Chapter Thirty Three: Dress Disasters.
13:00
Hermione smiled as Pansy and Ginny walked up to her followed by Narcissa Malfoy.
"Why are they here?" Pansy asked, "I thought we were dress shopping?"
"We are they're here because they're my Groomsmen, and they'll escort you down the aisle." She gestured to Harry and Ron on either side of her.
"Okay."
"Shall we?" Hermione asked.
"Where are mum and dad?" Ginny asked as they walked towards Hogsmeade.
"They'll meet us there. Fleur invited them to lunch so they're a little late."
"Okay."
"Is that your ring?" Pansy asked grabbing her hand.
"Yep, every Malfoy bride has the same one." She giggled, "Thank you Narcissa."
"You're welcome dear."
"It's beautiful!" Ginny gasped.
"I know, he proposed last night! Well, officially anyway."
"Tell us everything!" Pansy commanded.
"Every detail!" Ginny demanded.
"We were just…talking and he just did! He was all romantic too."
"What were the exact words?" Pansy cooed.
"Well, he said about us not having a great past but a perfect future. Then he said he would love me every second forever. Then he told me he loved me." She blushed crimson at this, "His last line was of course 'will you marry me'."
"Oh, I never knew he could be so romantic."
"Me either." Ginny commented.
"Congratulations Hermione." Narcissa smiled solemnly before hugging her.
"Thank you." She beamed back, "We're here." She said as they came to Madam Millers-Hogsmeade's dressmakers.
"Are you going to go Muggle or Witch Hermione?" Ginny asked as they stepped in.
"I'm not sure yet."
"Hermione!" Molly Weasley engulfed her in a hug.
"Hey." She nodded at Arthur who was talking to Harry and Ron.
"Hello, I'm Madam Miller, nice to meet you. Mrs Malfoy, lovely to see you again."
"Good afternoon." Narcissa nodded a greeting.
"How may I help you all today?"
"I'm here to get my Wedding dress." Hermione answered.
"Ah, yes, many a girl has come in here recently for robes for such an occasion, this way." She gestured to them to go further into the shop, "I'll measure you first then you can see the designs."
"Do you do Muggle styles?"
"Hm…I think I have a few designs I've picked up from women in the past."
"I'd like to see them as well please."
"Of course." She flicked her wand and suddenly everyone was being measured, "Will it be white?"
"Yes please."
"Here." She levitated some parchment with pictures of the designs on over to Hermione, "Anything else?"
"We'll let you know." She nodded before retreating into a corner with her group.
"I like that." "That one's lovely." "What about this one?" "Maybe this one?" "This one?"
"I've decided!" She announced before taking the parchment and handing it to Madam Miller, "These please." She handed her the money before she gestured to everyone to follow her out, "Thank you." She called as she shut the door.
"Which did you pick?" Pansy asked.
"I decided my dress and yours and Ginny's are a surprise." She grinned, "Now let's meet Draco and Blaise in the Three Broomsticks for butterbeers and plan this." Comments about what the wedding might be like flew through the air at Hermione leaving her overwhelmed and it suddenly reminded her of her parents. A wave of grief gushed over her as she was reminded her parents would never be there for her at her wedding day. "Excuse me." Hermione gasped and rushed away and ran down the bustling street. She hurried through the crowds and into the deserted area where you could look over at the Shrieking Shack. Hermione collapsed against the fence and wept for the lose her parents.
Little did she know two people had followed her there.
"Mudblood." One hissed.
"What?" She spun around and stood to defend herself verbally, "Crabbe? Goyle?"
"You ruined his life." Goyle growled-he was the one to speak before.
"Who's?"
"Draco's. You ruined him as a pureblood."
"No I didn't."
"Because of you he's contaminated as a Veela, but we can fix that. We can make him pure again."
"What the hell are you going on about? Veela is a gene, you can't just fix it!"
"Then we can get to him by getting to you." Hermione cottoned on quickly and quickly grabbed her wand from her pocket. Crabbe and Goyle copied.
"You do realise he'll come if you hurt me?"
"Then you'll have to die won't you."
"If I die so will he!" She yelled, "You can't kill him!"
"Why? Veela's polluted the Wizarding population. They shouldn't exist!"
"Expelliarmus!" Crabbe roared.
"Protego! Expelliarmus! Expelliarmus!" Hermione threw the spells out. Having caught both wands in one hand and having hers in the other she couldn't protect herself as Crabbe charged at her and rammed her so she tumbled through the gap in that gate and landed with a crack on the head.
"That's what you get Mudblood!" Goyle called as Crabbe straightened up and sneered at her.
Help me Draco. She thought at her vision wavered and her eyelids drooped.
Then there was a fierce growl and running feet before two heavy objects landed.
"Hermione!" Draco suddenly appeared next to her.
"Draco." She sighed and pressed her severely grazed hand to his cheek. Noticing how her ring sparkled as blood seeped down her fingers.
"I'm here; it's going to be alright. Blaise get Pansy to tell everyone what's happening and to meet us at Madam Pomfrey's!"
"Blaise is here?" She mumbled.
"Yes...Blaise bind them and apparate to outside Hogwarts, we'll deal with them afterwards right now we have to help Hermione!"
"I'm fine Draco, nothing happened." She whimpered as he picked her up. Her eyes closed finally.
"Wake up!" Draco screamed feebly at her, "Don't sleep yet. Just a couple more minutes please."
"Night Draco." She slurred before blacking out.
