I'm sorry about that guys, I said it would be slower updates from now on, though I didn't intend for it to take that long. But don't worry this story will not die! Life's just happening too. Anywho, thanks for all the love and support and please enjoy this next chapter!

Donnie was smiling and quiet contentment as he held April's hand and they walked back to her place. They hadn't really said anything, but Donnie was pretty sure they were boyfriend and girlfriend. In fact he had been trying to gather up the courage to ask her. 'Just ask her you coward!' He yelled at himself. So before it left him he blurted, "Are we dating?"

Actually he kind of shouted it and it was definitely louder because of quiet between them and around them. In fact he actually saw April jumped a little. He didn't back down though, if there was one thing becoming a turtle had given him, it was confidence. Not in abundance, but more than he had before.

April smiled at him, "Seeing as how we've been on multiple dates I think the answer would be obvious."

"No I mean are we," He gulped, "Boyfriend and girlfriend?" His voice cracked.

April just continue to smile, turning to face him completely. "Does this answer your question?"

Before he had a chance to wonder what she was going to say she leaned in and kissed him. Donnie didn't need another invitation as he happily kissed her back. 'Well,' He thought somewhat deliriously, 'I guess it does.'

Donnie was very much enjoying himself, but then he heard something. He broke the kiss and looked down the road. "What is it?" April asked before they both heard it again. It was just as soft, but Donnie still had no idea what it was. "The Kraang are here." April told him softly as they both pulled out their weapons. Master Splinter had given April a Tessen. It was supposed to have been his daughter Miwa's, but Splinter felt it was better served for April and she wielded it beautifully. As far as how April knew it was the Kraang? Well they had discovered among their many battles April had a very strange connection with the Kraang and a psyche unlike anything they had ever seen. If she said the Kraang were here, they were here.

It wasn't another second before the Kraang came out of nowhere and they started fighting while Donnie changed into his turtle self. April moved like water and he did his best to pay attention to the fight and not her. It was exceedingly difficult. However he did manage to pay attention enough to notice a certain gun the Kraang had aimed at April.

"April look out!" Donnie called in warning, but it was too late. As she looked over to him to see what he was calling her for, the Kraang fired on her throwing her across the street. "April!" Donnie cried worriedly. Racing to her he saw she was now covered in greenish-blue glowing goop.

"Ugh!" She cried standing up and wiping the goop off of her. "This is disgusting!"

"Are you alright?" Donnie asked worried, but a little confused.

"Yeah, I'm fine, but what is this stiff?" She asked flinging some away from her. The goop landed on a nearby pigeon. It didn't do anything for a second but then it started to squawk and cry out. Donnie and April watched in fear and shock as the Pigeon mutated in front of them and turned into something terrifying. "Donnie?" April asked scared, moving behind him.

"Ummm... yeah, this is new for me too." Donnie said chuckling nervously. The Kraang turned and started firing on the creature, but it didn't take to it very well and destroyed them all. Again Donnie chuckled nervously, "Well at least we don't have to worry about the Kraang anymore."

"Oh yeah?" April asked as they slowly started to back away from the thing as it started to come towards them, "Right now I prefer the Kraang." Donnie silently agreed.

The creature lunged for them and Donnie jumped into the air and April dodged left. Donnie twirled his staff and above his head creating momentum then smacked it down in the creatures head making it cry out in pain. It retaliated quickly enough with its beak, however before Donnie could even think out retreating his head went into his shell and popped back out.

"Wow!" April called with a smile throwing her Tessen at the bird, "I didn't know you could do that!"

Donnie laughed, "Neither did I!" He said happily. However that happiness didn't last long as the bird's wing came out of nowhere and smacked him, sending him flying into a building. "I'm okay." He called dazedly as he heard April call his name. The bird launched at him again and Donnie planted his staff on the ground allowing himself to vault over the thing. He landed on its back and Donnie twirled his staff before bring it down on its neck. The bird froze in its movements before it suddenly started to shake violently. "April get back!" Donnie called quickly.

April did as she was told and jumped away hiding behind a dumpster just as the bird exploded. April stayed hidden for a few seconds as she heard the sound of dripping, but then she glanced around and saw the whole street corner was covered in the slimy glowing ooze stuff that had fallen on her and the bird. She stood up and walked into the street once more noticing the lack of her boyfriend. "Donnie?!" She called worriedly.

"Here!" She heard him call back. Looking around she saw a large metal sheet move slightly then it was sent flying across the street, Donnie coming up from under it. Sometimes she forgot how strong he could be.

"Are you okay?" She asked coming to stand by him and help him up.

Donnie nodded and rubbed his head, "I'll live." He answered before walking over to a pile of the ooze and pulling out a vile from seemingly nowhere. "However I am very curious as to why this stuff changed the bird into a giant monster, but didn't seem to effect you at all." He looked back at her, "You are okay, right?"

April smiled at him, "Yes, I'm alright." Just then they both heard the sounds of sirens, "But we should probably get out of here."

Donnie nodded and placed his sample away before walking over to her. "Would you like to come back to the lair or…?"

"I would rather come back to the lair." April answered at once. "I'll just call my dad and tell him I'm spending the night at Irma's pace. I really feel safer with you guys anyway." She added as they headed back the way they came.

Donnie smiled at that happy as he changed back to human. "Good."

Donnie went straight to the lab the minute he got back. April wanted to be with him, but when Donnie got in a mood he was almost always unable to come up to the surface once he was done. Instead she spent the time calling her father and letting him know what was going on. The edited version at least. The next few hours she spent simply waiting and playing a video game or two. She had no idea where Mikey or Raph were so it was safe to say she was incredibly bored.

Finally April couldn't take it anymore. She walked back into the lab and up to Donnie. "Okay I've been patient. What have you found out?"

Donnie turned a bit and smiled at her, "Well from what I can tell, the 'ooze' is a compound of components made up to have mutagenic properties."

"What kind of components?"

"I have no idea." Donnie answered with a shrug. "I can't identify any of them. But I do know for sure that if this stuff touches you, it changes you into the last thing you touched. The last thing that had any type of DNA on it."

"Wait I'm confused, what do you mean by that?" April asked taking a seat next to him.

"Well, just watch." Donnie said before taking a tiny drop of them ooze and dropping it onto a leaf. April watched in amazement as the leaf started to transform before her eyes into a… small leafy turtle?

"What the?"

"The skin cells, the DNA, from my hand transferred to the leaf when I touched it earlier and the mutagen acted on it changing the leaf's cellular properties. It changes everything it touches."

"So… why was I okay?" April asked softly.

Donnie looked at her, "I'm still running the analysis." Just then there was a beeping to the side and they both looked over. Donnie rolled his chair over to the sound and looked down at something.

"Well?" April said with a smile. "What did you find out?"

Donnie didn't answer for a minute, but then he jerked back in surprise. "What!?" He cried.

"What?! What is it!?" April asked scared.

"No, this can't be right." Donnie continued ignoring her.

"Donatello, what is it?" April said grabbing his shoulders and forcing him to look at her.

Donnie hesitated for just a second before answering her. "April, I don't know how this is possible, but it says here that your DNA… is that of a Kraang too."

..::-::..

"And they were like you and me together! We can be forever!"

"Oh would you please stop!" Raph cried finally irritated enough at Mikey's attempt at singing to shout at him.

"Don't harp on the classics bro." Mikey said with a scowl.

"In what universe was dat monstrosity you were screechin' a classic?" Raph asked scowling right back. "I don't even know what it was!"

"And therein lies the glorious mystery." Mikey said evasively. Raph had a feeling Mikey didn't know either. "Besides I had to keep my awesome self, entertained because you seem to be totally boring tonight!" Mikey snapped.

"I am not!" Raph snapped back. "I've just been thinkin' a lot."

Mikey seemed to pause, "About what? Is your mom okay?"

Raph smiled softly thinking about his mother whom he loved dearly, "Yeah, she's okay. We're doin' good and she seems ta be a lot happier. She even started ta put makeup on and wear pretty dresses again."

Mikey smiled widely, "Sweet! I'll bet she's really pretty! And feels pretty now too!"

"Yeah," Raph said with a content and happy sigh, "She's even prettier in person."

"Aww!" Mikey said hugging him, "Raphie-boy loves his momma!"

Raph glared at him and bunched a fist, "Shut up!" He snapped.

Mikey smiled uneasily and held up his hands in defense, "Hey there's nothing wrong with loving your mom!" He said before lowering his hands and getting a very somber expression. "She is your mom." He continued looking away now. "You're supposed to love her, right?"

Raph's anger left him at once as he realized Mikey wasn't talking about his mother anymore, but something else. Worried Raph walked up to him and placed a hand on his shoulder, "Mikey? Is everythin' okay?"

Mikey didn't answer right away, but then he looked at Raph and smiled, "I'll bet you even try on her dresses too."

Raph's anger came right back, "WHAT?!"

Mikey started laughing as he ran away. "I'm just kidding! Raphie-boy!"

Raph started chasing him and was about to pound him when they both stopped short hearing something. Quickly they both silenced each other then snuck around the building towards the back where they saw both Kraang and Foot soldiers unloading more boxes. The Kraang handed the Foot a brief case Raph and Mikey knew was full of money then they left before either boy could do anything.

Raph and Mikey nodded at one another and changed into their turtle forms pulling their weapons out ready to strike.

"Kraang." One said halting their movements, "The time known as soon is coming, Kraang."

"Kraang understands, Kraang. The time known as one month is coming. Our Master the one known as the One True Shredder is coming."

"Kraang is prepared."

"All that is left is the key. The one known as April O'Neil."

Raph and Mikey gasped and looked at each other. They had less time than they thought.
