Hello everyone, just a quick thank you for all those who have read this from the start, as I know that my story isn't as good as others. However for those who have stuck to this from the beginning and actually enjoy this story, you rock and your support is wonderful.
ONWARDS MY COMRADES!
Natsu, for the past week as trying to work out the biggest conundrum he had ever come across, in both his past and present timelines. It was huge, and caused Natsu massive migraines every time he tried to work it out.
Was punishment from Erza, worse than this week of educational skills from hell, taught by the devil himself, Igneel?
While some would scoff and say that dealing with Erza dishing out whatever punishment she could think of was obviously the worst of the two, Natsu's current thought progress decided that it was hard to say. Igneel had forced him to improve his mental capabilities and reading and writing skills. This alone caused Natsu to be upset, but then to find out that other than the daily workout he had to do, that was your only training exercises.
Outrageous!
That was the only thought Natsu had on this week. Well that's if he had to describe it on one word, he could come with quite a few colourful words to describe his new training week.
However he would admit that he was getting better at fighting, due to his mental capabilities being greater than before (though let's be honest that wasn't much of a challenge, was it?). In order to get Natsu to stop complaining about the learning (though that's impossible since there was no fighting!) Igneel showed Natsu that if he could defeat his opponents quicker, he could have more fights more often, therefore winning more fights.
Igneel felt that just by using that logic he was getting closer to Natsu's intelligence, rather than the other way around.
While that was extremely misguided logic, it appeared to work as Natsu settled down and began to actually listen more often to Igneel's lessons than he used to. Not much improvement was made as you can only go so far before reaching a plateau.
Before Igneel knew it, it was time for Natsu to meet Tonitrua, and he found himself wishing he had more time to prepare Natsu. It was not that he didn't have confidence in his boy, it was just that Natsu was so … Natsu.
There was just something about him that made him not want to learn. In a word it was exasperating, yet there was nothing he could do. There was no time to teach him anything else and there wasn't a spell he thought he could use to help increase his mental capabilities. The only thing he could do now was pray, and hope, and wish him luck.
Did I mention pray?

Natsu loved flying, especially with Igneel, and that was only a few points better than flying with Happy. However even the thought of flying could not stop him wondering where on Earthland they were going. Igneel refused to answer any and all questions even remotely related to this journey. In fact his only words had been.
"Remember what I taught you." And then they had took off, flying dead straight, no flips or tricks like he used to.
The scenery was the only source of relaxation as it helped soothe his nerves, the constant changes of the countryside was very relaxing, and he could now understand why the others enjoyed there train rides so much.
Except Gray, that bastard just wanted to see him suffer.
After about an hour of flying Natsu started to notice how the weather was changing. The wind speed as picking up, there was rain falling down very heavily, the clouds were very dark almost black, and lastly there was constant lightning strikes all around the land. To Natsu it was very creepy and just a little bit scary.
When they finally started to descend towards a mountain he hadn't seen, Natsu finally felt the need to speak up, this was getting way too scary for him, plus he didn't possess the strength his adolescent body granted him, the only thing he had going for him currently was his abnormal magical power.
"Igneel, where are we?"
Igneel glanced up at Natsu out of the corner of his eye and noticed the anticipation in his eyes and sighed softly, he hadn't thought about the affect this atmosphere would have on Natsu.
"We are going to visit an old friend, who might accept you as a disciple for a month or two, depending on this visit." Whilst Igneel spoke he saw Natsu go through several emotions.
Curiosity, eagerness, worry, and finally settling on anticipation.
"Why do I need to become this guy's disciple? I'm fine as the fire dragon slayer!" Natsu on the other hand was quite affronted on the idea he would need anything but his dragon slayer magic to overcome any future obstacles. Conveniently Natsu forgot about all the times he used something different to win a fight, most noticeably the lightning from Laxus in the fight against Hades.
Igneel was thinking very quickly at this point. He didn't want to worry Natsu with his and Primitus' theories and needed an excuse for this extra bit of training.
"You are not gaining anything new…" technical true "… this is just extra training, to make you stronger." Igneel on the outside looked like his normal stoic, on the inside, however, was another matter entirely.
Please believe it. Please believe it. Please believe it."Oh, I guess that makes sense." Whoo, thank god for that.
"So who is this guy that's going to train me? He's got to be pretty tough if you want him to train me right?"
But before Igneel could answer that another voice interrupted them by answering the question.
"I'd like to consider myself an equal to Igneel, we are after all Kings of our respective elements."
When Natsu turned around and saw a dragon that was a light grey and smaller than Igneel, he wanted to know what was going on, but as if reading his mind, Igneel answered him.
"Natsu let me introduce to you an old friend, and hopefully your teacher for the next month or two, Tonitrua, King of the Lightning Dragons."
Natsu's face was priceless.

Two hours later and the negotiations were finally coming to an end, and Igneel was thankful Tonitrua accepted Natsu as a student, though the words he used didn't offer much encouragement.
"I could use some amusement." Whilst showing off all of his very sharp and pointy teeth did not help Natsu's confidence that much at all.
But Natsu snapped out of his thoughts as the conversation finally came to an end.
"So it's agreed, I shall come back in one and a half months to collect Natsu, and in that time you shall help him refine his Lightning magic, what little he has. Natsu train as much as possible you only have a month and half to get as much of this done as possible." Natsu gave Igneel one last hug before he flew off.
Turning around he met the maw of his new teacher and couldn't help but feel a little excited, for this was the magic that Laxus used. This was a chance to beat Laxus with his own magic, ha that would be great. Natsu chuckled at the thought of Laxus' face as his lightning was eaten away. Until a tail smacked him don onto the floor.
"That's enough chuckling, son of Igneel." Tonitrua stated as he pulled his tail back out of view. "I expect your full concentration if I am to teach you the precision required to successfully use lightning." He continued as Natsu got himself back up on two feet. "I have one and a half months to teach you, hardly enough time but I am very busy so it's all I could sacrifice, therefore we shall start immediately."
Back with Igneel, he was already half way home when …
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAARRRRRR!
"Meh, he'll be fine."

One and a half months had passed incredibly quickly for Natsu, but the amount of training they had managed to squeeze into that small period of time as unbelievable. He now had a very proficient control over his lightning magic, or more specifically his lightning dragon slayer magic, and his precision was much better than before. Baring in mind he hardly required any precision beforehand.
When Igneel finally came in sight of the mountain that held the king of the lightning dragons he watched as lightning continued to be shot out of the cave at constant rate. Landing nearby, Igneel proceed to walk up to the cave mouth and poke his head inside, only to immediately dodge a b bolt of lightning that whilst not seriously wounding, would have left his snout stinging for days on end.
Recognising the magical signature as his own son, a tic mark appeared on Igneel's head. "Natsu what the hell do you think you are doing, that could have seriously injured someone?" Not that I care that much, the only beings around here are dragons or wyverns and those pests are just asking to be blown up!
"I was training, Dad. Uncle Toni said that I should spend the last of my days trying to take out as many wyverns as I could. I'm on 50 out of 44 shots at the moment." Natsu looked positively gleeful at the thought of how proud he had made Uncle Toni. Remembering the first time he had done it had resulted in Toni to laugh maniacally as he shouted about pest control.
The statement caused the tic mark to change to a sweat drop at the obviously lame excuse that Tonitrua had come up with as a cover for Natsu to get rid of the pests that plagued all dragons.
"Right, well then I am glad you could learn how to efficiently use your lightning dragon slayer magic, but the one and a half months of training has come to an end. It is time for us to leave." Igneel didn't like the look of sadness that came across his son's face when he had finished talking, and neither did the other behemoth from the slight grimace that came across his face. But as quick as it was there, it was gone. In its place was a smirk.
"Well Natsu, before you leave, I had a little gift made for you. In the short time that I was gone I had an outfit commissioned for you, made from the scales of those wyverns you slew. And there are two great perks about this outfit. The first is that due to it being made of a sub-species of dragon they will resist you're magic, so you won't be able to burn them off or fry them." Natsu looked gleeful at the clothes he will be given, and that was only one of the perks. "The next perk is that the clothes have a spell woven into the every scale and every thread. This is a growth spell, as you get older and you get bigger, the clothes will grow with you, so there's no need for replacements." Tonitrua finished with a big grin covering his maw so that all of his teeth were showing.
Igneel on the other hand looked very disgruntled.
I only planned on giving him a scarf, how the hell am I meant to top that you damn gecko!?
"Awesome, Uncle Toni! I'll be the most badass wizard out there! Hell yeah!" Natsu of course as so excited he couldn't stop running around. Until two tails hit him, almost immediately knocking him out. "Why?" was the slurred response before he fell unconscious.
"Thank you again, Toni, for giving my son another chance."
"Anything to get rid of him."

"Hey Igneel, how long do we have left?"
It had been a while now since Natsu's unexpected journey through time and he had changed considerably.
Where once we would have been a weedy boy with a good grasp on fire dragon slaying magic, he now was very strong, a couple inches taller than the average height for his age, had excellent control of fire magic, and the same with his fire dragon slaying magic, and was quite proficient with lightning as well.
His outfit consisted of baggy three quarter length trousers in the colour white, black combat boots then finished just a little higher than where his trousers ended, and a pitch black trench coat that faded into red at the bottom. It fell down to just past his knees, and then he was still waiting his signature scarf.
"We have exactly one year left my boy, and in that one year I will teach two things. The first is fire nullification magic, which I really think all fire mages should know, and lastly is the most advanced from of fire magic in the world.
But I will tell you this boy.
I'm going to make damn sure that when you leave this place you will have learnt both, and then I'd like to see anybody try and harm you." Igneel finished with a grin.
Hi guys, sorry it's been so long since I last updated but I just want you to know that I will not give up, take huge breaks maybe, but this story will be finished or so help me god…
Anyway what did you guys think, after been gone for a while was it worth the wait, or am I just so horrible?
Don't forget there is a poll for the pairing and lastly can any of you guess what the other form of magic is.
