A/N: It's been a long time since I've updated this one! I hope it's worth the wait for you lovely lovely people. I'm sorry for the false advertisement of "use of alcohol" where there clearly wasn't. In this chapter there will be use of Alcohol and the bad side of Pru. These sophomores are heading to a college party, oh what am I getting these two into? *hides face in shame*

Being with you, my natural high,

Still got every single butterfly.

Just what they all wish that they had,

So intense, it's driving me mad.

So into you now.

Said I want you for a million days,

You say you want the same with me.

With love for real without the lies.

Is that what they call paradise?

All of you wanna be in it.

Paradise.

-Tove Lo, "Paradise."

Calm.

Prudence Jewel was extremely calm as she sat in her attic bedroom staring at her reflection in the mirror. She ignored her aunt and Uncle when she arrived home after her detention with Mr. Feeny. She did not even come down to dinner. By using the ten bucks she didn't spend on lunch, she brought herself and Shawn something to eat before heading their separate ways. Pru arrived to the Lawerence's a few minutes before six, they had dinner at six-thirty and Topanga entered Pru's bedroom with the notes she said she could copy. It was awkward for Topanga to just continue sitting in her best friend's room and not talk to her. Pru was sorta over the whole mad at Topanga thing, she let it go but she loved to see her squirm just a little.

Half way through copying the notes, Pru decided to tell Topanga that she had another panic attack after being told off by her parents. Topanga immediately feel bad that she did not notice that Pru needed her but of course Pru brushed it off replying that Hunter helped her through it, again. Pru would not tell Topanga about where she was venturing off to because A) she did not want her dear cousin to rat her out B) Topanga would lecture her C) Topanga would probably want to come with her and D) she would find any way to get her from not attending this college party. So telling Topanga was defiantly out, she made sure that Shawn promised not to tell Cory anything about this. Those two couldn't hide anything from each other, they talked too much but that was just Cory and Shawn for you. Around seven-thirty Pru lied and told Topanga that she was pretty tired after a long day. Topanga admitted that she was thrilled that Pru was not upset with her tomorrow and that they could find something fun to do this weekend since Pru was "grounded."

Locking her bedroom door, she stripped her clothes and quickly climbed into the shower. When she was finished she wrapped a towel around her bare body and went over to her rack that was stored away in the corner. Her fingers grasped onto a black velvet off the shoulders top and her favorite pair of ripped jeans that hugged her waist perfectly. She slipped into the shirt and jeans, tugged on a pair of shiny black boots, and stared back at herself in the mirror. She looked like a sophomore in high school, she needed something that made her look older. Fiddling around she shoved sliver rings on both of her hands and grabbed a plum color lipstick she found shoved in her wooden desk drawer. Her mother brought this for her one time, she showed her how lipstick basically was a threat and gave you confidence. Not that Pru needed it, but she wanted to look dangerous and that was the goal without trying too hard.

Applying the plum colored lipstick to her plump lips, she mushed them together and stood back staring at herself. It defiantly made her look older than sixteen, possibly eighteen. She would be a nineteen when she starts college (if she decides to go) since she has an older birthday. She tugged onto her wet hair knowing that it needed to be cut soon, grabbing a brush she brushed her hair out making it look more manageable. Barely getting a sigh out she heard the small sound of rocks hitting her window. Pru grabbed some pillows turning them the long way and shoved them under the sheets to make it seem like she was sleeping. Her bedroom door was still locked, she checked before unlocking the window, pushing it outwards as she climbed through it and stood on the roof. Pru peered down seeing Shawn staring up at her waiting. It was kind of a far jump, but this was not the first time she's jumped off a roof before. Making sure to leave a opening for her attic bedroom, she slid down towards the edge of the roof peering down at the ground once more.

Shawn placed his hands around his mouth, "Rapunzel, Rapunzel let down your hair."

With an annoyed glance Pru whisper/ yelled down at Shawn, "Shut up, you idiot! Everyone's probably still up in the living room, watching some house renovation show."

Shawn chuckled and stepped back giving Pru some space.

Resting her legs over the edge she swiftly jumped down into the grass, ignoring the stinging in her legs she pushed herself up flicking her hair out of her face. Now, standing up straight she eyed Shawn. He had a black leather jacket on, jeans, a white shirt underneath the jacket and gold chain wrapped around his neck. He looked decent.

"What is this too much for a college party?" Shawn asked standing underneath the tree.

Pru stood in front of Shawn, eye to eye. Shawn waited expectantly to see what she would do next, he was hoping she would do what he wanted her to. Her fingers wrapped around the collars of his jacket and tugged them upwards, "Now you look ready."

Shawn stared at her for a second, she looked great…like she always did. There was one thing that was bothering him though, he reached his fingers up to press against her lips. Visibility tensing from his touch, Shawn stated, "Lipstick? That's new…I don't like it."

Scoffing Pru pushed herself away, "Okay? By telling me this doesn't define me."

Walking off the front yard she lead the way down the street with Shawn right next to her. It was silent before Shawn spoke up again, "I didn't say that to hurt your feelings or anything…I didn't say it to define you either. Let me just be completely honest with you, I don't like when girls wear all that stuff on their faces. You for one, always look better the way you always do…natural."

The night breeze pushed Pru's dark hair off her shoulders, allowing the street lights to shine over her collarbones. She didn't know why she was getting so defensive with Shawn or why she cared what he thought, he was just her friend. Pru looked over at him as they continued walking down the sidewalk, "I guess I'm still sorta pissed at my aunt and Uncle so I'm taking it out on you. I'm only wearing this crap to look older and dangerous, I'm not changing myself so there's no need to worry."

Shawn just nodded his head knowing that there would be no apologizes. Philadelphia looked so much different at night, much quicker and peaceful. That's why the two liked being out at night most of the time because believe it or not, there was so much more to see.

"So, what's the plan?" Shawn asked his longtime friend as they crossed the street.

"We'll catch the bus which will take us downtown, then we'll cross over the bridge, the kid on the bus said it would be on private property near this abandoned house or something. It was about two miles up the road, once you get to the woods we should see it." Pru answered as they picked up the pace seeing a bus coming down the street.

They stood in silence for a few seconds waiting for the city bus to come through the light. Standing for a few seconds the bus started heading towards the two, Pru looked over at Shawn who was chewing on his nails. She pulled his hand from his lips but not without staring at them for a quick second, "Stop doing that. Are you nervous, Hunter? Please don't tell me, you out of all people are nervous."

Frowning Shawn licked his lips, "No. I'm not nervous, I crashed plenty of parties before with previous girls that I've dated. They always had other siblings and we snuck into the senior parties, you know Paula Balboa? Yeah her older sister's boyfriend threw one a few days ago…but we ended up getting thrown out after getting caught making out by the pool."

Holding her hand out to silence the boy she muttered, "I didn't need to know about all of that."

The bus stopped in front of the two leaving Shawn smirking, "Aw, Don't be jealous. There's room for you too."

Pru rolled her eyes at him from over her shoulders and stepped onto the bus dropping enough money into the slot for the both of them. The two moved to the back of the bus sitting next to each other, Pru got the window seat while Shawn was still smirking at her.

"I can care less about who you make-out with okay, Hunter? This is far from jealousy, this look on my face is disgust. I have a pig for a friend." Pru described for turning to look out the window.

Shawn laughed, he was not offended. He only dated girls for two weeks, he shared a kiss with Pru and now she was mad at him all of sudden?

"You weren't calling me a pig when we kissed," Shawn said in a sing-song tone.

Pru's glare was dark while she glanced over at her irritating friend, "Keep bringing that up, and I'll hit you in the throat."

"That's not very nice, you shouldn't talk to your date like that Jewlz," Shawn said holding his hands up in surrender but not without a smile on his face.

Pru wanted so badly to hit him, she didn't want this to be a date. She wanted this to be two friends just hanging out and doing bad things just they wanted to. Also because she wanted to get back at her Aunt and Uncle, but she was planning on getting back home by midnight. It was only eight-forty, she knew that they would check up on her so she left a note underneath the door basically telling them to leave her alone.

Growling she grabbed onto Shawn's jacket pulling him towards her, "This. Is. Not. A. Date."

She felt something weird swirling around in her chest while being this close to this boy. Shawn's breathing hitched as he stared at her teal eyes with dashed of yellow and green in them, his eyes fell to her painted lips and stayed that way for a while. If he kissed her, there would be no doubt in his mind that she would hit him.

"If this is not a date, then why is your heart going crazy."

He got her there, and she remained silent her wide eyes turning into slits quickly. Shawn poked his tongue against his cheek and flicked his hair out of his face, "If this is not a date, then I'll get off back here and head back to the trailers, catch my much needed sleep."

The pre-teen started to move from her grip but she held on tighter, she sighed throwing her head down. He breathed in her scent radiating from her hair, her lips tasted like apple pie and oranges but her hair…her hair smelled like lavender, sage, and sunshine…which was really weird. Pru didn't want to go to this party alone, she could if she wanted to but she wanted to spend some time with Shawn believe it or not.

Slowly she brought her head up from staring down her lap and pressed her forehead against Shawn's, "Stay," She whispered looking into his eyes blue green eyes. He didn't know what was in her eyes but whatever it was had him hooked.

Swallowing Pru removed her forehead from his, "I'm not calling this a date because I don't do dates, I'll call it hangin' out you call it a date and we're cool."

Shawn licked his lips trying to figure out what just happened. He gave her a crooked smile, "Fine…I get it. Plus I don't really do relationships…if I kissed you tonight you'll probably hit me in my throat." He laughed.

Pru didn't know why she felt a quick prick in her chest when he said he didn't do relationships. Of course she knew that! Why did she think otherwise? Why was she even thinking about this? She was staring at Shawn before balling her feet up into the chair and staring out the window.

Clearing her throat she said, "We should be downtown in two minutes or so. By the way did you tell Cory about this?"

Shawn visibly gulped causing Pru to slap his arm hard, "Ow! You know this aggressive thing is kind of cute, but man can you hit!"

Pru groaned running her hands through her hair, "You better hope Cory doesn't flap his gums about this to Pangz or anyone else or I'll make him bald!"

Shawn snickered, "He promised he wouldn't say anything, he's just happy that we're hanging out again."

Giving a weird look Pru questioned, "Why?"

Shawn shrugged his shoulders looking down at his lap before glancing back at Pru, "Because he believes there'll be a us soon. Crazy idea right, you don't like me and I- well you're one of my best friend who's really pretty and has soft lips…"

Pru placed her hands over her ears shaking her head, "Enough with this gussy stuff I can't take it, Hunter! We're never gonna date, got it!?"

Shawn felt disappointment as Pru yelled at him, "And why not? What you don't like me or somethin'?"

Pru growled once more, "Hunter, why are we talking about this?! We're supposed to be happy about attending a party, not discussing our feelings and all that crap! What's up with you, we hardly talk about our feelings unless its' serious."

Shawn was getting angry, he felt all those feelings return to the surface but if she didn't want him then he would push them down. If she just wanted to remain friends, which it seemed like she did then they would…even if he didn't like it. It was so strange, Pru was the only girl that made him feel something…whatever it was was terrifying for the both of them.

The two remained silent for a while, both not knowing what to say. Pru was walking fast paced while Shawn was walking behind her staring at her from behind. They made it through downtown seeing other high schoolers heading to the movies or eating at some diner nearby. Soon they passed a bridge, Pru was smoking the whole way she picked up a cigarette from one of the teens they passed by. Shawn didn't know if it was the anxiety from their argument or was she starting to get nervous for the party. She tossed the stick over into the water from underneath the bridge and continued walking. They both saw the woods which you ran straight into after the bridge, Shawn said nothing following after Pru. She continued heading straight until she saw a dirt road, she stopped noticing that it was dark and that anything could be in those woods.

"You think the party is down there?" Shawn asked quietly.

Pru nodded, "Yes. I can feel it and I can hear the music, come on…we're late."

Shawn and Pru made their way down the dirt path it felt like they could be swallowed up at any time since the trees were so tall. They walked side by side now ignoring the urge to look behind and on the side of them as they moved. Soon, Shawn shoved a branch out the way hearing the music become louder. He held the branch back holding it open for Pru to go through first. She stepped into the huge field seeing a bunch of college students dancing around, some chatting, and some making out. Not too far from the field was the abandoned house, it looked like crap on the outside but from the looks of it the party continued inside. There were lights illuminating the house, giving a small smile Pru shrugged the uneasiness from her body and headed over to a cooler.

Her hands moved around the cold ice and pulled out a beer, she cracked open the can and took a huge swallow. She needed to forget, she needed to be alive. She moved back over to Shawn who was waiting for her.

Licking the tart and refreshing taste of beer she held it out towards Shawn, "Want a sip?"

Shawn stared at the can and shook his head, "Maybe later."

Pru shrugged her shoulders and titled her head back taking another gulp. Everything was catching up with her, she thought of her parents, she thought of her anxiety attacks, she thought about Shawn. She needed her mind to be empty this drink was doing the trick. She crunched the can and tossed it on the ground. Pru tasted alcohol before, just sips of her mom and dad's things. When she hung out with the twins and the rest of the cool kids, they all took turns at different parties sneaking down to get a cup filled with whatever alcohol they had at the time. She didn't really care for it just like she didn't care for smoking but she did it to forget, if she could do that for just a little while then maybe everything would be better.

Loosening up Pru moved herself into the college dancing students and started to dance herself. Shawn kept an eye on her as he watched different girls who eyed him, some waved which was a shock. A red head with blue grey eyes made her way over to Shawn.

"Hi, I'm Gia." She introduced herself.

Shawn broke his eyes from Pru, "Shawn."

Gia smiled and followed Shawn's eyes, "That your girlfriend?"

Shawn didn't know how to answer, of course she wasn't but somehow he wanted her to be.

"Uh…no, no. We're just friends, and being the good friend that I am, I'm keeping my eye on her."

Gia nodded, "You seem nice enough. What's her damage?"

And for the first time Shawn Hunter broke his gaze from Pru's dancing form; made his eyes meet Gia's.

Two hours ticked by, the party was heating up. Shawn and Gia were now holding a great conversation, even though there was a hint of flirting from Gia he only flirted back as friendly as he could. He would defiantly tell Cory about how he got a hot college freshman to flirt with him, he knew he was a good looking kid but he did not know how he was pulling this off…and not once did this girl ask about his age.

"So what are you majoring in?" Gia asked after laughing from a story Shawn previously told her about Cory.

Shawn frowned, "Um…I'm undecided?"

Gia nodded which was a good sign on Shawn's part, "Yeah it's totally understandable being a freshman and all. I'm going to be Lawyer just like my daddy wants me to."

"You don't have to be what your parents you to be," Shawn said seriously.

Gia smiled, "I know…my friends tell me that but I don't want to be disappoint my parents. No kid does."

Shawn understood, sometimes he felt like he disappointed his father, mother and maybe that's the reason they both left him. Abandoned he's been staying in the trailer by himself, but not for too long since he doesn't like to feel lonely. Before Shawn could spark up a conversation with gorgeous Gia he sees two familiar people behind Gia. With wide eyes Shawn looks at Gia, "Hey, Gia! Would you mind getting me a beer?"

Gia gave him a lazy smile, she was defiantly getting close to getting drunk. Leaving him by himself Shawn looks around for Pru but he doesn't see her right away. Panicking he spins around looking around some more to see her head tipping back as she downs another beer while walking towards the abandoned house with some guy and chick. Shawn molds his lips together before moving out of the familiar figure's sight. He moves through moving bodies quickly getting through the crowd to see Pru move inside of the flashing house.

"Hunter? Is that you?" The person asks.

Sighing Shawn looks over at his best friend's brother, "Eric! Surprised to see you here!"

Eric's not buying it, "What are you doing here? Are you here with my kid brother? I seriously hope not."

Shawn snickers, "Cory wouldn't be able to survive at this party and you know it."

Eric chuckles back, "Ah, you're right! But that is besides the point, if you're here then who else is here with you?"

Eric's best friend, Jason is now standing beside Eric.

Shawn scratched his head, "Pru."

Jason raises his eyebrows, "Pru as in Pru Jewel?"

"Topanga's cousin? Sheesh, I hate to be a party pooper but you two can't be here." Eric says.

"Aw come on Eric! We were just having some fun." Shawn persuades.

"Fun? I saw you talking to the cute little red head, you didn't drink anything did you? Not that I care or anything." Eric states starting off caring to uncaring.

"No…but Pru has. We were just about to leave…" Shawn admits.

Eric and Jason were seniors so they were more allowed to be at this party, but then again not really. Eric looks around at the scene once more satisfied that he got three chick numbers, more than Jason did so he was happy as can be.

"Well where is she? We'll take you guys home." Eric decides looking around for the dark haired sixteen year old.

At that moment when things started to get a bit better, they got worse. A sound of sirens went off causing all music to get turned off, people dropped everything and started racing to their cars. With wide eyes Shawn looked over at Jason and Eric, "Pru's in the house."

"Jesus Shawn, you couldn't have said that earlier?" Eric yells exasperated and throws the keys at Jason, "Get the car, if we're not out in two minutes take the car back to the house. My parents can't know that I took the car without them knowing."

So Shawn and Pru weren't the only ones being sneaky. Jason ran off towards the back of the woods as Eric slapped a hand on Shawn's shoulder and they ran over towards the house. People were still partying inside, most of them making out. This house was a maze, Eric pursed his lips, "Okay, Hunter. We have one minute to get back to get each other, find Pru and meet towards the back of the house."

Shawn nodded his head and took to the left while Eric went to the right; up the steps. Shawn ran through the crowd his eyes searching for his dark haired friend through the red lights. He hope she wasn't hurt, that didn't even cross his mind as she was walking with two complete strangers. Now, he was not going to lie this set him off a little bit but he knew he had to focus. He's been in trouble with the law before and he did not want to go back there. After looking for what felt like an hour he finds her and what looks like to be a kitchen if there were people actually living in the house. He quickly moves over to her grabbing onto her hand he pulls her away from the two couple she was blabbing two and tells them that the cops are outside. Pru stumbles but continues following Shawn questioning him over the loud music. She feels alive and she never wants to go back to who she is. She's squealing and she looks so happy as she holds onto his hand.

Shawn grabs onto Pru's face as they stand in front of the door that leads to the back of the house. "Pru, Pru listen to me. There are cops outside and we need to get home before we end in jail. I need you to focus for me."

Pru nods her head almost as if she has no control for the weight. He knew he should of stopped her after one drink, and she's had a few he could smell it. She seems to understand as he pulls her through the door towards the back. The street is empty, no car no sign of Eric or Jason.

"Hey, you two stop right there!" A cop yells.

Shawn tightens his hold on Pru, and even through her drunken state she gets butterflies tapping in her belly.

"Hi, Mr. Policeman!" Pru waves happily.

"We need to run, Pru! Run!" Shawn yells tugging her hand in the opposite direction.

"Bye Mr. Cop!" Pru squeals running behind Shawn her hand holding onto the back of his jacket.

The two race through the woods as fast as they could, they could see the cop slowly down but he kept up. Pru stumbles causing Shawn to slow down and try to help her up, "Jewlz, come on! If you don't get up the bad man is gonna get us," He says as if he's talking to a child.

Pru whines, "I'm tired, Shawnie! Can we take a nap together, please?"

Shawn sees the cop running up the hill towards them, "Yes…as soon as we get away from the cop."

Pru pouts getting up slowly, Shawn wants to curse but he swiftly picks Pru up holding her over his shoulder. He doesn't adjust to weight and ignores her laughter as he runs as fast as he possibly can towards downtown. He runs but stops at an alley and places Pru down against the wall. He leans against the wall peeking out to see if the cop has followed them, he peeks back at Pru to see if she's sleeping. Her head is turned away from him but she answers him and turns her head back to him her hands grabbing onto his wrist, "Shawnie! Can we sleep now?"

Shushing her Shawn puts his hand over her mouth to see the cop passing by while talking into his walkie talkie. He continues walking down the sidewalk in search of the two. Where was Eric? Did he really leave them? After the close is clear Shawn bends down to Pru's resting body, he holds her hands and helps her stand. She looked cute even drunk, although she'll probably hate herself in the morning. He wraps a hand around her waist to keep her steady as they walk down the side walk at ease.

That comes to a stop as a voice yells, "Hold it right there!"

Sighing Shawn drops his head down in defeat. Pru who wobbly lifts her head through her blurry vision she smiles, "H-H-Hello, Mr. Police man!"

Then she throws up, all over his shoes.

A/N: That's all for now! I hope this turned out at least decent? I'm kinda ify on it. What are your thoughts? Where did Eric go?! What's going to happen to Shawn and Pru now? Until Next time!

P.S. NO I do not condone alcohol for my character Pru and she will not have a problem with this in later chapters, I promise.
