Hey you guys! I decided to go ahead and make the next chapter for this. I still can't believe I haven't updated this story in like 3 years. Hopefully I'll get some reviews on this! This chapter isn't going to be super long at all. I'm just trying to get back into the swing of things! It took me forever to figure out how to upload this! Hope you enjoy!

For the next few nights, Kairi couldn't get a wink of sleep. She kept tossing and turning all night. She was getting real sick of not being able to sleep. She loved her sleep. It was kind of her escape from all the bullshit she had to deal with, even if it was only for a few hours each night. "3 months? Are you fucking kidding me? What did I do to deserve this? How could things go so wrong, so fast? What did I do wrong?" Kairi loved her sleep so much, sometimes she even loved it more than… well, him. And she loved him a lot. Not like she would ever admit though.
"I mean what's the point anyways? I'll be dead soon enough."
She'll never know what it would be like to have someone love her. I mean, of course her family and friends love her, but to have someone love her romantically, she will never be able to experience that feeling. Tears started to well up in her eyes again. She seemed to be doing that a lot lately: Crying. What was the point of putting a smile on her face and pretending everything was okay? She never had to pretend with Sora though. She couldn't help but smile every time he was around. Especially with that toothy grin of his. He could always find ways to make her laugh. No matter what she was going through, he always seemed to brighten her day. That was one of the main reasons she fell in love with him in the first place. That, and the fact that he loved puppies just as much as she did. Whenever there was a puppy around, she HAD to pet it. She could never understand how some people could be so cruel to their pets. It made her sick to her stomach.
Kairi sighed to herself and sat up in her bed. She still hadn't told Sora or Riku the horrible news yet. Why was she always so scared to tell them these things? You think she would have been used to it by now. She just didn't want to see the looks on their faces when she told them. She didn't want to see them cry. It would break her heart. But she had to tell them. Both Sora and Riku have tried calling and messaging her, but she ignored all of them. They came by the house every once in awhile to check on her, but her mother kept telling them that she just needed her rest and would send them home.
She rolled her eyes and decided to get out and bed and check her phone. She looked at her phone and saw that she had one message from Riku and two messages from Sora. She read them:
"Hey K, I hope ur doin ok. I'm worried about u. I haven't seen or talked 2 u since u left the hospital. I know u need ur rest and i respect that. I will give u ur space and i won't blow up ur phone anymore. I will wait to hear from u. I miss u and i hope ur doing okay. -R
Kairi smiled at the sweet message but rolled her eyes as well. Why does Riku still text like he's in middle school? She laughed at the thought and went on to reading Sora's message.
Kairi! I know I've been blowing up your phone that past few days and I apologize for that. I just want to know that you're okay and that your safe. Riku and I haven't heard from you since you left the hospital. I miss you so much! Please let me know soon how you're doing! I'll talk to you soon!-S
"OH MY GOD KAIRI I JUST SAW THE CUTEST PUPPY! I WISH YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN THERE WITH ME! LOL sorry, I'm done now! I'll let you get your rest. Love you best friend!-S
Kairi appreciated that he didn't text like he was a complete retard. Not that Riku was a retard, he just texted like one. She smiled yet again, which is something she hadn't done recently. She laughed out loud at Soras last message, which is also something she hadn't done recently, but then her eyes read over the "love you best friend" and her heart just kind of, stung. She sighed.
There as no way he could ever love her. He saw her as his best friend and nothing more. "Oh Sora, there is no way you could ever love me. Especially when I only have 3 months left to live…" Kairi's eyes started to fill with tears again. If only he did…
But what Kairi didn't know, was that the boy who was her best friend, the one with the spiky brown hair and cheesy grin, felt the exact same way as she did.
So there it is. The next chapter in my story. I really am so sorry it took me this long to update it. And I'm even more sorry that the chapter is super short and there isn't really much going on. I just wanted to get back into the swing and things and kind of make a "filler" chapter. Nonetheless, I hope you guys enjoy it and hopefully there will be some readers out there! Thank you!
