Chapter 13 Stitching it Together
(Akira POV)
It's been a quiet day to say the least, Raven snuck off to who knows where and Yoko is with Shawn, training. So I basically have a little free time to myself, I already finished all my assignments. Looking around and trying to catch any new coming scent or sound, I was being wary; no member of the White Fang knew what I did when I had spare time. Finally having some ease, going to my suitcase, there was one thing I never unpacked, a set of knitting needles with a partially done mint-green scarf. Blake would probably try to kill me for the ball of snow-white yarn I was hiding in the suitcase. Well that ball of yarn was fluffy, who knows, I wonder if Blake even knew I knew how to knit. Possibilities of that being very low seeing I only ever knitted in my room alone with the door locked and everyone else was busy.
Silently I was knitting once again in a while, listening to music, hoping to get more progress done than usual, I haven't even finished half of it after all. Silently chuckling to myself I heard someone knocking on the door. Sighing I set my work down and opened the door, finding it to be Ren.
"Oh Akira, is Yoko here at the moment?" he asked.
"No he's helping Shawn out with his training," I said, "Can I help you with anything?"
"Oh no, it's just nothing really, I was just wondering if he finished Professor Port's assignment," he said.
"I can tell your lying," I said.
"How can you?" he asked.
"What part of Wolf Faunus do you not understand?" I asked, "Besides you were looking to the side and not really making eye contact; so what really is the reason why you are here?"
"I was bored," Ren said.
"That's a shock," I said.
"Well Pyrrha and Jaune are training to help Jaune improve and Nora is asleep trying to calm down because she ate all the syrup, which left me with nothing to do," Ren said.
"So, what are you expecting from me?" I asked.
"Honestly, I really just don't know," Ren said.
"Do you want to come in? I really could use some company," I said.
"Sure," Ren said coming in.
I went back to my spot and proceeded with my knitting. It's not like I didn't want to talk, I just want someone to physically be in the room. It didn't matter if we wanted to talk, I didn't mind it at all.
"So why do you knit?" Ren asked.
Without looking up from my progress I responded, "I just do it to relax, not as an option for a stress reliever, but I also do it for fun. I guess it doesn't make sense to anyone."
"So what are you making then?" Ren asked.
"A scarf, it's the only thing I know how to make," I said.
"Did you ever try to learn to knit anything else?" Ren asked.
"Nope, just scarves," I said.
(Ren POV)
Akira was interesting; she seemed to like knitting, although I haven't seen any other projects of hers. I didn't mind asking her questions, and it seemed like she didn't mind answering questions.
"Ever thought of making blankets?" I asked.
"I did, except I won't have enough yarn and it will be hard keeping it on the knitting needles I already have," Akira said, just then, her wolf ears were twitching a bit.
"Is anything the matter?" Ren asked.
"Blake's just outside," Akira said, hiding the knitting needles and the partially done scarf.
"So why stop knitting then?" I asked.
"She doesn't know yet, and besides she turned to this corridor," Akira said, "promise me you won't tell anyone, will you?"
"Sure, I won't, but I'm not sure how long I can keep it from Nora," I said.
"Just do your best," Akira said.
Just then, a knocking came and Akira answered it, Blake as she guessed.
"Akira, Shawn accidently got Yoko stuck in a tree, upside down with his feather-shaped kunais," Blake said.
"I thought they were training," Akira said.
"They were until Yoko got stuck in the tree," Blake said.
"Okay then, can one of you go find Raven and the other find something soft for Yoko to land on if he falls down?" Akira asked, "I'll go see if I could get him down."
Honestly I was glad Blake decided to go find Raven, while I on the other hand, had to haul a giant bag full of pillows.
"Now back up ten feet and aim it so it would be three inches above his left heel and fire another equal distance from his heel to his center," Akira commanded.
And just like that, two of Shawn's kunais were launched at the precise place Akira had commanded him to aim at.
"Amazing, how were you able to do that?" Akira asked.
"I don't know, it comes…naturally?" Shawn said.
"So let's say you're locked in a cage with no way out with a pack of beowolves, what would you do other than let them take your life?" Akira asked.
"What is the cage like exactly?" Shawn asked.
"A pentagonal shaped cage made of iron mostly a clearing but the walls of the cage, that area has a forest," Akira said.
"I would go to the forested area, wait in the trees and as the beowolves pass by, defeat them by firing my kunais at them and when they're all eliminated, retrieve the spent kunais," Shawn said.
"Impressive, a natural tactician if I were to say," Akira said, "a way to defeat the Grimm without having to let them find you first. Not many can do that. You say it is natural for you right?"
"Yes," Shawn replied.
"It's your semblance then, if you can do that with ease in that amount of time, you were a natural born tactician," Akira said.
"That's great and all, but can SOMEONE GET ME DOWN?!" Yoko asked.
"Oh right, so Shawn, what would be the best way for him to get down without any injuries?" Akira asked.
"Well with the pillows, we could make a soft layer for him to fall on, but since he could possibly reach the branches, he could hold onto one while we take the kunais holding him off, circle the tree with pillows for the safe side and he would walk away with minimal injuries," Shawn said.
"Okay, when Raven gets here, we'll do that," Akira said, "Thanks Ren, we can take it from here."
(Raven POV)
"Honestly Akira, what is it this time?" I asked before looking at Yoko, "I guess we're getting him down…right?"
"Yeah, at least he didn't puke yet," Akira said.
"Hey you don't know how hard I'm trying to just hold it back," Yoko said obviously already mad about us.
We began to help Yoko down who was very grateful we did, then went off to what I'm hoping is the closest bathroom because he still seemed sick to his stomach.
