Chapter Thirty Eight: The Beginning.

"Hermione, wake up, it's the big day!" Ginny smiled as Hermione roused.

"I'm awake." She sat up shaking.

"Right, I'm going for a bath." The red head nodded before disappearing.

Hermione walked downstairs and grabbed some pancakes from the pile and ate. Then Pansy joined her.

"You had the dream." Pansy said solemnly-not so much of as a greet.

"Dream?"

"The Veela Wedding dream." She nodded, "The one where it shows you your life, but you won't remember it now."

"What?"

"Everyone gets it. A dream about your future life then it makes you forget it so you still have the surprise. That's why you're a little shaky."

"How…what?"

"I read about them."

"Okay…" She sighed.

"Narcissa and the Weasley clan arrived a bit ago. They're down the corridor getting ready."

"Thanks."

"And the dresses are here. Don't worry, we didn't look."

"Good, I want you to have a surprise."

"So, I've washed so what do you want my hair like?"

"Curled and pinned on the back of your head."

"Okay, will do." She nodded before grabbing her wand and swishing it around her head as it went up in the precise style.

"Then just little green and natural make-up."

"Right." And that happened too, "Shall I put my dress on now?"

"No, wait for Ginny to come out."

"Ginny is here." She announced.

"Right, the same as Pansy but red."

"Okay."

Hermione went downstairs and grabbed the bridesmaid dresses before offering one to each bridesmaid.

"It's beautiful." Pansy smiled as she pulled out a green dress with a white lace underskirt. Ginny nodded her agreement at her red version.

"Thanks, I thought house colours would look nice."

"These are amazing Hermione." Ginny nodded.

"Okay well, I'm going for my bath, see you in a bit." The bride walked into the en-suite and poured arm water into the big tub with the soaps pouring through the many taps. Once it was filled she climbed in and lay down.

I'm getting married today. She told herself as she washed her hair and rubbed hair-removal potion on parts of her body so she didn't have to use a razor, this is it. My last time as Hermione Jean Granger…I'll be Malfoy soon. I'll be a full Veela Mate soon. She was more terrified of that than anything else. I'm nervous but I'm excited-how does that work? I'm excited for my wedding but nervous about the consequences after that. She started to hyperventilate, what if I do something wrong? What if I can't do it? What happens if I don't look right for him and he won't come near me? What if I'm no good? What if I'm so bad that he dies because I can't sustain him? Slowly she sunk in the water until the soapy suds slipped over her head. I'm terrified and I have no other way to go. She fretted.

"Hermione?" A feminine voice called, "Is everything okay?" Spluttering water she pulled out of the water.

"Yes." She coughed.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes Narcissa, I'm fine, just in the bath."

"Okay." And she heard feet moving away.

Come on now Hermione, where's this Gryffindor bravery? Hermione abruptly climbed out of the bath, here it is.

She used her wand to dry and style her hair quickly before brushing her teeth then using her wand so her make-up would do itself as she stared into the mirror. You are beautiful and smart and perfect. Draco will love you. She told herself sternly. You will not be a jittering bride. With that she was complete-except clothes and shoes. Slipping on her undergarments she stroked her chemise covered stomach. She knew she wasn't supermodel slim or toned but she was slender in a soft way. Nodding to herself-confirming she was ready-she walked out to her bridesmaids only to find Narcissa sat on her bed she shared normally with Draco.

"Hi." She murmured conscious of her half-naked state of dress.

"Hello Hermione." Narcissa smiled, practically glowing.

"You look lovely." Narcissa was wearing a green and floral dress robe. Her blonde and black hair swept into a bun on the back of her head. She looked prim and proper and posh, everything a Malfoy wife stood for.

"Thank you." She waved off the compliment, "I'm here with your jewellery."

"My jewellery?" She didn't remember getting any-in fact she planned to go without.

"Yes, the Malfoy jewellery, which we all wear at our wedding."

"Oh."

"Here." She handed her a big box. It had a matching set of earrings, a necklace and a tiara.

"It's beautiful."

"I know you're a Gryffindor but Malfoy brides are generally Slytherin. I hope the colour isn't too off putting."

"Thank you." She hugged her soon-to-be mother-in-law.

"You're welcome."

"I don't know what to say now."

"Don't then, come on now, dress time." Narcissa opened the door, "Molly can we have the dress please."

"I'm here." Molly Weasley burst into the room a minute later holding an opaque white dress bag, "Do you need help into it?"

"I think I'm going to need you two." Hermione smiled.

Together the two Matriarchs fitted Hermione into the dress and slipped on her heels. Donned her jewellery and made sure everything was perfect for her trip down the aisle which wasn't far away.

"I know you already have jewellery but I would like you to wear this." Molly handed her an antique ruby bracelet, "Every Weasley girl wears it, but I consider you my daughter so you should wear it too."

"Thank you." She sighed happily, "And it goes well with my other jewellery too."

"Girls it's time to go." Arthur Weasley poked his head around the door.

"Coming." They smiled at him.

"Shall we?" Arthur Weasley offered Hermione his arm-he was giving her away.

"We shall." She flipped the words as they walked out the room, down the stairs and through the castle to outside the room used for the Marriages.

"Hermione!" Harry and Ron gasped as they lined up ready to go in.

"I know." She pulled her arm from Mr Weasley and hugged her best friends and brothers.

"You look beautiful." Harry murmured.

"Better than the Yule Ball." Ron nodded.

"Thank you, you both scrub up well too." In which both boys blushed slightly, "Okay, Harry and Ginny, then Pansy and Ron."

"Okay." The four muttered before getting into position.

"You'll be fine." Narcissa patted her cheek before walking into the room.

"Beautiful, just beautiful." Molly smiled as she crushed Hermione in a Weasley hug and followed Narcissa away.

"Time to go." Arthur looped Hermione's arm through his and they all stood ready for the music. As the first note hummed out Hermione thought.

Now.
