"Where are you ?! Gin came here .. He was searching in your things and he asked me if I know anything ."
"Rye .. Please .. Don't let him know .. I'm supposed to be dead.."
"He knows that you're still alive ."
"..." She swallowed "..I need your help.."
"My help? Don't involve me into this Sherry .."
"Rye.. Please.."
"What do you want ?"
"I need some information , from my computer .."
"Your computer ?"
"Yes .. It's in the lab .."
"In the lab? You want me to go to the lab and find your computer out of ten others and take the information you need ? Why would I do that ? For you ?"
"..."
"... Alright , What kind of information?"
"You will find them in the file with the name , Silver Bullet.." She whispered .
"Silver Bullet .. Okay , Call me tonight , at eight ."
"Thank you ... I .. I trust you .."
".."
"You won't let him know .. Right ?"
"I won't . I guess you're happy now aren't you ?"
".. What do you mean ?"
"You're free . You can finally live the life you wished for .. I was really feeling sorry for you Sherry , I mean .. The fact that you were forced to work for the most dangerous organization .. I'm just , happy for you , Miyano Shiho ."
"That's surprising me."
"Why is that ? I never was nice to you but never hated you . There is no single reason to hate you .. You're my roommate , right ?"
".. Right ." A soft smile curved on her face "Arigato , Akai Shuichi ."
Shiho hung up the phone . She looked down at her shoes , let out a soft sigh . Was she happy because he agreed ? Rye was never nice to her , why he's acting kind and good .. Is it a plan ? Or really he does mean what he said ?
"Thank you , Sir." She smiled a small smile and walked out .
As she opened the door , the wind blew so hard , her cap flew away and was caught by Shinichi . She looked at him , her hair was fingered by the cold breeze , it looked like a weave of beauty .
"Were you talking on the phone ?" He gave her the cap . She looked at him shocked "He saw me ..?" She thought .
"No ."
"Are you sure ? You didn't buy anything .. ?"
"I didn't find it . Can we go now ? I have to work." She wore the cap and walked in front of him . He stared with brooding eyes .
They walked together to Hakase's , then Shinichi left to visit Ran .
It was 7:30 pm . Shiho walked upstairs .
"Haka..." She stopped when she saw him sleeping deeply on the couch hugging the remote controller . Shiho stepped closer to him "You're sleeping .." She whispered.
"I will go for a walk .." .
She took off her lab coat , wore Shinichi's jacket and stepped out the house . This was the perfect time since Shinichi is out .
"You know , I don't think Shiho is a bad person .." Shinichi held Ran's hand . He was sitting next to her white uncomfortable bed . The room was dark , dull . Tubes were everywhere . The walls were faded , white and too clean but it still felt dirty .
Everything was white and too clean .. The sound of buzzing and clicking filling the quietness .
"Sometimes .. I feel that she is nice , and .. Ugh I don't know ..!" He stood up still holding her hand . "I just .. Can't figure her out .."
The nurse came in the room after knocking gently "Kudo-san .."
He turned "Oh , yea I'm leaving now .. Thank you ." He smiled a small smile .
"I have to go now .. But I promise I will come back tomorrow morning ."
Gently he kissed her forehead closing his eyes "Please wake up .." He whispered pulling away , stood looking at her ten more seconds , smiling weakly "I know you will .. I will wait." He whispered and walked towards the door .
He walked out the hospital , looked up at the dark sky .
"Shiho must be working .." He crossed his arms behind his head walking . "But.. Who was she talking to on the phone .. Am sure I saw.." He sighed "Maybe just , calling her parents ?" He stopped and shook his head "I will ask her when I get there."
Shiho pushed the glass door slowly .
"Welcome." The old man with the grey hair was reading a newspaper "Oh , Hello dear."
Shiho smiled and walked towards him .
"Can I use the phone , Sir..?" She stopped in front of the counter .
"The phone .. Again ..?"
"Yes , please ."
"Oh , sure go ahead.." He smiled and continued reading .
Shiho held the handset in her right hand , pressed on the numbers fast . She pulled out a small notebook and a pen , placed them beside the phone .
*tut tut .. Tut tut .. Tut tut .. Tut tu...*
"Rye .. Did you find it ?" She placed her hand over her mouth whispering .
"..."
"Rye ?"
"Hello ."
Her eyes widened as she heard that voice , that icy voice ..
"What happened ? Surprised ?" He laughed evilly . Shiho's heart was pounding fast , she was shaking like a leaf .
"G...Gin..."
"I can feel your fast breaths , Are you scared my little Sherry ?"
"..." She swallowed hard .
"You're looking for Rye ? That dog . I found him searching in the lab , in your computer but don't worry , I won't let him go with this." He laughed
"Listen to this... BANG!" .
She covered her mouth gasping !
"You don't want me to kill him?"
"No .. P..please .."
"Hmm.. Come to me Sherry ." He whispered "Or I will kill him ."
The color in her face was completely drained out .
"Hmm?"
"I .. I will c..come .."
"You will ?" He laughed "Ill be waiting you Kitty .."
"Brother ! Let's go to her she won't come !" She heard Vodka's deep voice .
"No .. I know that she will come , Right ? Or I will kill Rye and everyone in that area .. That's right , I know where you are Sherry .. Calling from a pharmacy , how stupid ." He laughed "Everyone is dying because of you ."
"I .. Will come ..." She whispered ..
"Good girl .. I will be waiting ."
Shiho put down the handset , her hand was shaking . She took a deep breath , looking down . "It's the end .. How stupid , thinking that I will be able to live like nothing happened .. Giving hopes to people .." She thought "Onee-san , this is the right thing to do.. Isn't it ?" She let out a sigh and turned back to head to the door , leaving .
Her eyes opened wide at who was standing in front of her , staring at her with the burning eyes . She looked at Shinichi with her tearful eyes , shocked . Without saying one word , he turned around and walked out the pharmacy .
Shiho looked down .. She placed her hand on her chest , feeling the worst pain in there . What to do ..?
She raised her head and walked following him out .
He was standing besides the glass door , she stepped out and stopped . Feeling the fire coming out his body .
"You know," he laughed "I was just about to trust you." He said without looking at her . Shiho looked up trying to hold back the tears .
"Who are you ? Seriously .?" He looked up , his voice getting deeper and serious "Do you know how many people are suffering because of you ?! Do you have feelings ? You were lying ?! You lied to me , you lied to Hakase who thought of you as his daughter ?! What about Ran ? The girl who's in coma because of you and you're stupid drug !" He clenched his fists.
A silent tear rolled down her red cheek , she wiped it fast before he notice .
"I .. Have to go ." She choked walking away slowly . Her face was extremely red .
He followed her and grabbed her arm "Of course you have to go , you will always run away!" He pinned her to the wall forcefully . His face was inches away from hers , he looked in her eyes . She looked away not meeting his eyes "Kudo..." She whispered .
"..I will kill you .." His hot breaths touching her skin , he placed his hands around her neck and pressed slowly , his hands were shaking . "Because you showed up everything went wrong .. You ruined Ran's life , my life .." He started pressing harder. Shiho gasped for air , she slowly closed her eyes , not resisting .
Shinichi stopped ..
He pulled away , not looking at her "No .. Am not a murderer like you .."
She gently touched her neck , coughing .
"You can go back to them , after you make the antidote ." He grabbed her wrist and walked . She walked behind him , looking down ..
"Gomen .. Rye.." .
Shinichi opened the door and stepped in dragging her from her wrist . The professor opened his eyes .
"Shinichi .. You're home.." He pulled himself up yawning "How is Ra.." .
"Hakase ." Shinichi stopped holding her wrist tight . Shiho was looking down ..
"Shiho-kun .. I thought you were working downstairs .." He got up stepping close to them.
"I think she went out while you were sleeping , right ?" He looked at her , waiting her to answer .
"Where did she go ?" Hakase asked , worried .
"Ask her ." He crossed his arms in front of his chest , looking at her . Shiho was looking down , her face was emotionless .
"Shiho-kun ?.."
She did not say anything , she was thinking :
"Did they kill him ... What if Gin is searching outside now ... What if he killed the old man in the pharmacy ..."
"She won't talk Hakase , a criminal would never confess about his criminality!"
"Criminal ? Shinichi what happened ?" Hakase was so worried .
"I was on my way when I saw her , talking on the phone in the pharmacy .. It was easy to notice her hair through the glass door." He looked at the cap on the table that she forgot to wear "And I heard what she said on the phone when I stepped in . She was talking to Gin , and she said 'I will come' , she wants to go back to the organization , after what he done to you , you're still going back to him !" His voice got louder .
Hakase's eyes widened "Is that true ..? Shiho-kun ..."
Shiho slowly rose her head , looked at the shocked professor .
"You don't understand .." Her voice was low "I .. I will explain .." Her eyes were bright with unshed tears .
"I called .. My roommate .." She took a long shuddering breath "I did this for you , and Ran." She looked at Shinichi , not showing any expression on her face .
"I can't make the antidote without the information about the drug .. I , called Rye my roommate , he said he will help me but .. Gin caught him .." She stopped , her eyes looked heavy with tears . Shinichi's angry face slowly changed when he looked at her eyes , his eyes widening slowly , he suddenly felt strange feeling .
"He knew where I was and , he said he will come and kill everyone if I didn't go back to him.."
"That's bad .. He might come and search in the area .." Hakase rubbed his chin "You should've told us Shiho-kun .."
"I don't want anyone to die because of me anymore ." Her voice brittled . She looked away and waked towards her room .
"W..wait .."! Shinichi stepped two steps forward and stopped as the door was shut in his face .
She leaned her back to the door , her cheeks looked hot red . A stream of salty tears flowed it way down her cheeks , but still she did not make a sound . She covered her face fast and cried silently feeling a terrible weight on her shoulders ..
"Sigh..." Shinichi sat down , ran his fingers through his hair .
"Poor Shiho .. She probably didn't know what to do .." Hakase turned off the tv , he was sad.
"I tried to kill her .." Shinichi stood up "I .. I don't know what to do with her .. I don't know how is she thinking or feeling .." He sat down again , "Just now , when I looked at her eyes , I saw a scared lost girl .."
"Maybe she's a scared lost girl .. Maybe she needs someone to talk to , you should try , Shinichi .." The professor turned off the tv and walked to his room .
Fourteen Years Earlier ..
"Akemi.." A man wearing a lab coat was sitting in front of the ten years old girl holding her shoulders . "You have to hide with Shiho.." He looked worried and sweat was trickling down his face . Akemi's scared , blue eyes looking at him.
"Otosan .. What's going on .."
"There's no time to explain Akemi .. You have to hide , go to the basement with Shiho.." He got up and walked to the beautiful lady who was standing near the window . She was wearing her lab coat too , peeking through the window .
"Elena .." He stepped really close to her . She looked at him with her worried face ..
"Don't worry .." He put a gun in her hands and hugged her slowly .
"What about the girls ..." She whispered in his ear , looking at the young Akemi .
"They will be safe in the basement .. They know where to hide .." He pulled away and walked to Akemi who was just standing , worried . He sat on his knees , touched her soft cheeks "Akemi .. Go find your sister and hide well .."
"But .. Why .. I'm scared .."
"Atsushi ..." Elena ran to the front door and locked it "They're here..." She held the gun well in her hand leaning to the door .
"Akemi ! Go now !" He pushed her gently and got up , pulling his gun out his pocket .
Akemi stepped few steps backward , scared ..
The doorknob turned , Elena's eyes opened wide . "Atsushi..." She whispered .
He pulled her gently to his side , facing the door .
*knock knock*
They both aimed their guns at the door . Akemi was hiding behind her father .
The knocks got harder on the door , Akemi covered her mouth scared "Otosan..."
"Akemi ! Go now !" Elena turned back shouting .
Suddenly the door was knocked down , a huge man wearing black stepped in , with a red-haired women .
"Thank you , Korn." A man with grey hair stepped in wearing black coat .
"Pisco .." Atsushi aimed his gun at him .
"Sorry about the door ." He laughed , stepping two small steps forward . "Hey there little girl , you're Akemi , I suppose ." He smiled , that evil smile .
Akemi was looking at the strangers , her blue eyes opened wide .
"Will you call the police ? Strangers breaking and entering my house ?" He sneered.
"What do yo want from us ..?"
"I heard that you decided to run away ? With your daughters .. I came to say goodbye." He laughed "You can't leave like that you know , we knew each other for a really long time .." He unbuttoned the first three buttons of his coat .
"We finished working on the drug .. It's ready , please we just want to live normally with our daughters .."
"Elena , dear .. You just don't get it don't you ?" He pulled out his gun . "You can't just leave the organization whenever you want."
Akemi clutched to her father's coat "Otosan .. Who are they..?" She whispered .
"Akemi ! I said go now !" He pushed her gently away "Go!" He ordered giving her the Do-as-I-told-you look .
"Don't you think it's better if she stayed ? We don't want her to miss the moment when you both will be covered in your own blood." He laughed .
"Please don't hurt us .." Elena begged .
"You're aiming your gun at me and you're asking me to not hurt you ?" He smiled a sinister smile .
"Pisco .. Let's just talk .." Atsushi lowered his gun .
"Okay ." Pisco lowered his gun too "Gin , come here." He ordered .
A fourteen years old boy stepped in . His hair was silver , long that goes down to his back . His eyes were light blue and could kill people with just one look . He stopped beside Pisco , sardonic grin on his face .
"Atsushi , I want you to meet this kid ." He smirked "Gin , a professional sniper" .
Gin moved his long bangs aside , showing the evilness in his eyes .
"Hello Mr and Mrs Miyano." His voice was icy cold .
"Gin is trained by me .. He's a good boy." Pisco placed his hand on Gin's right shoulder "Would you like to see ?" He laughed .
Gin pulled out a gun , smirking .
Atsushi aimed his gun at Gin , sweat rolling down his chin .
Chianti , the red-haired woman was leaning her back to the wall , smoking "Pisco , we're late ." She glanced at her watch .
"Hmm.. Let's finish this fast.." Pisco held Gin's shoulder "Show them how good you are."
"Don't ..! We worked on the drug as you said .. Leave us alone .."
"The drug isn't working like it suppose to , Don't worry we won't hurt your daughters , they might be useful for the organization .." He laughed "Gin .. I want to see her blood." He pointed his finger at Elena .
"Pisco .. Please .. We will do anything for you .."
BANG!
Akemi screamed covering her ears as she heard the horrifying crack . Elena fell on the floor , blood covering her forehead .
"Elena ..." Atsushi dropped his gun in shock "No.." .
"Ahahahahaha..." Pisco laughed loud "Excellent.. Now blow his head." He ordered smirking .
Gin aimed his gun to Atsushi's head .
"Please don't hurt my daughters .." He fell on his knees looking down .
BANG!
Blood splashed on Akemi's shocked face , her eyes opened in shock seeing her father falling on his side .
"Good job , Gin.." Pisco put back his gun inside his coat .
Akemi's tears trickled down her cheeks "Oto.. O.." She wiped the blood off her face shaking .
"Onee-chan ..?" Young Shiho walked out her room slowly rubbing her sleepy eyes . She walked to her sister and hid behind her , clutching to her dress , looking at her parents covered in red .
"Hello ." Pisco walked towards them , he sat on his knees in front of Akemi .
"Who's that...?" Shiho whispered .
"Me ? You don't know me ?" He pulled out a handkerchief and started wiping Akemi's face gently "I'm your father's best friend ."
"What happened to Otosan and Okasan ..?" She looked at him with her wide blue eyes .
"Oh .. Someone really bad came to your house and killed them .. But don't worry , they are in a better place now .." He threw the handkerchief away , faking a warm smile .
"Someone really bad ?" She whispered looking at him scared .
"A really bad person , we can't say his name .. Right Akemi ?" He smiled evilly looking in her eyes . Akemi shook her head slowly , frightened .
"Good." He got up "Now , let's go." He gave Akemi his hand with the smile of evilness on his face . She looked up at him .. Shiho hid her face well behind her sister , looking up at the man .
"Come on , before the bad person comes here again and kill us."
Akemi looked down .. "You're the bad person.." She thought .
Pisco looked down at Shiho's eyes "Aren't you coming ?" .
Akemi looked up , she held his hand slowly and walked stepping out the house leaving their parents covered in their blood .
"Korn , Chianti ." Pisco ordered .
"Yes sir." The red-haired woman laughed , holding a lighter .
Pisco got in the black car with Gin and the girls . Shiho was sitting holding her sister's hand , next to Gin . She saw Akemi's sad face looking through the window , fire-light reflected on her face and hair .
The car started moving , they saw their house getting far away , being destroyed by fire ..
The sky was too dark , darker than dark . They stopped in front of a building , big old building away from the streets . There was a bald man wearing a suit , standing beside a tree holding a silver case , looked like money case .
Chianti and Korn arrived riding their motorbikes .
"Gin , take the girls to their room ." Pisco ordered stepping out the car . He walked to the man , Chianti and Korn following him .
"Follow me." Gin said stepping out the car . Akemi looked at her sister , smiling weakly with tearful eyes "Don't worry , I won't let anyone hurt us ." She held her hand tight and stepped out , following Gin who was walking in front of them towards the front door of the building .
The building was dark and quiet inside . Gin was walking to the elevator when Shiho stopped , holding Akemi's dress tight . He pressed on the button and turned back to see them standing few steps away .
"Aren't you coming ?" He looked at them , stuffing his hands in his coat pockets . Shiho slowly shook her head hiding behind her sister .
"She .. She's scared of elevators .." Akemi looked down , her voice was low .
"Cute." He smirked and walked fast to them , grabbed Shiho's arm and threw her in the elevator . He pressed on the third floor button .
"Shiho !" Akemi ran fast but Gin held her tight laughing "Have fun!" He looked at Shiho who was covering her ears closing her eyes well , as the door was closing .
"Why did you do that !" Akemi started kicking him trying to free herself .
"Because it's fun ." He let her go and walked to the other elevator , pressed on the button and looked at her smirking "Let's go." .
As they stepped in the elevator , Gin pulled out a cigarette and a lighter . He placed it between his lips . Akemi looked at him "He's not old enough to smoke .." She thought watching him . He lit up the cigarette and took a puff , she covered her nose looking down .
When the elevator stopped and the door opened , Akemi ran out towards her little sister . Shiho was sitting beside the elevator door , hugging her legs sobbing .
"Shiho.." Akemi hugged her with one arm "It's ok I'm here .."
Gin stepped closer to them , Shiho raised her head , looked at him with her tearful scared eyes , she tightly clutched to her sister .
"Sorry." He smirked stepping away "Let's go." He stuffed his hands in his pockets walking to the end of the corridor . Akemi and Shiho followed him quietly .
They stopped in front of a door .
"This is your room." He turned the doorknob . The room was small and simple , One small bed on the right , a small wardrobe and a door on the left .
"You will share this room , and the bed , and that's a bathroom over there." He pointed his finger to the door on the left "You have everything here , a place that has all your needs . You will eat three times a day , breakfast , lunch and dinner . You're not allowed to step out of this room and use the telephone ." He pulled Akemi inside and stood in front of Shiho , looking down at her smiling evilly "Ignore the sound of the gunshots at night" He looked at her in the eyes , Shiho opened her mouth looking up at him , her wide , blue scared eyes made him smile even more.
"Go in." He smirked , stood aside to let her in , crossing his arms in front of his chest.
She walked fast to her sister and hid behind her . Gin closed the door and locked it , he leaned his back to it .
"Shiho .." He whispered with a smirk on his face .
The next day , the weather was still windy and cold . Shinichi was on the couch watching a movie , covering himself with a thin blanket . All the curtains were closed , the living room was dark .
"No ! Don't go there stupid he's waiting for you !" He threw the pillow at the screen but missed it , his voice was all over the place . Horror movie , that what he was watching in the very early morning . He held the blanket well watching , with his scared face .
"Aaaaaaahhhhhhhh !" The girl in the tv screamed as she saw the ripper .
"Aah!" He screamed pressing his hand on his chest "God ... I told you ! You deserve dying , did you think I was lying to you ?!"
He was shouting .
At the television screen .

"Shinichi-kun .. It's just a movie." The professor stepped out his room yawning .
"Oh Hakase .. Did I wake u ?" He smiled sheepishly "Gomen." He placed his hand behind his head .
"I should thank you .. I have to meet an old friend in the park , if it wasn't you I would be still snoring ." He walked to the bathroom "But be quiet .. Shiho might be resting ."
"Yes sir ." Shinichi covered himself well hugging his legs , and watched quietly .
One hour passed , and Shinichi was still watching . The professor had already left to meet his friend .
".. Good morning .." He heard that voice behind him , that cold voice ..
"Good morning ." He turned , she was standing behind the couch , wearing his jacket and cap .
"Going somewhere ?" He asked .
"I want to see her."
"What?"
She wasn't looking straight at him "I want to see her .. Your girl."
Shinichi was surprised a bit "You want to see Ran ?"
She nodded looking away .
"You know that we are not allowed to go out for a while .. Hakase said that they might be searching in the area .. And it..."
"That's why I'm wearing the cap , they won't know me without looking at my hair.." She cut off and walked to the tv . "Would you please get up and change fast ..? Before Hakase comes back." She turned off the tv and sat on the couch .
Shinichi looked at her raising one eyebrow "Why do you want to see her ?"
She did not reply ..
"Ok .." He got up folding up the thin blanket "I'll be right back.." .
"Kudo-kun.."
"Mm?" They were walking to the hospital . Both of them wearing caps and jackets , it was really cold .
"About yesterday .." Her voice was low "I'm sorry.." She looked down , walking slowly .
"It's ok .." He crossed his arms behind his head "I don't think we are enemies anymore .. I know that you just wanted to help Ran because it's your fault .." He stopped "But , I know that you didn't want to hurt us , it's not really your fault .." She stopped looking at him ..
"Maybe I don't understand you .. But , I know that you're not a bad person .."
He looked at her smiling , Shiho was just looking at him .
"Maybe we can be friends ." He started walking smiling , Shiho was surprised , that's not the Shinichi she know .. She smiled a small smile and followed him "Friends ? I'd rather die than have a friend like you ." She said mockingly .
"Oi oi!"
"Good morning sir." A beautiful nurse was sitting behind the white counter smiled at Shinichi .
"Good morning , how are you today ?" He smiled "How is Ran ? Any news?"
She shook her head "No sir , but I'm sure she will wake up soon . Is that girl with you ?" She was looking at Shiho who was standing few steps away .
Shinichi turned "Yea .. That's Shiho , a friend ."
Shiho stepped closer .
"Shiho , this is nurse Jodie .. She's the best , she let me stay with Ran for hours .. And she's taking good care of her ."
Shinichi comes here almost everyday , to see his childhood friend . But it's not allowed to sit with a patient in coma all the day . He wants to spend the whole day sitting next to her , talking to her . Jodie was the one who understood that he needs to spend more than the allowed time with Ran . She allows him secretly to stay as long as he wants , without making noises .
Shiho smiled at her "Hello."
"Hello ." Jodie smiled back .
"Um.. She wants to see Ran if that's ok , with me ."
"Why not , but please don't be too noisy .." She smiled .
"Thank you , don't worry!" He smiled a wide smile and walked away , Shiho followed him quietly .
"I love coming here in early mornings , it's so quiet ." He took a deep breath "And everything feels .. Just too clean ." He was walking in front of Shiho "You don't have to stay all the night working .. You're trying your best .." He stopped in front of the elevator and pressed on the button "You should get some rest , I .. I think Ran can wait .."
"Kudo.."
He turned, she was few steps away from him .
"I'll use the stairs .." She looked away .
"The stairs ?! Ran's room is in the fourth floor .." The elevator door opened "Comeon let's go." He stepped in .
Shiho did not move "I can't.."
"What now .." He stepped out "You're ok ?"
"Yes .. Let's go home please ." She stepped two small steps towards him.
"What? Are you serious ? What happened ? Don't be like that .. We are already here ."
He held Shiho's arm and stepped in the elevator holding her well .
"I don't want to.." She tried to pull her self away but he was still pulling her in .
"Kudo!"
"Why are you acting like a kid ! comeone.." He pulled her in .
"I don't want to !" She shouted , pulling herself away with all her force , he let her hand while she was pulling away , she fell on her back .
"Ah.."
Shinichi got closer to her fast , worried look on his face "I'm sorry .. Are you ok ..?" He gave her his hand to help her . Her face was so red , she wiped her eyes looking down "I'm fine." She said getting up without help .
"I.. I am sorry .. Are you ok ..?"
"I said I'm fine." She replied , walked slowly to the elevator "L..ets go .." He followed her in .
"Fourth floor." He pressed on the button "Aren't you hungry ? We should eat something , how about muffins ? Chocolate muffins are the best he..." He felt someone clutching to his jacket softly .
"S..Shiho ..."
She was looking down standing close to him , clutching to his jacket , her cheeks were flushing embarrassedly .
"Are you .. Scared ..?"
She closed her eyes as it moved , holding into his jacket well , she did not speak . She wanted to not show how scared she was but she couldn't . Shinichi slowly held her other hand tight , she tightened .. "I'm fine .." She whispered looking down .
They walked together in the ward , quietly ..
"Here we are .." He placed his hand on the doorknob and turned it . As the door opened , the sound of buzzing reached Shiho's ears , she had that weird feeling ..
"It's ok come in ." He walked in the dark room and she followed him closing the door behind her .
"Good morning , Ran ." He walked towards her bed , took off his cap "Guess who came to see you .." His mouth curved in a smile .
"You know that she can't hear you , right ?" Shiho took off her cap and fixed her hair , stepping closer .
Shinichi ignored her , he gently held Ran's hand sitting on the small chair besides the bed .
Ran was laying on the white bed , like a corpse .. Nothing is moving in her , she looked like she was sleeping , but she can't be woken up .
"I missed her voice .." He tightened on her hand , sad smile on his face .
Shiho sat on the other chair , next to Shinichi .
"You truly love her , don't you ?."
"I do .." He was looking at the white cold hand , touching her nails slowly .
"She's not lucky , to have a boyfriend like you ." She said sarcastically .
He smiled , a weak one "Am not her boyfriend ."
"No ? So you don't really love her .."
"I do .."
"Then ? Why aren't you together ? What are you waiting for ?"
"She .. Rejected me ." He looked at Shiho "I guess , am not her type ." He whispered .
"Who would ever accept you ?" She said mockingly , fixing her beautiful hair .
"What ?!" He turned at her "Say that again !"
"Idiot." She smirked .
They stayed there for an hour , talking , laughing , it's like they took a break from the world .
"And I finally solved the case and the criminal admitted what he'd done ." Shinichi was telling the stories of the crimes he had solved to Shiho who was enjoying listening .
"So , you had solved over 50 cases ?"
"You counted them .." He smiled sheepishly "Sorry I've talked a lot .." He scratched his head.
"Yea you did , but I'm surprised ."
"Surprised ?"
She smirked shaking her head "How can a boy like you solve these cases without any help ."
"What is that supposed to mean ?!"
"Shouting at the television ." She said , smirking .
"W..what ?" His cheeks turned red , he looked away embarrassed . Shiho giggled softly covering her mouth .
"Shut up .." He mumbled .
There was nothing to worry about , nothing to fear of . There was Shinichi , Shiho and Ran in that boring room , but it felt like there was Shinichi and Shiho , only ..
After they ate the chocolate muffins that Shiho really liked but pretended to hate , they returned back home . Lucky them , Hakase was still out .
And .. The day was so boring for Shinichi , he was all by himself there . Hakase called to tell that he will stay out till the night , with his old friend . And Shiho , as usual locking herself in that dark lab working , working , working ..
Shinichi had no choice but to watch the television , he wanted to go downstairs to stay with Shiho , he really enjoyed being with her in the hospital , but that might disturb her .
"That evil-eyed girl .." He got off the couch he was laying on .
"Isn't she tired of working ..?" He stood looking down at the dark stairway .
"I'm home!" The professor stepped in carrying a mountain of paper-bags .
"Hakase !" Shinichi rushed to help him "What are these?" He carried two full bags and walked to the kitchen . Hakase put the bags on the counter and stuffed his hand in his pocket , he pulled out a golden medal .
"I won , first place ." He said with a big smile on his face .
"What ?" Shinichi put down the bags fast and grabbed the medal "First place ?!"
"Hehehe , I never thought that someone will like my inventions , but they did and I won ." Hakase said while pulling out the vegetables "An old friend had called me yesterday , he told me that the judges found the cellphone pretty interesting.."
"Cellphone ?"
"Mm.." He shook his head "The yellow cellphone that can destroy whatever you want by the laser . You simply take a photo of what you want to be destroyed and it will be destroyed , in seconds !"
"Wow , that's dangerous .." Shinichi pulled out wrapped chicken "And what are these for ?"
"Oh , I thought maybe we should have dinner together , me , you and Shiho , just to clear the weather .."
Shinichi shook his head with a smile on his face .
"You seem in a good mood today .. Something happened ?"
"No ." He said hiding his smile .
After they had unpacked the bags , Hakase started cooking the chicken while Shinichi was washing the vegetables .
"Shiho-kun , can you please wash these dishes ?" Hakase pulled the chicken out the oven , it smelled amazingly good . She nodded picking up the white plates and walked towards the small sink .
"Hakase , you bought the newspaper !" Shinichi threw himself on the couch holding the newspaper "Oh .. A murder crime.."
"Really ? Oh that's bad .." Hakase placed the dish on the dining table .
"Mm.." Shinichi pulled himself up "In an old storage .. Twenty-four years old girl was found five days ago in that storage , dead .." He was reading , rubbing his chin "They don't know who killed her , but an old man said that he saw two men in black leaving that storage that day .." He continued .
"They are the killers for sure then .." Hakase sat on the dining chair "Poor girl , why would anyone kill a young girl .."
"Yea she looks young .."
"There's a picture ?"
"Mm , yea .. Twenty-four years old , Miyano Akemi ."
*Chsssssss!*
Shiho dropped the plates she was holding , her eyes were opened wide , shocked .
Shinichi put down the newspaper "Careful , you're ok ?" He got up and walked towards her . Shiho's eyes were looking at her shaking hands , she didn't understand , as if her brain needed to be rebooted , everything around her turned black while she was motionless in the middle.
"Onee-san .." She whispered .
"What ..? Hey you're ok ?" He stopped in front of her "Are you hurt ?"
She slowly raised her head and looked at him , her eyes were full , full of tears , she was breathing like there isn't enough air .
"Shiho-kun .." Hakase got off his chair "It's ok I will clean that .."
"N..no ... Onee-san..." She whispered .
Shinichi's eyes slowly widened "Miyano Akemi ... Could it be ?"
\As you can see there is a new student , Shiho Miyano.. Be nice to her !\
She slowly stepped small steps backward "No..."
"Shiho .. It's your sister .. Right ..?"
She turned around and was about to run , when he grabbed her wrist "Don't go .." He looked at the backside of her hair , he could feel her arm shaking in his hand.
She couldn't contain herself , she looked down , and covered her mouth with her hand as the tears started to roll down her cheeks , trying to block the sound of her heavy , painful sobs.
The only person she had is gone , forever ..
Her whimpers made Shinichi's heart ache , and break into small pieces , he was just standing there , feeling a large horrible pain in his chest as the sound of her sobs reaches his ears . He pulled her to his chest and wrapped his arms around her , her face covered with her small trembling hands , and her sobs started to get louder .
"I won't let you cry alone , not anymore .."
He gently rested his chin on her soft hair , placing one hand behind her head and one around her , her shoulders shaking with grief , he did not say a word , he just wanted her to cry her heart out , on his chest .
"Shiho ..."
Hello :3 ! First , am really really really really sorry for taking soo long , I don't know if there's someone still waiting for the update :c . I had the worst days , mid-term exams and I broke the internet router by mistake so ... Yeah . Thank you for the nice reviews it felt nice to see that my fic isn't really that bad as I thought , umm .. Am sorry for the mistakes , am trying my best and thanks for the honest comments .. This chapter was supposed to be talking about Shiho's past only but , it didn't work like how I planned ...
