Fandom: Totally Spies

Parings: Samantha Simpson/Tim Scam

Summary: Currently having finished her education at Harvard University in Cambridge, engaged to the man of her dreams, Tim Scam. Samantha is capable of saying she's the happiest woman in the world. As she her her fiance plan for their engagement party and their future, she quickly however, realizes her perfect life might not be so wonderful after all, or that her beloved might not be all he appears to be. (OR, an AU where Sam never was an spy and struggles keeping a reality together that might never have been.)

Warnings: Strong language; Violence, possible future sexual tension, emotional manipulation, lots of Samantha suffering bc she just wants to be happy, maybe the fluff deserves its own warning as well bc Sam and Tim get really cute together at times, we need some tooth rotting fluff besides the drama, Tim is..a good lover who loves his wifey, good lover does not include good person. Keep that in mind, shit gets dark.

Note: Just decided to write something for my childhood series, loved this show to death I remember. Only recently got interested in the prospect of Tim/Sam. Figured why not.

Slow updates probably. Also depends on the interest in this story in general. Keep in mind this story is going to get pretty dark and generally includes an unreliable narrator, in this case Sam, whom is very much living a fulfilled life, engaged to the man she loves, dreaming of a family and children like many women. The created universe is almost the same expect for the fact that she's no spy in this, just a regular citizen who never met Aleks or Clover, or anyone of the original cast. But thye will make an eventual appearance. Just a girl who'll be going through a lot of things during this story, it's going to be a wild ride for her.

Didn't spell-check this, sorry for any mistakes.

CHAPTER ONE

The arms of love encompass you with your present, your past, your future, the arms of love gather you together. ~Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Southern Mail, 1929, translated from French by Curtis Cate

Happiness is –

Relative.

Or so Samantha Simpson believes, as she stares at the ring around her pale slender finger, silver and glistering, it is a simple but beautiful thing, and her heart flutters with an joyous emotion, tearing through every viber of her being as she looks at it, a smile tugging on her face.

It is currently at this moment as well, that Samantha finds herself dining with a few of her closer friends, at a restaurant she has visited very often in the past—it hadn't been easy to come here lately with her busy schedule, eager more than anything to share the news, and her friends, just as expected, are overcome with excitement.

"Oh Samantha," One of her friends, Annabel coos as she tenderly runs her fingers across the ring, "it's absolutely beautiful, I cannot believe it's actually finally happened. Congratulations from the bottom of my heart."

"Was about time, don't you agree?" Her other friend leaning across the table, cutting through the food on her table. Megan, while not smiling, seems to be glowing with glee. "quite the good timing that man has as well, considering you've just finished Harvard and gone back to living together, seems quite appropriate all things considered."

"He told me he was waiting because he knew how important my education was to me." Samantha explains, "it came as a shock to me as well. I didn't see it coming either as he lowered himself on his knee, I mean, all I did was ask him what kind of food he wanted to eat that night and suddenly you see your lover on his knee, I was baffled. If you guys think your reactions were over the top when I told you the first time over the phone, then I think you can imagine how I must have reacted. I feel almost embarrassed thinking about it, really."

Annabel laughs, "Oh that poor man, you cried didn't you?"

"I did." Samantha feels her cheeks flush red slightly and lifts a wine glass to her lips, almost attempting to hide it, but to no avail. "I started crying right away, dropping to the ground and everything. He told me for a second he thought I was in the middle of an heart attack. I admit…..I'd gotten a little too emotional, i'd blame it on my monthly hormones. But it was something we shared a laugh about quite soon after that."

"Well, that just shows how much it means to you, doesn't it?" Megan replies and shares a smile of her own, "It's certainly not something that happens every day, I can't really blame you for that one. Loverboy seemed excited to share the news with his employees at work as well, from what I've heard."

"Well, we all know how he is. An man arrogant like him loves showing off what he believes belongs to him. Especially an beautiful girl like Samantha, I'd honestly be surprised if he hadn't." Annabel waves her hand dismissively, as if unimpressed and the other women hums in agreement, Annabel seems in thought for a second and looks back at Samantha. "Have you told your parents yet, Sammie?"

"Of course, mother was the first one I told." Samantha responds, baffled she'd even asked. She'd always been mothers little girl, unable to hide anything from her. "I picked up the phone right away to tell them. Both are quite eager to come over and celebrate as you'd imagine. They will be coming over quite soon actually."

"That's wonderful, Samantha." Annabel chirps excitedly, definitely looking like she believes it as well – and Samantha can't help but think about how grateful she is for friends like these, so loyal and caring. "I assume you have your engagement party planned?"

"Actually, not quite yet." The red headed woman admits, "We have both been a little busy, besides, it has only been a week. We have enough time to plan for everything."

"Mrs Scam." Megan tastes the words on her tongue, she laughs teasingly and pats Samantha's shoulder tenderly, "It has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?"

She fiddles with the ring around her finger once more and lets her eyes linger on it, she feels an rush of emotions pass through her body. Can't even word the happiness she feels, how she quickly wants to rush home back into his arms, tenderly – and so warm.

And Samantha, smiles brightly in response. "It sure does."
