-Jazmine Sullivan, "Dream Big"

The summer of 1996 will be something Prudence Jewel would always remember. It approached quicker than she thought it would and she would have never imagined herself here. Sixteen years old and closer to her dreams. She wanted to play music, she wanted the world to see her story through the symphonies that hid beneath her piano keys. Pru didn't worry about her aunt Rihannon's opinion, the woman expected her to stay in a household with her over the whole summer? That would be beyond torture. Topanga would be off at camp and Pru didn't understand why her aunt would want another teenager to stay in the house. Pru began to think that her aunt must really like to irritate her nerves but uncle Jed convinced Rihannon to let Pru go. Either way Pru would find a way to Virginia with- or without their permission. Pru knew her uncle would be thrilled to see Pru actually explore her music side a bit more, Jed Lawrence played a little guitar himself and would play alongside Pru when she had the privilege to play the piano.

Pru chewed on her already bitten down nails as she got closer to her destination. Through the five hour drive from Philly to VA she found that she only took ten minute naps every other hour. Topanga teased that she's never seen Pru so nervous before but with a sharp glare from the girl Topanga brought out a deck of cards suggesting that the two play crazy eights in the backseat. That kept Pru's mind calm since she tended to be a bit competitive when it came to playing any game. The cousins played two rounds until Jed pulled the car off the exit.

"At the light you make a slight right and continue straight through the next four lights." Rihannon instructed, trailing her fingernail against the lines on the map that sat in her lap.

Pru turned to her right and stuck her head out through the window, her nose instantly picked up on fresh air and salt water. Pru's citrus sunrise eyes took a chance to peek up at the bright sun and immediately closed her eyes letting the sun rain over her skin. A loud horn made Pru peel her eyes open to see a semi-truck speeding close by on the right side of the car causing her to quickly pull her head back inside of the vehicle.

"Next time don't drive so close by! Jerk!" Rihannon yelled out of the window, throwing her hands up.

Pru snickered as she rested her head against the seat rest while Topanga scolded her mother, "Mom. I thought you said you were getting better at road rage."

Rihannon turned around to face her only daughter, "Listen Topanga, I'll rage if I want to. I don't know where some people get their license from."

"Rih...we're in a different city so we're the ones who have to adjust to their driving." Jed stated glancing at his wife, before stopping at the last light.

Rihannon rolled her eyes at her husband and glanced down at the map again. The older woman turned the knob down allowing the voice of Celine Dion to decrease, "Okay Jed. We need to make a left, then a right on the second street until we reach another light. After that it looks like we're going to be driving a bit since it's pretty much a clear path. Once we get to a stop sign we need to make another right, left, left and finally another right onto Little May Street and we should find it."

Pru leaned forward against the seats and patted her uncle's shoulders, "You got that Uncle Jed?"

The man smiled, "Yes. I have a great memory, better than your aunt here." He teased, earning another eye roll from his wife.

Pru grinned and sat back against the seats and watched as the colorful buildings began to slide to the back of her view as the car turned to the left. Now all that blocked her sight were lots of green and trees which Pru didn't mind since she would consider herself an outdoorsy person. Topanga fanned the back of her neck hoping that the slight sweat on the back of her neck would dry as she turned her back to the window facing her cousin. Pru now had her slightly chubby cheek pressed up against the door-side, her eyes quickly following the trees that blurred by her vision.

Topanga began to wonder if Pru would think about Shawn at all while she spent her time at this school for most of the summer. Topanga knew that she couldn't stop thinking about Cory even when they were in the same town, now Topanga would be off to the camp she's been attending since eight years old. There was no doubt in her mind that she wouldn't miss Cory, she missed him right now. They agreed on at least two letters a month just to check up on each other. When Pru came home last night she seemed to be okay which gave Topanga the indication that things with her and Shawn were fine. At least she hoped they were. Topanga strongly believed that Pru needed someone like Shawn in her life and so did he. Although Shawn was her boyfriend's best friend...she knew Pru a bit better than Shaw but that didn't mean she would not look into both sides of the story.

Pru and Shawn were two damaged teenage kids (one more so than the other) who finally found a spark in each other to keep going. Topanga wanted to see them last, she wanted them to work out and be what the other needed. She just wished that their insecurities wouldn't tear each other apart. At the end of the day Pru and Shawn would do whatever they felt the need to do and no one could stop them. With Pru getting a glimpse at what her life could be like attending this school full time could change everything. In the end it would be Pru's decision and what she feels would be best for her and Topanga could do nothing but support her older cousin. In the end she would be there for Shawn as well.

Soon the car came to a stop and that pulled Topanga out of her daze as Pru sat up straight her eyes widening at the size of the school. Topanga stuck her head out of the window to get a better look at what Pru had her eyes on. Topanga's mouth opened a bit as she stared up at the coral colored bricks, of course she spotted lots of green that surrounded the circular brick building. Pru was the first to get out of the car to get a better look, she rested the side of her hand against her forehead to block out the sun. The sixteen year old was in complete awe, the front of the building sat far from the main street and she was amazed that they found a park in front of the building. The school sat up on a hill with huge pillars holding a balcony on top of them, Pru noticed that two french doors were wide open as a woman and a man stood talking.

"Is that the principal?" Topanga asked, Now standing beside Pru.

Pru squinted against the sun as the young woman grinned at the older looking man who disappeared from the balcony. The woman leaned against the railing on her elbows glancing over at the students who stood around chatting and others with their family members just like Pru.

"Yeah, Yeah I think so. It kinda looks like her from the photos online." Pru finally answered.

Rhiannon placed her favorite large orange floppy hat over her reddish-brown hair, "She's looks a little young to be a principal."

Pru pulled her backpack from the backseat and placed it onto her back, "Well her dad used to be the principal but he died from a brain tumor earlier this year so she took over."

"Oh that sounds heartbreaking," Topanga commented pulling her hair into a high-ponytail.

Pru nodded curling her fingertips around the straps of her bag. Jed decided to break through the small tension, "Well come on Kiddo. Let's get you checked it and off to your room."

Pru frowned, "Wait you guys are coming with me?"

Rhiannon laughed, "Uh yeah! We want to make sure everything is solid before we leave you five hours behind." She shut the car door shut, making sure Jed locked the doors before leading the way up the hilly grass.

Topanga turned to her cousin and grinned hooking her arms through Pru's, dragging her up the hill behind her parents. Pru scanned over the campus at different kids, some who looked older and some who looked around her age. Once inside the lobby she let out a sigh of relief from the cooled area which was decorated with a hint of modern touches here and there. Rihannon turned to Pru and waved her forward towards the front desk where a guy in his early twenties sat, his eyes were set on a computer screen in front of him as he sipped on a water bottle. At the sound of Pru's squeaky converse the guy looked up and set a grin on his face, as Pru got closer to the man he flicked his hair out of his eyes.

"Hi, Welcome to SWGC. How may I be of assistance to you, Pretty thang?"

Pru lifted one eyebrow as she took in the guy's appearance. She didn't know if he were trying to flirt with her or if this was the southern charm she's heard so much about. Pru held her finger out to the man and dug into her black and white stripped shorts pocket to pull out a folded up paper, "I'm checking in for the summer trial thingy. The name's Pru. Pru Jewel."

The man took the paper from her keeping the grin on his face as he read over the crumpled paper. "Alright. Let me just check you in and to make sure that you're actually in the system. Where did you say you were from, Pru?"

As the man quickly started typing onto the keyboard Pru muttered, "I didn't."

Pru felt a hand on her shoulder and she cringed knowing that her aunt stood beside her, "We're from Philadelphia. Drove five hours and twenty minutes for her."

Mr. Grin lifted his eyes from the screen as he faced Rhiannon, "Philadelphia? Wow. Out of all the people I checked in today you're the first from the place with the best cheese steaks."

"Really? Well I hope you represent us well won't you Pru?" Rhiannon smiled down at Pru, who shrugged her shoulders in return letting her eyes run over the crown moldings.

Mr. Grin clicked around a few more times before meeting Rhiannon and Pru's eyes, "You're all set. Your room is W132 which is on the west wing which is right over the bridge. Here's a map of the campus and if you have any trouble there are some tour guides around to help you. Orientation doesn't start for another two hours so I hope you get everything settled in before that and feel free to check out the cafeteria we have the best food out of all of the campuses in Virginia, I'm not just saying that because I work here. I certainly hope you enjoy your time here at SWGC and consider enrolling full-time."

Pru took the paper and the map from Mr. Grin nodding, "Thanks."

She turned to see Topanga and Jed already towards the back exit of the building. She glanced back to see her aunt asking the guy what his name is and decided to walk ahead. Pru was immediately washed with the heat again and began to realize how big this campus really is. Up ahead held a long pathway heading off in different directions and a small view of the water behind the trees. This place was beyond huge and pretty. Pru found herself in front of her cousin and uncle now taking in every inch of the place that she could. As she approached the wide bridge there were less trees allowing the sun to shine down on Pru and to see the shimmering water.

After getting off the bridge she turned to the left noticing sliver letters on the building that read: W E S T. Pru let out a sigh as she put a little more speed in her walk trying to get out of the heat, once inside only rooms 1-50 were on the first floor. Pru groaned walking over to the elevator and mashed on the button waiting for at least one of her family members to catch up. Topanga was the first to walk over to Pru and handed her a bottle of water, "We stopped at the vending machine. It feels like the temperature increased since we've walked around." Pru took the water bottle from her cousin and cracked open the water bottle.

Topanga bumped Pru's hip, "How do you feel about the school so far?"

Pru shrugged her shoulders once more, "I honestly just want to play my music and see if someone really thinks I have talent. I've been told plenty of times 'No' and just by them accepting my tape gives me a little push to try harder."

Topanga smiled as the elevator signaled that it has arrived, "You've said it all. Some people have to knock you down in order to be better than you thought you were. That's the marvelous thing about talent and finding it. You get some no's but if you really have the talent then you yourself can say that 'Yes I have something to show the world. I'm going to be stronger and I'm not going anywhere.' It's a good thing you have your dreams all figured out, I'm just stuck on going to school. All I know is education."

The two teens entered the elevator and Pru leaned against the wall facing her cousin, "That's not so bad is it? Pangz, you've always been the smarty pants out the four of us. There's nothing wrong with striving for education. That's a great thing dude, at least it's something that no one can ever take away from you."

"Yeah. Enough about this depressing stuff, You're here at a possible dream school. I'm going off to Camp to not think about school for a bit. I think it's a wish come true and I really hope you have a great tremendous time here PJ."

Pru smirked, "Don't get all sappy on me. You're not leaving me yet."

The two turned to the exit of the elevator and felt the box jolt to a stop. Pru and Topanga took their time locating Pru's room and found it at the very end of the hallway. The first thing Pru saw was a chalk board on the door covered with black bendy pipe cleaner sticking out in different directions. Pru stopped in her tracks to read the words written in green chalk: Welcome to Planet Freak. If You Don't Believe Then Don't come in. You've Bee WARNED.

"Are you sure you got the right room?" The look on Topanga's face was evident that she was very skeptical to enter the room.

Pru dug into her pocket to check over the room number and it was indeed W132. She handed the paper over to Topanga and placed her hand on the door knob turning to face the blonde one last time before pushing the door open. The room was very dark with burgundy sheets covering the large window behind the comfy couch, the room was freezing and Pru couldn't see anything else besides a bed to the right. A bunch of black hair was the first thing Pru saw and she felt Topanga gasp, Pru took this as the time to run her fingers against the wall until she found a switch. Light appeared from the center of the room causing the black haired figure to jump up tossing their cover to the side, Pru moved to stand from the end of her roommate's bed.

The girl was shorter than Pru, around Topanga's height or maybe a little shorter. Her hair was dark, a little poofy and most of it rested against her forehead. Her skin the color of light cream added to coffee, her eyebrows thick with her eyes the shade of dark brown with droopy eyelids. As Pru looked over her roommate, her roommate did the same. Pru seemed to finish first noting what her roommate looked like, now she needed to find out a bit about her character. Her teal eyes ran over the room, Pru figured that her roommate was not a fan of the sun since she had the room freezing and that the girl ran over to the front door to slam it shut. Her side of the room had a bohemian like rug hanging from her wall, messy abstract comforter sheets, a beat up panda bear laying against her pillow, a small desk crammed to the right of the couch with pieces of papers and opened journals thrown on top of desk giving Pru the indication that the girl must be a singer and that the papers consisted of lyrics, At the end of her bed on the floor sat a chest and underneath sat two more chest where the girl's clothes must be. The last two things that caught Pru's attention were the incense burning by the other window on the girl's side and an open sketch book laying on her bed.

"Who are you?" Her roommate asked sitting on her bed post, her legs dangling.

Pru turned to the right tossing her bag onto the empty bed, "I'm Pru. I guess we're roommates."

The girl nodded, "Nice to meet ya Pru. The names McKenna-Rae, Call me Mick, Kenna, or McKenna's cool. Is she staying with us too?"

Pru followed McKenna's gaze to see Topanga now scooping out the room herself. Pru breathed out a small laugh, "Nah. That's just my cousin, Topanga."

McKenna raised an eyebrow, "Tuh-Pang-guh? Why the hell did your parents name you that?"

Pru snickered at the appalled look on Topanga's face, This was not the first time Topanga's been asked this question. The girl crossed her arms as she turned to McKenna, "I have you know I happen to like my name. If you must know my parents were riding around in California on their way to the market. At the time my mom was pregnant with me and they haven't decided on names yet. My mom's water broke and my dad had to get off the nearest exit which was Topanga. As soon as I was born my parents decided that Topanga would be the name they would name their little girl, The end." She gave McKenna a false smile and the girl instantly picked up on it.

McKenna held her hands up, "Sorry. I'm just curious."

"And a bit rude," Topanga bit back.

McKenna shrugged her shoulders feeling that she said her apologizes and if the girl didn't take it, she didn't care. The only person she needed to make a friendship with was Pru and if that didn't work out, it would be a long two months. McKenna pushed herself up from her bed clapping her hands together, "So where are you from?"

"Philly." Pru answered sitting down on her own bed.

McKenna nodded, "Cool. I'm from Danbury but I was living with my grandparents in Arizona before I came here."

"Why's that?" Topanga asked checking out Pru's side of the room.

McKenna grinned showing off her braces, "I pissed off my parents."

Pru's ears perked up at the sound of that, almost animal like.

"What'd you do?"

"Another story for another time." McKenna winked, Which made Pru believe that she would tell her but just when Topanga wasn't around.

McKenna looked around Pru's room, "Your room's looking a little boring Pru. Where's the rest of your things?"

"They're back at the car. My aunt and uncle are around here somewhere."

McKenna nodded, "Are you two sisters?"

"Cousins-" Pru started.

"But close enough like sisters," Topanga answered with a smile.

Pru rolled her eyes with a teasing smile on her face. She then turned to McKenna, "You have a lot of stuff in here and you decorated your side already?"

McKenna glanced over her shoulder at her side of the room before turning back to Pru, "I actually got here a day earlier. My grandmother said she got the dates mixed up but I think she just wanted to get rid of me. My grandpa and I went to Principal Emmons, nice lady. She was totally cool about the whole thing and let me set up a day early."

"So she's not a bitch?" Pru asked.

"PJ!" Topanga scolded, earning a laugh from McKenna.

Pru needed to know these things. She had her shares with the last principal back at John Adams before Feeny and she didn't need to have a taste of that again.

McKenna shook her head with a grin liking her room-mate already, "No. So far she seems not lame. I have a feeling you and I will be great friends Pru."

Pru lifted her head to meet McKenna's grin and returned the gesture.

It took Pru, Topanga, and Jed twenty-minutes to reassure that Pru would be fine to Rihannon. For a woman who's been down Pru's throat since the moment she arrived back to Philly she sure didn't want to leave. Pru would have thought that her aunt would skip away knowing that Pru would be out of her hair for almost two months. But when her aunt kept talking and lecturing her about being on her best behavior she was shocked to find the woman hugging her tightly before leaving Pru alone with McKenna.

Pru let out a long sigh plopping down on her white and black sheets to stare back up at her ceiling. Pru didn't have as much things to decorate her room but it was enough to not make her feel crammed like she did when she entered McKenna's zone. Pru had her own desk and a computer that she would share with McKenna, it was a rule for all roommates. She had a small fridge next to the comfy green plushy couch, and a desk that was turned at an angle next to another window that was built upwards. In the small space by the window pane, Pru had glow in the dark stars printed against them with a few candles. On the wall she had one single poster of Nirvana and a black heart drawn around Kurt's face next to her bed, her keyboard in a case underneath her bed, a skeleton cut-out on the wall her bed was pressed against, and her own small chest in front of her bed where her she placed four pairs of shoes in. Next to her keyboard underneath her bed sat two more duffle bags filled with clothes. Pru's side of the room may not be as messy or decorated as her McKenna's but she happened to be very content with her room.

"Hey you wanna go and grab some dinner? We still have a whole hour until orientation." McKenna suggested, leaning back so she could get a good view of Pru.

Pru leaned on her elbows, "Yeah. I'm starving."

McKenna messed with her hair pulling of her busy patterned blouse revealing a tank-top underneath. She tossed the blouse onto the floor and shoved it underneath her bed and crossed over to Pru's side, "Are you ready?"

Pru rolled off her bed and shoved some flip-flops onto her feet heading over to the door where McKenna held the door open.

"Hey do we get some sort of key to enter the building and our rooms? 'Cause I've had things stolen before back when I went to school in New York and it was not a good time." Pru started up a conversation as the two girls walked down the hallway where Britney Spears could be heard from one-room, the sound of girls yelling, and also the sound of buzzing from one room.

McKenna smiled, "The only Kleptomaniac you have to worry about is not on this floor. At orientation Principal Emmons said that we're all going to have to head over to the library to get our id's. As of right now the room's are unlocked but after tonight they will be locked and we will need a our ID's to access our buildings and our rooms."

Pru let the information sink in as the exited the building letting the warmth take over again. It seemed to have cooled off some or at least by the water where fireflies began to glow. McKenna didn't seem to think so, "Ugh! I hate hot weather. I hate summer, winter is my favorite month. I prefer being cold over hot. I couldn't stand it in Arizona and I think that's why my parents really wanted to send me there. In Danbury you knew what the weather would be, it never get's too hot until the end of July into August."

"Where's Danbury?" Pru questioned.

McKenna flickered her hair away from her forehead and led the way down a slope seeing a large building in the distance. "In the state of Connecticut which is close by New York."

When Pru didn't say anything else McKenna began to swing her hands back and forth, "I'm guessing you're not that close with your aunt."

"Your guess is correct." Pru answered, resting her hands on the flat of her stomach as it began to grumble.

McKenna grinned and noticeably started walking a bit faster, "Does she get mad at you a lot?"

"Yup. She get's mad at me, I get mad at her for trying to control my life and act like my mother."

"Where is your mom?" McKenna asked.

Pru slowed down, "You're asking a lot of questions Mick."

McKenna pursed her lips holding the cafeteria door open, "Sorry. I happen to ask too many questions making me seem nosy when I'm just trying to make friends. This is a problem I constantly face, again sorry about that. If I'm too nosy or rude just let me know."

Pru tilted her head to the side trying to figure out McKenna as she played with her own fingers scanning the large room. The room also had A/C blasting but it was not as cool as McKenna liked to keep their room. Pru smiled at the girl, "Mick you're being a little nosy."

McKenna nodded as Pru led the way to the line. McKenna followed after the girl and as Pru waited for a lunch-tray she leaned down to McKenna's height, "She's dead. My dad is also dead, he died a few months ago actually."

"Dang. I'm sorry dude, I wish I never brought it up."

Pru shrugged her shoulders, "It's fine. Like you said you were just trying to get to know me." Pru picked up three large slices of cheese pizza with bacon and a side of bread sticks.

At the end of the line she grabbed napkins and a bottle of water waiting for McKenna to finish grabbing whatever she needed. McKenna stood next to Pru scooping out the room and lifted her head in a nod, "There's a table over there. Follow me."

Pru made eye-contact with a few students who gave Pru a smile before returning back to their conversations, while other's just stared and looked away. Pru walked around McKenna who sat down on a bench and placed her tray down on the table sitting down to the right of McKenna. Pru rubbed her hands together hoping the food was as good as Mr. Grin said it would be. Pru held her fresh slice in front of her hands and before she could even take a bite out of the slice she met a pair of blue eyes. Not just any pair of blue eyes but the brightest blue eyes that they were almost pale like. These blue eyes were so light that they would remind you of a Antarctic glacier and as Pru started in them she felt frozen, like she was sitting on the center of that glacier. His frozen like eyes were captivating and sent a chill down Pru's spine.

His dirty blonde hair was held back against a backwards white cap that rested against his head. His eyebrows were slightly thick and long and when the left corner of his skin pulled up into a smile without his teeth showing Pru knew she was in trouble. "Hi. Kenna, whose your friend?"

McKenna looked up slurping the rest of the noodles into her mouth but talked with her mouth full with her hand resting over her mouth, "This is Pru Jewel my roommate. Pru this is Julian Lane, we went to school together back in Danbury until I was shipped off to Arizona."

Pru leaned away from McKenna not wanting to get sprayed by the food in her mouth while Julian look bothered. Those glacier blues returned back to Pru's teal painted eyes with a dash of the original Gatorade in the middle and held out his hand, "Nice to meet you Pru."

Pru hesitated staring at Julian who had his hand out waiting to be grasped. She hoped that she didn't get the sick feeling she always felt when she allowed someone to touch her, with a small deep breath she placed her hands in his. Julian gave her hand a gentle shake, "What are you into?" He asked, allowing his smooth voice to vibrate through Pru's veins.

Pru pulled her hand back, "I play piano."

"Niiice. Can you guess what I play?"

Pru's stomach grumbled and she held her finger out to Julian who held his hand out to her tray letting her know that he was completely fine with waiting for her answer. While Pru chewed on her pizza and swallowed the rest of the meal she guessed, "Drums?"

Julian and McKenna shared a laugh.

"I knew she would guess that!" McKenna yelled before shoving a meatball into her mouth.

"So what do you play?" Pru's curiosity got the best of her.

Julian leaned his elbows onto the table, "Believe it or not I play the violin."

Pru smiled, "I'm shocked."

Julian glanced up at Pru from his eyelashes and smiled along with his eyes.

"I sing!" McKenna chipped it after swallowing the lemonade.

"I figured that with all the papers and journals thrown all over the place. You also have a lot of inch smudges on your fingers which gave me my answer. I know that you also like to sketch with thin point pints or something close enough to it."

McKenna and Julian smiled at each other until McKenna returned back to her food.

"If you could guess McKenna's talent instantly why was mine such a challenge?" Julian wondered.

Pru wiped the grease on her napkins, "I just met you. I bet if I spent a few hours with you before you told me I could have figured it out."

Julian raised an eyebrow, "Really?"

"Really."

Julian sat up straight and ran his eyes against the room grinning. He stood from the table and rested his hands against his mouth, "Rocco we're over here!"

Pru looked over her shoulder to see who Julian called out to but could not see from over the kids' heads. Julian moved his legs to leave from the table, "I'm gonna get something to eat with Rocco. I'll be back, Do you ladies need anything?"

"No. We're okay." McKenna answered, smiling sweetly at Julian who returned the smile leaving the two.

McKenna quickly turned to Pru causing the girl's eyes to go wide wondering what the problem is.

"Long story short. Julian Lane, went to school with him up until sophomore year. Knew him since kindergarten actually. His father was in the marines but died Julian's freshman year, he is the definition of a good guy who is liked by everyone. I mean everyone. Julian plays on the basketball team and in his spare time he volunteers at animal shelters. Sad part of his life he and his mom ended up in a homeless shelter for a little while after his father's death. He's also the only child, like he says he plays the violin, AND he's only ever dated one girl in life back in Danbury. Girl named Stevie, she tried to break his heart but he broke up with her before she even could. Ever since then he's been single."

Pru pressed her lips together, "I didn't ask for his whole life story Mick but thanks anyway," She stated before finishing the rest of her first slice.

McKenna scoffed, "You're welcome!"

"How do you know so much about him? Did you have a crush on him or something?"

McKenna snorted, "Me have a crush on Julian? Don't get me wrong he's gorgeous but I don't play for that team."

"Ohhhh okay." That was all Pru replied with.

McKenna frowned, "Okay? That's all you have to say?"

"What else do you want me to say?" Pru's bluntness came into play.

"I expect you to demand a new-roomate or want to change rooms. Or get up and leave."

"Is that what you want me to do?"

"No."

"I don't care about what you prefer. This has nothing to do with me. I don't really care but that's for telling me."

McKenna let out a deep breath she didn't know she was holding, "Man...I wish my parents and my grandmother were just as accepting as you and my grandpa."

Pru gave McKenna a smile, "Screw their opinions. You like what you like. I strongly believe that sexuality or any other believes should not be forced upon a child. Demands and rules...I have a hard time following. You liking the same sex doesn't change how I see you at all, just know that Mick."

"Who are you?" McKenna said in awe.

Pru smirked eating the rest of her slice.

"Do you have a boyfriend?"

"Kinda." Pru slowly answered.

"What does kinda mean? Either you do or you don't?"

"Why are you so worried about it?"

"Because I think you would be perfect for Julian."

"There's no such thing as perfect."

"Ladies." A voice greeted.

Pru lifted her head to see yet another good looking guy sitting across from her. He had slicked back chocolate brown hair, friendly sea green eyes, and he was the definition of pretty. His plaid shirt collar's were flicked up and he also held his hand out after placing his tray down on the table and sitting down.

"I'm Rocco Lane. You're right Ju...she's cute." Rocco grinned picking up his sandwich.

Pru's gaze immediately went over to Julian's who smiled but quickly ducked his head.

"Are you guys-"

"Cousins. I'm older by two years...well Julian here will be sixteen in a few days. How old are you Pru?"

"Sixteen."

Rocco smiled, "So what's this about a bet I hear? Can you really guess what my musical talent is?"

Pru wiggled her last slice around, "In pizza we trust. By tomorrow I'll have it all figured out."

"Alright it's a bet...but we've got to shake on it."

Pru sighed placing her slice back down and wiped down. She waited for Rocco to dust off the bread crumbs from his hands and for Julian to wipe the BBQ sauce from his fingers. Pru crossed her arms to shake both of the boy's hands not having any idea what else this school had to offer.

A/N: Julian Lane is played by the late Jonathan Brandis and Rocco is played by Rob Lowe. McKenna is played by Lisa Bonet back when she had braces. No Pru/ Shawn in this chapter but there will obviously be more in the next chapters since I'm only writing twelve chapters. Please excuse any mistakes I took two math tests for school but really wanted to write this for you. It's now midnight and I need to crash. So leave me a review if you want more.

Until next time.
