Chapter 6: The Second Karaoke Tournament: Part 2

[Geo's P.O.V.]

I sit down at a table, waiting for the second round to start. I take a sip of my punch when May sits down next to me.

"Hey" I smile at her. She smiles back.

"A-are you n-nervous" she nervously asks me.

"Are you?"

"T-touché" she replies.

I chuckle before I take another sip of my punch.

I finish before I dump the rest out as the next round starts.

"Alright, now it's time to begin round two of the tournament. Our top eight include as follows: Geo West, May Bellis, Jack Song, Monica West, Aelita Stone, Odd Della Robia, Max Xavier-Leon, and [insert random name here]!"

I nod silently as May slightly trembles from the attention. Well it can't get any worse than this.

"And first up is May Bellis vs. Geo West!" cheers erupt from that announcement. Why is it that whenever someone makes that comment, something just happens to completely mess with the person who says it.

We both walk on stage and May is still trembling.

"Hey, relax, okay?" I whisper to her, and give her a smile that causes her to slightly blush.

I pick up the mike and began singing

I finish and pant a little while cheers erupt and I turn and smile at those cheering. I turn to May, who is slightly blushing a little. I hand her the mike, which she bashfully accepts.

She walks to the edge of the stage and takes a couple of deep breaths. Good luck May, I think before she starts to sing.

Well that was really good. She hit every note and she looks beautiful. She smiles to me. I smile back as I take the stage and stand next to her.

[Monica's P.O.V.]

After Jim announced the winner between Geo and May I went against one of the kids whose name I didn't know and I won. They wanted to go ahead and get the first finals round finished so I went against May. I stay onstage and she smiles to me as she walks up. I smile back and hand her the mike. I send her a burst of confidence and the music starts.

That was really good. I smile as she gets off stage and hands me the mike.

"Good l-luck" She whispers to me. I smile and nod back. I get onstage and the music starts playing.

I didn't realize that I was looking at Jack until I had finished. Jim comes back onstage and announces me as winner. I look to May and she smiles gratefully. I get off stage and Jack stops me.

"After all of this will you save me a dance?" He asks, and I smile then nod. He smiles his 1000-watt smile and goes onstage.

After a few more half hours, it's finally the finals and it's me against Jack. I get onstage just as he does and he challenges me. I shake my head and wink at him.

"You're first then." I say handing him the mike and getting offstage. I watch as he gets an idea and I jump into his mind. I snort when I figure out his idea and sit back and watch. Aelita comes and sits next to me. Jack grabs a guitar and starts strumming before he sings looking at me.

I'm blushing so hard because he was singing that to me. I get up and I'm cheering for him, but now it's my turn. He comes towards me and holds me in place. My heart starts to race.

"Don't mess up." He whispers in my ear. It sends shivers down my back and I smile to shake it off.

I go up to the DJ and ask if he has a keyboard I can use. He smiles and nods before turning around then grabbing it and setting it up for me. He motions for me to take a seat and turns on the keyboard. I put it in the right mode (Grand Piano of course) and start to play the right key. I have to change the version so it fits my soprano voice. I look to Jack and he looks right back questioning. I smile and wink before I sing and take my eyes off of him and onto the keys.

I finish the song and the applause is ridiculously loud. I feel something tugging in my mind and i turn to see Jack staring at me in awe. Show off. I hear Geo snort in my mind. I roll my eyes and find him in the crowd. Jealous? I ask him. Never, Nikki. He says smirking.

Before I know it Jim is next to me and Jack is as well.

"That was wonderful! Now the winner will be known after we see what our judges think. For Jack the scores are: 9,9, and a 10! For Monica the scores are: 10, 10, and 10! A perfect score! Congratulations, Monica West!" Jim yells into the microphone. I laugh and Jack hugs me.

"Can we have an encore from our winner?" Jim asks.

"Yes, but first we have to get something straight. Can I get Sissi Delmas onstage, please?" I say smiling.

"What do you want stooge?" She asks when she gets onstage.

"I believe we had a bet Miss Delmas. Now it's time to pay up since I won." I say smirking. She huffs in annoyance and grabs the microphone from me.

"Geo was hitting on me while he was dating Allyson and I was dating Jack. He kissed me too." She says. Everyone gasps. I roll my eyes.

"Okay now say the truth because you have a few witnesses here that can disagree with that statement"

"That was the truth." She says glaring at me.

"No it wasn't!" I hear Geo yell, "I have proof!"

"Oh and what proof." She asks.

"This." He says before he connects some stuff and a projection is showing the whole thing. I smile and my eyebrows rise in approval.

"You see? Mr. Delmas it seems that your daughter is a cheater." I say.

"I would like to hear this from Jack." Mr. Delmas says. I nod and hand Jack the microphone.

"I was also a witness and Sissi did 'jump' onto Geo. But, like I said before. Sissi we're over." He says and pulls me around the waist. I blush and smile.

But soon enough, the moment ends when the entire building is rocked by an explosion. I spot Geo when he starts to fall over and May manages to catch him.

People start screaming and I spot the Kankrelat monster from before shooting through the window.

Almost everyone starts running out of the opposite side of where the monster is.

"GEO!" I shout out to him, he's one of the only ones left when the monster jumps into the building,

"ON IT!" he shouts back as I see May run and hide along with Max before Geo places the two gems on his gloves to his belt.

Access, the voice announces before he twists the buckle off the side of his belt before he forms and X with his arms and he rotates his arm so that he's revealing the buckle to them and the back of his left hand (he's holding the buckle with his right hand) before he slides it into the slot.

Insert, he hits the disc on the belt and spins it. Energize. A line of energy erupts from the disc and strikes the Kankrelat monster before returning back to Geo. The line heads towards his chest before it splits into four and recombines behind him. It floats there before it snaps onto his skin and turns it crystal before it goes out a couple of centimeters and turning into a suit and then his face and head does the same thing before becoming a helmet.

X-Guardian Engaged!

Geo pulls out the sword key before he places it into the belt and types in the code before closing it and then spinning the disc again. Key #02: Sword Engaged!

The sword appears in Geo's hand before he rushes forward and begins striking the Kankrelat with the blade.

"That's your guys cue, get to Lyoko!" he calls out to us.

"What's Lyoko?" Max asks before May drags him to where ever she's going.

[May's P.O.V.]

I drag Max to the manhole and force him down the ladder.

"An unsanitary way of hiding, why May, why!?" he questions.

I keep quiet and drag him to the factory. I force him into the elevator and when we get there, I shove him in a scanner. "S-stay here and k-keep quiet!" he nods before I head up and tell Jeremy to go.

I step into the tube and feel energy coursing through me before I land in an unfamiliar forest area.

"Whoa, this is so cool!" Max shouts. He's wearing a bright green jumpsuit under a silver jacket. He's wearing a black belt that's holding a orange buckle similar to the one Geo uses in his belt when he transforms into that armor. There is a small ball on his waist attached to a rope and a small handle. There's also a toolbox on the belt as well containing who knows what. He looks both weird and cool at the same time.

He takes the handle with the ball off his belt and the handle enlarges along with the ball changing to have spikes on it.

He has a wide grin on his face.

"Um, May, why is he here?" Jeremy questioned. "I d-didn't really have m-much of a ch-choice, he would have r-remembered a-about L-Lyoko" I tell him.

"That's what return to the past is for, with it, we can erase the memories of events that happened with towers and only those who have been in Lyoko before is able to remember them"

I blink. "Whoops"

"Yeah, big mistake, how do we know we can trust him, you just met the guy a couple of days ago!"

"Hey, I may be childish, but I can keep a secret" Max said to him.

Jeremy sighed into his headpiece. "Alright, we'll give him a test run, but if he fails then he's your problem"

"Was he like this when you first came here?"

"Was? He s-still is" I retort.

"Heard that, there's a group heading your way, Max, you have the mace and the ability to construct a weapon through the random combinations of items in the toolbox on your waist"

Max looked at the toolbox and set it on the ground before he opened it up and took out a handle with a trigger. He then grabbed another piece and attached it to the top of the handle before he took what resembled a scope and attached it to the top and grabbed another piece and attached it to the front and took a cylinder with a gauge on it that had red, yellow, and green on it, with all three lit up and attached it to the space between the newly attached front piece and the one attached to the handle.

It now resembled a large gun.

"Now THIS is awesome!" he exclaimed, a large grin apparent on his face.

Then a sudden laser ran between the group us.

We both turned to see an army of monsters rushing towards us. "Cool, just like a video game!" Max says, excitedly before he starts firing. The shots he fire resemble bullets except bright green, as if made of pure energy. The first quarter of the green gauge begins to blink.

"Limited ammo M-Max, c-careful on h-how you use it" I tell him before I take out a dagger and a large bowstaff that has an axe on one end and a hammer on the other.

I combine the daggers to form a double-bladed mode. "Iku Ze!" I shout out.

"What does that mean?" Max asks, holding his fire for a brief moment.

"...I have no idea, I just heard Geo say it at least once before"

Max nearly falls over before he begins firing again. The gauge is still on the green but it's so far only halfway depleted.

I charge the group charging back at us while Max is just sitting there firing as well.

[Geo's P.O.V.]

"That's your cue guys, get to Lyoko!" I call out to them before I charge the Kankrelat monster.

I hear Max ask what Lyoko is before I start slashing across the chest of the Kankrelat. I kick it in the stomach before I punch the face and hit it with the hilt of my sword. I stab the stomach before I hit it with my elbow and round kick it in the face.

"Good job geo, it's almost too easy for you!" Monica shouts out.

She's right, it is too easy. Something's up, but I can't tell just yet. Well, here goes nothing.

Next thing I know, there's a key in my hand labeled #01: X. I put it into my belt and open the panel before I type in a code and close it before I spin the disc once more.

Energy shoots out of the belt and gathers around my feet and forms a green X. I put my right leg back and bend my left, preparing myself as power surges through me.

X Guardian, the female voice announces. I jump into the air. X Burst, the male voice announced.

The X is still at my feet but one line begins to spin clockwise while the other spins counter-clockwise.

Kick Engaged, both the male and female voices announce before gravity finally takes hold and I begin to drop at an angle towards the Kankrelat while both lines of the X spins like a drill.

"X Burst Kick!" I shout as I shoot forward and the kick hits the Kankrelat directly in the chest and I go right through it.

My feet hits the ground and when I regain my balance I spin around to see the Kankrelat stagger around before the bulls-eye reappears and the Kankrelat begins to explode.

I smirk and I'm about to deactivate my transformation when I hear something. Then the next thing I know, I am on the ground from a laser strike.

When I get back up, there's another monster standing near the doorway. It resembles a Blok. Okay if this keeps going on, then Xana will run out of ideas for monsters to mutate. If it is Xana that is.

"Great, just great" I say before I brandish my sword and charge once again. I get only a foot before a sudden laser freezes my arm so now, my right shoulder is freezing and it can't move. I try to move forward more but I'm suddenly shot by a regular laser and I hit the wall.

I can't even get close. Well, here goes nothing, again. I brandish my sword before I charge again. When the next laser rockets towards me, I move slightly to the side and deflect the laser slightly, sending it to the wall. It actually worked. I go even faster now and so do the lasers.

I spin around and deflect the last one before I rush forward and stab the Blok straight in the chest. But unfortunately the blade breaks into a bunch of pieces. "W-What?" I say in Japanese before the Blok punches me in the gut and throws me back to the wall. When I do, I stare at the remaining piece of the sword, the hilt. There was still a bit of ice on it.

Of course, that last blast must have been a freezing laser and instead of deflecting it, it simply froze.

Well, I am done for now. I dodge a barrage of lasers and hide behind a flipped over table.

I look back over for a brief moment to see Monica holding something and there's an aquamarine mark on the back of her hand and then I go back down when the lasers come over my head again. I reach to the pack of keys but there's one missing. The slot is marked #05.

I run towards the Blok and take a chance to punch it in the stomach and face before I kick it in the chest and then punch it in the face.

Then I get hit by a laser and then a blue one hits me in the chest, freezing my chest and stomach before I crash into the wall near Monica.

She looks for a brief moment before she calls out "Geo, you dropped this" and tosses me a cylinder. It's marked Key #05 M. Also known as, the key I lost earlier.

"What was with the mark on your hand earlier?" I ask, standing up.

"I don't know, it just started leaking energy into the key, that's all I know"

"Alright, I'll take your word for it" I say before I walk forward and put it into my belt.

"What are you doing?" She asks.

"The key fits in my belt, so it can be used for something"

"But you haven't exactly tried out all the keys yet"

"Your point?" I say before I put the end in the belt and twist it, opening it up before I type in a code and close it before I spin the disc.

Key #05, the female voice starts. M-Archer, Engaged, the male voice finishes

Another line of energy bursts out of the belt and hits the Blok before it starts to circle around me. The line then hits my chest and goes up before going down and up a couple more times, forming a silver M.

Then the suit turns a lightish blue color and I feel my strength decreasing strangely enough.

"Alright, let's do this!" I shout in Japanese again as the Blok shoots lasers at me which I quickly dodge. I front flip over a freezing one before I hold my hand out in front of me and I lift up the Blok before I send it into the wall.

"Ha! You never told me just how fun Telekinesis is!" I told Monica before I take out a new key and insert it into my belt and type in a new code and close the panel before I spin it again.

Key #06, the female voice announced. Strike Arrow, Engaged! The male announced before a bow appeared and I grabbed the handle.

It was the same color as the suit was right now, a lightish blue and had an M sticking out with the middle pointing outwards with the outer parts of the M as well and a handle on the rope that was attached to the M, as if there was already an arrow there. It charges and I retaliate with a slash to its gut and a pulse of telekinesis

I pull the handle back and energy began to fill up the M and when I release my hold, rays of energy shaped like arrows shoot out of the bow and hit the Blok, sending it out of a window.

I follow into the night and I see a crowd staring at me and the Blok, which was struggling to get up. I take the key and place it in my belt before I type in a code and close it before I spin the disc.

Key Charge

I take the charged key and place it into the Strike Arrow before I pull the handle back and energy gathers into the arrowhead.

Strike Arrow, the female voice announced. Arrow Blitz, the male announced. Barrage Engaged! Both shouted.

"M-Arrow Barrage!" I release the handle and the energy arrow shoots out of the Strike Arrow and begins to enlarge before it shoots straight through the Blok. The bulls-eye appears where the arrow struck and the Blok explodes and I spin around.

The line comes off of me and the suit disintegrates back into my belt.

[Max's P.O.V.]

I shoot at the oncoming monsters and the next thing I know, the green bullets turn yellow. I stop firing for a moment and look at the gauge to see that it's on yellow. I shrug before I keep firing the bullets. I cease firing before I pull out the gauge and place it into a slot on my toolbox before I start disassembling it and then remake it into a large sword with a little gun nozzle. I then pull the ball and stick of my belt and it changes into a mace

I start swinging. The spiked ball begins striking the monsters around me and I hit the giant crab-like-thing with my sword and when it tumbles over, I jump onto the back and shoot it with the gun nozzle and then I jump off when it explodes, sending me to a human-shaped one, which I stabbed in the bulls-eye.

Next thing I know, there's a pink-haired elf falling in front of me. I get into a stance.

"Who are you?" May questions.

"It's me Aelita" the elf said.

"What are you doing here?" May asks.

"The better question is what are you doing here May, and who is this"

"This is Max"

"What about Geo?"

"He's a little preoccupied at the moment"

She rolls her eyes before she runs towards the large building I saw earlier.

"What's she doing?" I ask May.

"I don't know this is the first time I've seen her do this"

She enters and the next thing I know I'm back at the dance.

I have no idea what just happened but I quickly find Geo and May.

"Um, what the heck just happened?" I ask. "May, why'd you take him to Lyoko?" Geo asks the girl in surprise. "It seemed l-like a g-good idea at the time" She admitted. "Well what do we do now" he asks her. "C-can we trust you to k-keep a s-secret?" She asks me. "Yeah sure whatever" I reply to May's question.

"Good, well right now is just before the monster appears, but it's not, so now I'm going to go sing to clear my mind" Geo says, climbing up onto the stage.

I raise an eyebrow. "D-don't a-ask" May stutters.

Geo picks up the mike and begins singing.
