel uneasy, Captain Lindenmon?"

The white mega pursed his lips. His eyes seemed clouded with a thought before he spoke again, with more carefully picked words.

"It is only temporarily. If they decide to switch sides then we will defend you."

"Is that a promise? Be careful, Lindenmon because I will hold you to that oath." warned the Demon leader. Surprised murmurs became of the group while Lucemon pulled him down violently to his level.

"This is a bad idea-" Daemon shushed the fallen angel.

"Fine. I will give my life to the oath that we will defend you until the threat of UltimateChaosmon is finished." Extending a hand, Daemon looked at it carefully for a second. Then he clasped it and with his power, sealed the oath. Hellfire wrapped around their arms and hands like thin wires that squeezed their data and skin for a moment. Then, the fire burst in the air and evaporated. Daemon gave a dark chuckle.

"There, I will hold you to your oath. You better not backstab me."

"I can keep a promise." growled Lindenmon. He turned around. "We will return for battle within a fornight. Is that understood?"

"Crystal clear. Now take your prissy children out of my sight. I'm getting sick of seeing so much ugly at one time."

The group looked at Bakemon as he stopped for a second to take a drink of water. Marianna asked him what that oath was all about.

"Well, back then we took our promises pretty seriously. It was almost like a power in itself to give that kind of Oath. In fact, I gave the same oath to my Demon Lords."

"And what was the price if you failed?" asked Cam.

"I would lose all power I had gained."

The time had come on the battle field. The Holy Angels had all come like planned, decorated in massive amounts of armour and prayers of light filling their bodies. It almost made them shining beacons that would seem poetic to them, but to the Demon Lords, it make them look simply stupid.

The Lords themselves had arrived ready to fight. No special amour, no prayers, but all the guts and determination that they could muster. They didn't need fancy weapons or mysterious powers. They relied on each other and the immense power that dwelled within them.

"Don't forget my brothers and sister!" cried Daemon as he finished up his battle speech. "That we stand together come hell and high water. We are exactly who we are and who we became to be. We are power and we are going to kick some fucking ass!"

The shouts and cries intensified from the Demon Lords. Rowdy, but willing to fight to the death. It was a complete contrast to the Holy Angels who were silent and awaiting Lindenmon's command. He whispered something into his second in command's ear and CalvisAngemon had tensed a little at hearing him. Then, he relaxed.

When, the lines had been formed another group had started to make its appearance. They were only five of them, but several of their underlings had sounded horns and trumpets into the air. Flags of red, blue and gold had whipped in the sky, with more banners filling the sky. It was almost like a parade with the Royal Knights walking together.

The first one was Sir Omnimon. He was regal and stood the tallest with white amour and a red cape bellowing behind him. On the left was his second in command, Alphamon. He wore black amour and his amber eyes sparked showing enthusiasm and confidence. Then, a white and red digimon with a shield was there, with a white helm covering their face. A pink warrior and a blue and gold warrior stood behind them. All of them wore blank expressions on their faces except for the Alphamon. It seemed he was too excited to conceal his expressions.

"Well, look at who showed up." taunted Daemon. He snapped his fingers and floated over to Omnimon. "Omni-kins!"

"That's Sir Omnimon to you." his robotic voice replied. The Demon Leader shrugged.

"Whatever, ready to fight big, bad and ugly?"

"I didn't think we were fighting you lot today." the pink warrior commented in a snarky voice.

"We are not going start fighting." scolded Lindenmon. He floated over to Omnimon and gave a polite bow. "It is an honour to be fighting with you knights. Please, let us aide you."

Daemon narrowed his eyes. What was that angel doing? Buttering them up before the battle? What purpose does that serve?

"Of course you would aide us," replied Omnimon. "We are the alpha, and the omega. We are the beginning and end of this world. We are the Royal Knights and with that we carry the power of the sovereigns on our backs to destroy this UltimateChaosmon. Now pray tell, where is this beast?"

"Behold, I am here!" a voice echoed.

The valley by where everyone stood had warped and become disfigured. Crumbling land and data had changed and melted into a new being. It was a lonely figure at first, seemingly human like with legs, arms, and an ambiguous body. But then, monstrous hands forms out of him and become so giant that his body was shrunk in comparison. The largest hand was a dark blue one with a gold band around his wrist. Red fire wrapped around in almost a shawl effect, that twisted and turned like it was alive itself. A purple dragon head presented itself on the left while a orange lion head came on the right. Disfigured and radiating of pure chaos-the environment had changed as well.

The sky had turned dark-with shades of green lightening cracking into the ground. The land had turned dark murky shades of purple, brown, and blue and translucent showing data travelling through it. Even the air smelled different, like rotten eggs and sea salt. The combination was revolting and made several fighters gag.

"IN POSITION!" cried Omnimon. He and the knights had lined up, with trumpets playing in the background.

"Squad, form!" commanded Lindenmon. The angels took orders seriously and in perfect harmony lined up in a battalion.

"Get ready, guys!" shouted Daemon. The others got in position. Beelzemon swiped his claws, Lilithmon took off her purple cloak, Leviamon and Babramon had joined together while Belphemon had awoken and transformed into a terrifying beast of hell and hound. Lucemon glowed and Daemon burned his cloak to reveal his true form: a demon white horns sprouting upwards, three eye balls and teeth so large and sharp that they could cut through the hardest alloy known to mon. His red furry legs and arms had demon scripture on them and one of his claws was longer than the others, to provide more lethal destruction. His wings had spread wide, black and violet with red claws protruding out the them. A dark ring cuffed around his ankle glowed and red symbols appeared on it.

"Woah, back up you turned into this wicked monster that looked like an actual demon?" Luke asked, looking interested.

"Well yeah, of course I did. I was a Demon Lord," Bakemon rolled his eyes. "Honestly Luke, don't you pay attention?"

"So what do I call you tiny, putrid, insects?" asked UltimateChaosmon. He gave a loud chuckle. "Are you supposed to be the defenders of the digital world?"

"You can call us whatever you want! We're just here to kick your ass and delete you!" shouted Daemon. "Attack!"

When they say chaos is war, they really mean it. Bodies just flying into the monster, attacking left right and centre. The center body was well protected and it seemed by the black pellets that could delete you from a single touch, to the massive blue hand that had already deleted the pink warrior from the Knights, every inch of UltimateChaosmon was deadly.

Daemon had lost track of where the others had gone. He was too busy clawing away a fiery flame that had acted as a shawl around the digimon. It whipped and was very fast, something that Daemon did not lack. The two were at untraceable speeds, appearing one second in the sky and behind the battle in another making forceful contact. Each clash enveloped in black and red fire.

"Flame Inferno." hissed Daemon and his fire became his whim. It appeared as a form of a demon itself and smashed into the fiery veil that covered UltimateChaosmon. He chuckled,

"It will take more than some puny flame to hurt me."

"Well, how about this! Double Dust!" two fists full of magical energy unleashed themselves onto UltimateChaosmon, in a flurry of swings and swipes. Daemon relentlessly punched, and decked giving all he had into his swings. As the swings kept coming, the dodges grew greater, and the openings to counter were becoming apparent as well.

"Grand Cross!"

A onslaught of light and fire had touched the fiery veil in order to give Daemon time to back off. Lucemon floated above, looking angry at the digimon.

"You need to focus on that body! We will handle these things. Go!"

Daemon flew though the battle and onslaught to make a beeline for the silver body in the centre of all the madness of the battle. It seemed Lindenmon had made it to the centre as well as Omnimon too.

"Oh, an angel, a demon and a knight walk into the bar!" Daemon cackled. He saw the other two looked unamused. "What? It was funny."

"Let's attack." shouted Lindenmon. He sent his translucent hands outwards. "Hands of Fate!"

A golden blade came out of the Greymon hand that Omnimon had. Complex digirunes glowed on the sword and then he sprang into action getting ready to swipe at the centre of UltimateChaosmon.

"Transcendent Sword!"

"Flame Inferno!" Daemon attacked sending his hellfire into the depths as well.

It went quick, how the odd body shaped vaguely like a man had dodged Omnimon's swing and then touched his forehead. Then, the Royal Knight had disappeared into data. Just like that. Lindenmon stopped his attack and flapped his wings back, looking appalled at what had happened.

"Two knights down." smirked UltimateChaosmon. "I think I'll take a Demon Lord now. Watch."

Then, Leviamon and Babramon were no more. The two were eaten alive by the hound of fire protruding from his body. They didn't even have time to scream as they dissolved into data and were absorbed into UltimateChaosmon. Daemon let out a howl of fury. Pure and intense fury.

"YOU WILL PAY!" He launched forward giving all he had. Red haze clouded his vision. Anger was all he knew, he felt, he consumed. It was his wrath that made him famous, and most powerful. Strikes had clouds of fire envelop out of the Demon Lord, creating mini tornados of heat and fire that would burn the code off any digimon that wasn't mega.

Then, a Holy Angel had fallen. Urielmon had shoved Lindenmon out of the way at the last second, before he was crushed by the giant dark blue hand that had the golden bangle on his wrist. Lindenmon outreached his hand.

"Urielmon!"

Then, the Holy Angel was no more. The rapier he carried fell to the ground, which was dissolved data at this point.

Daemon could see they were losing. He let out a ghastly wail of anger. It wasn't supposed to go like this!

"You...you killed him! I will make you pay!" screeched Lindenmon. He raised his hands and a ball of pure white power had formed. "Linden Blossoms!"

The attack had done some damage but nothing special. Daemon, engulfed in more fury had let himself go. All the anger, all the hate, all the fury flowed in his code and core. This was all he was, all he was to be. He was true to his sin.

It had come down to the final select few of each group. Alphamon and Mangamon from the Royal Knights. Daemon, Lucemon, Lilithmon and Belphemon from the Demon Lords, and finally Lindenmon, the pink dragon known as Mangadramon, CalvisAngemon and the red haired angel with green amour and gold wings.

"We're all that's left..." whispered Lilithmon looking shaken at what was left of Beelzemon. A cracked piece of his purple mask that even then dissolved into UltimateChaosmon. She seemed a little choked at the fall of the Demon of Gluttony but then covered it up by diving back into battle. That was the last time Daemon saw Lilithmon as she went so deep into UltimateChaosmon, that it was impossible to sense her.

The next series of clashes and fights were taking a toll on them. Daemon became more and more frustrated by the turn of events on the battle. Finally, he had one last resort-a final plan. But the price, it was a terrible one to pay. He looked at Lucemon as if he needed some guidance but the Demon Lord of Pride simply nodded his head. He agreed. That was all the confidence he needed.

It began slowly, like a flame that burned within his core. Then, he expanded it and grew it to become larger, and larger, engulfing his body slowly and surly. He became a shining beacon and he could feel everything heat up inside him. This was it. His final attack. The one that would take out everything and use the power around him as a collateral attack that doubled the power that was there. Basically with several mega digimon and one mega digimon that absorbed so much it was going to be a nuclear digimon attack blast. Everything around here would be deleted and gone.

"Agol's Flame." he whispered. Then, everything became white and he felt nothing.

The next thing he knew was that he was floating. Floating in a sea of data. It carried him for ages, for he didn't want to open his eyes and believe the awful fact that he had survived, and failed his Demon Lords-his friends. Then, when he did he discovered the price he paid...

"I had changed into this form. Never able to gain my mega form again." Bakemon hung his head. "You see, even if I wanted to the Demon Lords were destroyed, along with those Holy Angels and Royal Knights. I killed them all with my stupid kamikaze attack! So...I wandered and forgot. Tried to gain more power to try and digivolve but battle after battle, it wouldn't work. It was like the data wouldn't want to absorb into me. Then, ages passed and I met you guys...and now here we are." The spectre digimon looked up. "And that's my story from what I remember."

The room was silent as the group was absorbing what Bakemon had told them. It was a lot to take in.

"So, you can't change back into Daemon?" Luke finally scooted over to his digimon.

"Afraid not but since I met you...maybe anything's possible. That crest of yours turns me into Phantomon. Maybe you and I can figure out how to get me back to normal-er-as normal as I was. I was kind of a sexy hunk."

The others groaned at Bakemon's goofy grin. He was back to normal.

"So, I thought the Demon Lords were...evil." Ally put a finger on her lips. "Like Gazimon said they were what evil represented."

"Evil? Well, we might have been jerks now and then, but I wouldn't say we were completely evil. If anything, those angels were shady as hell. I heard a few things from them and none of it sounded very 'angelic'. We just were tired of how virus digimon were treated. Instead of like actual digimon, we were deleted like we were a sickness or a problem. Can you imagine how it was having no one sticking up for those digimon? The ones who couldn't defend themselves against the angels or knights when they were attacked for doing absolutely nothing?"

"So you made the group to help protect." Tiguramon said.

"It was me, Lucemon, and BlackGatomon-well, Lilithmon. Lucemon was cast out of the angels for standing up to Lindenmon and I found him. He was weird but we worked well. Then, our group grew and we picked up every other Demon Lord. From Leviamon to our youngest, Belphemon."

"But, now that UltimateChaosmon is back. We have a problem: Gazimon is wanted and I'm sure he isn't going to be happy to hear you survived." Marianna frowned. "We need a plan."

"I'm in favour of going to the digital world!" Cam announced. He was met with immediate uproar ranging from Luke, to Ally, to PJ and even to Tiguramon.

"I do not agree with that. The last time we were there, it almost killed us." the tiger digimon growled.

"Well, I don't want to sit around and have these super powerful digimon to come into our world and hurt people who have nothing to do with this!" Cam retorted. "It's bullshit-we should go-"

"Cam, it's too dangerous! We almost died last time-"

"We can get back up. Get Lindy and her boyfriend to bring the others with them-"

"-and you think they don't have their own problems in Japan?" Luke asked. "Lindy told us that there were powerful digimon going there too. Who knows she might be involved in a battle right now!"

Arguments and altercations had risen and bubbled over. The latina Tamer grit her teeth and clenched her firsts.

"CAN YOU ALL JUST SHUT UP!?" she screamed. Tiguramon let out a bone chilling roar and silenced the group. Panting, the dark skinned Tamer stood up. "We are going to wait for Lindy to come back. Then, we are going to decide then. She's just as much part of this group and maybe we can figure out how Beelzemon's involved as a Demon Lord as well."

"I was wondering if he was getting those messages too..." Bakemon stroked his ghostly chin. "You know...the only one who I can think off the top of my head that manipulates dreams like that is Lilithmon but...I was positive no one else made it out of that blast."

"You mean there could have been survivors?" Luke asked.

"Anything's possible after all I've seen. But...I can't imagine any of my friends surviving that attack...it even damaged UltimateChaosmon to the point he was locked away."

The group retired for the meeting. Before Ally and Gazimon left, Marianna told them to keep a close eye out and not to wander too far away from them. The short Tamer hugged her partner close to her chest feeling suddenly afraid of the circumstances. Just how many digimon were going to come for her?

Back at the apartment, Bakemon had departed for his spot on the couch by Tiguramon and closed his spectre eyes. Perhaps if he dreamed tonight, the chance that the Demon of Lust contacting him would happen.

Anything is possible right? He slumbered and let his mind wander. It was about a few hours later that he felt something-it was chilling to his core and made him snap open his eyes and lurch up.

It was Lilithmon's voice and it was clear as a bell in his mind. She was alive...

"UltimateChaosmon is coming...and he has us." she whispered into his mind. It echoed faintly as he woke up. Relieved but weary of the caution that his friend had given him, he had laid back down.

A spark of hope ignited in him. If Lilithmon had contacted him-his Lilithmon, there was a chance his old friend Lucemon had survived as well. The pleasant thought was interrupted by another grave one;

Who else had survived that blast that UltimateChaosmon could have control over?
