AN: Hello peoples :) I want to thank everyone who reviewed and/or reviewed. I'm happy with the results I'm getting but I'm hoping to get a bit more. Not expecting much, just keep those reviews coming! Oh, also if you haven't noticed I made a website for myself. I couldn't figure out Blogspot so I did it using ( .com) lol It's as cool as the other blogging websites, no big deal. But whatever I post on FF will also be posted there as well like banners, stories, and updates so check it out when you can and leave a comment or two there. Anyway chapter 5…

Disclaimer: Twilight Saga belongs to Stephanie Meyer. All characters belong to her as well, I just like playing with them ;).

Chapter 5

"You've got to be fucking kidding me."

Her bright smile suddenly disappears as soon as the thought is out of my mouth. And I feel like shit for even thinking about it.

She has this look on her face like I just killed her puppy and I immediately apologize. "I'm sorry I just.. that's not something I hear every day." How about not at all.

She nods and speaks softly to me. "I know." I believe her because I'm looking at her eyes and all I see is truth among other things I can't pin right now. I sigh and run my hand through my hair as she sits there and watches me. I don't know what the hell to say right now so I just cut straight to it.

"Are you serious? About this.. mate thing." The word is so foreign to me yet it comes out so smoothly. I have thought about the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with as my mate but I thought it would never happen. I think about the stories my grandmother told me about how I would find a girl like no other, that we were destined to be together.

She nods, her eyes hopeful like before. She looks at me like she needs my approval or something and I look at her. Really look at her. She isn't like anyone I've ever seen in my life. Somehow I see through the fog in my mind when I'm in her presence and I see things I didn't see before. Her skin is so pale, even for the folks around here. She isn't cold by a long shot, I could tell from the warmth radiating from here just by being next to her at the piano. Her hair, weird to think about, I know but it's an unnatural color. It's a dark brown, like mahogany with it's red tints and shades. It's beautiful and hers, natural. I know these things because I'm a doctor and I've seen it all, even in small town Forks. From fake implants to contacts, there was always something a woman didn't appreciate enough without the occasional nip and tuck.

That's when I remember. Her eyes. She's been fidgeting the whole time, her silver bound fingers playing with the blanket around her hips.

"Your eyes." I say out loud. She looks at the floor like it's the most interesting thing in the world.

I never liked when people didn't look at me during a conversation or ignore me and she's been doing that for a while now. I step up to her and lift her chin up to look at me. "Look at me, Isabella." I say firmly. She does.

When she looks at me with those beautiful orbs I can't help but soften to her. I sigh and kneel down to her level. I instinctively take her hand in mine, her cold, metal rings contrasting to her warm soft skin.

"Explain to me, please. I am willing to talk to you about this."

She looks at me, saying so much with those eyes. "It's complicated." She says warily.

I smirk at her. "I think I can keep up. Just try me."

Like I said before. I'm a doctor so I've seen it all. I really had hoped it wasn't a stalker ex-boyfriend thing or something but I'd deal with it for her. I'd deal with anything for her. I'm just starting to realize this now.

She smiles a bit and brings her lip n between her teeth, chewing on her bottom lip. I bring my hand to her cheek and work it back out of her teeth, soothing her lip with my thumb. "Talk." I encourage softly.

It's quiet for a moment as we just look at each other when she speaks slowly. "I don't think you'll believe me but I'm still going to tell you the truth. I was going to have to, sooner or later.." she adds after a bit quieter. She takes a deep breath, sighing shakily. "You are my mate. Where I am from, there is a prophecy and it has to deal with us." She starts, looking at me. I nod, showing her I understand. She takes another deep breath before getting up and wrapping her blanket around her, standing in front of me.

She stands differently than I've seen her before and her confident voice almost surprises me.

"My name is Isabella Marie Swan. I am an Immortal."

"Immortal?" I echo.

She nods. "Yes."

"As in you can never die." She nods again.

I sit down fully on the floor. A little mind boggled. An Immortal..

"What.. what are you saying. I.. I heard you.. I just can't register this.." I say running my hands through my hair.

She nods, seeming to be expecting this. "I am apart of a different species than yours. Physically we are the same, almost. But we are much different than humans. There is no real name for us, we are not even supposed to be known to exist. A lot of us have been alive for thousands of years, stuck at the age we were turned or born. We exist among the population of humans because we look like them, talk like them. Although, we live in another place because we do not act like humans." She finishes, looking at me.

I take this in and somehow I can understand it. I nod at her, feeling a little dazed.

She smiles at me in awe and shakes her head a bit. "I never knew you would be so accepting.."

I chuckle a bit. "I don't even know what to say but.. I believe you. I've always believed in things that normal people wouldn't believe in and I know you're telling me the truth. Don't ask me how though." I end it at that.

"I already know." She says smiling and sitting down across from me.

I squint my eyes at her. "What do you already know?"

"That you're technically one of us. I know that you know about us. About the prophecy. You may or may not have known all the details but you know something."

I nod. "I do. My grandmother use to tell me stories about our family but I thought she was crazy. She told me of a place that sounded so real and she told me about this prophecy. I haven't heard it in so long though, I don't remember everything."

She nods. "The prophecy says that a man and a woman will find each other on the eve of day that the thousandth sun has set. They are the key to the future." She says softly. I nod too because I remember that part. "That's it?" I ask. I could have sworn it was more than that. "Yes. I'm guessing that the main part was for us to find each other and let the rest fall into place." I just sit there, looking at her and watching her. Seems like she's doing the same and I can't help but smile. When I do, her breath hitches and she slowly smiles back. She's so beautiful.

I pull her to me gently, letting her sit in my lap when I wrap my arms around her warm body. I can't help but sigh in content when I bury my nose in her soft hair, inhaling her scent. She leans into me, her head falling on my shoulder. I squeeze her tighter when her hands rest on top of mine. "Why did you leave me that night?" I whisper. She left me there, cold and alone. After what we shared together, she left. I had a right to ask.

"I had to." She whispers back. "I wasn't supposed to be there when you woke up. But I followed you home, to make sure you were ok." She nuzzles her face into my neck and I can't hold in a growl. I nibble at her ear and I feel her body trembling. I was concerned until she rubbed her ass against my crotch, her blanket opening with every movement. I whisper huskily in her ear when I still her hips with my hands. "You know, I've wanted you ever since that night. The night you left me, aching and wanting." She nods against my neck and sighs softly when I touch her soft tummy, caressing her some. "I'm sorry." She whispers. I chuckle darkly. "You will be."
