Chapter 7 the Temple and Team
(Akira POV)
We finally made it to the temple seeing another partner pair already leaving. I already noticed one of them easily.
"Cardin," I growled under my breath.
"You know him?" Yoko asked.
"Not fondly," I said, "I only know him because of what he was doing to Raven."
"You and Cardin have a bet," Raven said, "if you get better grades, Cardin will leave every Faunus alone after graduation, but if he wins, you won't become a huntress."
"That can't be true…can it?" Yoko asked.
"It's true," I said, "but there was a loophole, all assignments need to be genuinely completed by us, if my hunch is right, he'll probably have someone do them for him, and if I find out, then the deal is off, but then that means he can do whatever he wants to us Faunus and I don't have to give up being a huntress."
"So…now what?" Shawn asked.
"Easy, we get the relic and go," I said, "one per partner."
Soon it was up to Yoko and me to choose the relics, which were chess pieces oddly, but in reality, it didn't matter. We both decided on the black knight chess pieces and began to head back. Yoko began to have to carry Raven back because of something, she said about voices piercing through her head and it hurting. It didn't really set us back, we just continued on until we reached the cliffs and Raven's headache subsided.
"So how are we getting up there?" Shawn asked.
"Easy, what instinct tells you to," I said using Jeweled Ventus's grappling hooks extra.
Raven was getting up by flying and Yoko was helping Shawn out while using his weapon's as whips to help him get up by using them to get a good grip onto something as they were climbing.
"Raven, what was with the headache earlier?" I asked as the boys were still climbing up the side of the cliff.
"Why are you asking?" Raven asked.
"Because I want to know, and if we're on the same team, I need to know so everyone will be okay, Haku is one thing that we can physically see, but if there is something wrong with you that we can't see, and then we have a problem," I said.
"I…I can understand the Grimm," Raven muttered.
"You can? What's it like?" I asked, sitting down like a puppy.
"It's interesting," Raven said, looking up, "it's like knowing the unknown side of a case that no one bothers to hear. Like they actually aren't monsters but rather regular animals like ordinary bears, wolves and cats. It's like learning something that could be useful, but no one wants to learn it though. But other than that, it's amazing."
"It sounds amazing to me, and to me, it sounds like Grimm communication is your semblance," I said.
"I never really thought of it as my semblance, just as a curse," Raven said, "with the irises to prove it."
"Well, we'll never know," I said just as the two boys finally arrived.
"We're… finally… here," Yoko said, panting very hard.
(Normal POV)
During the ceremony everything was going smoothly.
"Akira Fang, Shawn Shoyuren, Raven Piercewing and Yoko Rayne, the four of you retrieved the black knight pieces. This day forward, you will work together as Team ASPR led by Akira Fang. Congratulations on your success," Professor Ozpin said. (A/N: Team ASPR is pronounced as team as per)
"ME?" Akira asked looking around, "but why me?"
"Beats me, Akira," Yoko said, "but it's probably better than having Shawn be the leader."
"Hey!" Shawn said.
"Well I carried you up the cliff," Yoko said.
"So you last name is Fang?" Raven asked.
"Yeah, it is," Akira said, "it's who I am, and we're now a team. So let's do our best and cooperate together."
"Not sure how long that is going to take," Yoko said.
(Yuki POV)
"Where is Yoko? He missed five recitals already, why hasn't he come back yet?" I asked.
"We are already having friends look for him, it's just he's getting harder to find," Father said.
"But how much longer? I'm sick and tired of him not showing up!" I said.
"Music Lady Yuki? Right?" someone asked.
"I am Yuki, and who are you?" I asked.
"Glynda Goodwitch, we're having a dance in a few months to commemorate the Vytal festival," she said, "we were wondering if you would perform at Beacon Academy, if it is in your schedule."
"She'll have the time to perform," Father said, "what songs do you want her to perform?"
"I'll send you a copy of the sheet music when I get back," Glynda said, "The only reason why you were chosen is because others refused to, yet though performing at Beacon would be an honor for you. Especially when so many people discriminate Faunus so much, by performing, you would be able to prove that the Faunus are as good at music as they are with fighting compared to humans."
"Don't worry about it," I said, "I'll perform."
"That's marvelous to hear," Glynda said.
