Connie ran up the large path ahead of the others, she was nearly to solid ground only a few more feet to go when suddenly she started floating. Then the gravity increased and Connie seemingly slammed though the stone path like a bullet leaving no sign of her and a hole in the stone path. "Connie?!" The clearing of someones throat was heard and everyone turned on instinct before the blood froze in their veins. "I'm sorry, but you seem to be under the impression that you can escape." Fake Diamond smirked evilly with his out stretched hand distorting the air around it. "Now if you could all just get back in your cells i might juuuu-" To everyone's surprise Greg had grabbed Fake diamond planting his feet firmly before tugging him off balance and flipping him over his shoulder and off the stone path. He fell for several hundred feet the look of surprise on his face replaced by pain as his landed chest first on a hard rock.

"bu-ju, how did you so that?!" rubbed the back of his head nervously. "Well Rose and i used to watch a lot of kung fu movies." Greg was yanked off his feet and down towards the ground before he stopped in front of False Topaz's face. "That actually hurt Greg, good job. Now die quickly." Fake Diamond sent Greg flying up before slamming him into the side of the robot and blasting him creating a huge explosion. "This wither this a flea dies." The smoking remains fell towards the ground falling into the river underneath the robots feet. False Diamond smiled sadistically hearing their thoughs grind to a halt, fear and shock on all their faces, even Garnet's. "Run."

Topaz sighed as he made it through the winding corridors, hopefully this would go better. "Lapis, im here to save you!" The door opened and Topaz stood there unsure of how to procede, Lapis was just staring at him. He walked up to the cell before putting his hand through and soon the rest of him followed. "Lapis?" She just kept staring. "I know you don't know me but I'm Mystic Topaz, I'm a fusion, I'm Steven's fusion." Lapis seemed to have a flash of recognition on her face as her expression slowly changed. "We have to go, Please."

False Diamond sucked air through his teeth as he floated up to the robots head, Greg's little stunt had left him more injured than he though. 'A human did this to me, accursed thing.' Forgoing all subtlety he just smashed through the eyes and went over to the control panel. He needed time for his gem to mend a few minutes at most but a coulpe more to reinforce it to prevent that from happening again. Pressing a button on the panel the robots in the shoulder compartments and arms sprung to life. The hunt was on.

"i dont understand, why are we bringing them?!" Topaz sighed as he put Peridot over his shoulder Jasper's gem back in hos hand. "Because can you stand the thought of just leaving them here forever? I can't." Lapis flinched realizing how callous that sounded even for her. "Look i-" "I understand, but its still not right." Topaz headed for the elavator feeling Lapis' gaze on his hand as he used his powers to work the controls. The ride was going to be quick but the silence was killing him as her glare was agonizing especially since he could feel her anger like it was his. "She's not as bad as you think." Lapis finally tore her gaze away to look at his face. "I don't mean she's secretly a saint or anything, but maybe you should look at things her way, no one just becomes that way for no good reason, you don't win a war, you survive it." Lapis was confused by what he meant and the elavator opened. "Just something to think about."

Lapis looked at his back for a little while before following. "Something's wrong!" Lapis followed his gaze looking at the hole in the stone path then looked over to see blast marks on the side of the robot. "We need to hurry."

Amethyst cried out as she dodged a fist and tripped. "Ah!" A rock hit the robot in the head right before Garnet smashed it. "Thanks onion!" He waved from behind the rock he was hiding behind before a robot appeared above him, luckily Pearl killed it with a spear through the face. "They just keep coming!" The ground started shaking as dozens of robots appeared from behind one path, the gems prepared to fight the ground kept shaking as more and more kept coming through the cracks. "I jinxed it didn't i?" Garnet looked at the advancing hoard and sighed. "Yep" the gems and the people behind them took off running. The rock walls were growing closer together and they could feel them selves being herded to their deaths but they kept running. Thankfully the walls stopped closing in after a while, opening up into an open area with several rock towers on one side and a ravine on the other.

"Everyone run, Gems we make our stand here." Everyone else ran as Garnet Amethyst and Pearl looked back at the rock walls as robots flooded out. The tight space meant they couldn't flood out like before but they would be overwhelmed sooner rather than later. "Pearl, Amethyst, it's been, an experience." The two nodded as they faced down the hoard. "Lets make sure this experience ends on a high not them!" The gems looked up to see something falling out of the sky, coming down with the force of a comet. Each braced for the worst as it landed between them and the advancing machines. "Hey guys, could you hold these, kay thanks!" Topaz tossed Peridot and Jasper's gem at them which Garnet caught. "Let me handle this." Topaz turned just as a robot came down on him, he pulled his sword out and cleaved it in two before blocking a second attack as he slashed and parried. "You shall not pass!" Topaz punctuated it by sending the frontline flying back turning a few rows into scrap metal before lifting the pieces and making them float around him.

"Good news, i have my own orbit!" He launched the shards at high speed giving him more ammo as he tore through them he was aware for the gems watching him so he had to make it look good. He backed away as they actually started to overwhelm him as he focussed energy into his gem. He jumped back as even more began go pour out crossing his arms over his chest in an X. "Take this!" Topaz's beam sliced though them like a hot knife though butter as he fired right down the center where the two walls converged. He shielded his eyes as the sheer glare of his attack blinded him even with his visor on as he steadied himself. "Woah." Topaz had carved a trail of destruction leaving an ugly molten scar in the earth the space where the walls and rock once stood.

"woah." Topaz smiled thinking he'd made, one heck of an impression, he turned and his smile faded as he found Pearl's spear in his face, evidently it wasn't a good one. "Who are you?!" He uneasily backed away but Pearl kept her spear in his face. He tried jumping back but Pearl followed with a thrusT that he blocked with the palm of his hand slightly piercing it. "That's a little uncalled for don't ya think?!" Pearl didn't hear him as she looked at the tip of her spear it had this small red spot on it. "Is this blood?!" Topaz chuckled nervously. "Maybe this will explain things better." Topaz pushed on the center of his gem making the core diappear into his body before it reappeared where his belly button would be. "STEVEN?!" He chuckled as his gem reassembled. "Topaz." Jasper's gem finally started glowing again meaning she was finally coming out and Topaz excitedly took it from Garnet.

He put it one the ground and Jasoer came out mostly the same, Topaz couldn't put his finger on it but she seemed less tense overall but her face was priceless. She was just staring at the destruction he'd brought in his wake wondering why, scratch that how something could do that. "I was not ready for today." Pearl was still staring at her spear in shock, a fusion bleeding what were the chances. "I dont think any of us were." An explosion happened over head and a smoking blue something was headed for the ground. "Lapis!" Jasper surprisingly sprung up and ran forward leaping to catch her both landing, in a heap that Topaz when over to. "Are you two alright?" Jasper nodded before lifting Lapis as Topaz gathered energy in his hands letting it roll off him in wave and healing them both. "Phew it's not much but it's a start." Garnet angrily marched over and Topaz put himself between the two of them. "Take it back." Jasper looked at her confused. "Take what back?"

Garnet tried but she couldn't force her way past Topaz. "What you said about fusion! Take it back right now!" Topaz Started to sweat as Jasper stood up glaring. "But that all ther is to it Fusion is nothing but some cheap trick weaklings like you use flaunting it like it's something special and sacred, it nothing but a move to make you feel stronger!" Garnet started sparking with electricity as Japser held Lapis close to her chest, rather protectively Topaz acknowledged. "Enough!" Topaz created two shields which forced the two of them apart. "Look i won't say this again so listen up, you're both right." The two looked at him surprised. "Look Jasper, Fusion is a power booster but its also allot more complex than that on a basic level two gems have to have a deeper more meaningful connection, or else things spiral out of control, one word, Malachite." Topaz looked equally cross with Garnet. "Now look i know how you feel about fusion, i'm a fusion too you know but Jasper had a point."

"i know you don't fuse to be stronger Garnet but Fusion at its basest level is a power booster made to make gems stronger than the sum of their parts, yes there's more to it but that doesn't change the fact. I know why Steven and Diamond fused into me because they knew neither of them was strong enough to save you or defeat Fake Topaz, well Diamond would have done it but he wasn't sure if he'd live through it." Topaz dropped his shield. "Jasper i know about your, experiences with fusions during the war and how that shapes your opinion, but to Garnet, to me, Fusion is more than that, it's literally our entire being, please don't be so quick to call that into question. Okay?" Jasper seemed to freeze for several seconds before sighing and dropping her aggresive stance. "Alright, I'm sorry." Topaz sighed taking off his helmet. "Good now Garnet can you-" "no."

Topaz sighed. "Honestly, im a little disappointed in you, i thought you could be the bigger gem about this." Jasper looked at him confused. "Wait i thought i was taller." Topaz face palmed. "I keep forgetting we're aliens, Jasper its a figure of speech." "Oh" "could you please put me down." Jasper smile awkwardly setting Lapis back in her feet. "Um thanks for catching me." "Yeah, no problem, sorry about, Malachite." "No no no, that was kinda my fault too." Topaz rolled his eyes as the two tried to make some semblance of a none hostile conversation. "Eh its a start." Clapping was heard as Flase diamond appeared. "Touching and all but i think you have bigger fish to fry." Three silhouettes appeared and made theselves known. One was a large bird, the second a large wolf, the third a large serpent. "It took a lot of energy to get these guys as big as they are so i hope their size impresses you." Topaz looked at it all calmly. "Looks like it gonna be one of those mondays." 'Huh so thats conversion.'
