I am so, so sorry for the long wait. I was waiting for inspiration to restrike for this story, for who I seem to have lost the inspiration for. Guess what? IT'S BACK! IN SPADES!

That night… So imagine this is just a, uh, ceremonial possession?" asked Pippin, almost as if he didn't want to know the answer "I mean, they don't expect to do any fighting… do they?"

"Your in the service of the steward now" said Gandalf as he puffed on his pipe "You'll have to do as your told. Peregrin Took, guard of the Citadel."

Sabine d Ezra were silent, each lost in their own thoughts. Sabine's armor laid on a nearby table. Though Pippin's next words aroused their attention.

"There are no more stars. Is it time?" asked Pippin

"Yes" answered Gandalf softly

"It's so quiet" commented Ezra

"It's the deep breath before the plunge." Said Gandalf, leaning on the railing of their temporary abode, "The great final push from Mordor will be unlike anything since the Last Alliance an age ago."

"I don't want to be in a battle" commented Pippin, with a great degree of sadness "But being on the edge of one I can't escape is even worse."

Ezra and Sabine couldn't help but agree.

"Is there any hope, for Frodo and Sam?" asked Pippin

"There was never much hope" commented Gandalf, then with a small smile he added "Only a fool's hope."

"Our Enemy is ready, his full strength gathered. Not only Orcs but men as well, Legions of Haradrim from the south, mercenaries from the coast. All will answer Mordor's call."

Ezra let loose a long breath, and tried to think of better times, but couldn't seem to. He could tell by the look on Sabine's face that she was having the same problem.

"This will be the end of Gondor as we know it, or at least as some of us knew it." Gandalf smiled, then let it fall as he continued "Here the hammerstroke will fall hardest, if the river is taken, if the Garrison at Osgiliath falls, the last defense of this city will be gone."

"But we have the White Wizard." Said Pippin "That's got to count for something?"

Gandalf's frown said that there was something he wasn't telling them, "Gandalf?" said Pippin

"Sauron has yet to reveal his deadliest servant, the one who will lead Mordor's army in war, the one they say no living man can kill. The Witch-King of Angmar. You've met him before" said Gandalf, as a chill began to go through the other three "He stabbed Frodo at Weathertop."

Pippin looked like he wished to forget that memory, but Sabine said "Really, I've become more open minded about your world's mysticism recently, but an unkillable man!?"

Gandalf gave her a sad smile and said "I never said he was still a man, Mrs. Wren. He is now a wraith, a dark servant of Sauron, and one more powerful than most, perhaps even myself."

That thought alone would no doubt give both her and Ezra nightmares.

Suddenly a bright pillar of green flame shot into the sky, Sabine pulled Ezra close, as he shook from the sheer dark power emanating from the vale from whence it came.

"The Board is set, the pieces moving" whispered Gandalf.

The Next Day… Gandalf and Pippin had left early in the morning, leaving Sabine and Ezra to sleep in. They were just eating breakfast when the pair came back, Gandalf with a broad smile on his face.

"It is done." Said Gandalf

"What?' asked Sabine, putting down her piece of bread.

"The beacons are lit"

Both Sabine and Ezra stood up quickly and Ezra said "You convinced Denethor…"

"No" said Gandalf, interrupting him, "But Pippin here was a surprisingly good climber."

There was still hope.

A Week Later, Dunharrow… It was the Middle of the night and Aragorn had just came in and gathered Kanan, Hera, Zeb, Chopper, Legolas, and Gimli. Saying that Elrond had just left, and given him a new task.

So here Zeb was, half-awake, strapping his bo-rifle to his horse all while Kanan and Hera talked.

"What do you think Aragorn meant about a new task, Kanan?" asked Hera

"I'm not sure, but I trust Elrond." Said Kanan back

Zeb cursed as he caught his fur in the straps of the saddle for the third time, though Kanan and Hera were now quiet, Zeb looked over and saw Aragorn approaching.

"We must go now, before too many questions are raised."

Zeb yelled as he finally wrenched his fur out of the straps, leaving a tuft of it behind.

Everyone looked pointedly at Zeb.

"He, hehe, sorry" said Zeb

Minutes later they were mounted and riding into a chasm that Kanan has said "Felt, unnatural" when they arrived. Distant cries of "Lord Aragorn met Zeb's ears, then suddenly, they were snuffed out.

And as the seven began the treacherous journey through Dunharrow, and while Elrond Halfelven was halfway back to Rivendell. Far, far away, in the depths of Arda's star system. A small flotilla of starships emerged from hyperspace…

On the bridge of the command ship… Are you sure this is the correct system?" asked a Togruta with two lightsabers attached to her belt.

"We can only hope, and hope that we have arrived in time." said the figure as he stepped into the light. Boromir had returned to Middle-Earth.
