The Shadow of Fire
Chapter 27: Brawl
Ulysses clenched his fists.
As Gore charged across the room like a rampaging Ursa, he moved himself into a battle stance, ready for the beast.
20 feet.
He examined the mechs armor thoughtfully, looking for any kinks or flaws in the design, and when he found none... He grinned.
15 feet.
It had been quite some time since his last full fledged fight. The normal creatures of Grimm, while very imposing, lacked the skill or brains to properly fight besides automatically flailing their claws and pincers at Humans and Faunus, and weren't a challenge to him anymore. However, this one seemed to be smarter than the average Grimm.
10 feet.
If this "Gore" could kill a Master Hunter, a ranking below Grand Master and one that very few ever get close to achieving, and maim another, it was a very dangerous being that needed to be dealt with as carefully as possible.
5 feet.
It had killed his friend, and hurt another. Ulysses wouldn't call himself a genius, but he knew one thing for sure.
This monster was about to be put down.
As Gore reached Ulysses and jumped at the man, he brought his right fist forward, connecting with the mechs upper chest. The impact and sheer force sent the beast flying across the room, right into the wall, where it promptly fell to the floor.
As the beast shook its head and got back up, Gore let out a fearsome roar in anger towards the Master Hunter, the black flames on its bone spikes grew larger. The beast leaned forward and let out a loud roar, the flames flying towards Ulysses in massive fireballs.
The man jumped in the air, spinning and dodging several of the black fireballs before landing on the marble flooring. Ulysses looked back at the beast and grinned wickedly, pressing his watches again.
His Mask Cleavers sprung out on his hands, the blades sparking to life. Ulysses bolted forward, dodging more and more fireballs as he ran across the room.
Ulysses closed in on Gore and jumped up, spinning in a half circle before landing on the beasts back, gripping a bone spike with his left hand. As Gore roared and shook its body in anger, attempting to throw Ulysses off, the mech slammed its body into the wall, nearly breaking into another room.
Ulysses swung around on the spike, slashing with his claws at the bone, cutting several off. The bones landed on the bloody floor, rolling around as Gore rampaged around, roaring in agony. Ulysses bent down and pushed up with his legs, causing his body to fly into the air and Gore to be send flat onto the ground.
As Ulysses gracefully landed a few feet away, he retracted his claws on his weapon, pressing a button on each of the gauntlets. On the right hand one, a ring of one inch holes appeared around his hand, while the left one let one large hole open up.
Ulysses pointed the right gauntlet at the beast and pressed his thumb to the center of his hand, his nervous systems connection with his weapon and Aura telling the weapon to fire.
It worked like a mini gun, Aura generated bullets flew from the holes along the ring, flying towards Gore as he struggled to get up. The Aura bullets dinged off harmlessly, but the sheer amount of them forced him back, a few inches at a time.
Ulysses lowered his right arm and pointed his left hand at the beast, firing the left weapon. A RPG missile of Aura flew from it, slamming into Gore with the force of twenty semi-trucks.
Gore was sent across the room in a cloud of black smoke, cutting off Ulysses view of the beast as it roared in pain beyond the cloud. He lowered his weapons and changed them back into watches, expecting the beast to be slain as its roars died off painfully.
As Ulysses turned to leave the room, Gore charged out of nowhere, bringing its claws down on him.
Ulysses yelled out in pain as Gore's claws raked down his back, blood dripping from the cuts as he stumbled forward in pain. Gore slowly stalked around the injured man, roaring in triumph. Gore jumped forward, slashing multiple cuts on his body faster than a thought, nearly causing Ulysses to fall over on impact.
As Gore racked his claws across the man's chest, tearing into his clothes, Ulysses was sent rolling across the room, slowly rising to his knees.
"You think you've won?" Ulysses asked the beast, flashing his eyes at the mech.
Ulysses body grew in size every second, his Semblance activating. Every second, his body gained 25 pounds, muscles growing along his body. He grew taller and wider as 15 seconds passed, nearly as large as the Ursa Major before him.
Ulysses charged forward with his massive bear-like body, ramming Gore head on. The two moved across the floor before Gore jammed his feet into the marble flooring, holding its ground.
The two were in lock, Ulysses hands around Gore's paws as they both struggled to keep in their respective areas. Ulysses began bringing his hands into a closed fist, breaking the metal on Gores clawed hands, causing the beast to wail in pain. Gore head butted Ulysses, moving away from him and onto the center platform.
Ulysses quickly shrunk back to normal size, plucking up one of Gore's fallen bone spikes. He locked eyes with the massive dagger shaped chandelier and threw the spike like a javelin at it. As the bone spike speared through the glass chain that held the dagger up, the massive chandelier fell down, right on top of Gore.
The glass dagger speared through the metal exterior of Gore, right into its organs, ripping its stomach apart. Gore fell to the floor in utter pain, whimpering as it bleed to death, its eyes going dim.
Ulysses turned away from Gore and ran his fingers along the rim of his hat, walking towards the exit to follow the teams.
A/N: Hey guys! Hope you liked the chapter. Now, an important message
If you're reading this, yay! If not, sad face. Anyways, this is a message to the current 100th Follower of this story, and to the future 100th Favorite of this story. Currently, G.N Over-Kite is the 100th follower, and as such, along with the future 100th Favorite, have earned a present!
You get to mess with the story.
By that, I mean you get to be in a conversation with me, and talk about what you want in the story. So technically, you can change parts of the story. This can range from adding some event, if it's plausible with the plot, to creating a WHOLE Arc of your very own based on your topic! Isn't that awesome?
Now there will be rules to this, and they will be discussed by PM, so no cutting out Faunus Ruby stuff, that ruins the future Arcs. As well with this, limitations will be set as well. If an idea is too big or 100% contradicts future or current plot, we will meet somewhere in the middle.
This is not an attempt to earn more Favorites or Followers; I just want to reward you. This is out of the goodness in my heart.
Once the 100th Favorite is found by me, I will contact them to discuss it. G.N Over-Kite, PM me when you read this.
Have a nice day/night everyone!
