Chapter 5: The Second Karaoke Tournament: Part 1
Sorry this took so long, I was busy trying to work on the next couple of chapters but had trouble due to writers block and what the next few chapters feature, but otherwise, I hope you enjoy this and thanks for reading.
[Monica's P.O.V.]
We just went through the "Return to the Past" and I just witnessed Sissi kissing Geo again but this time I could sense another mind watching I turned and saw that it was Jack. His eyes find mine and he looks curious. I point around to outside and he nods. I quickly run outside and away from Geo and Sissi. I find Jack pacing, his hand rubbing the back of his head.
"Jack, are you okay?" I ask him. He looks towards me.
"What was all that Monica?" He asks me coming closer.
"What do you mean? Sissi kissing Geo?" I ask him.
"No. Not that the whole costume thing and defeating that monster looking thing, and then a bright light and now I'm back to witnessing Sissi kissing Geo?" He says. My mind snaps into realization.
"You mean you saw all of that?" I ask him.
"Yes, Monica! I saw all of it. I saw you disappear then reappear in a different costume and then you moving stuff around with your mind and shooting stuff with arrows. I'm going to dismiss the fact that you looked hot because I'm totally freaked out." I blush. "That's not the point. How can you do all this stuff?" He asks me grabbing onto my shoulders.
"Uh-uhm. I-I" I stutter.
"Please tell me? I saw you almost get pummeled and I want to help you. I don't want you to get hurt." He says pulling me closer.
"Why do you want to help me?" I ask him, changing the subject.
"Ugh! Monica!" He says. He lets go of one arm and drags me to the music room making sure no one else is in there. I'm truly afraid at this point.
"What Jack! You're hurting me." I say when we get there. He lets go with an "I'm sorry."
"What do you-" I'm quickly cut off by Jack when he kisses me. I stand there in shock but my love for him gets the best of me and I melt into the kiss. I smile a little when I feel the familiarity of his lips on mine. Too soon he pulls away.
"That is why I want to help you." He says looking me in the eyes.
"O-okay." I stutter, my mind still blank from the kiss.
"Now will you tell me what happened?" He asks me. I look down and after thinking for a second I nod.
"There is this thing called Lyoko. Geo, Yumi, May, Aelita, Jeremy, Odd, Ulrich, William, and I are all involved. We go into a virtual world and defeat these monsters that come from an evil thing called Xana. Since Geo and I came there has been a leak of those monsters to the real world. So Geo has come up with a device to change us into our Lyoko forms without having to head to the tubes and wasting time. We all have a certain trait that brings us all together but Aelita, May, and I have the most. I'm telekinetic. I can move things with my mind and actually do a lot with my mind such as mind control, mind reading, and of course telekinesis." I say out of breath. Jack looks to me in concern.
"Did you hit your head or something Monica? Do I need to take you to the nurse?" He asks me.
"No I'm telling the truth." I say before I grab his hand.
"How do I know?" He asks me. I sigh in exasperation before I make him look into my eyes and both our eyes glaze over and I show him exactly how.
[Monica's and Jack's Vision, Third P.O.V.]
Monica runs to the tubes and then suddenly she's in Lyoko form. She runs to the monsters and lifts her hands making them stop and suddenly there is a tornado coming from Monica and taking out the monsters.
The scene changes to when she's in the lunch room and she hears Jack's footsteps. She turns and her face is bright. It soon falls when she sees him with Sissi. She runs to her room and falls on her bed crying. She gets up with a tear stained face and goes to the mirror. With her powers she makes herself look better and cleaner. Then she smashes the mirror with a rock that was outside and Monica's mind brought in. Looking at herself she fell on the floor and repaired the mirror, too lazy to do it herself.
The scene changes to herself seeing Sissi and Geo kiss then sensing Jack.
The scene changes to the future. Jack and Monica are fighting back to back in their Lyoko forms both shooting arrows. Once their done fighting Monica puts a bubble around them and turns to Jack before hugging him. He pats her head as she cries into his shoulder. His blueish gray armor barely getting wet. He looks to the girl in his arms. Her blue armor scratched and a bit of her bleeding. The blood mixing with the blood red fabric on her right shoulder. He brings her head up and then kisses her. The scene darkens as Monica gets out of the vision.
[Monica's P.O.V.]
I get out of the vision and Jack looks dazed. I nudge him a little bit and he shakes his head.
"Did you just do that?" He asks me. I nod shyly.
"How?" He asks.
"I told you. I am telekinetic. Apparently I can tell the future too. And give memories. Never knew I could do that." I say smiling.
"Can I help?" He asks. I look to him and smile. I nod.
-Friday-
[Geo's P.O.V.]
I wake up and quickly change before saying goodbye to Jeremy and heading downstairs to the lunchroom. I see a lot of people giving me looks of disbelief and very few with jealousy.
Most were girls.
I can only guess why.
Energy flows down my arm but goes unnoticed as it's covered by my jacket sleeve. I can feel the electricity going across my body and I use the excess energy to find the one person I'm looking for.
Looking…looking…looking… and bingo.
Next thing I know I'm standing near a smirking Sissi.
"What did you do?!" I say in anger.
"Tell everyone the truth about how you kissed me and hit on me"
"Okay you and me and other witnesses all know how much of crap that is!" I start getting louder.
The crowd is getting bigger, perfect, now the truth shall be revealed.
"What, that you forced yourself onto me?"
"That you kissed me when I was just going to my room and minding my business"
"Hey, calm down, everything is going according to plan" she whispers.
"Plan? PLAN!? This was all an elaborate scheme just to humiliate me?!" I start shouting.
The energy is now going unchecked all over me and I feel the power surging.
"What? Of course not, just admit the truth and maybe my father will go easy on you"
"Easy on me, EASY ON ME!? Are you serious right now! You would rather lie and ruin my reputation for your own selfish needs?! Do you have any idea how stupid and selfish that sounds? If you don't then look in a mirror, you'll get an almost exact match!" the look of disbelief she had was priceless.
I walk away in anger and those who moved out of the way I would later hear talking about electricity coming off of me and the rage coming off of me even making them cringe.
The doors of the lunchroom open automatically but no one notices as my hand is near so it looks like I opened them.
I grab my breakfast and sit down before I start eating. I still feel glares on me as I take a large bite of my cinnamon roll and see May walk in.
She sits down and smiles at me as I smile back. So she doesn't know about what Sissi did.
"About that rumor"
Spoke too soon.
"Whatever you heard-"
"It's a load of lies"
"-I swear she lied- wait what?"
"It's Sissi, I know she isn't honest enough to tell the truth about what happened" she paused "I also room with the girl, I sat there for 20 minutes while she bragged about it to her 'friends' on the phone before she realized I was there and went to bed"
"…that bad huh?" I say.
"Yeah"
I pause, carefully contemplating my next words.
"I-I think I need your help with something" I say, taking a chance and saying it out loud.
"What do you need?"
"I think I n-need you to help me break up with Allyson"
"…that's it?"
"You don't mind?" I blink.
"N-no, she's mean; it w-was b-bound to happen sometime"
I finish eating and get up. "Alright, I've gotta go grab my stuff, wanna come?"
"Why?"
"In case Allyson gets to me before I get to my room"
She shrugs before she stands up and walks with me outside.
Soon enough, I was right as Allyson finds me and May.
"Geo, we need to talk" she says darkly.
"W-w-whatever y-you heard is o-o-out of c-context-" May tries to reason.
"Shut it you" Allyson tells her.
"She's right you know" I try.
"I don't believe it for a second." Allyson sneers.
"Fine don't believe me. Even though I just told you the truth." I tell her.
"Why should I believe you? You've probably been sneaking around with every girl in this school." She sneers again.
"That is where you are wrong again." I hear Monica say. I turn around and there she is again to save the day.
"What are you talking about brat?" Allyson says, looking her up and down. Monica only smiles.
"I saw what happened and I know someone else was too. So there are witnesses." Monica says and I smile. You didn't just read my memories did you? I ask her. She looks to me and slightly shakes her head.
"So what? No one will believe you." Allyson says.
"W-What makes you t-think that? M-Monica has more influence in th-this entire school th-then you d-do in your p-pinkie nail." May said, stuttering but still standing her ground.
"I would've thought you cared more about Geo then some stupid rumor anyways." Monica says.
"I do-' She says before she's cut off.
"Obviously not or we wouldn't be here arguing about it." I say.
"What's going on here?" Sissi says.
"Oh come on!" I say exasperated.
"We're just discussing why you kissed Geo." Monica says staring Sissi down.
"I didn't he came onto me." She says with a smug look.
"Yeah, whatever. I saw you, I'm pretty sure Jack saw you, and you were blabbing to your friends about it in front of May. You're out of odds, Sissi. Stop lying." Monica says. I smile again.
"You're not going to tell anyone are you?" Sissi asks her. Monica rolls her eyes and so does May.
"Why wouldn't I? That's my brother. I'm not going to lie for your benefit." Monica says.
"How about we make a bet?" Allyson says, smirking. We all look to her.
"On what?" I ask her.
"A singing competition. If Monica wins then Sissi has to tell the entire school. If Sissi wins, Monica has to keep her mouth shut." Allyson says. We all are silent for a second before Monica looks to me and smiles a little thinking about the timeline and what we need to do.
"Fine. I'll do it. And when I win, you will have to go on stage and tell everyone that you are a liar." Sissi says, mischievously. Monica rolls her eyes.
"S-she'll be the one winning s-so there is nothing she will have to do." May says and I smile to her.
"Yeah okay." Allyson and Sissi laugh. We all roll our eyes and leave.
"Thanks Monica." I say. She nods to me and waves to May.
"Glad to help. I'll see you guys later I'm going to head to my room and start getting ready for the end of this week." She says heading to her dorm.
We watch her leave and smile. I turn towards May and look into her eyes.
[Monica's P.O.V.]
I'm walking around the commons with Aelita when someone comes up to me. It's Milly.
"Hey Milly." I say smiling.
"Hey Monica, Aelita. Are you ready for the singing tournament?" She asks me.
"Wait. Sissi made it public?" Aelita asks.
"Yeah. Her dad made it a huge dance." She says excited. I smile at her excitement.
"Yes, Milly. I'm ready." I say still smiling. She skips away smiling and Aelita and I laugh.
"Are you really ready Monica?" Aelita asks.
"I mean I'm just going to relax. I've sang a bunch of times. This is no different. I've performed in front of a couple of hundreds of people. I'm not worried." I say. She nods and we head back to our dorm.
[At the tournament. Still Monica's P.O.V.]
I walk in with William. I'm wearing a simple white strapless high-low dress with a jean jacket with a red ribbon going around my waist. My lips are a red color and I have a G clef note on my necklace. I'm also wearing nude colored pumps and my hair is wavy. How I'm walking I have no idea. We see Geo and Allyson arguing and I roll my eyes. I turn to the right a little and see Jack and Sissi. My heart clenches but then Jack looks at me. He smiles and I smile back raising my hand in a wave. He winks and I roll my eyes in a joking manner.
I walk to the sign up table and sign in. William already left to go to the punch table so I went to find Yumi and Ulrich. I found them and they were with Aelita, Odd, and Jeremy.
"Hey guys." I say. They all look at me.
"Hey Monica. How are you feeling?" Yumi asks.
"Good. Kinda nervous but ready." I say, shrugging. They all smile.
"Alright, how about we start this off with a Mr. Geo West and Allyson!"
Geo walked up to the stage and Allyson as well with a scowl.
He did a little wave and she was still scowling.
Jim handed the mike to Allyson and she snatched it away. This can't be good.
[Geo's P.O.V.]
I get ready to take the stage before Allyson starts yelling at me.
"Wait! You have to choose!" she yells.
"Choose what?" I ask her.
"Between me and your little 'friend' May." She scowls.
I look to May and her face is filled with shock.
"There's nothing between us. She's just my friend." I lie.
"Who's to say it won't, so it's either me or her!"
"I choose her"
"I knew you would… wait what" she blinked.
"You're making me choose between my friend and you, and that's not exactly a good thing for a girlfriend to do"
"What are you saying?"
"I'm saying we're through"
"Wha-"
"We are zip, nada, no longer a thing anymore"
She goes red with anger before she picks the mike back up.

"Married? We're not even dating!" I say, only loud enough for her to hear me.

She finishes and I roll my eyes.
"Yeah I hope not because there will be no 'someone like Geo'. He's one of a kind!" May said, before she looked at me blushing. I smiled and got an idea. I jumped onstage and took the mike from Allyson.
"Sorry Allyson but we are not getting back together. I never cheated on you. A good girlfriend would believe her boyfriend when he's telling the truth. You are not. So goodbye." I say before nodding to the DJ and starting the music.

I finished and looked to the crowd and Allyson's glowering face. I smirked and Jim came up onstage.
"What a show? Who do you think is the winner of this round? Miss Allyson or Mr. Geo West?" He says. He lifts Allyson's hand and she gets a small clap. I hear a little bit of laughter. Then he lifts my hand up and there is a much bigger clap and more cheers. I smile and Jim laughs.
"Geo West is the winner! Next up Monica West and Sissi Delmas!" He says. I look to Monica and she nods.
You gonna say something? I ask her. I'll try the best I can. She says back with a sad smile. She and Sissi make their way up to the stage and get ready sing.
"Let's just see who wins this round okay stooge?" Sissi says. I roll my eyes and watch as Monica's expression changes from sad to determined.
[Monica's P.O.V.]
As soon as she said 'Stooge', I instantly knew what to sing. But before I could say anything Sissi pushed me out of the way and grabbed the mike. I got off stage and she began to sing. I rolled my eyes knowing the song.

As soon as she finished doing her song and doing her travestying moves, I rush onstage and grab the mike.
"That's great, Sissi. But instead of focusing on just yourself maybe you should try to focus on your failing relationship." I say, looking at her with disgust.
"Oh. Really? So what are you going to do about it, darling?" She asks.
"Something I should've done a long time ago. I'm going to tell you how to do things that you should've done." I say before looking to Jack. The music starts and I keep my gaze on him.

I finish and Jim comes up onstage.

They lift Sissi's hand and she gets cheers and 'applause'. But, when Jim lifts my hand the cheers are strong and loud. I smile and I'm escorted offstage when Jim announces my win.
I got offstage and Jim announces that the next two contestants are Jack and some other kid I have no name of. Jack is first and he smiles at me before the music starts.

I smile as he finishes. He is glaring at Sissi and she looks shocked.
"Sissi I'm sorry but we're through." He says and he hands the mike to the other kid. He gets off stage and he winks at me before Sissi and him start arguing. I smile to myself as the other kid sings and I start to think about the next thing in this messed up timeline.
