The Saga: Successors

Chapter 18: A Decision to Make

The original Tamers met up in Shinjuku park-a now staple of where meetings would be held, or various events would take place. Standing there first was Henry and Terriermon whom were trying to convince Suzie and Lopmon to go find a swing set to play on while they talked.

"Henry, I'm twelve-not eight," Suzie frowned. "I'll just go over my lines for my play and Lopmon can tell me any juicy details."

"I-I think she meant that if anything interesting comes up, we will listen to it." Lopmon corrected, looking a little embarrassed. "Besides, she thinks Mako will come and she wanted to ask him on a-"

"Lopmon, sush! You know that Henry and daddy won't let me go out with him." Suzie grumbled, giving a scorn look. Henry shrugged.

"I'm standing by it. You almost got hurt the last time you went out with him and he lied about that demon bike."

"Yeah and besides, you don't want to date Mako-that means Impmon will have to tag along." Terriermon quipped up.

Next were Rika and Renamon whom was oddly walking with Ryo and Monodramon. They were talking quietly with a few small jokes from the elder Tamer and a crack of a smile from Rika. They exchanged hellos with Henry and asked if anyone was going to make it.

"According to Takato, we're going to get everyone. Including Lindy and the twins."

Rika made a face.

"Lindy and the twins never come. Does she know-"

"Lindy knows nothing about Impmon's past." Henry frowned. "I'm curious how he'll tell her."

Minutes later, Takato, Guilmon, and Jeri showed up. They had a gloomy Kazu and Gaurdomon trailing behind who uncharastically made a lazy wave and sat by a tree.

"What's with him?" Ryo asked.

"Him and Kenta had a fight dealing with that Demon Lord and AncientMermaidmon." Takato answered. "I texted Kenta to come but he seems pretty upset about Patamon getting hurt."

Then, it was finally Impmon and Lindy with the twins following behind. It looked like the two hyrbids were in another argument as they parted ways looking more agitated than before. The twins were more excited to see Suzie in the group and made a beeline towards her.

"Alright, I think everyone's here." Takato chimed in but then he saw Kenta and Tokomon in the corner of his eye walking towards the park. "Well, I think we have a lot of discuss. Um, maybe we could talk about-"

"The fact there's a freaking Demon Lord here! I'm holding it and we have no idea what we're going to do about it!" Kazu started to yell, however he looked at the resting Belphmon and made it into a loud whisper. "Besides, I can't keep it at my place. My mom is going to kill me I have another digimon in the house."

"We can take it!" Ai and Mako chimed but Lindy shut it down.

"Absolutely not! No way I'm letting that thing get near my Tamers."

"Hate to say it, I agree with toots. Not happenin'." Impmon agreed.

"Impmon, do you recognize him?" Guilmon asked. The imp shrugged.

"Never seen him. I guess he's one of these Demon Lords I'm supposta be, eh? Looks like a pipsqueak."

"You didn't see him grow fifty freaking feet tall and look like he belonged in hell." Kazu glared.

"Well, I could take him." Ryo offered. "I mean, if something does go wrong, Monodramon and I could handle it for a bit. I think he's a heavy sleeper anyways. You heard Kazu tell us how much effort it took to wake him up."

"Speaking of Demon Lords," Terriermon waved. "Henry and I found something about them! Apparently, they're a legend in the human world!"

Henry took out a few papers with printed symbols and pictures on them. Many of them held biblical paintings with classical demons that held pitch forks and spears jabbing at people.

"There are seven deadly sins associated to each demon that control a vice a human has in life," Henry begun. "There is pride, envy, lust, greed, sloth, wrath, and finally gluttony. Each of these sins come with their own symbols and definitions. Now here is where it get's interesting-" Henry placed down a paper of the sloth. A large beast with huge horns and glowing red eyes was the picture on the paper. "I have a hunch that the guy over there is our demon of sloth."

"That and he literally said it." muttered Kazu, folding his arms. No one paid attention to his remark.

"So, that leaves us with six more demon digimon." Takato said, puzzled by the new information. Impmon made a grunt.

"Five. I'm one of these things too. And if what toots told me earlier was right, then there's another one in Canada too."

"What?" Takato and the others looked at Lindy. She crossed her arms.

"Apparently, Marianna texted me about Bakemon. Turns out he was Daemon, the demon of wrath."

"So-" Henry shoved the papers to the hybrid. She pointed at each one.

"Daemon, the demon of wrath. That over there is Belphmon, the demon of sloth. Impy here is Beelzemon the demon of gluttony. There was a Leviamon, who was envy. Babramon was greed. Someone named Lilithmon who was lust and finally, Lucemon-the demon of pride."

"And UltimateChaosmon wants these Demon Lords under his control?" Rika pieced it all together.

"Yes, and something to do with your friend's Gazimon-who may or may not be the seer." Henry answered. "She knew a lot about this prophecy too."

"It's looking like we need to go to the digital world more and more." Guilmon turned to his partner. "I don't like it as much as you but what if something bad happens here? I don't want UltimateChaosmon to destroy Guilmon bread!"

"But...we signed a paper saying we won't go." Mako frowned. "And we had to super promise our parents we would never ever go in there."

"And we would be so grounded if we went back." Ai added.

"But...what if digimon in there need our help?" Suzie asked. "It's not fair-we can't just leave them with this bad guy!"

"Well, I think we should ignore what stupid Yu says and go in!" Terriermon chimed, fisting the air. He jabbed a few times, pretending to box an imaginary digimon. "And we give the old one two-Henry just say the word!"

It was a tough decision. Leave for the digital world again and risk breaking a ton of rules. Or stay and let the digital world fend on its own and also risk it infecting what was in the real world.

"Here's what we're going to do," Takato frowned. He ripped one of the papers up into a dozen pieces and gave them to everyone. "Say yes or no to going to the digital world." He took Ryo's hat and placed it on the ground. "That way, no one gets grilled and we get to vote."

Everyone accepted their papers. Several moments were quiet as everyone wrote down their answers. Some like Suzie and Lopmon were quick to throw theirs into the hat. Others took time like Rika and Renamon. Finally, the last ones were Impmon, Lindy, Ai and Mako who all held a long talk before making each of their decisions. Slowly, Takato pulled each one out.

It was a close call. Nine to eight were yes to going to the digital world. Several made a sigh of relief and others looked uncomfortable with the notion. Takato stood up.

"We will do it like last time. Some of us stay here and some of us will go in. We have way more experience then last time and now we have an idea of what is going on. I want to volunteer myself and Gulimon to go in."

Ryo stood up,

"To our vote, I will stay with Monodramon. I can look after Belphmon and keep him safe from UltimateChaosmon here."

Rika and Renamon volunteered to go to the digital world obviously. She made a point that UltimateChaosmon was a ticking time bomb.

"This guy is going to keep sending digimon our way and we don't even know how do deal with it? Who knows what else he has up his sleeve?"

"He could even have some Demon Lords under his control." Renamon pointed out. "It would be wise to at least scout out his lair.

Henry and Terriermon hesitated, looking back at Suzie and Lopmon.

"Maybe we should stay back...I don't feel comfortable leaving the younger ones on their own with just Ryo."

"That's okay because we're coming along!" Ai chimed in, looking pleased. Mako and Suzie both gave sound of agreement.

"Oh-I don't think so!" Lindy cried. "You two are not going in the digital world-

"But, Lindy-" Mako whined, pulling out his D-Arc.

"Don't you but me, mister." she frowned. "Impy agrees with me-we are going to stay put, I will go back to Canada and that is that."

"Wait, toots-you're still going back?" Impmon frowned. "Captain obvious here but we got a freaking problem! You want to just fly back to that stupid place and leave us?"

Lindy glared,

"Well, excuse me but I am committed to my education-"

"That's bullshit-"

"Don't you dare talk to me about bullshit!" argued Lindy, looking even more cross. The two hybrids were in each others face looking angrier by the second. It was making everyone tread carefully in the next few words. Finally, Lindy stormed off to a tree.

"They've been doing nothing but fighting since that weird horse guy fought us." Mako explained to the others. "I hope they make up soon."

The teams were made. Jeri, Ryo, Monodramon, Henry, Terriermon, Ai, Mako, Impmon, Lindy, Suzie and Lopmon were staying in the human world. Rest were going to the digital world soon to check things out. They needed a few things such as a D-Port and a good window of opportunity to set out. This was going to be a huge break in the rules Yu set out for the group. We're they ready to face the consequences?

The groups were all parting their separate ways. Takato went up to Kenta to talk to him privately.

"Hey, I'm glad you made it out. How's Tokomon?"

Kenta sighed and lifted a blanket where a sleeping pink chubby rookie lay. He was breathing but seemed deep in his slumber.

"He's exhausted from that battle and I almost got him killed." the glasses on the Tamer slid down his nose as he hung his head low. "I should have done something."

"Kenta, there was nothing! And look, he's still here. Trust me, I know how it feels when you think you'll loose your digimon. Guilmon had near death experiences to the wazoo." Takato looked at Guilmon who was chatting with Terriermon light heartingly. "When we go to the digital world, we can find a way to return Tokomon back to normal. Sound good?"

"Yeah...I guess." Kenta sighed. "And I'm still mad at Kazu for the record!"

The goggled Tamer put his hands up.

"I know, I know. I'm not getting between that one. You two find a time to talk it out."

The walk home for Ai, Mako, Lindy and Impmon held tension. Ai and Mako would try to make light talk about their school work but Impmon seemed very uninterested while Lindy would just make half hearted comments here and there. At the house, the twins went up to do some homework and get ready for bed.

Lindy sighed and turned to Impmon,

"Impy-"

"No, I still don't want to talk to ya-leave me alone." he snapped. "I'm still pissed at ya for leavin' us."

"Leaving you? I'm doing something with my life! I don't know if you forgot but I got half of my life taken away by being a hybrid!"

"Well join the freakin' club!" Impmon waved his arms. "I lost half of my life too! You don't see me buyin' a plane ticket to New York now do ya?"

"That's not fair. What would I do here? Just take Ai and Mako to school and back? What about when they grow up?" Lindy marched forward. Tears threatened to prick out of her eyes. "They're growing up and we're stuck being teenagers by day and digimon by night. That's not the kind of life I wanted."

"Oh yeah? Tell me what kind of life you wanted. Please-I'm dyin' ta know."

"I want to have a job like a normal woman. I want to have a family who doesn't keep secrets from me like you and the group does!" Lindy screamed. "I've been patient, I haven't prodded but I can't keep turning a blind eye! What are you hiding from me? I have seen everyone look at me wearily and whenever certain topics come up like Jeri or Leomon everyone gets awkwardly quiet!"

Impmon flinched. This was it. The supposed time to tell her his darkest secret. He had been carefully avoiding the moment since they were together, trying to avoid the topic at all costs, not let on his nightmares were brutal and not get this sad look on his face whenever Jeri was mentioned. Or Leomon for that matter.

But there was no way she would be happy to hear about the fact he murdered Leomon. She would never let him hold her or even take care of Ai and Mako. She would probably call him a monster.

"Toots," sighed Impmon. "I...I just ain't ready yet. It's got something to do with Jeri back before we met-can ya give me a little more time to think about it?"

Lindy didn't waver for a minute. She shifted her weight to walk towards him and hug him.

"Leomon dying really did get to you, didn't it? Were you two close?"

Close?! Impmon tensed. In no way or shape were they close. He never even met the guy until he killed him. The way he thought about that made it even more pathetic. A guy who Leomon never met and his first impression was to kill the Tamers was to help Impmon out. How much of a loser was he to just stab him?

"Yeah...sorta."

Lindy smiled.

"I had a friend like that. Ethan was my best friend before he died. I understand how hard it is to move on from someone like that. Or the decisions you made before he died..." she had a glazed look over her eyes, remembering the awful memory she kept trying to forget. Yelling...Ethan's eyes widening...red mass eating him away...then nothingness. A flash of panic passed her face but she corrected it back to her smile.

Impmon felt curious. She never talked about Ethan but she had many photos of him in her room. He learned he died during the D-Reaper in Canada and they were good friends but she simply changed the subject before he could learn more.

"Just know that I'm here for you Impy. It sucks when people die, especially our best friends. I just don't you keeping secrets from me," Lindy gave him a soft kiss on the lips. "Or from Ai and Mako."

Ai and Mako. God, Impmon never wanted to tell his Tamers that awful truth. It would shatter him just thinking about them looking at him in fear. In fact...that battle with Uchchaishravamon he saw distinctively the uneasy look on the twins. He knew he lost it a little when he recognized that damn horse. But, he couldn't help it-it was like a piece of his past gripped him and he could only see red.

"I don't wanna keep secrets from ya too, toots. I'll uh, try better." Impmon felt heavy. It was exhausting getting into arguments with your girlfriend. Then, he remembered a piece of the argument Lindy said. Have a family? He asked her and she blushed red.

"I-I I mean...well. If we could have a family. I-I mean I want to finish school and be married first and have a home. That's awhile from now and only if we're both ready...and able to. I don't even know right now it's even possible for...me...to..." she trailed off looking more embarrassed by the second.

"Want to watch a movie and forget this awkward conversation?" he jerked a thumb.

"Please." she pleaded.

He laughed and the two went downstairs to curl up to a good movie. Upstairs, Ai and Mako went back to their bedroom looking contemplative.

Takato and Guilmon first heard the D-Arc scream a high pitch whine sound as soon as they bit into their dinner. His mother and father looked at it.

"You...really have to go?" his mother hesitated, wringing the towel.

Takato shrugged.

"It's a really powerful one that almost hurt Kazu and Kenta. I don't think we can avoid it. I'll bring Rika or Henry with me."

Guilmon inhaled his food and in minutes, the two were out on the patrol. It seemed a little far-almost in northern Shinjuku. He texted Rika and Henry for some assistance and made their way.

"Takato, we never talked about our dreams to the group." frowned Guilmon. "How come?"

To be honest, the Tamer had forgotten about them. The strain between Kazu and Kenta, Lindy and Impmon arguing and the general chaos that comes with the meetings had brushed it aside. He shrugged.

"I dunno boy. It's just us-isn't it? And Jeri thinks its about this whole UltimateChaosmon business."

"I remember you telling me about you used to dream about me and I came true." pointed out Guilmon. Takato smiled.

"Well, maybe I'm a psychic. I should start charging if all my dreams do come true."

Rika replied to the call and they met up with the other two outside of Shinjuku Aquarium. It was closed at night but the glow from inside the building was bright. Something was going on in there.

"Renamon, any way in?" Rika asked.

"There is a roof hatch. We can access it."

A climb later, and almost an episode of Guilmon falling off the ladder, they opened the hatch and jumped down into a stairwell of the aquarium. They ventured into the jelly first exhibition and walked past them. Six feet high glass tanks were around them all with glowing rainbow colours of jellyfish floating around. The floor was tiled into glittering blue and green pieces making it seem like a ocean. If not for the fact that AncientMermaidmon was in here, it would seem pretty.

"I tried to find my dad." Rika blurted out abruptly. Surprised, Takato turned his head.

"Oh...kay." he wasn't very good at reading his friend sometimes. Was she being casual or was there something more to this? He asked her how it went.

"I...I didn't do it. I saw him in the driveway with a kid and his wife probably and-what's the point? He hasn't contacted me since I was young-he forgot me and moved on. That little girl is his. I was just..." Rika sniffed and before Takato could see, she turned the other way. "Whatever. Anyway, since I'm still working on the 'friends tell other friends shit that bother's them' I wanted to tell you that."

"Well, thank you. I'm glad you told me. You know we wouldn't judge you or anything like that. Plus we're your family too." Takato smiled.

"Stupid goggle head." smirked the red haired Tamer. She heard her D-Arc whine louder and stopped in her tracks. Renamon let out a low hum.

"She's here. I sense her close by."

"Okay, let's biomerge and we-" Takato flinched as Rika slugged him in the arm.

"You goggle headed idiot-we need information out of her. We are going to destroy this place too if we biomerge! Do you want to foot a bill for an entire freaking aquarium! God, you never think."

"You could have just told me that without insulting me...or hitting me." he pouted.

In the oyster exhibit, was a shallow pool full of opened oyster shells with the insides missing. They followed it to a lone high rock where there was AncientMermaidmon feasting on another oyster. She cracked the shell open easily and slurped the insides up.

"Okay, gross." Takato made a face.

"Sh." Renamon and Rika turned around.

However, the mega was already aware and glanced up from her meal. Wiping her dirty face with her arm she made a sly grin.

"Well, well, well. Look who decided to show up." she made herself look twice at the group. "Actually-scratch that. I have no idea who ya'll are. If you ain't those two pests who I had dealt with or that Demon Lord who totally didn't beat me, do me a sweet favour," she then changed her face into that of a monster with red glowing eyes, fangs, and elongated face. "and get out!"

"I think it's time to pull you off that buffet. You're getting a little big." Rika smirked, taking out a few cards. "Renamon, walk all over her."

"She might be a bit heavy to carry. Maybe she should have went on those diet oysters." Renamon bought into the act and flicked her tail. AncientMermaidmon made a blood curling screech and dove into the shallow water which started to churn and answer to the mega's call.

"You bitches will pay for that!" she started the charge.

MATRIX DIGIVOLUTION

"Renamon matrix digivolve into..Taomon."

DIGIVOLUTION

"Guilmon digivolve into...Growlmon."

Takato was uneasy with the choice. A champion and ultimate facing a mega? He would have been more comfortable going to Gallantmon.

"She's bad tempered, so she'll make mistakes." Rika dismissed his worry and picked out a card.

DIGI-MODIFY

Rika slid the card.

"Digi-Modify! Power boost activate!"

"Talisman of Light!"

The paintbrush Taomon held went to work. It countered the water, making it violently splashed everywhere but on the teens. Growlmon attempted to follow up with a slash, but AncientMermaidmon swung her trident and he landed into a sting ray aquarium. He yelped, and jumped out complaining about the stings.

"Ugh, just hang in there Growlmon!" Takato shuffled his cards. Growlmon was still pretty big for this area. He was powerful, but in small spaces it was nearly impossible for him to fight. What he needed was Gallantmon-where they could have more control, or-

"Got it!" Takato gasped. It was a shrink card. He swiped it.

DIGI-MODIFY

"Digi-modify! Petitemon Card Activate!"

Growlmon-who was almost a ten feet had shrunk to four feet. He looked very adorable but held the same amount of power and strength in his body. With a word of thanks, Growlmon sprang back into the fight and gave a good kick to AncientMermaidmon into the tank of stingrays.

"Ow, ow, ow!" hissed AncientMermaidmon. She peeled off a sting ray off her face and gave the group a sneer. "You two ain't no match for me, sweet things"

"Not if we can help it!" Rika tossed Takato a card. "Use this!"

Takato looked at it, it was a Super Charger card. Transferred the powers of the ally digimon to other teammates-

"Hurry up!" Rika tensed as Taomon was knocked back by AncientMermaidmon's counter slap.

Takato slid it through his D-Arc. His attention snapped to his partner who had vanished.

"G-Growlmon?" he looked wildly around for his partner. Taomon had vanished as well and Rika looked like her eyes were about to pop out of her head.

"What the hell happened?!" she cried.

"We're down here!" a small voice called out.

The duo looked below and saw that barely ten inches was Taomon and Growlmon. They almost looked like action figures rather than live digimon. Takato cupped his hands and allowed the digimon to jump on him.

"Why are you guys so tiny?"

"That card did something to us." Taomon frowned. "Are you sure you read that card completely?"

Rika swiped the card from Takato and her eyes darted right to left reading the card. Then she let out a low groan and held her head,

"Dammit, it doubles and combines other cards! How didn't I read this one?!"

"Huh-"

"Googlehead, we turned our partners into supercharged tiny digimon! And we have a mega on our heads-"

Wait a minute-Takato and Rika spun around. AncientMermaidmon hadn't smack talked or attacked since the card activated...

Then they heard a shriek and looked over at the Stingray pool. There in all her glory was six inches of AncientMermaidmon, looking unamused being a plaything of a stingray.

"Dammit! Why am I so tiny?!" she squeaked, and the mega tossed the aquatic animal away. "I'm not Irving, get your damn fins off me!"

She jumped out of the pool and lunged at Taomon first. Reflexes overtook the Tamers as they jumped back from the miniature battle. Taomon unleashed her paintbrush,

"Talisman of Light!"

The attack worked and Growlmon followed through,

"Pyro Blaster!"

AncientMermaidmon flew back into a wall and let out a low groan. This was not going well. She needed an edge...

Raising her trident, she made the pools of water around in various exhibits swirl and jump out of the tanks. In seconds, Takato and Rika were leg deep in water. This meant Taomon and Growlmon were submerged in water. Panic unleashed itself into the Tamers.

"Oh, shit!" Takato dove his head into the water to find Growlmon. Luckily, he saw his miniature dinosaur and fished him out. "You okay, buddy?"

"Ugh, can I be normal sized now?" Growlmon asked, choking up some water.

Rika tried to grab Taomon but a mysterious current captured her and sent her into AncientMermaidmon clutches. Water engulfed the ultimate and it was starting to drown her.

"No!" gasped Rika. They were a little stuck with ideas but maybe Biomerging could work. She pointed her D-Arc at her partner and started the process.

BIOMERGE DIGIVOLUTION

"Wait! Wait!" Takato was too late. The process was complete and all in eight inches was Sakyuamon now struggling with the mermaid mega. The petite digimon untangled herself from the water and twirled her staff to smash it on the other digimon's head.

"Get. Off. Me!" she screamed and jumped back. "Amethyst Wind!"

The panicked attack worked and they had space finally. However, they were stuck in a new problem of being tiny still. AncientMermaidmon lunged again in a variety of strikes and lunges with her trident, attempting to swishkabob the shamen mega. Only a graze here and there, the mega fell too deep into a lunge and Sakyuamon saw her opportunity.

"Spirit Strike!"

Three colourful foxes swarmed the mermaid, snapping and snarling their jaws onto her. She fended them off but looked worse for wear. Her hair was tangled and split, her face was covered in cuts, and she was injured on her fin. However, a new desire to hurt the Tamers and digimon was in her eyes-burning brightly.

"Ocean Goddess!"

It was like the world flipped upside down for Sakyuamon as water rushed below her upwards. Then, it threw her around and knocked her everywhere and anywhere in the aquarium. Takato only watched as the tiny mega landed with a quiet 'thunk' into glass but it made a crack. A bright glow of light and Sakyuamon split back into Renamon and Rika, normal sized.

"Is. That. All. You. Got?" AncientMermaidmon breathed every word. She only looked up with a frightening expression.

Takato took out his D-Arc and looked to Growlmon. He nodded his head.

BIOMERGE DIGIVOLUTION

There, Gallantmon stood at ten inches from the ground looking as intimidating as ever despite the size difference. He raised his shield and lance and made a motion,

"Come catch me!" he jumped away from the water towards the gift shop. It was a small botique in the middle of the aquarium but it was a battle ground advantage for the knight digimon. First, it was away from water, and second it held things that could maybe help him. He jumped onto a rack of mugs and pushed them down, one by one. Each one shattered onto AncientMermaidmon who growled in annoyance.

"Stop that!"

"Make me!" the childish taunt came back, as Gallantmon pushed another mug off.

"Gr." she raised her trident but no water came to her aide. She was too far away. Gasping, she jumped onto the stand and tried to combat Gallantmon, but he was prepared for that.

"Shield of Just!"

The blast knocked back the mega considerably. Breathing heavily, the mermaid could only take on a few more attacks before she was worn out. She grabbed a toy fidget spinner and chucked it at the knight. He didn't dodge it but sliced it cleanly in half, knocking it opposite ways.

Then, he saw a bottle with a ship in it. An idea struck in his head as he jumped shelf to shelf. If he could only get to that bottle...

"Trident Rage!" she cried and speared the knight in the gut. He yelled in pain, taking a knee.

"No..." he grunted and brought himself up.

"You Royal Knights think you're all that." AncientMermaidmon spat. "I hate seeing you again Gallantmon. Didn't think you would come back after UltimateChaosmon deleted you all those years ago."

"What are you talking about?" Gallantmon parried an attack.

"Don't you...remember?" She smacked him with her tail and dodged a lunge from the lumbering digimon.

"We have no idea what you're talking about! Shield of Just!"

The attack missed.

"You're Gallantmon, one of the Royal Knights that tried to take on UltimateChaosmon-one of the chosen ones. Aren't you?" asked AncientMermaidmon. Then, she widened her eyes, "You...aren't him, are you?"

Then, Gallantmon saw the opportunity and lunged back impaling AncientMermaidmon. She faded back into Ranamon whom knelt on the ground.

"I have no idea what you are talking about but we are the ones who are defending against you and your UltimateChaosmon. What does he want?"

She hardened her eyes and gave steady glare.

"As if I would tell you."

Then, Rika came from behind while taking the bottle of the ship and plugging Ranamon into it. She stumbled back, looking dazed and confused for seconds before realizing what she had done.

"Hey-let me go! Let me out!" she banged on the glass. "I'll kill you!"

Gallantmon gave Rika a tired thumbs up, then changed back into Takato and Guilmon. They said a word of thanks.

"We should bring her to Hypnos. Maybe Yu and the others can find a way to contain her and get more information. She might be useful." Rika panted and glared at the digimon. "Even though you almost killed us."

"Frankly, I don't see her worth it." Renamon frowned.

"No-wait." Takato put a hand up. "She knows something. She looked almost...sad when she saw we weren't who she thought we were. She called us...a Royal Knight."

"But, how can that be?" Guilmon asked. "We never even fought UltimateChaosmon before."

"The more we get into this, the weirder it gets." Takato sighed. "Any ideas?"

"I don't know, Takato! It-this could be anything," Rika exasperated, shaking the bottle. Ranamon felt dizzy and fell down inside it. "This is crazy! You think she's actually innocent?"

"Not innocent but I think she's on UltimateChaosmon's side for different reasons that we may believe." Takato answered and looked to Ranamon. "Arn't you?"

All he got as a response was a wet raspberry and the finger.

"Classy." Renamon muttered.

Lady Lilithmon had been pacing in her room back and forth. With her velvety lilac lips pursed, she was deep into her thoughts. Not even the soft knock at the door made her snap out of it. It wasn't until the figure entered the room and sat on the bed that she jolted. A sigh escaped her lips,

"I did it again, didn't I?"

The figure nodded.

"It's just-" she looked frustrated. "I've been trying to contact him and it's no luck. Belphmon went back to his slumber, and Daemon-"

"I know." Lucemon replied, cupping Lilithmon's face. "We've been though hard times but, I am confidant we can get the others back. But, we might have to face the fact that they might not be the same as our friends."

"Yes, I agree. This is not like our Beelzemon we know. He's loud, and rude and he has...partners. Little children nonetheless. Our Beelzemon hated kids."

Lilithmon finally realized that Lucemon never came to her chambers unless-

"He's asking for you," his face went stonily cold, like a sculpture of flawless perfection. "to kidnap that Gazimon."

Lilithmon let her beautiful body give a unattractive sag as she hunched over. It was for several moments before she straightened herself up and turned back into her vixen self with the playful smile and dangerously sexy look in her eyes.

"I will bring her here and leave a message for those Tamers."
