Hello~
This story is actually taking on a mind of its own, it seems, because I had actually not planned on doing this, exactly. I also hadn't intended on bringing BB in (and it's a little late, but yes, he's VERY OOC, but I decided to have him be a semi-good guy in this. Semi- because he's a cannibal. Mwahahaha.
L watched absentmindedly as Raito got ready, getting dressed in clean clothes as he spoke to the tired detective, but he wasn't even paying attention. He was still angry at him for the night before, and wasn't willing to participate in conversation with him, pretend that it never happened. That, and his mind was elsewhere today... He realized that having a baby and letting it call a hotel room "home" was not a very good idea. He already had a home in Japan, and that would make a nice permanent home for the both of them.
"Ryuuzaki?"
His black irises darted up to Raito's face, sighing. "I don't care." He said bluntly.
Raito fixed his shirt, his jaw jumped slightly. "You don't care if I tell my father in front of everyone that you're carrying my kid?"
L sat up, scowling up at him. "You're not telling anyone. He's never going to see it, anyway."
Raito walked over to the bed, but L got up, keeping the big mattress between them. "He's my father, L. Whether he accepts it or not is up to him, but he needs to know." He turned and started to walk towards the door, but stopped halfway, pulling out his phone. "L and I need to tell you something. Come up to the room." After he hung up, he turned to L again. "I'm not ashamed of what we're doing, of what we created, and you shouldn't be, either. If I'm going to be part of this, my family is going to know."
"I won't allow Kira OR his family to touch my baby!" L finally snapped. He knew he'd made a mistake when he saw Raito's eyes darken. He felt the urge to run, and he decided on it a second too late. Raito was able to catch him before he shut the bathroom door, wrapping one arm under L's and around his chest, using his other hand to grab a handful of hair, jerking his head back. "For the last time... You will NOT deny me or push me away. You won't keep me away from this child when it comes, because one way or another, I will make you pay for it. You don't want to play this game with me, Great Detective L." He hissed mockinly. "You will lose."
"Let me go!" He said, grabbing his hand to make him pull away from his hair. He only stopped when he felt Raito's arm tighten around his chest, and worried for himself and the baby. "I-I'm sorry. I won't do it again. Please, let me go." he whimpered.
Raito let him go, but not before pushing him against the wall, forcing a passionate kiss on his lips, his tongue brushing against L's. When he pulled back, L was panting softly, and he turned his head away from him.
A knock at the door and Raito's father's muffled voice made him step away from his lover. "Hello, Father." He said, giving him a slight smile, letting him in and closing the door behind him.
Soichiro looked a little weary and nervous. Whatever he wanted to tell him, if it had to do with L, it couldn't be good news. Nothing that ever had to do with L was good, it seemed. "What was so important that you couldn't wait until later? Everyone's downstairs."
Raito gestured for L to join him over by his father, and he obeyed, but tried to get a subtle distance between them, but Raito wrapped an arm around his waist, pulling him against his side. "I think we should just come out and say it, don't you?" He asked L. "We're together, and he's pregnant."
Soichiro's lips twitched upward, waiting for one of them to tell them what was really wrong. "Raito... This isn't funny. What's on your mind?"
"Father, I'm serious. We're going to have a child."
Soichiro blinked, looking between the two of them. Raito looked at ease and confident, as always, but L looked distant and was glancing to the side, seeming very uncomfortable. "Raito, I know you've been stressed lately, and I'm sure you aren't getting much sleep, being here all night. I told you, you should come home last night. You don't need to be here anymore."
Raito let a sigh out through his nose. "Look-" He lifted L's shirt up, even though the detective was trying to push his hands away.
"Stop-"
L's baggy shirts hid the slight bump that seemed to be getting bigger everyday, but Soichiro saw it. On L's skinny body, it didn't look natural, like he was eating too many treats. That would explain everything... L getting sick so often, the mood swings, the weird cravings that would make the most experienced food junkie gag, and the times where he would put an invisible barrier between himelf, Aizawa, or Matsuda when they would come in with a decent amount of cologne on their clothes.
"What... are you?" He asked finally, as L pushed Raito away, turning his back to them as he put space between them. L didn't answer, feeling his ears going red. Did he have to put it like that? "Raito, let's go. I will not allow you to be with this... abomination."
L was surprised when he heard Raito speaking up for him.
"He isn't an abomination." he growled. "I don't care if you don't accept this, but I'm not leaving him."
"You don't know what this thing will look like when it comes out - IF it does." He scoffed. "It could be deformed and hideous. No one will want it. I won't tell you again, Raito. Come with me... Or I will disown you. You'll be lucky if you ever see your mother or your sister again."
L put a hand on his stomach. That couldn't happen, could it? Sure, this pregnancy wasn't natural in the least, but as long as the baby didn't come to any harm, it should look normal. Besides, that generally only happened with drug abuse or incestuous relationships.
Raito was this close to punching his father out for his hateful words, and he had to use all of his self-control to keep from doing so. He already had it in his mind that the child would be beautiful. With his own handsome, irresistible face and figure, and L's soft, pale skin, it would be anything but hideous. "I don't care... Disown me. I'm choosing him."
Soichiro waited a few, hopeful seconds for Raito to cave and change his mind. When he didn't, standing there with a defiant gaze, Soichiro gave them both a glare of disgust, and turned on his heel, leaving them as he slammed the door behind him.
"I am grateful for all of the time you've spent with me on this case, but I'm afraid that I don't need any of you anymore. You'll receive a final check for all of your work. You're never going to see me again, so forget my face, my name, and any information you may have gathered while you were here." With that, he left the team alone, Raito trailing closely behind him. He heard them muttering something, and he sincerely hoped that they forgot about this whole case after Kira was caught.
"What will you do now?" Raito asked, as L approached the hotel room.
"I don't know... Work on the case by myself." He turned to look at him. "I know you don't have a home anymore, but I need to be myself for a few hours." Raito opened his mouth to protest, but L shook his head. "You can come back, but I just... need some time. Please."
Raito narrowed his eyes slightly, looking as if he were going to argue anyway. But with L using his tired, pleading panda eyes on him, he caved. "Fine." He kissed his cheek. "Get some sleep." He turned and walked down the hall without looking back at him. As soon as the elevator closed behind the teen, and L quickly pulled out his phone and his key card, hearing the door unlock with the soft click as his twin answered the line. "He's gone for a while, and I'm ready. I'll start packing and I'll be ready by the time you get here."
L grunted, sitting down on his suitcase, trying to put enough pressure on it to get it to zip up. He lifted his legs so that BB could help him. Over the last two years, he hadn't realized how many things he had accumulated.
"Lawlie, are you sure you want to do this? You tell me I need to talk more all the time, so why don't you use your own advice?" He asked, finally zipping up the bag the rest of the way.
"I've given him more than enough chances to prove himself. He's too controlling, and he loses his temper too quickly. We'll be better off without him." He said, sliding off the bed. "I'm ready."
"Not yet." BB said, walking off to the bathroom.
L sighed impatiently. "Quickly!" He called, before going over to the window. He could see Watari waiting outside in the car, and he tapped his foot. He wanted to go already, before Raito came back. He knew that this was the most extreme act of betrayal, to let him sooth him earlier that day, and then to leave him without a word, but something always happened to set him off. He heard a door open and sighed again. "Finally. How long does it take to-" When he turned around, he saw the bathroom door closed, light still flooding from the space at the bottom of the doorway, and looked to the door leading to the hall.
Raito was standing there, his gaze going from the obviously filled suit case on the bed to L's face. "What's this?" He asked, dangerously calm.
L pressed his back against the window, pulling his hands up defensively as Raito began to approached him. "It's not what you think. Just stay calm, okay? I... I have a house... out of the city..."
Raito took his face in his hands, but there was a red gleam in his eyes. "You were going to just leave, without telling me? Knowing that my parents and sister won't want to see me again?"
"I was going to tell you." He said quickly.
"Why should I believe you? I'm getting sick of this, L. I'm losing my patience with you." Suddenly, he felt something cold and sharp lightly pressing against his neck, and he felt breath against his ear. He smelled the vague scent of... strawberry?
"If you hurt my brother, I will cut you open and feast upon your organs while I make you watch, dying painfully. Agonizingly slowly. Let. Him. Go."
Brother? Raito's eyes knit together as his hands left L's face, the detective darting around to get behind BB's back. The dagger left his throat and he let out a breath, slowly turning around. Crimson red irises met his own honey brown, and his eyes widened as he looked at L's clone. There were subtle difference that he could see, including a sadistic looking grin and sharper canines, but he couldn't believe it. He eventually found his voice again. "L... you never told me you had a sibling... Much less a twin." He looked back at the nervous detective. "I this what you were trying to hide from me?"
The twin's gaze went to above Raito's head and he let out a dark chuckle. "You don't need to worry about this fool killing me, dear brother. The way his life is going, he doesn't have a long life span left." He saw the confusion on his face, which caused him to smirk. He turned to his brother. "Now that he knows, what do you want to do?"
"I just want to go." L said.
Raito spoke up again, sounding braver than he felt. "If you don't want to stay here, take me with you. I want to be there... for you." He added quickly.
L looked at him, distrusting, but BB hummed. "I think we should let him come. This could be... interesting. Besides, I'll be close. He won't get a chance to hurt you."
L narrowed his eyes at his brother. What was going through his mind? He groaned inwardly and went over to grab his suitcase. "Fine, but hurry up." He dragged it off the bed and went to pick it up, but BB bent down and grabbed it for him.
"After you." He said with a grin. L gave him a flat look before going out the door, his stomach sinking. He didn't have a good feeling about this... His brother, the force-fed cannibal, and his lover, the sociopathic murderer. That was an interesting choice of company.
