Level Twenty One: Restart
Onsen Resort - April 30th 9am
Kazuto and Akemi were awake and eating breakfast when they heard someone knock on the door. "Ake-chiiii~ Open the door~" the girl's eyes went wide and she immediately got up to open the door. There stood three people, two with pale brown hair and the third with blonde hair. "Ake-chiiiiiii~!" she blonde jumped and glomped Akemi, nearly knocking her over.
"H-huh?! M-mikan?!" she exclaimed. "What the heck, what are you doing here?"
"Ake-nee~" The girl with brown hair hugged onto her too, the boy standing there with a smile.
"Hiwa, what the hell?! Oi, Taku, get them off!" she stated.
"What's going on?" Kazuto asked, tilting his head at the scene but not minding since Akemi's robe was slipping a little off her shoulder.
"Ah, it's the Black Swordsman~" Hiwa smiled. "Hi there~"
"Oi oi, Hiwa…" the boy stated, sighing.
"Ooh, so THAT'S the infamous black swordsman? Cutie~" the blonde grinned. "Ake-chi is most definitely the shota-con I expected~"
"Can you NOT, please?!" Akemi exclaimed, pushing both girls off and fixing her robe. "For goodness sake, what ARE you three doing here?"
After a long conversation and explanation, Kazuto stared in fascination. In this room sat Hiwa and Takuto Kirisawa, also known as White Fox from Ryuuko and Noir from Rise of the Autumn Moon, and Akemi's former classmate and Upperclassman. Then ontop of that, there was Mikan Kagunomiya, aka Aria the professional gamer who was currently acting as a mod for Rise of the Autumn Moon. Mikan was close friends with Takuto growing up, and since Hiwa was Takuto's sister, Mikan proclaimed that Akemi would be her little sister. Even as a pro gamer, Mikan still insisted on Akemi being her little sister figure and used Ake-chi as a term of endearment. "So you know them in person? That's impressive…" Kazuto said to Akemi, who looked drained from all that explaining.
"It's a pain in the butt if you ask me." She sighed. "At least in person meetings are… in game she's fine when I run into her, but in person she's a nightmare."
"I am not." Mikan pouted. "I'm a good big sister, aren't I? I mean not as good as you are to your brother but still!"
"Yes yes." Akemi sighed, pouring tea for their guests. "But what the hell are you all doing here, seriously?" she asked. "No way you three came here for fun." The room fell silent and things got very serious. Takuto looked to Mikan, who nodded.
"There's something we need you two to check for us." Takuto stated, taking out a paper. "See, my friend's a member of the group who investigated the incident in Ryuuko… he said that something questionable is going on in another game, but we need two people to go in that aren't on the radar to check it out."
"And you three are major players on that radar, right?" Akemi asked.
"Right…" Takuto nodded. "Since you two aren't as noticeable…"
"We're only not noticeable cause I used a super generic name and Kazuto didn't accept publicity." She stated. She turned to Kazuto and looked at him. "Do you wanna help?"
"… What's in it for us if we do help?" he asked.
"Well, for starters, you'd be given special access to AGSO and be connected to a government server that would allow you even better game play than the most expensive system out there." Hiwa stated. "And even better, you'll get to play in a game that accommodates pros too, so you'll have an awesome challenge~"
"But there's a catch." Takuto stated. "There's a chance that what's happening could be deadly, just like what happened in Ryuuko." Akemi and Kazuto looked shocked, but they seemed to be genuinely thinking this over.
"I don't want to put you in danger, Akemi."
"Well I should be saying the same thing." She stated, turning to him. "These are my friends, they brought the problem to me…" she added. "If one of us does this, we both do." She said adamantly, Kazuto looking up at her and nodding his head. It was decided. They would enter the new death game together.
Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture – May 9th, 2025
A few days after returning back to their normal everyday lives, Kazuto and Akemi were at a hospital where they were going to get introduced to the new game and the system they would be operating on while in the new game, and be debriefed about how the game worked and whatnot. They walked into the hospital room where a nurse was sitting in a chair, and a man with glasses was waiting. "Welcome you two." The man stated with a smile. "I apologize for the sudden introduction, my name is-"
"Kikuoka, Seijirou-san. Takuto already mentioned your name." Akemi stated in a business-like manner. "And your nurse friend is Aki Natsuki. Mikan introduced her as a woman who is very capable." She bowed her head. "Its nice to meet you both."
"Ahh, just as formal as you were described." Seijirou stated, smiling a little. "Shall we get started then, seeing as we're all here? Do you two need anything? I can go run down to the bakery while Aki introduces you to the medical side of this ordeal." He handed them a menu, and Kazuto immediately ordered 3 or 4 things, as did Akemi. Seijirou went to get the bakery goods as Aki began explaining how this system would work and what it would entail. All the while Kazuto and Akemi listened attentively, Akemi stepping between her boyfriend and the nurse whenever she got too close to him, looking slightly annoyed with the older woman. Kazuto would just take her hand and calm her down when her glaring got to be a little too intense.
"Alright, that's everything." Aki stated, smiling. "I'll leave you two here until Kikuoka-san comes back~ Behave now you two lovebirds~" she chuckled before leaving the room, and Akemi immediately latching onto Kazuto.
"What's wrong?" he asked, seeing as Akemi seemed rather upset.
"I don't like it when she pokes fun at us for being a couple." She mumbled, hiding her face against Kazuto's chest. He sighed, petting her head and telling her it was fine and that she was over thinking it. He didn't mind her clinging like this, but it was unusual to see her jealous about something so simple.
"… Did something happen?" he questioned, sensing that something else entirely was bothering Akemi. But she shook her head and let go as soon as Kikuoka came back with their orders and began debriefing the two on the situation in its entirety, as well as explaining what he wanted them to do in the game. After a long while and the pair having finished their food, they agreed to meet the following week and start their expedition into AGSO and find out what was causing such a problem.
Akemi's House - Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture
The pair arrived back at Akemi's apartment with no sign of her brother except his shoes at the door. But his door was closed so she assumed he was asleep already. She wandered into the kitchen and began making dinner, feeling like she should be doing more than just accepting returning to another death game. Mostly she was doing this because Mikan and Takuto came to ask… but she was still worried. But as Kazuto's arms wrapped around her she snapped out of her thoughts. "You're worrying?"
"As are you." She stated, sighing a little. "Are we really doing this?"
"We kind of agreed already." He nuzzled against her back, but he sounded a little worried. "Do you want to back out?"
"No way." She replied, turning to look at him. "… We're going in together…" she smiled and leaned over, nuzzling against his cheek before getting back to cooking. "Now come on, let's get dinner done. We can talk about this over food."
"… okay." He nodded, beginning to assist her by setting the table for her. Makoto soon emerged from his room and looked happy to see his sister back, and more accurately happy to not have to eat instant or take out again. The three sat down as the conversation turned heavy and Makoto was brought into the loop of the death game, something seeming to bother him for a moment. Not like it was to be unexpected with his sister saying she'd be willingly stepping into a dangerous situation, but… it seemed to bother him on a different level than just that. But neither Akemi or Kazuto asked, they just ate in peace and tried to keep things calm.
Welcome to AGSO: Agate – Gun Slinger Online
Here is the new and improved version of GSO, a game that was once not so great has now become a big hit on the internet! AGSO has opened its doors to everyone around the world and is a game that even hosts pro players with a simple player classification system that everyone can use and delve into.
The main goal of the game is to attain the highest scores, get the best times, or to be the number one in the ranking tournament that is held every 3 months. Aside from that this game is comprised of an enormous city that allows for interaction, practice, and anything else you might want to do in an MMO. AGSO also contains gateways to mini worlds created by other games so you can get a taste of other types of MMOs that aren't just gun based!
Ontop of that, there are 3 Elements to a player you'll want to look at.
Ranges:
-Long- Long range players operate with larger guns with either limited ammunition that takes a long time to reload, or with stealth that is revealed once they make a shot.
-Short- Short range players operate with smaller guns and can reload faster, but are susceptible to attack, since they themselves have to get in closer to make an accurate shot.
Types:
-Accuracy- Base type, focuses on the accuracy of shooting. Advance type allows for super accurate shots at almost any range.
-Speed-Base type, focuses on the speed at which a character moves. Advance type allows for the ability to dodge bullets at almost any range.
-Ricochet- Base type, focuses on the ability for a player to perform a ricochet. Advance type allows for the ability to create multiple ricochets.
-Power-Base type, focuses on the power of a single shot. Advance type allows for a single bullet to do much more damage than its stats say it can.
-Stealth- Base type, focuses on the stealth of the player. Advance type allows for a character to sneak up on others and take them out quietly in most cases.
-All Rounder- Only achieved by Humans; Can attain equal levels of every type of shooting stat.
Boosts:
-Accuracy- Boosts accuracy chances when trained up.
-Ricochet- Boost ricochet chances when trained up.
-Power- Boosts power chances when trained up.
-Stealth- Boosts stealth chances when trained up.
-Speed- Boosts dodging chances when trained up.
Then there are 4 species here in AGSO, which each have their own types of starting stats and abilities that other groups do not normally have:
Human: The only class that can attain all rounder status, this class has the weakest speed stats but second highest mental stats. Strongest shooter stat.
Kemonomimi: This class specializes in accuracy and stealth, but is weak to ricochet types for the most part. Weakest shooter and second strongest physical stat. Strongest speed stat.
Demon: This class specializes in speed and ricochet, but is weak to power types for the most part. Weakest physical stat and second strongest speed stat. Strongest mental stat.
Experiment/Cyborg: This class specializes in power and durability, but is weak to accuracy and stealth shots for the most part. Weakest mental stat and second strongest shooter stat. Strongest physical stat.

In Game Appearance: Black, mid-back length hair with bangs that cover her right eye. Eyes are golden, skin is fair, figure is busty but slim. Black fox ears and tail. Wears black high-neck tank top and shorts. Belts are black with silver trim. Boots are at knee-height, socks at mid-thigh. Wears black fingerless gloves and black jacket lines with light brown fur and a silver armored bust plate.

I just finished with finals and I'm hoping I'm able to write more this vacation.
As a side note for those of you who read down this far, I'm holding a little bit of a contest for a guest character! I need two characters, one male and one female, to be part of Akemi's gamer connection circle! They will be featured in the next 2 arcs of the story!
