It's the summer holidays for me now so hopefully I'll be able to write more! Sorry for the lack of updates and thank you to anyone who has left suggestions/reviews or has just followed/favourited, you guys are the best ever!
They landed with an almighty thump onto the ice. All four of them had landed on top of one another, in the corner of the room. David, who had been sucked into the portal first and had landed at the bottom of the heap, groaned loudly and the other three jumped off.
"Are you okay?" Snow kneeled by her husband, stroking his head.
"Yeah, I just hit my head when you three fell on me." He said, smiling at his wife. "Where are we?"
Regina had walked across to the other side of the room and pushed at what seemed to be an ice door with snowflake decorations. The ice swung open revealing a large ice balcony, which looked onto a large and rather foreboding mountain range covered in very deep snow.
"We're at my sister's ice palace." Anna sighed "She made it when she ran away that time when she got scared she would kill everyone in Arendelle."
"Classic. Just classic." Regina said bitterly as she stepped inside off the balcony. "Classic rumple to land us in the middle of nowhere. We're a hundred miles away from Henry, and the mountains make the journey even worse."
"We'll get there Regina." Snow touched Regina's expensive evil queen-esque cape.
"How do we get to Arendelle Anna?" David asked
"Well the quickest way down is to jump straight off the cliff." Anna smiled, thinking of Kristoff. "Fresh powdered snow, it'll be like landing on a blanket."
The other three stared at her blankly.
"Sorry!"
"We need to get going. Who knows how long we'll be hiking." Regina stormed out of the room and down the icy steps in her high heels.
"Regina!" Snow called after her, pulling David down the stairs.
"It's not safe! Elsa created some bad stuff when she was mad...Regina, stop! We need a game plan! Regina what if the..." Anna ran down after her, slipping and sliding on the ice. Regina's confident strides took her to the front door of the castle. She inhaled deeply. She was going to find Henry. Without thinking, she burst the ice doors open.
A large snow monster was waiting for her on the porch. He roared, exhaling splinters of ice that could take out an eye. His teeth and claws were made of sharp, jagged ice. The strength of the roar threw Regina backwards and she threw her arms up, her magic bursting from her fingers. The ice began to crumble around the beast. The ground was shaking. Anna, Snow and Charming crouched behind Regina as shards of ice fell around them. The snow monster's roars continued to ring through the ice rocks which were now beginning to pile up around them. Regina closed her eyes. It was not often that she was scared, but now she genuinely feared for her life.
The last few ice rocks fell into the mound, trapping the four rescuers. Regina opened her eyes. Snow was banging at the solidifying ice. Anna had her head in her hands and Charming looked out in despair. Regina had trapped them.
"Ice...ice." Anna whispered.
"What is that thing?" Snow asked, giving up trying to break them out.
"Its the snow monster my sister used to keep us out." Anna said quietly, barely audible over the wails of the beast.
Regina tried to use her magic to blast them out but her hands were shaking. She was too cold, her cape had begun to soak up the water and she could feel the icy wetness begin to collect around her neck.
For a while the four sat in despairing silence but then David spoke up.
"The monster. It's foot is trapped under an ice boulder." Everyone listened to the monsters cries, which seemed to sound more like pain now that David had mentioned it. "If we can get out we can probably get around it!"
"Help me push!" Anna grinned and the four of them pushed the collection of rocks that was trapping them in. Slowly but surely the rocks began to shift, and the more pressure the group applied the easier it became, until after one last heave the whole area came tumbling down.
"Yes!" Snow cheered and high-fived Anna.
"We have to be careful, we don't know how trapped it is." David whispered
"I'll go first, I aggravated it." REgina moved to step out of the icy enclosure but Anna put out her hand to stop her.
"No, I should ahve warned you. I'll go first, I've dealt with this beast before." Shakily, Anna crept outside the ice cage and tiptoed around the edge of the monster. She nearly slipped, but recovered gracefully before waving at the others to follow her. One by one the other three followed until they were all on the steps, on the other side of the growling and grunting snow monster, who was getting more and more angry by the second.
"Come on, lets' put as much distance etween us and that as we can!" David said as he ran down the stairs to the mountain. The other three followed, glad to be free of the ice palace that was inhabited by an ice monster.
At the bottom of the stairs Anna took the group down the North Mountain, winding through the small pathways that were covered by snow. She was glad she had followed her sister to her escapist heaven otherwise she would be truly and utterly lost.
They reached the bottom of the North Mountain within three hours. They had arrived in the area where Anna had first met Olaf, the crazy snowman. The ice baubles, as ANna liked to call them were chiming in the bitterly cold wind. Anna fingered a few, shutting her eyes and remembering the weird and wonderful hour she had spent with Kristoff, Olaf and Sven right here.
She felt a furry thing on her ungloved hand and petted it once, laughing at how realistic her daydreams could be. It was only when she opened her eyes did Anna realise that the furry thing was actually Sven's little nose.
"Sven!" Anna screeched, kissing the reindeer. "You found us!"
Sven was with his sled, bouncing and snorting like he normally did. Anna reached inside her small bag and pulled out a carrot, something she had learnt to carry with her at all times since adding Sven and Kristoff to her family, and Sven ate it happily.
"Anna, it's a reindeer. We need to go." Regina brushed off the reunion.
"It's Sven!" Anna looked incredulous, her fiance's best friend.
"Anna," Snow put a gloved hand on Anna's caped shoulder. "Sven has a sled, can he take us to Arendelle?"
"Sven?" Anna looked at the reindeer, who neighed happily.
"All aboard!" Anna laughed as she took the reigns.
"It's a reindeer... it can't speak." Regina could be heard mutttering in the back. Anna didn't care. If Sven was here it meant Kristoff was around, and that was what she needed.
"Next stop, Arendelle." Anna smiled as Sven started to pull them along.
