A/N: Hey guys! How's it going? It's officially Winter Break for me so now I can waste all of my time watching so many series online and of course writing for you guys! I'm excited for this chapter for some reason...are you? *Evil Smirks*

You were supposed to make it easy, we were supposed to be a team.

We were supposed to live some kind of dream, but in the scheme of things you only wanna scheme.

Are you some kind of creep? Words are cheap.

When nothing works, when nothing works for me...

You make it hurt,

You make it worse for me.

And I let myself down,

You make it worse,

You make it worse for me.

-Raleigh Ritchie,"You Make It Worse"

Two weeks had passed since Pru last seen Shawn. She tried not to worry about it but somewhere in the darkness of her mind she did. She felt lonelier than before but she tried not to let it show. Pru was attached to Shawn but she would never admit it out loud. Whenever she saw Cory in the hallways it was either with her cousin by his side or him bothering Mr. Feeny about something. That was also strange because Shawn and Cory were attached at the hip. On the brighter side the old principal decided that he would be someone's else pain in the butt, meaning that he was moving to Maine and took the position as someone else's principal. Pru almost threw a party when she saw the man giving a small speech in the middle of the hallway with his things in his hand. That didn't stop the nasty glare the older man gave to Pru and wished Mr. Feeny good luck with her along with other trouble making students. She also joined in on Eric's chanting of, "Feeny! Feeny! Feeny!" Only a few kids joined in but the rest went off to their lockers not caring one bit.

Pru returned to her locker on her own figuring out what books she needed for the next few classes of the day. She flipped through her English textbook and sighed realizing that she did the wrong homework assignment for class. She leaned sideways against the set of lockers that were beside hers and suddenly looked up and over to her right to see Shawn walking down the steps with some girl beside him. With slits in Pru's eyes she watched as Shawn threw his arm over the small girl's shoulders and grinned down at her. The girls hair was a mixture of blonde and light brown, her eyes were light brown, small nose, heart shaped face, peach skin, and her clothes were awfully bright. Pru's frown turned darker as the girl looked up at Shawn and placed a kiss on his cheek before pulling away from him. Pru watched as the girl grabbed onto Shawn's hand pulling him towards her locker.

"Why are you starin' at Shawn Hunter like that?" A familiar voice asked.

Pru turned her attention to a girl that stood a inch shorter than her, dark black hair tied back in a hot pink fuzzy scrunchie, small dingily earrings, and a leopard print jacket.

Pru rolled her eyes, "Trini...mind it."

Trini just smiled and chomped on her gum as Pru slammed her locker shut turning her stare back to Shawn who stood pretty dang close to that cute girly girl. Trini leaned her elbow on Pru's shoulder sighing, "I guess the rumors are true about you two."

Pru frowned at that, she didn't know that there were rumors going around about her and Shawn. If someone had her name in their mouth she wanted to know so she could punch their lights out.

"What are you talking about? 'Cause I hardly ever know what you're talking about."

Trini just laughed at the tall freckle faced girl in front of her, "Oh, c'mon! Don't tell me that you weren't aware that you and Shawn were dating, but he went to Europe came back a changed boy looking for something different."

Pru felt her blood starting to boil. That was just ridiculous. Europe? Dating? Pru didn't do boyfriends.

Trini watched Pru's facial expression noticing the way her left eyebrow curved, how her nostrils flared, but her face remained blank. Trini molded her mouth into an 'O' shape and spoke in her usual quirky tone, "Ohhhh...unless you didn't know that Shawn moved on."

Pru cocked her head to the side keeping her eyes trained on Shawn and the girl speaking very calmly to Trini, "I was not aware that Shawn and I were dating. Which we're not so I'm gonna ask you to do three things for me."

Trini nodded enthusiastically, "Sure!"

"One...remove your elbow from my shoulder before I do it myself. Two...Stop chewing that gum like a cow. Three...tell me who started spreading that stupid rumor."

In order for Trini to tell Pru she had to promise the quirky girl for a sleepover at her house along with Pangz. Pru didn't hate Trini, of course the girl was a little strange but she didn't annoy Pru to the point where she wanted to crack her skull or anything. Plus Trini didn't have many friends besides Topanga and Pru didn't have that many friends so she allowed the girl to talk to her from time to time. Pru left Trini saying she'll see her in Feeny's class since the man did not find a replacement for history he still taught the class. Pru stood behind Shawn and the girly girl who's lips were hugging, waiting for her presence to be known. Shawn immediately opened his eyes feeling Pru's intense glare on his face, he pulled his lips back his eyes a bit wide as Pru gave him a crooked smile.

"Hello Shawn...and girl you were kissing."

The girl jumped turning her back to Shawn to get a good look at Pru, she had to lean back almost as if she feared Pru.

"Um...hi?" The girl's mousy voice spoke.

Pru analyzed the girl not letting her eyes leave hers, "I don't believe we've met. I'm Pru Jewel...Shawn's best friend."

Shawn scratched the back of his neck knowing this would not be a good conversation. The girl looked back at Shawn and smiled at Pru, "I'm Juliana...Shawn's girlfriend. Nice to meet you."

Pru nodded, "Sure. How long have you guys been dating? I haven't spoke or seen Shawn in about two weeks so it'd be good to catch up before we all go to class right?"

Juliana nodded pushing her hair out of her face, "Yeah. We really just started dating, tomorrow would be two weeks. Any friend of Shawn's is a friend of mine."

Pru gave her a fake smile glancing at Shawn, "Aw...she's cute and nice. I like this one, Hunter."

Shawn swallowed and quickly placed a hand on the back of Juliana's shoulder, "Julez...would you mind leaving Pru and I alone for a little awhile? We have to talk."

Juliana nodded closing her locker, Pru waved at her as the girl bid her goodbyes to the two friends.

"See ya later Julez!" Pru called to the girl who waved back at her from over her shoulder.

Pru dropped her fake smile as soon as she turned to stare back at Shawn who pushed his hands into his jean pockets.

"So you're mad," Shawn started as he slowly peeked up to glance at Pru's no longer bright bluish green with a dash of yellow eyes.

Pru took a deep breath trying to stop the anger that pulsed through her veins. She hardly ever got mad at Shawn, but this time it was different. Something changed her view on Shawn and it all had to do with two weeks ago.

Shawn reached out to touch Pru's hair, "You cut your hair...I like it."

Pru snapped her eyes open, her eyes were a dark teal like they usually were when she was upset.

"Are you serious right now?" Pru growled in syncopated whisper.

Shawn pulled his hands out from his pockets, "What do you want to me say?"

Pru shoved Shawn backwards but he caught himself in time, "I haven't seen you in nearly two weeks and all you have to say is...'You cut your hair?'"

"I'm sorry but you the one who told me that I should leave...so I did."

Pru shook her head at her friend, "Yes I did tell you to leave, to figure yourself out...but you thought it was okay walk around this school with her on your arm?" She pointed in the direction where Juliana went.

Shawn frowned, "I don't see the big deal."

Pru took another deep breath as she stepped back from Shawn, "What you're telling me is that night when we were outside of Cory's house meant nothing to you?"

"Of course it did...why wouldn't it-"

"You have a funny way of showing it!" Pru yelled not caring that some people were watching them.

Shawn looked around not liking that the drama on him this time. He reached out to grab Pru's wrist but she shrugged him off.

"Pru I-"

"You what?!" Pru snapped.

Shawn sighed and glanced at her pink plump lips, he hesitated. Fighting with himself if he should place his lips on hers or not, it was now or never. Shawn grabbed onto her cheeks and placed his lips on hers. He waited for this moment since kindergarten, out of all of the girls that Shawn's kiss before he's never felt like this. His heart fought against his rib-cage almost overwhelming, Pru on the other hand felt her eyes close as soon as his lips touched hers. Did it actually make her sound like a true girl when she thought about what their first kiss would be like? Or how she wanted to be the Shawn Hunter's last first kiss? Her lips were plumper than his and she felt her mind slow down the anger washing away for .5 seconds, she ripped her hand off of Shawn's hand that rested on her cheeks and felt the anger return. Pulling away from Shawn and punched the smile off of Shawn's lips leaving with out another word.

Cory came to Shawn's aid watching the whole thing. As Pru stalked down the hallway she dug through her bag happy that she found the stick she's been looking for. Stopping in the middle of the hallway she shoved the stick in between her lips and fought with her lighter, when she felt someone snatch the lighter and the cigarette from her grasp she gave the person her best death glare.

Mr. Turner stood in front of the young girl with his arms crossed, he also got a view on the show.

"Homeroom now," He pointed he also looked down the hallway where Shawn stood holding his lip, "Hunter you too."

Homeroom started in ten minutes and Mr. Turner did not know if what his two students had to say would be said and done in that short amount of time. Mr. Turner leaned against the front of his desk as he stared at the two, Pru sat a desk away from Shawn who stared at her but she would not meet his eyes. Mr. Turner sighed turning to Shawn first, "Hunter...you mind filling me in on what I saw out there?"

Shawn licked his bleeding lips, "She punched me in the mouth what else is there to say?"

Mr. Turner nodded, "I saw that part. Pru, would you like to tell me why you punched Shawn in the face?"

Pru snorted brushed her dark chopped hair out of her face, "'Cause he pissed me off."

"What did he do to make you upset?" Mr. Turner asked holding his hand out at Shawn who wanted to reply.

Pru sat up straight in her desk leaning her folded hands on in the center, "Let me ask you this. If you sorta show the real you to someone you...care about do you suddenly act as if nothing happened? For example I say it's okay to be broken and let it out to find yourself, then this guy acts as if nothing happened and walks around the school with girly girls on his arm, makes out with her and then tries to make out with me? I'm just supposed to accept that?"

"Oh. I see what this is about." Mr. Turner nodded.

Shawn scoffed, "Do you? I would also like to be aware of this."

Mr. Turner smiled, "Shawn you and Pru have been friends for as long as you and Cory have, right?"

"Yeah..."

"I'm guessing you tried to get her attention for as long as you can...then suddenly you realize that the both of you may actually have real feelings for one another. Shawn you tried to run away from your problems picking Europe as the place to go, and Pru even though you probably wouldn't admit this you wanted something to happen between you and Shawn but things didn't go as planned. The thing is how do you both fix it?"

Pru rolled her eyes, "Oh I fixed the problem by punching his face in."

Shawn glared at Pru.

Mr. Turner shook his head, "That didn't solve anything did it?"

"It made me feel better," Pru grinned.

Shawn grumbled, "I'm glad hurting me makes you feel better."

Pru cut her eyes at Shawn, "I physically hurt you because you hurt me emotionally. I can't believe I'm about to admit this but you kissing Juliana made me feel like crap Shawn. I get you're not used to girls actually caring about you since all you do is break hearts-"

"Wait a minute. You turned me down since Kindergarten, that hurt me." Shawn frowned.

Mr. Turner stayed silent as he watched the two.

"Shawn we were kids...we didn't have a clue about relationships. We don't have a clue right now!"

Shawn disagreed, "Don't tell me how to feel. Yeah I may have dated a lot of girls in my fifteen years of living but none of them come close to you."

Pru stared at Shawn, "I'm trying to determine if all the words you say to me have real meaning behind them. Or are you just trying to make me another girl you can cross off your list."

Shawn slammed his hands on the desk, "See! This is exactly what I'm talking about. You open up a little bit and then you close back up making your blunt comments. At least with the girls I date are honest and direct about what they want, all you do is complicate things!"

Pru smiled as she looked at the chalkboard instead of Shawn, "Well hopefully you can find that girl you're looking for because I'm so done. All I wanted to do is get to know you, figure each other out...we care for each other to the point where it's too much Mr. Turner. I'm just like everyone of those dumb girls who secretly wants love but I'm terrified of it. We'd lose our minds trying to find each others and that's no way to live. I won't lose it. I can't especially when it's all I have left."

The dark haired teen rubbed over her face to make sure there were no tears. She stood up from her desk and turned to Shawn whose eyes never left her frame, "I want to be happy Shawn. I want you to be happy and if it's not with each other, then that's also fine. I don't mean to make things complicated for you...just be happy for me that's all I ask."

With that being said she left the class ignoring Mr. Turner's calls. When Mr. Turner turned to Shawn he continued sitting staring at his hands, he placed his hands on Shawn's shoulder.

"You gonna be alright?"

"I don't know...I really don't know," He whispered.

Pru ignored Shawn for the rest of the day especially in classes, the two had three classes together but he did not attend the last one they had together. Thankful for that her anxiety eased a bit and the day ended quicker than she expected. Trini invited Topanga and Pru over for dinner, the two were shocked that Rhiannon allowed Pru to go since she had not been on good terms with the woman. Topanga did not ask a single question about Shawn to Pru which the girl was also thankful for. The three actually made Pru laugh and she enjoyed herself spending time with the girls. Dinner consisted of Chicken and Penne in vodka cream sauce with a side salad which was delicious. Trini's mom was a single mother and a bit strange also but really chatty. She left the three alone to go pick up Trini's younger siblings, the two cousins helped Trini think of new hair styles since she fell in love with the way Topanga did Pru's.

As soon as the two girls left Trini's house Pru felt the pain swarming around again. It's been a while since Pru felt like this, she could not believe she was this hurt over a boy. She had to do what Shawn did and act like nothing happened. That is a promise she will make to herself. Even if it did take some time.

The two walked into the house with Topanga rushing to the living room to catch the last five minutes of some television show she watched with her dad. Pru walked into the hallway to see her aunt Rhiannon with her back to the girl holding a letter in her hand.

"Whatcha reading?" Pru asked peeking at the address of the letter.

The woman jumped folding the paper quickly behind her back, "Prudence...you and Topanga are back so soon!"

That made Pru question her aunt, "Not really it's almost seven. I heard Pangz greet you as she ran by you to watch that show with Uncle Jed...what were you reading that caused you to block out everything?"

Her aunt's eyes were wide as she gave her niece a smile, "Oh nothing just some bills."

Pru snorted, "I know I'm not as smart as Topanga but I'm not dumb so don't insult me anymore than you already do."

Rhiannon Lawrence remained silent as she stared down at her niece. Every time she stared or argued with her niece she saw her sister staring right back at her. When she remained silent she hoped that Pru would just leave unsatisfied it always worked with her daughter, but Pru was not like Topanga. She knew that Pru would find out eventually and there was no point in hiding it much longer.

"I hope what I am about to tell you doesn't make you go into one of your panic attacks so please try to relax."

Pru did not like where this was going and it must be bad if her aunt acknowledged her panic attacks. She leaned against the door frame for support waving at her aunt to go on.

Rihannon took a deep breath before catching Pru's eyes, "You remember how the past two weeks the phone continued to ring constantly?"

Pru nodded a frown digging into her forehead.

"I have this letter informing me that your father was stabbed leaving him with a punctured lung. He wants to see you Pru and I don't think it's a wise decision so I declined the offer, you don't have to thank me."

Pru glared at her aunt after she was lost at words. At first it did not register that it was her father calling the house and writing letters, who knows how many letters he could have written to her. Her aunt hid this from her.

"How long have you been lying to me about this?" Pru asked calmly.

Rhiannon sent Pru a look, "I didn't lie-"

"You just didn't tell me the truth. Auntie Rihannon you really set yourself up for that one. When did he get stabbed?"

Rihannon Lawrence stood across from Pru sighing, "About a week ago."

Pru nodded, "And he's been calling or the jail's been calling for about two weeks now," She clarified.

Her aunt did not to say anything more but the look on her face summed everything up. Pru stared at her aunt and then laughed shaking her head. Snatching the letter from her hands she held it in the air as she stated, "You don't make decisions for me."

"I'm your guardian."

Pru shrugged, "Doesn't make you my mom or my dad. I'm going to see him, I have to see what he wants."

The young teen brushed by her aunt leaving the woman to press her hand to her mouth in shock, she was not used to boldness just yet. Pru waved at her uncle on the way to her room slamming the door to block everything out. Her eyes scanned the words written in the letter as she slid down against the door and for the first time in a very long time Pru started crying.
