Chapter 16 the Wolf's Wrath

(Akira POV)

A week after the White Fang Incident, things were almost normal again. Well almost normal, Raven and Sky were having some difficult hiding their relationship from everyone and especially Team CRDL.

But with all the stress I've been getting, there was only one other thing than knitting that would calm me down. It was my last thing I had that would remind me of the fond memories of my family, more or less my grandfather.

His semblance was based around stamina, even if he was old; he still had the stamina of a young adult or teenager depending on the day. But it was always a great semblance for him. He could always play with the younger children there; race the teens that were up to a challenge. Every child or teenager would come to me, telling me I was lucky to have a grandfather like him. I never knew why he was so special, at least until that day.

One day, my grandfather took me out to a forest far away from the White Fang headquarters. It seemed like a simple walk to me until he showed me something I haven't seen in most of my life at that time, a herd of wild moose.

"So, use your wits, which one would you think will be the best one to go after?" Grandfather asked.

"That one," I said pointing to a young buck.

"THAT one? Okay dear, we will hunt him down," Grandfather said.

"How? We didn't bring anything to fight with," I said.

"We did, pure Wolf Faunus skills, you've already learned how to fight with weapons, now learn to fight without them," Grandfather said.

That day was the most exhilarating day in my childhood, I felt the adrenaline pumping through my veins, my pace matching the herd, the senses of the Wolf coming out. We did our part separating the buck from the rest of the pack, and soon, my Grandfather fell, but working so hard, I didn't want to lose this fight yet. I rushed toward the buck and jumped onto it. I felt my sharpened canines sink into the jugular of his neck until his heart started to slow, breaths becoming raspy. I leaned forward and knelt in front of it, as by instinct, honoring its life.

Grandfather pulled me into the trees above and told me to silently watch as I was cleaning the blood out of my mouth and off my face. As the minutes passed, one by one, a wild wolf pack came with their own moose, an elderly one, taking it down and doing the same as what I had did. Upon finding the buck's carcass, they ate the flesh between the two, and silently left back into the forest below.

Looking for Grandfather now, I saw him at the remains of the carcass of the buck, going up to him, I saw a warm smile on his face, he never fell on accident, he did it on purpose and I passed his lesson.

"Grandfather! Did you see what I did?" I asked.

"Yes, I'm proud of you," Grandfather said holding out one of the rib bones from the buck, "your reward, to remind you of your first hunt."

Getting to hold the bone for me was probably like how Ruby first was with her Crescent Rose. For at least a month or so, I would go everywhere with the bone held firmly in my hands. Sometimes I would bite it making faint scratches on it. Sometimes, mother would ask where I had found the moose bone, and I would tell her a different story each time.

That bone, a bone from a buck's rib, was one of my most treasured belongings, keeping it in a polished maple box.

"Akira? AKIRA!" Professor Oobleck shouted at me.

"Yes Professor?" I asked focusing back in the class.

"Would you mind in participating in a little experiment between humans and Faunus?" Professor Oobleck asked.

"Depends, what do I have to do?" I asked.

"You will pretend that you and Cardin haven't met at all before, and now are both in the same Dust Shop both trying to get the same crystal," Oobleck explained, "we will be observing how you two react between each other."

"Okay, that seems possible," I said heading down.

(Blake POV)

Watching her taking her place, I was a bit worried about her still, not enough people knew of the dangers of her semblance. It seemed simple enough though, this demonstration, the only question is what would Cardin try to do and will it cause her to activate her semblance? I know if she doesn't activate it for some time, even if the littlest thing triggers it, it has to be life threatening, even if Cardin were to punch her in the face.

"Whoa whoa whoa, what are you doing here?" Cardin asked as the demonstration began.

"Just buying a crystal, I'll never know when one will come in handy," Akira said.

"And what will you do with it then? Break into another Dust shop?" Cardin asked.

"Why would you even suspect that? It might just be a gift for a friend or something," Akira said, "Why would I ever want to break into a Dust shop?"

"I don't know, almost every Faunus is a member of the White Fang or is a criminal in some way," Cardin said.

"Not every Faunus is like that though," Akira said, I could see how hard she was trying to hold back too, "and not every human is the hero."

"Well then, I was just about to buy that crystal," Cardin said, "What will you do then? Steal it?"

"Why would I, you bought it and paid for it with your own Lien, I would just go to a different Dust shop then if there isn't another," Akira said.

"Well then, you've wasted my time then, and that is a crime," Cardin said brandishing his mace in preparation.

"What crime would it be then? State which law it is to consider that a crime then," Akira challenged, "it would be the same as a Faunus saying it is a crime for a lowly human to take their time."

He didn't answer but attacked causing her to take out her twin swords and defend herself. She didn't attempt to do anything offensive, it wasn't like her though; she always goes for an attack whenever she sees the opening. Is she still following her instincts?

"It's always the Faunus from the White Fang that fight like you," Cardin mocked.

"You…don't…know…what I've been THROUGH!" Akira said, her eyes changing into a golden-yellow. This cannot be happening, this isn't good.

The fight is shifting now, Akira taking the offense while Cardin barely is able to defend himself. She isn't pausing for a breath; she isn't taking any chances for him to strike. It already activated.

"Professor Oobleck, if this doesn't stop, then nothing will be learned," I said to him.

"What do you mean Miss Belladonna?" Professor Oobleck asked.

"Her semblance could be the end of us," I said.

"What do you suggest we do then?" Weiss asked.

"That's it, your glyphs," I said.

"What about them?" Weiss asked.

"You can hold Akira down with them until she calms down," I said.

"It's worth a shot," Weiss said, "Can I?"

"What are you waiting for? Just do it so then everyone's safety is ensured," Professor Oobleck said.

It was only a matter of minutes until Akira was held by Weiss's glyphs, I could see the rage burning in her now golden-yellow eyes, just hoping, waiting for them to be their normal sea-green once again. We were missing out on lunch though, but everyone else in Teams, RWBY, JNPR and ASPR were able to find the three of us at Professor Oobleck's class while Cardin was being given assignments on who knows what Professor Oobleck wants from him this time.

"What happened?" Yoko asked.

"Cardin and Akira were being asked to do a demonstration of sorts about what happens between humans and Faunus and Cardin decided to be an idiot and then a fight happened between the two," I said calmly.

"So why is Akira like that then?" Ruby asked as Akira still hasn't calmed down yet and her eyes still haven't shown a hint of sea-green.

"This I would like to know as well," Ozpin said coming in with Glynda as well.

(Yoko POV)

"It's Akira's somewhat unstable semblance," Blake said calmly, "Wolf's Wrath. Mostly and only common for the Wolf Faunus, it is fueled by anger and rage, the more that is held back, the stronger it is and the longer it will take for one to calm down. Wolf's Wrath has the ability to increase and strengthen agility, fighting capabilities, strength and speed without feeling any exhaustion or any need for food, water or rest whatsoever. However, the person who has this semblance can have no recollection on what went on around them before, meaning they could kill an ally of theirs. Their semblance also is tricky to activate, it was originally a last resort for survival for the Wolf Faunus until it became known for how deadly it was. Akira has been the only one to have this semblance in a decade; the last one was executed for murdering his comrades."

"So what do we do then?" I asked.

"Just wait until she calms down," Blake said, "setting her loose in the Emerald Forest is too risky, when she calms down, the most likely thing she will do first is pass out due to lack of food, water or rest."

"There is an alternative solution so Miss Schnee doesn't have to do this," Professor Ozpin said, "Come, follow me, Miss Fang will be safe at where we are taking her."

We followed Professor Ozpin out of Professor Oobleck's classroom to a separate building located somewhere on Beacon Campus on the other side of the Emerald Forest.

"We're here," Ozpin said, letting us in.

"What is this place exactly?" Jaune asked.

"This was originally where students would train one-on-one with live Grimm before Professor Port started teaching Grimm 101," Ozpin said, "the only reason why this building hasn't been used recently was because of an accident involving a miscreant student, a poor Faunus and releasing all the captive Grimm at once."

"So why is this place a good spot then?" Blake asked, "Seeing with the history of this place, I wouldn't see how this would be a good spot."

"That is true Miss Belladonna, but though the walls contain reinforced metal to make sure that the Grimm wouldn't escape, I'm certain that Miss Fang's abilities while her semblance is activated won't destroy much at all," Glynda responded.

"So what are we doing here then?" Shawn asked.

"Your teams are temporarily excused from classes, to ensure that Miss Fang will be safe, but I will be certain your assignments are sent to you," Ozpin said, "Team ASPR will be monitoring Miss Fang's health and condition until her semblance deactivates. Team JNPR will be certain she gets the right Grimm at the right time following a schedule, and please, go easy with the Grimm and in no circumstances will you release the Nevermore and Death Stalker. Team RWBY will make sure that everything will follow the schedule as plan, and make sure each student takes care of their assignments and ensure Miss Fang's safety and ensure everyone takes turns to make sure everyone's health and condition are in good care."

"We will be monitoring everything with the cameras placed around inside and outside of the building, think of this as an assignment to get out of classes, we will be grading everyone on how they handle the situation," Glynda said as she left, "Poor thing, Miss Fang hasn't been able to control it yet."

"Control it yet? What does that mean?" Jaune asked.

"Wolf's Wrath is usually controllable, but for Akira, she hasn't ever been able to control herself while in the state," Blake said, "With Wolf's Wrath, although they might not have any recollection of it, they can control it, and if they do, they can snap out of it without passing out."

"How long does it take for her to control Wolf's Wrath?" Weiss asked just as Akira was placed into the area where the Grimm was let out.

"Normally it depends on the Wolf Faunus but Akira can't for some odd reason," Blake said, "for Akira, I have no clue on how long it will take her."

"Oh come on Ren, why not set an Ursa free?" Nora asked as she was with Ren who was dealing with the Grimm.

"Because she's already against a pack of Beowolves," Ren said.

"Let's just make sure someone is monitoring Nora when she's in control," Pyrrha said.

"I'll do it," Ren said looking like he was already exhausted.

"Yay! We can do this together, well not together-together, but you know what I mean right? Nora said.

"Yes Nora, I know what you mean," Ren said.

"Yay!" Nora said jumping up and down over and over again.

A/N: I had somehow based Wolf's Wrath from Bloodwrath from the Redwall series by Brian Jacques without knowing until now.
