The Saga: Successors

Chapter 18: Activation 04: Crest of Confidence
The sour mood that Lindy had brought with her back to Canada seemed contagious. As she entered back into the Lapp apartments, she was stolen away by Marianna.
"Hey can I just sleep-" the blonde hybrid was cut off.
"No, we need to talk chica" the latina Tamer dragged her jet lagged friend up the stairs and to her own apartment. There, she saw Luke, Bakemon and Tiguramon all watching Desperate House Wives.
"C'mon Kristy! Beat her up!" Bakemon cheered. He waved a 'hand' at Lindy, "Yo! Did you have fun with your boy toy?"
"Bakemon, serious time." Luke sighed and turned off the T.V. Lindy made a uneasy look.
"Um, what's going on?"
Marianna (with some side notes from Luke and the digimon) carefully explained the details of what was going on back in Canada. From Blossomon's battle to Bakemon's whole story of his past.
"Also, you're in real trouble chica." Marianna turned her head as the apartment door banged in a thunderous rage. Rapid knocks came and spooked Lindy.
"She's in here, isn't she?!" Cam shouted. "Open the door!"
"Trouble?" she felt her stomach drop.
"You played matchmaker and it didn't go quite well." Marianna opened the door and in poured Cam and Katrina each looking every other place but each other. They focused in on Lindy,
"You really had to go and get our digimon to send letters to us. That's called forgery and it's really embarrassing." Cam growled, throwing the letter. Lindy flinched, suddenly realizing how angry they are. This is probably why she never got a response when she asked Cam what candy Agumon would like from Japan.
"Look, I-I thought you two would like each other. Just needed...a nudge?" Lindy gave an awful attempt to smile.
"If we had wanted a nudge then we would have asked for one, Lindy," Katrina spoke. "You have to stop that whole controlling thing you do-"
Lindy was offended, "I do not do that controlling-"
"You totally do." everyone cut her off.
"We're not Ethan, Lindy." Cam said. At that moment, everyone except the digimon backed away. It was the first time in a long time that his name was mentioned.
"Cam-w-wait." Katrina put out a hand, but he ignored her.
"I thought we agreed not to talk about him." Lindy clenched her fists. A cold stare was in her eye. She felt a strange bubbling sensation inside her that flooded into her hands. A memory of his face, his voice calling out to her...that red gloop consuming him...
"You know what? No-fuck you. I'll talk about Ethan whenever the hell I want." Cam answered. "I'm fucking sick of us all tip toeing around that topic. He was my buddy and he died. No thanks to you-"
A memory of Ethan's shocked face entered her mind. His beautiful blue eyes glazed over as the red engulfed him. His hand stretched out for help-
The punch Cam endured sent him stumbling back. Lindy breathed heavily, her blonde hair flopped over her face and looking ready to lunge after him for more.
"Don't." she growled and stormed out of the room. Everyone looked shocked that the hybrid would actually hit Cam. He grunted and recovered, holding his cheek where a bruise was already forming. He clicked his tongue.
"She's still holding all of that in, heh."
"I don't blame her." Marianna sighed. "She was the last one who saw him before he died. Let's give her space."
"We didn't talk about the Holy Angels or Royal Knights." Bakemon complained and slumped on the couch. "This was as pointless as Jessica's comeback arc this season of Desperate House Wives."
Kari Rose had finally finished marking the last mid term thesis paper she assigned for her classes. They were tolerable at best and atrocious at worst. She still made a face at the one student who tried to make a thesis that women's breasts should be at least a C cup...ugh.
"Can we go out now?" Gatomon purred, jumping on the desk. "Being cooped up in this place is irritating me."
"Sure, I could go for a run anyway." Kari tied back her hair which was just redone at the salon. She had gotten better sleep, and even had a tan which took her washed out skin and made it glow. It seemed Lindy coming back into her life was also bringing life back into herself.
"You think you can beat my time?" Gatomon challenged, giving a smile.
"We'll see about that."
Kari opened the door but before she could lunge out on her run, Lindy was at the door, ready to knock. Her eyes were red, puffy and looked like she had been crying for awhile. The blonde sniffed,
"Hey...cuz."
The adult Tamer settled the tea down for the hybrid at the café. Since Gatomon was still adamant on going out and Lindy was quite shook, Kari decided them all go to a cafe down the street for something. That way Gatomon can venture out and get some fresh air. It had appeared Lindy needed it too by her demeanour. The blonde accepted the tea and breathed it in the honey lemon.
"So, this is about Ethan still?"
Lindy nodded.
"I haven't really spoken to anyone about it since it happened. Well, except for the therapist mom and dad made me see. It was bad, Kari and...it was all my fault he died."
Kari placed a hand on Lindy's and looked straight into her eyes. The likeness of the two almost made them seem like sisters. But in personality, they were opposites. Lindy was confidant, and happy most of the time. Kari was depressed and introverted. Intelligence yes, but it took the adult years to be comfortable speaking to crowds and even then, you could see an uneasy look in her eye. Gatomon had helped tremendously and then some.
"Ethan wouldn't want you to continue to blame yourself for what happened. He would want you happy and living your days being just you."
"I don't think Ethan could predict I would end up half digimon and falling for a demon." Lindy gave a snort.
"That may have stumped him a little. And, maybe make him a little jealous."
"You think he and I...would have...you know."
"You two seemed like a match made in heaven. Even I was jealous back in the day." Kari shook her head. "But, our family was different back then. We had a lot of image to uphold. Especially you, Lindy."
"That is the best thing now. I can just...be me. Ethan seemed to hate it. He would often just sneak me out so we could go hang with the others or play at the arcade."
"You never did tell me the full story on what happened." Kari remarked.
This was the cue Lindy thought. To finally set it all straight and give her cousin the full story. No more fibs, no more last minute fixes to the story. Just plain and simple...
"It was back in the D-Reaper incident," the hybrid began. "We had been ordered to move out of the district since it was getting worse but we were out in the arcade again. It was late, I was so grounded when I had got home. We were arguing about my family." Lindy nursed her tea.
"He...didn't like them?"
"Hated them. Thought they were all controlling fake politicians and he thought Auntie Erika was legit crazy."
"Go Ethan." muttered Kari. The boy had nailed it right from the beginning.
"I loved my family obviously, and I told him he was overstepping. I mean, back then I couldn't have known...I couldn't. We argued close to a hot zone, police were working on the crowd by us so they didn't see us standing so close..." Lindy growled. "We were so stupid. So, so stupid. So then, he started to yell at me. Asking me-
-fourteen year old Ethan grabbed Lindy's arm, "Why are you so stubborn about this? You're so fake sometimes but then with me you're real. You don't have to be those...those monsters."
"Ethan," thirteen Lindy growled, "I didn't ask to be born from my family. This is expected of me. That's life." She put a hand on her hips, expensive bracelets jangling.
The tanned boy gave a look. He ran a hand through his golden blonde locks that reached down to his shoulders. They fanned out like a lion's mane. Cerulean blue eyes bore into her,
"You are not defined by the family you were born from. You are defined by the choices you make in life as a individual," Ethan cupped her cheek. "I know you. You're so nice and happy. Why don't you let others see that?"
"Have you seen our school? Only thing that matters is who has the money, and who is hot." Lindy flipped her hair back. "Two things I have and I'm not letting go."
"And then you ruin it with your self obsession!" exclaimed Ethan, looking incredulous. "This is why I won't date you."
"Well, I'll just date another hot guy. I can do that." Lindy replied looking smug. She turned on her heel, "Just fuck off and leave me alone."
Kari's eyes widened,
"You actually went into the hot zone?"
Lindy bit her lip,
"I was pissed okay? I don't really think when I'm mad."
"That's an understatement."
"Can I continue the story?" Lindy raised an eyebrow.
"Lindy! Lindy, come back! It's dangerous here!" Ethan ducked under the barricade and ran after the blonde who stormed off into the hot zone. Debris was everywhere along with specks of red goo. They were careful not to touch it. Ethan looked up at the sky which was dark angry rouge. The large mass of what they're calling the 'Red Biotoxins' on the news was only two hundred meters away. They needed to get out of here.
Ethan, grabbed Lindy's arm and pulled her back violently. She retaliated with yanking it and yelling more. It was more and more of Ethan pleading and Lindy looking upset. They were dangerously close to the mass of Biotoxins, small pieces of it turned bigger-almost the size of mailboxes.
"Look, I'll leave you alone just get out of here!"
Lindy turned around just in time before a Biotoxin ate a boulder beside he. It was almost six feet tall and moving! She screamed. Ethan pulled her back in time and they started to run. The boy was ahead yanking at Lindy's hand trying to keep them ahead of the Biotoxin. They jumped over the remains of a collapsed building and turned the bend to see the military line. Screaming and waving their hands, they gained their attention. Then, one of the men shouted them to run. The Biotoxin was on their heels.
"Lindy c'mon! You have to run!" Ethan yanked her harder.
"I'm trying! I'm trying!" she panted pushing her legs as fast as they could go. She already lost one of her flat shoes and the crunchy ground beneath her stung her bare foot-
Lindy took a deep breath, gripping her mug tightly. Tears prickled her eyes and Kari looked concerned.
"It's okay. You don't have to finish, Lindy."
Everything felt overwhelming. She tried to control herself but clenching her tea and focusing on breathing.
"I'm...sorry."
The two walked home slowly. Night had fallen during the walk so Lindy ducked into an alleyway so she could let herself change.
"Becomes kinda habit now." she smiled awkwardly and proceeded to walk with Kari. Then, she scooped up the hybrid and hugged her.
"I can't help it. You're cute like this and I missed you."
Gatomon complained that she never got picked up to walk and grumbled beside her. Kari reminded her that she didn't like to be picked up as she retold a story of when Gatomon bit her.
"I was surprised-excuse me." the cat digimon purred.
Kari's cell dinged and she looked at the message. Then, she swore.
"I forgot about the teaching plan tomorrow! I need to grab it from the University. Can you come with me?"
"Sure, I don't mind. Calumon is eating most of my treats I brought home anyway," Lindy smiled. "And I missed my favourite cousin too. It's the least I can do for calming me down."
In the Lapp apartments, a shadowy figure floated in the stairwell. It was a misty purple figure with darkness in the centre. It floated to the camera's and they shut down. Then, the figure wisped away giving a seductive laugh.
Gazimon lurched up, holding her book close to her chest. She could have sworn she felt a presence in the apartment but looked around. It was still just her and Ally curled up, watching some movie with Katrina, Bowmon and Calumon eating snacks and commenting on Zac Effron.
"I mean, he's okay looking but-" Katrina popped a chocolate in her mouth.
"-I would probably only sleep with him once." Ally finished, grabbing popcorn. Gazimon spun to Bowmon.
"Did you feel anything?"
Bowmon floated up and shook her head. She looked at Gazimon and whispered if she was alright.
"Yes...I'm alright. Just maybe felt paranoid." The grey animal turned back to her latest muse, Wally Lamb and his novels. They were intoxicating.
The trip to the university was not too long. The travelled down a few private roads that held student housing so they could avoid people's gaze at a grown woman walking with two digimon. It was not until they entered the Walker's Academic wing when Gatomon felt her fur stand on end. Same with Lindy, as she felt the familiar itch upon the back of her dark blue neck.
"Something's here." Gatomon sharpened her claws. At that moment, Kari's sea green D-Arc whined and whistled, giving the red screen of peril. The combination of the digimon and sudden noise coming from her D-Arc made the woman jump and walk backwards.
"I-I can't fight!"
"It's okay. We'll protect you." Lindy soothed. "But, we need to find out who's here."
A faint red mist followed the trio into the school. They saw that several people were passed out. Alive, but not conscious. Lindy and Kari checked them over while Gatomon stayed watch.
"I'm texting the others about this. They'll be here soon." Lindy quickly texted Marianna the situation and pocketed the phone. Using her senses, she examined the room hall. No digimon other than Gatomon was around.
"Let's make our way to my office. It should be safe there." Kari motioned for Gatomon to follow and they ran up to the second floor. No one was in the hall and all the doors seemed to be locked. Kari took out her swipe and accessed her own office. It was a corner office with stacks of books and papers. In a blue folder, was her teaching plan.
"Well, that's one thing taken care of." Lindy kept a fireball steady in her hand. No one responded to her text and she was getting impatient. Where the hell were her friends? "Kari, could you take out your D-Arc? There should be a way for you to find the digimon with a radar."
Fumbling with the device, Kari took it out. The sleek device just glowed red for moments until she pressed the centre button. Then, a hologram of a compass appeared in front of her. It spun uncontrollably, like it couldn't decide on a direction. Then, it pointed due North and lingered before slowly veering left to East.
"It's on the move." Gatomon's ears twitched and she took off. Lindy followed, using her abilities to jump and move soundlessly. Then, Kari was left straggling behind, cursing why she wore high heel boots today of all days.
"Stupid boots," growled Kari as she took her time going back down a ramp and made a left into the lecture hall area. Several students were passed out on the floor and along the benches beside the doors. Her digimon and her cousin was transfixed upon hall 200-her own hall.
"Creepy...but familiar somehow." Lindy pursed her lips. This was a familiar feeling that crawled in her stomach and up her throat. Unpleasant with the sensation but the hybrid pressed on and opened the door.
"Welcome...to my domain." a voice announced. The memory snapped into Lindy's mind as who it was. It made her blood boil just to see him here again.
There standing in the middle of the hall was a humanoid figure dressed like a vampire. His dark blue cloak had a popped collar that encompassed his neck. White gloved hands waved outwards, greeting the trio and ruby red eyes bore at them behind a bat mask.
"Who...is that?" Kari hesitated, feeling sick to her stomach from seeing the creature.
"That," Lindy changed into LadyDevimon. Gatomon gave a loud hiss. "is Myotismon."
The violet mist figure had successfully shut down the camera's and now turned off the power in the building. Several voices hollered in the floors asking the other if they're alright. It was easy to find the room with Gazimon as she slipped inside undetected and solidified her form. Lilithmon licked her lips,
"Too easy."
She crept into the kitchen, watching two girls tell their digimon to stay put as they went to find flashlights. The Bowmon hovered by Gazimon while the white and green eyed digimon whined about something.
It was now or never. Lilithmon stretched out a hand and threw the Bowmon across the room.
"Bowmon!" Gazimon gasped, jumping in the air. "Paralyze Breath!"
It was waved away as if it was a unpleasant fog. Lilithmon gave a smile, one that creeped out the rookies. They backed up.
"I have come to get you Gazimon. Don't make this hard for me, sweetie."
"Leave her alone!" Calumon stood in front of the Demon Lord, tiny arms stretched out and ears puffed out. Even with the questionable brave face, his green eyes were watering from the possibility to be deleted.
"C-Calumon." Gazimon gasped. "Don't-she'll delete you."
"She's right little guy." she tapped her long claws on a wall, then scratched it loudly making the three spasm in pain. "I'll just destroy you and take her. Best to be a good little digimon and stay out of this."
"Gazimon is my friend! No!" Uncharacteristically, Calumon jumped onto Lilithmon and clung to her. He glowed bright and Lilithmon made a hiss at the light.
"Get-get off me!" she peeled off the white digimon, which stung her hand and threw him across the room. He gave a sharp yelp as he hit the wall and then slumped down, knocked out.
"Calumon!" Gazimon tried to run but Lilithmon put out her golden hand-the one that could melt anything to her touch.
"Ah, ah. You are going to come with me."
Gazimon was suddenly grabbed by the purple mist of Lilithmon by the ankle. She tried to grab a wall, but she was unsucessful. Bowmon tried her best to hold onto her friend but it was no contest. Lilithmon had ripped her out of Bowmon's grasp. Gazimon's pink eyes widened as she was being taken away.
"Help! ALLY!" she screamed.
In the hall, Gazimon saw a glimpse of her Tamer and Katrina who shone flashlights onto her and the purple mist.
"G-Gazimon? Wait!" Ally dashed after Gazimon. "Katrina! Get the others!"
"Right." the raven haired teen dashed back into her room.
Doors opened by people wondering the commotion but they snapped back shut by Lilithmon. No need to gain unwanted attention.
"Combat Kick!"
Pumamon came from behind, giving the mist of Lilithmon a hit. It swirled around, and liac eyes narrowed at the ultimate warrior.
"Nazar Nail!"
"Dodge it!" screamed Marianna, holding her glowing crest and D-Arc. Pumamon barely made it by ducking. Crouched, she took out some daggers.
"Sombra Dagger!"
"Nazar Nail!"
The nails cut through the dagger like it was butter. Pumamon braced for impact but Phantomon charged in blocking the attack with his scythe.
"L-Lilithmon?" he gasped. "Is that really you?"
"Do I know you?" Lilithmon growled, changing back into her humanoid form.
"It's me-Daemon! What are you doing?!" Phantomon tried to stop the mega but she parried. Lilithmon wasn't listening to him,
"Daemon is dead, you weakling."
"Phantomon, how do we stop her!?" Luke asked, holding some cards with his D-Arc and crest.
"You can't!" Lilithmon kicked the ultimate away and unleashed a storm of darkness and pain. "Shadow Burn!"
It torn everyone apart and back into walls. Unlocking the stairwell, Lilithmon dragged a desperate Gazimon down the stairs-knocking her head on each step.
In the front lobby, Lilithmon unleashed another wave of darkness to destroy anything in her path. Lights burned out, windows smashed into pieces and people fell unconscious. Her heels clicked rhythmically on the floor as she made her way out.
"Help..." sobbed Gazimon, reaching out for the elevator she came from. She tried to digivolve but somehow Lilithmon was preventing her from doing it.
"Metal Claw!" MetalGreymon and Cam were waiting outside for the mega. They attacked her and missed, crumbling the road outside. Lilithmon knocked Gazimon unconscious and threw her aside.
"You just don't know when to quit, do you?" she sneered, cracking her neck. Cam smirked,
"I'm a lady's man-haven't you heard? MetalGreymon! Beat this bitch to the ground!"
"It will be my honour! Giga Destroyer!"
Missiles sprayed out of the mecha dinosaur ultimate, flying in different directions and co-ordinating towards the Demon Lord. She cursed, jumping high avoiding two. Then she went through another with her toxic nails, slicing it to ribbons. It exploded behind her, catching part of the building on fire. Luckily, the endless amount of rain pouring from the skies were drenching the flames.
The final missile was a direct hit on Lilithmon. She was knocked back, looking at her torn cloth-showing her black one piece. Her beautiful face turned into something horrific through her rage and frustration.
"Had enough?" MetalGreymon taunted.
Instead of talking back, she launched herself at the digimon and clawed his face. Black ooze came out of MetalGreymon and infected his body. Cam swore trying to use his cards to recover his digimon but he lost control and the ultimate changed back into an injured Agumon. He wasn't moving.
She fixed her hair, giving a hiss to the duo and went back to Gazimon. Waving her hands in complex directions, she chanted a spell in order for a portal to tear into reality. It glowed red and black, with dark green specs.
"No! Gazimon!" Ally screamed, suddenly latching onto her digimon. She was sobbing, tears pouring down her face. "Please, don't take her!"
"Get off her you stupid girl." Lilithmon backhanded Ally and she was knocked away. Sniffling, Ally screamed for her digimon again.
Flymon came the rescue, distracting Lilithmon from entering the portal while ShineStarmon swiped her. The two were dancing in combat while Katrina and PJ was trying to get Ally away.
"No! No! No!" wailed Ally.
"We're going to get her back, it's okay." PJ soothed, he swiped a power up into his D-Arc. "Digi-Modify!"
"Modify this you brats!" screeched Lilithmon. She slashed through Flymon, making him almost shatter into data. PJ turned pale, rushing to his partner's aide. ShineStarmon charged up her spear, and yellow rays of light wrapped around it.
"Spear of Truth!"
It went through Lilithmon's arm making her shriek in pain. The sheer pitch of her cry made everyone fall to their knees. The Tamers all felt like their heads were about to explode. It drained ShineStarmon completely, making her glow back into Bowmon. Ally was crawling toward Gazimon and holding onto her for dear life. Her eyes fluttered,
"Gazimon...please...don't go."
A pink eye lazily opened.
"A-Ally?"
"G-Gazimon." Ally fell unconscious, letting her head fall on the ground. Lilithmon limped into the portal and dragged Gazimon into it.
"Sorry to do this, but I must." Lilithmon whispered and departed. However, it didn't vanish as it stayed in place, breathing in a bright red glow then softened. Then, it breathed again as if the portal was alive.
Back at Brock University, Ladydevimon charged Myotismon, with her whip in hand.
"Whip of Kindness!"
Snap!
Astonishingly, he calmly grabbed the whip and twisted it. Dragging Ladydevimon towards her, his lips produced an evil laugh,
"Little girl, do you think you're a match for me? I am Myotismon, the prince of darkness! I have made everyone fallen asleep to UltimateChaosmon's command. You are no match."
"You don't remember me, do you?" Ladydevimon growled.
The digimon cocked his head.
"No, but I have deleted many before."
"Well, I'll delete you again!" she let go of the whip and flew upwards. "Dark Wind!"
"Grizzly Wing!"
Bats swarmed the champion, tormenting her by yanking her hair and peeling her skin. She swatted and tried to kick the bats away but there was too many. Gatomon jumped in.
"Lightning Paw!"
With a quick smack of her paw, Myotismon stumbled backwards, holding his cheek. It was scraped, and it made his face twist into anger. The bats around Ladydevimon faded away, uncommanded by their evil master.
"You little cat! Get back here!"
"Gatomon! Watch out!" Kari shouted, looking terrified that the battle is even taking place. Her legs were shaking and she couldn't even hold her D-Arc properly.
Gatomon was snagged by the vampire ultimate, giving a loud hiss and a swipe. An amused laugh and a slash later, he was towering over the hurt champion.
"Leave her alone!" Ladydevimon body checked Myotismon ungracefully. This was not good she thought. No Ai or Mako so she couldn't digivolve, and Gatomon was injured. How were they going to win this one?
"Crimson Lightning." The thin whip Myotismon controlled wrapped itself around the hybrid's boot. Then with unbelievable control and strength, he lifted her up in the air and smashed back on the ground. Then again on the other side. She grunted after each hit on the ground, making herself dizzy. She flipped back and forth like a toy for Gatomon and Kari to watch with horror.
Bored, he flung her easily into a wall across the lecture hall. She crashed into it, cracking the wall and having her almost passed out.
"Lindy!" shrieked Kari, rushing over to her. Gatomon told her to stop but the woman wouldn't listen. She knelt down to her cousin.
"K-Kari...you have to go." groaned the hybrid. She cracked a painful smile. "I'll hold him off. You have to find my friends."
"No-no-I'm not leaving you alone with this freak." she shook her head. "Please, tell me there's a secret digivolve thing you can do."
"I'm afraid not," she sighed. "Without Ai and Mako, I'm just this. But...you can digivolve Gatomon."
The statement taken back the woman. Her? Digivolve her friend?
"H-how? I-I just can't."
"Yes, you can. Be confidant, after all you taught me how to stick up for myself. I always thought of you as a sister to me and looked up to you. Kari," her red eyes bore into Kari's sea green ones. "Believe in hope, and believe in yourself. Be confidant."
"I think this touching moment needs a little more bloodshed." chuckled Myotismon. He lifted up Gatomon be the scruff of her fur, whom looked worn out and barely awake. Kari put her hands to her mouth.
"Gatomon! You put her down right now!"
"Or what? You'll scare me?" the evil digimon rose an eyebrow. He walked close to Kari and jumped at her. "Boo!"
"Gah!" she put her hands over her head. He let out a guffaw.
"What a pathetic human. Can't even stick up for yourself. Just run along-I know you're dying to get out of here. I won't even chase you." he winked.
"N...No," Kari clenched her fists. "I won't leave my cousin and my friend. You're-you're just an asshole and I'll just beat you myself."
The crest tucked away in her pocket glowed turquoise. It hummed softly, hearing the steadiness in Kari's voice. Then, it shined a light on Gatomon.
"Gatomon! I want to beat this guy. I'll do whatever it takes and nothing will stop me. Because I lost my family once," she glanced at Ladydevimon. "I will not lose it again!"
CREST DIGIVOLUTION
The crest burst into a white light and hit the champion digimon. Myotismon let go, cursing about the light. He shield his eyes with his majestic cape and hissed.
"Gatomon...Crest Digivolve to..."
In place, an angel had appeared. She was beautiful with eight feathered blonde wings sprouting from her back. Golden amour clothed her elegant body with a fitting breast plate adorned with turquoise and rose details. Chain mail was underneath it. A metal kilt covered her lower half down to her knee's in a diagonal direction. It was lined with turquoise metal embellishing with beautiful designs. A silver and gold bow with ornate designs that read a digital language was strapped to her back. Brown locks of hair were braided behind her but some were let loose and whipped in the wind. Finally, her face was covered by a metal face mask that stopped half way. Her soft pink lips were seen, and with them, her name was spoken,
"Angewomon!"
It was breathtaking to Kari that this beautiful angel was Gatomon. She put a hand out toward her, just to make sure she was real.
"Gatmon-I mean...Angewomon...you're so pretty."
"Beauty isn't everything," a deep female voice replied. It held the same tone as Gatomon. "Courage, compassion, and confidence are also important. You have all these qualities to make me digivolve Kari. Thank you."
"Will you be able to defeat him?" Kari asked. A melody of a laugh escaped the angel's lips.
"Oh, I'll have no trouble now," she pulled out her bow and out of thin air, a white blazing arrow was summoned. It was giant and hummed with pure energy. It made Myotismon stagger back, still blinded by the ultimate's light.
"Celestial Arrow!" she cried, unleashing the arrow. It rang true and into Myotismon's heart. He cringed, gasping at the wound and how it was impacting him. Cracks of light broke upon his skin and outfit, scattering all over his body. He coughed up data and tried to take the arrow out, but it burned his hands.
"UltimateChaosmon...I've done my duty." he rasped. "Lilithmon already succeeded in kidnapping Gazimon. I'll die knowing I've done my due diligence."
"Wait!" Ladydevimon struggled to get up. She changed back into her rookie 'Impmon' form. "Lilithmon? The Demon Lord?"
"It's too late," gurgled Myotismon. "Your friend is gone and soon UltimateChaosmon will have all three groups under his control. He just gained the key to finding all the others. Wait and see, little girl."
Then, his body exploded like glass with a burst of light. Data shattered everywhere and rose towards Angewomon. She stretched out a hand and absorbed it making Lindy cringe. Then, the angel had changed back into a cream coloured digimon that resembled a puppy. Kari pointed her D-Arc at her,
"Salamon...rookie levelled. Her attack is puppy paw. I thought you were a cat."
"I'm not a cat- I just lost energy changing into my ultimate form. But, I remember lots of stuff!" Salamon jumped into Kari's arms. "I'm getting close to recovering my memories."
Lindy limped over, holding her injured arm dearly. She cracked open an eye since the other one was shut due to her injuries. Salamon and Kari asked if she was okay.
"I'm pretty beaten up...but we need to go see the others. This was a distraction from Gazimon being kidnapped!"
"I'm confused-who's Gazimon again? And three groups? Who are they? UltimateChaosmon...that sounds so dangerous. You can't just go running back into battle." Kari put a hand up.
"Fine, give me your phone please." Lindy memorized Marianna's number and punched it in quickly. Two rings and the latina's voice sounded.
"Hola?"
"Marianna it's me! We were just attacked at Brock and found out Gazimon is about to be kidnapped."
Lindy could hear wailing on the other line and various voices shouting in the background.
"Chica, she's gone. Lilithmon-that punta took her! She was powerful, stronger than anyone we matched." Marianna said. "We...we're going through the portal-its here still and Ally is already going through Cam and Luke to get Gazimon back. Are you coming?"
"Wait-wait!" Lindy cried. "You can't just go!"
"The portal is closing chica!" shouted Marianna. It was becoming difficult to hear on the phone. "We'll be back as soon as possible. Calumon will stay here with you. He's at the apartment. Keep an eye on things here, okay?"
"Marianna-don't!" Lindy heard the click of the call ending. She clenched the phone and looked down.
"What is it?" Kari asked.
"Gazimon was kidnapped," the hybrid returned the phone. "And they just went into the digital world to get her back."
Author's Note: I followed a fellow fan author of mine and changed Angewomon's form. A sort of medieval touch to her. It beats the heck out of the other outfit she wore (which was basically a bikini).
