Not really sure how I felt about this chapter... Some parts I liked, others I didn't. Some of it seemed unnecessary, but I felt like I had to add that in to get to the important parts. You'll probably figure out what I'm talking about, so if it seems a bit... out of place (*shrug*) I apologize. xD;
Write up a quick review and tell me what you think, or favorite it so I know I"m doing something right. Lol~
cheeseandhamburger: Thank you so much for your reviews! They made me smile and I'm glad you're enjoying it. ^_^
L leaned down, gathering up his pants slowly, feeling his backside throbbing. He knew he had a stronger will than that, and yet he melted against Raito like they were true lovers. The things that the younger man had said... It had turned him on even more, and he felt disgusted with himself. What kind of person was he to give away his body like that?
He stepped out of the closet once he'd gotten dressed again, debating on whether he wanted to go back to his room and work on his laptop from there. He could see the others filing out anyway. It was time for everyone to go home.
Raito was saying something to everyone, and waved to them. Oh, no.
The boy approached him again, looking smug. "You should get to bed. You look tired."
L scowled up at him. "Why don't you go home, Yagami-kun? Doesn't your family kiss you?"
"Yes... But if they knew the truth, they'd understand that I have new family I have to take care of." He said with a smirk, grabbing his arm to pull him along to the elevators.
L let his on-off-again lover pull him past the steel doors, his scowl slowly turning into a glare. "I'm not your family, Yagami-kun... and they aren't either." He dared to say. "If I decided to keep them, you're never going to see them. You're a monster."
Raito was quiet for a long moment, but the grip on his arm tightened considerably. He turned to him, pushing him against the wall, using all of his self-control not to bash his head in. "It's mine too, L. You're not giving it away, and at this point, you're not going to abort either. I can have it taken away from you permanently without any chance of ever seeing it, if you want to be difficult." He let go of his arm roughly, gritting his teeth, standing in angry silence for another moment. "You called it 'them'."
L didn't look at him, crossing his arms. "... 'It' is a living thing, not an object." The elevator came to a slow stop, and there was a short and high ding! and the detective quickly got out of the elevator, but Raito followed him. "For the last time, go home. I don't want or need you here." Right now, anyway.
Raito scoffed. "And what about when your little urges start again? Who will you turn to to find release? You were desperate in that little closet. Maybe I should tell you no next time."
L bit his lip, his eyebrows furrowing. He was right, of course... That month of celibacy nearly killed him. He couldn't will the need away. He became silent again, opening the bedroom, walking inside with Raito.
"Lay down." He ordered, going into the small kitchen.
L stuck his tongue out at his retreating back, stubbornly disobeying him. He claimed he wanted to "take care" of him, but what if that just meant getting rid of him after the child was born? While Raito was apparently cooking something, L slipped into the bathroom and closed the door, locking it behind him. That should teach him to try and boss him around. Yeah, right.
He stripped and turned the shower on, stepping under the warm water, sighing in a relaxed sort of way when he felt it hit his back. It was already starting to hurt so had to walk straight, and even then, he'd never been this heavy before in his life.
After he was finished showering, he walked out with a towel wrapped around his waist, drying his hair. Raito narrowed his eyes at him, sitting on the bed while a healthy plate of steak and rice sat on the night stand on L's side of the bed. "I told you-"
"I heard you." He said coldly, going to his closet, pulling out a long-sleeved shirt and his usual jeans. He quickly pulled them on at the look of possessiveness on Raito's face, and finally caved and sat down on the bed.
"Eat." Raito said shortly.
L clicked his tongue in annoyance, his black eyes looking away from him and at the food. It did smell really good... more appetizing than his usual treats, actually. He reached over and grabbed the plate, starting to dig in. He didn't notice Raito moving a little closer to him every few minutes, too focused on shoveling the food down his gullet.
He sighed, feeling satisfied, and set the plate to the side, jumping when he felt Raito's breath on his shoulder. "... Raito... please go home." he groaned. "I don't want you here." He said, but leaned back against the pillows when Raito gently pushed him down onto his back.
"You need someone, and I'm the only one that really knows what's going on." He said, smiling down at him, pushing his arms down by his sides, making him squirm a bit. "Why can't you stay still for two minutes?"
"My stomach is cramping." L said impatiently, trying to push at him.
"Where?"
L sighed and touched his abdomen. "Get off."
Raito didn't budged, crawling in front of him, between his legs. He pressed his hands lightly over the bulge, rubbing where the cramps started. L couldn't help but to moan softly, some of the pain subsiding.
"Why are you doing this?" L asked, laying his hands at the top of his stomach, under his chest. "You don't really want this. You're nearly too young to be a parent, anyway."
"I told you a month ago, Ryuuzaki. I love you." He more he said it to the detective, the more comfortable it was coming out. He knew it wasn't true, but he had to completely woo the detective somehow.
"I don't believe you." He said quietly, his eyelids getting heavy.
Raito chuckled, continuing to sooth him. "You will. Give it time."
L woke very late at night to his cell phone ringing. Without opening his eyes, he reached for it and flipped it open. "What?" He asked crankily, feeling Raito's arm around his waist tighten a little, pulling him closer to his warmth. He listened for a moment, his eyes slowly opened as his lips parted, staring blankly through the darkness. "Yes. Soon." he tried to say evenly, but his voice shook slightly. "Mmhm... I promise. Goodbye." He set it back on the table, curling his legs up slightly on his side, facing away from Raito. He was still so tired, but now... Now, his mind was fully awake and he didn't want to go back to sleep. He wanted to leave.
"What's wrong?" Raito's sleepy voice came from behind him, near his ear.
"It's nothing." L whispered, before feeling Raito's hand on his abdomen again.
"You're shaking." He pointed out, opening his eyes now.
L set his jaw, trying to think of a quick lie. His mind could only be on the person that called him, but he said what Raito always wanted to hear. "I want you." He rolled over on his other side, to see Raito's eyes in the darkness. He couldn't see his face, but he knew what he was thinking, because he felt his hand going down his back.
"Right now?" He queried, his fingers already slipping down the back of his pants.
L's breath hitched slightly, feeling his finger probing between his cheeks. "Y... yes... Yaga-Raito-kun." He said, trying to press back against his fingers. If he could keep this from him, at least, he would feel safer. "Give it to me, Raito."
His fingers dove into his entrance almost immediately, using his other hand to pull one of L's legs up over the younger man's hips to drive them in deeper. L tossed his head back, finding that his body gave in even to the light touches of his fingers. While it had begun as a lie, his body responded almost immediately, his arousal pressing against his abdomen. He decided then and there that he could never spend another month by himself again. "Ahnnn~ Faster, Raito." He panted, pressing his body against Raito's, tilting his head up to kiss him deeply, his body rocking with his fingers. He felt Raito smirking slightly, but that didn't stop him from tangling his fingers in his shirt, mewling and crying out.
Finally, pleasure erupted inside him, coming harshly, his back arching. Raito pulled his fingers away, getting up to get rid of his now dirty shirt. L started to do the same, but Raito stopped him from getting up. "Aren't you hot with long sleeves on all the time?" He asked, a grin in his voice.
"But..." L pouted slightly, feeling awkward without one, now that his stomach was growing. What would happen when it got so big that none of his shirts fit anymore? Would he go around wearing sweaters all the time?
Raito climbed back in bed and pulled him back down next to him. "Are you embarrassed?" He asked, sounding amused.
L said nothing to this, his back to Raito again. Once he'd gotten situated, L decided to pay him back by squirming his hips against him slightly, his ass pressing and rubbing at his pelvis. Raito grunted, grabbing his hips. "Go to sleep, L."
"We need to tell them."
"It's none of their business... They're never going to see th - it."
"What about my father?"
L almost laughed. "Yagami-san will not take the news very well." He could just imagine... A man everyone respects, with traditional views and beliefs... Finding out that not only had his son (unmarried son at that) impregnated a man who happened to be his boss and the person who was trying to throw Raito to the justice system.
"He'll get used to the thought... eventually." Raito said, but even he sounded a little unsure of himself.
The detective sighed. Over the last week, he'd let Raito accompany him in the hotel while they weren't working. He had actually been taking care of him in the traditional way - making him food (that wouldn't put him and the baby into a diabetic coma), rubbing out the sore spots on his body, and helping him find release whenever he need it. Which happened to be when they woke up, and shortly before dinner. He was starting to find the thought of him following him around everywhere less irritating than before. There were some things he could have missed - like the conversation they were having. "You can tell him. I won't be there." He said flatly.
Raito kissed his forehead tenderly, making the older man blush, and cupped his cheeks. "I want to do this together. I want to show him I'm serious, and I'm not leaving you."
L made a sound between a whine and a groan as he buried his face in Raito's neck. He knew he was a fool for ever believing a word he said, but how could he say no when he said things like that? "Fine... tomorrow..." Came the muffled reply. "I have... business to take care of today."
"Like what?" Raito asked as L pulled away from him, grabbing a jacket from the closet.
"I'm going to the bakery - and no, you may not come with me. At least you get the option of leaving me to go home. I have no choice but to tolerate looking at your face everyday." L pat his head with a sarcastic smile after he pulled his thick jacket on and left the hotel room, taking the stairs for once. Apparently, he needed the exercise... That's what one baby book Raito forcefully read to him said.
Once he was outside, he crossed the street and walked towards the bakery... Passing that... and another one a few blocks down... and another one two blocks after that. he only stopped when he saw a big fountain, and a man sitting at it on the opposite side. L swallowed, feeling his heart beating faster. After all these years... He was finally out.
He walked slowly to the fountain, messing with the hem of his jacket sleeve, walking around the stone fountain. "Hi, B."
The red-eyed man looked over at him and stood up quickly. He looked almost exactly like L, except for red irises, and he wore a black shirt to counter L's white. He was thin-looking like the detective, but slightly toned, and a little taller. L approached him and B grinned, holding out his arms for him. L smiled, stepping closer to him, wrapping his arms around him. He inhaled, noticing that despite his long rehabilitation, he still smelled like strawberry jam. "I'm sorry I couldn't see you earlier. I was... er, never mind." He pulled back from him. "I have something to show you. Where are you staying?"
Raito was seething as he watched L and the unknown man walk off. It was bad enough that he'd hugged him and he seemed to damned close and happy and he never acted that happy to see Yagami Raito. Not even when he was aching and begging Raito to fuck him with his legs spread, showing him how tight and welcoming his body was. And to rub it all in, he saw them holding hands as they walked away. He grit his teeth hard enough that he began to feel a headache coming on, and his jaws hurt. He hadn't seen the man's face, just his wild black hair that was similar to L's. But really, in Japan, that could be anyone.
When he saw L again, he was going to figure out who this man was, and why he was so important... and keep him from seeing him again. NO ONE touched his panda detective like that. If he found out that L and the mystery man were doing anything other than talking to each other, he'd kill him in the most gory, brutal way, and string L up by his wrists and do unthinkably naughty things to him. L belonged to him. He couldn't forget that.
L walked inside the one-story house with his twin, the door shutting behind them. The house was an off-white bluish color, and the floor was made of wood. The living room looked comfortable enough, with a large couch and a chair, and a decent sized television up on the wall. He was too nervous to look around anywhere else. Beyond Birthday would be the first person he told besides Raito that he was expecting. "So... um..." His face went pink as he unzipped his jacket, shrugging it off, before lifting up his shirt, looking at his twin's face.
BB blinked owlishly, looking from his pale skin to his face, and back again. "So... You've put on a couple of pounds?" He said awkwardly.
"N... No. I... I'm pregnant." He said, dropping his shirt a bit. BB laughed softly, shaking his head, waiting for L to stop playing around and tell him seriously what was on his mind. When he didn't, and L's gaze dropped to the floor, his twin's mouth hung open.
"Lawlie, that's not possible. Men can't... Unless... was there something you weren't telling me?" He asked, narrowing his eyes slightly as he looked him up and down.
"No. I'm male, B. I don't know how this happened, but... I think I'm keeping them." It took him a while to come to that decision. If he tried to give it away for adoption, he was afraid that Raito would do something horrible... To himself or the baby, he didn't know. "If I'm by myself, I might ask you-"
"You know that I pleaded insanity for eating a man's insides, right, Lawlie?" He said suddenly.
L's throat tightened. "That wasn't your fault. He turned you into a cannibal. He force fed you parts of people." He argued. "Please, Bee, I need someone I can trust. I haven't even told Watari yet, and I..." His vision started to get blurry and his voice cracked, sniffing.
"Lawlie, don't cry." His twin cooed, wiping his face. "I'll help, but... Tell me something. What type of person had you that you come to me before them?"
L pressed his lips together. "Someone on my team...He knows, but he's... Mm..." He looked away, feeling his face burning. What would he say if he told him he was having sex with Kira? "He's there for me, but it's - it's complicated." He never thought he'd ever have to use that phrase. That was for people who were undecided or wanted multiple partners.
Beyond's eyebrows rose slightly, but he shrugged. Stranger things have happened. "Alright... As long as you're healthy..." He was interrupted by L's loud, rumbling stomach. "Remember those jam-filled biscuits Watari used to make us?"
L licked his lips. "Do you have the recipe?"
"Of course. I stole it from the house before I left." He jumped up, going into the kitchen, L padding happily behind him.
It was evening before Raito saw L again. There was no way he could explain away being at the bakery, even if he hadn't seen him with a strange man before. He had calmed down slightly, but upon seeing his face when he came up to the room made him angry again. He looked content and cozy in his jacket, one side of it baring a pale shoulder. He looked absolutely happy with himself, a soft smile playing at his lips. "Where the fuck were you?" He asked, before L could get a word out.
"I said I was going to the ba-"
"Don't lie to me!" He snapped, standing up and stomping over to him, grabbing him by his arm, jerking him further inside, slamming the door shut. "You've been gone for hours. What were you doing?"
"I... sat and ate and-"
Raito all but threw him down on the bed on his back, gaining a soft sound of surprise. "I'll find out who you're sleeping with and kill him." He said, pinning him to the mattress, jerking his lover's pants down. "Then I'll fuck you so many times you won't even know which way is up...'
"It's not like that!" he said, trying to fight him, pulling his knees up to push at him. "Raito! Listen to me. I'm not interested in anyone else. You've been here for me... Why would I need anyone?"
Raito ignored him, doing a half-assed job of lubricating his fingers with his own spit, before shoving two fingers inside him, thrusting them in and out. L cried out, gripping his forearms. "Stop!" He pleaded, trying to close his legs. "Ah! Y-you take care of me... Just like you said..." he whimpered, trying to pacify him. "I only need you."
"Yet you walk off with another man." Raito growled, adding another finger. "If it wasn't like that, why won't you tell me anything? Why did you lie to me?" He asked, watching his face switch from pain to pleasure and back again.
"Ahnn! I... You can't... take him... aw-away from... m-me." He struggled, just as Raito slowly slipped in a fourth finger. "NO! STOP!" He wailed, his walls clamping down, trying to force out the intrusion. Tears came to his eyes and his nails dug against his arm. "It hurts! Raito, take it out!" he sobbed, looking up at him, his eyes wide.
Raito paused, looking down at his face. He looked scared and hurt more than anything, and oh so vulnerable. This wasn't like when he was taking him roughly and he told him no, the pleasure being too much for him. He pulled his hand away, watching as L curled up as much as he could, hugging himself. "Get away..." he said miserably, his shoulders shaking.
Raito felt something he never thought was possible - guilt. Maybe L was telling the truth... but still, why hide it? Why protect him? He knelt on the bed, pulling L up into his arms, wiping away his tears. "I'm sorry." he said, kissing over his face as he man trembled, his hands still close to his body. "I believe you, okay? I'm sorry."
L looked away from him, shaking his head. If Raito was going to act like that from someone he was related to, he had a very good reason for protecting his identity. "Leave me. Please." He said, sobs still leaving his throat.
Raito lay down on the bed in front of him, embracing him and pulling him close, running his fingers through his hair. "Forgive me." He'd never uttered those words in his life, either. What was this weird detective doing to him? He waited until he calmed down to let him go, wiping the rest of the wetness from his face. "I don't know what came over me... I'll never do that to you again, L. You have my word."
L reluctantly rested his head on his shoulder, his hands hugging his stomach. If Raito even thought about acting so jealous again, he wouldn't have time to act on it. The detective would be on the next flight to Russia with his brother and he would never see L or his child.
He fell into a light sleep, having horrible dreams of losing his brother to Raito. If he had to, he would protect him and his livelihood with his very life. Beyond wasn't going to be taken from him again.
