The following day, Michi was up early to arrange her visit with Twilight and her absence with Celestia.
Harry was waiting by the gate with the same saddlebag that his old friend Duster gave him.
Michi came trotting out of the palace, in a daze.
"What's wrong, Michi, you look like you sat through the gala again?" Harry asked her.
"It was surprisingly easy to tell Celestia, that we are going to another dimension and going to visit Twilight first." Michi answers before looking over her brother. "Remind me to get you another pair of saddlebags. That one looks a little tight."
Harry looks over at the bag and shakes his head "No way Duster gave these to me before she left to live with that guard-uncle of hers." he placed a hoof on them in memory.
Michi rolls her eyes, she was not that attached to items, she did not understand the point. Together the two siblings went to the train station.
They got on the train and settled in a seat watching the countryside pass through the window of the car.
Michi giggled at the sudden thought of she should have warned Twilight of her and Harry's visit.
"What's so funny, Michi? You look like you just pulled a great prank on somepony." Harry asked
"I kinda forgot to write to Twilight about this visit." Michi answers her smile never fading.
Harry snickered at the thought. "You think she'll still freak out about her check list not having us on it?"
"Most likely but where's the fun in the surprise if she knows about it?" Michi questions
"And to think you got upset with me and Duster doing almost the same thing to you." Harry remarks.
"That's because my check lists are duties, I took over for Celestia. You and Duster would have ruined the whole day." Michi explains.
"No we didn't you even said we made the day go by faster for you." Harry replies
"And I nearly forgotten I had to review the guard." Michi states, but she then shrugged "Oh well, it's in the past, why are we fussing over it now?"
"Yeah, so you still think she'll be happy to see us anyway?" Harry asked with a yawn.
"One way to find out." Michi answers
"I guess so." He leaned in, rested his head on her side, and started to snore for the rest of the train ride.
Michi nudged Harry with her hoof, "Sleepy head, we're here."
Harry woke up with a snort and went to grab his saddlebags "You know where her house is at right, Michi?"
"Yeah, the one place where you don't let me sleep." Michi responds as she left the train and the station.
"You're joking right; she's in a library it, so fits her." He laughs at this.
"I am not joking." Michi responds, trotting into town completely ignoring the fact that most of the ponies had stopped what they were doing to watch her and her brother. They headed in the direction of the Golden Oak Library.
As they moved through the town, Michi heard a loud gasp and a pink blur shoot right passed them.
What was that? Wondered Michi. She decided it did not matter, and walked up the library door. "Anypony know how I sign up for library card?"
She heard a voice coming from the upper level of the library "Hold on I'll be down in a minute." she heard a pop and saw a purple flash as her friend twilight appeared in front of her.
Michi grinned from cheek to cheek, as Twilight did not fully acknowledge her presence completely.
"Now what can I do for you this fine ... "she turned to look at the two alicorns "M-M-Michi, is that you, what you doing here?"
"Breathe, I'm not sent from Celestia." Michi responds her grin getting wider by the second.
Twilight took a deep breath then hugged her tight. "I'm so glad to see you it's been far too long since I saw you last."
"Yeah, we were foals." Michi agreed, "And it was your fault, Ms. I-just-need-books." She released her old friend. "Also Harry wanted to see you."
"Harry, oh my last I saw you were still in a high chair." Twilight gushed. She just giggled and gave a brief hug to harry as well.
Harry ducked his head and a blush darkening his cheeks.
"Another reason, is that we're not going to be in Spike-delivered mail distance." Michi admitted looking through her lashes.
Twilight stared at her first friend "What do you mean by that Spike can deliver a letter to anywhere in the world."
"We're not going to be in this world, Harry has been accepted into his father's old school to learn about magic, and I am his inter-dimensional taxi." Michi explains as sit down. "I wanted to see you as well before you ask Celestia why I wasn't answering any letters."
"You're going to the human world that is so cool you get to learn about a new world and a new kind of magic." Twilight stated quickly realizing where Michi was heading.
"Not only that, I'm taking over my mother's vacant seat as Ambassador of Equestria." Michi added, giving a sidelong glance toward her brother, "Which was the reason for my muzzle in a book."
Harry mumbled something then went looking for spike.
"So, how's the simple life in Ponyville?" Michi questioned
"It's good, I like it." Twilight answered then went onto explain about her new friends.
Michi listened and found herself wanting to meet these ponies, who managed to befriend Twilight without her knowing.
Just then, she heard a knock on her door and a voice with a southern drawl "Hey Twilight, you ready for the picnic?"
"Did we come at a bad time?" Michi questions looking at the new pony that had come inside.
"Oh no, in fact this works out great, I can introduce you to all my new friends here in ponyville." Twilight smiled at the thought. The unicorn introduced the two alicorns to the earth pony named Applejack.
Michi motioned with her hoof, "Harry?"
Harry walked over to her and leaned his head in "Yes, Michi?"
"How would you feel to crashing a picnic?" Michi questioned
"Wouldn't be the first time I did it and we would get to meet her friends and you two get to catch up as well." Harry responds he gave her a push and pointed to twilight.
"I'm waiting for Twilight, since I have no idea where I'm going." Michi explains.
Twilight gave a blush and then said, "just follow me we're heading out to Sweet Apple Acres."
Michi did so, Harry was trotting along just talking about that came to mind.
As they neared the farm, they all heard a strange buzzing sound coming towards them from the hill near the barn.
"What is that?" Michi inquired
Applejack stopped and turns her head to the noise, "If it's what I think it is; we best get off the road right now."
Michi was already flapping her wings, to avoid a crash.
Just as they all clear the road, a scooter and cart zoomed past the followed by a Pegasus filly yelling, "You're not winning this time, Scootaloo."
"Harry, I do believe that was your old friend Duster." Michi commented
Harry looked back the dust cloud. "I think you're right but why would she be here of all places?"
"Oh, a few weeks ago, Duster, and three other fillies formed a club, dedicated to earning their Cutie Marks." Twilight answered.
"That sounds so like her and I'm glad she has some new friends for her, maybe I can see her before we leave." Harry replies
"That is if you can get her to slow down, I think you might as well stand the path, she might see you then." Twilight shook her head.
"Don't tempt him." Michi replied dryly.
"I am not that bad, Michi, I have done anything like that ever." Harry huffed at the statement.
"Only because you know you would be polishing armor if you tried." Michi countered
"That was one time and only to make up for ruining old Grey's shoes." Harry retorted
Michi just rolled her eyes, landing, she continued down the road.
They continued to the farm as they neared the open they saw four other mares waiting for them.
Each of them had expressions of shock on their muzzles at seeing the two alicorns. One mare is white with a purple mane and tail, looked like she wanted to faint.
Twilight smiled and waved at the group "Girls, I want you all to meet my first friend Michi and her little brother Harry."
"Please, no bowing." Michi insisted
A Pegasus with a rainbow colored mane stare at the two alicorns then to Twilight then back again, "Twilight, you didn't tell us the prince and princess was gonna be join us."
"They just showed up today." Twilight replies, "I thought it would be easier for her to meet all of you here then tracking you done one at a time."
The pink earth pony jumped up and gave a hug to the pair "Of course they should and any friend of twilight is a friend of ours."
Michi grinned and was afraid of this pony, which seems to be hyperactive.
The other mares gave her a gentle smile and placed a hoof. "Don't worry about it, darling, Pinkie is like that with new ponies, she meets, but now I'm being rude, I'm Rarity, fashionista extraordinaire.
The next one to step up was the Pegasus "The name's Rainbow Dash, fastest flier in all of Equestria." She hopped up and posed in the air.
"That name sounds familiar to me somehow." Michi wondered aloud trying to think of where she heard the name before.
"I'm winner of the Cloudsdale's youngest flyer competition and the only pony ever to do a sonic rainboom." Rainbow boasted while still in the air.
Harry looked at his sister, "Didn't you say that Spitfire was complaining about getting multiple fan letters asking to join the Wonderbolts from some Pegasus named Rainbow Dash?"
"That's it; Spitfire is the one who mentioned the name." Michi answered
The Pegasus blushed and dropped to the ground once more.
"Don't be too embarrassed, Spitfire liked your letters better than the other half she has gotten in the past." Michi comforted
"I-I-I-I'm not." she stutter out the rest all giggled at her reaction.
Michi went over and lay down on the blanket that was set up for the picnic. "I'm just glad that no one on that team has come down with the feather-flu recently, I don't like having to act as a replacement."
Harry went over as well, saw a yellow Pegasus with a pink mane and tail, and asked her name.
"I'm Fluttershy." Whispers the Pegasus
"I'm sorry, I didn't hear you, ma'am." Harry asked as he leaned in closer to her.
"Her name's Fluttershy, and just like her name suggests, she's very shy." Applejack explains, "Just give her time to come around."
"Oh sure that's ok." Harry sat down and looked at the group hoping that they do not ask the same questions the most mares ask.
Rarity just looked at Harry, trying to figure out his measurements, it had been a while since she had designed a tuxedo for a colt.
Harry felt a cold chill run down his spine and felt the need to hide.
Michi rolled her eyes at her brother, "Oh by the way, Harry, you have a uniform that you have to wear at your new school."
Harry dropped his head and groaned, "You gotta be joking; I got to wear clothes, Horseapples."
"Since when do I make jokes about your education?" Michi inquired
"Never, even if the lessons were silly sometimes." Harry groaned out once more.
Michi nods, before turning back to Applejack and asking about her crop this year.
"The crops are doing fine I know this applebuck season is going to be a great one."
"Could you make sure a barrel of your cider is on reserve for me?" Michi asks, "The cider is one of my favorite drinks in fall and winter."
"Of course, I always set aside a barrel aside for my friends." Applejack responds. The farm mare just giggled and rainbow dash rubbed her belly at the thought of the cider.
Michi did not realize, she had lost track of time, she was enjoying being a normal mare for once, with no responsibilities. She looked at the sun, and realized that she and Harry needed to leave in order to make their deadline.
Harry saw the time as well and stood to stretch his wings "It's almost time to go to this school to meet these human and gather my school supplies."
"And for me to start to dance in diplomatic circles." Michi agreed she looked regretfully at the mares that seemed like good ponies to be friends with her or Harry. "Forgive us, but we must take our leave."
All of the mares got sad their faces and asked. "You will be coming back right."
"I believe so, but I do not know as of right now." Michi answers.
"Well when you do we'll have a big welcome back party for you and harry." Pinkie all but yelled.
Twilight had the sudden idea of writing to Princess Celestia about Harry and Michi living in Ponyville as well. She would do that later.
Michi stood up, stretching out front legs then her back legs. She was wondering where she should go to cast the spell.
Harry saw the look in her eyes "What wrong, sis?"
"I need to cast the trans-dimensional spell, but I'm not sure if we should leave or should I just cast it here." Michi answered confusion lacing her tone.
Twilight's eyes lit up and turned to her. "Oh please cast it here, I would love to see how you cast the spell, I've only read theories about it."
The directions that Michi had found in the castle of the royal sisters, she would never share with a single soul. The alicorn mare closed her eyes and began to recite the spell in her mind; her horn reacted glowing green and black as she tapped into the alicorn magic.
As the power of the spell reached its max, the others saw a portal open before them and Harry felt something click in his mind on how he should look in this world.
Michi opened her eyes, and looked at the portal. "I did it."
The others all looked at the portal and then at Michi.
"This is so AWESOME!" rainbow dash shouts out into the air.
"Hurry up, Harry. I can't hold the spell forever." Michi growled
"Right see you on the other side." Harry agreed and ran through the portal.
Michi followed her brother.
