Chapter 11

After waking up from a Damon-filled dream, Elena stared at the ceiling. She was up before Damon, and was next to his sleeping form on the bed. Why did I have to fall in love with him? She asked herself. What am I going to do? Well, I just have to find a way to get over this. I can't love him. He could never love me, so what's the point? She knew that people tended to like her, but love her? No, not since her parents died and she realized who her true friends were. Now it was just Jeremy, he was all she had. Nobody else loved Elena anymore. Not even Aunt Jenna, whom she thought would love and be there for her no matter what. I guess I was wrong about Jenna. Jeremy is all I have left now. Well, Jeremy and the baby.

Damon began to stir next to her, and she got out of bed to take a shower. As soon as she stood up, she felt a wave of nausea hit her. She quickly ran to Damon's en suite bathroom and emptied what little was in her stomach. As she did so, she felt someone pull her hair back and rub soothing circles on her back. She immediately knew it was Damon. He's not making this not loving him thing easy, is he? She leaned back against the wall, too tired to move much more than that.

Damon looked at her, concern clearly etched onto his face, "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, just casually emptying the contents of my stomach in a slightly painful way."

She felt bad for being bitchy towards him, but she really hated morning sickness.

"It won't last forever. The morning sickness, that is. It should go away after the first trimester," he said in a soothing voice. Damn him being amazing.

"I know, but right now, it sucks."

He continued to stay with her and try to make her feel better. She kept noticing how he was truly concerned, and how he looked amazing without a shirt.

"Alright I need to shower, so unless you feel like going first…"

"Alright I'm going. I'll make breakfast, you shower."

"Damon," she started.

"Yes, Elena?"

"Thank you, for everything you've done."

"You're welcome. Believe me, I enjoy it."

"Okay."

"Okay."

Since it was Saturday, Elena had to work a longer shift, which was fine with her. She wanted to save as much money for the baby as possible. As she was getting ready for work, she thought about the night before. Then she remembered. Stefan, Damon's brother, was home.

She rushed through finishing getting ready, and then went downstairs. She just wanted to hurry up and leave, avoiding Stefan as much as possible. Naturally, that did not happen. Damon was in the kitchen, talking to Stefan, and they both looked up when she got near them.

"Hey Elena, this is my brother Stefan."

"Hi Stefan."

"Hi Elena."

"Damon, I'm going to work now, see you later."

"Wait, let me get dressed and I'll go with you. You're early anyway."

"Okay, I just wanted to get there kind of early today."

"I'll be like 10 minutes, don't worry. Oh, and eat your breakfast!"

He ran upstairs, leaving her with Stefan and the bagel and fruit that he made for her.

They stood there in awkward silence while she ate. She wondered what Damon had told him about her. She'd ask him in the car.

"So…" Stefan said, clearly uncomfortable.

She finished her food and looked at him.

"I'll just wait in the car for Damon," she said, getting up and leaving.

She turned back when she reached the front door and called out, "Nice meeting you," figuring she should be polite since he actually lived there, and she didn't.

She texted Damon that she would be in his car waiting, since he insisted on driving whenever they took the same car. She really didn't mind, since she liked being able to let her mind wander when she was in the car, and she couldn't do that when driving. Plus, he wanted to, and he did so much for her, why shouldn't she let him drive when they took the same car. His Camaro was great, smaller than her range rover, but perfect for Damon. Honestly, she loved his car, and when he drove it, he looked so happy. She loved that look on his face.

She was lost in thoughts of Damon when he entered the car a couple minutes after she got in.

"Hey, sorry about him being home early."

"It's fine, I just wasn't expecting him. What did you tell him about me being here?"

"I told him that I would talk to you before I said anything."

"We should probably tell him, since he lives there and he's your brother."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, but you'll have to do all of the talking probably."

He chuckled, "That's fine, Elena, as long as you're okay with telling him."

"I am."

Work was long and tiring. Damon just sat there the entire time doing homework and doing stuff on his laptop, as usual. While he didn't have to accompany her everyday, she was more grateful than he knew. Elena knew that she had to be alone eventually, but since she was still in her first trimester, and really didn't need that kind of stress while pregnant, she let it go for now.

"Hey, I'll be locking up in a minute, so if you want to wait in the car I'll meet you out there."

"I'll wait until you walk out. I have to get my stuff together anyway."

"Okay."

She quickly finished cleaning and got her stuff together. Elena was tired and just wanted to go and relax.

They walked out and locked up, and then got in his car. During the drive, she remembered that Damon was going to tell Stefan about the pregnancy. She started to panic a little, and of course Damon noticed.

"What's going on in that head of yours?"

"Nothing," She said, not even convincing herself of that fact.

"Elena, come on, tell me."

"Fine," She said grudgingly.

"Well…"

"I'm just worried about what Stefan will think, how he'll react you know? Plus, we still haven't told anyone yet, and I still need to tell Caroline and Bonnie, and now Stefan will know before them, and I'm Just stressing out about it."

"Simple, kind of. Invite them over so we can tell them all at the same time."

"Really?"

"Yeah, that way nobody knows first, and you can have your friends again."

"Okay, but I still need you to do the talking."

"Deal," he said with a laugh.

She texted Caroline and Bonnie to meet her at Damon's and immediately got a reply saying that they'd be there. I guess there's no backing out now, she thought.

A few minutes later, they pulled up at Damon's. Caroline texted that they were 10 minutes away.

They went inside and waited in the living room, waiting for Caroline and Bonnie to show up so that they could tell everyone at the same time. Damon spent the whole time trying to calm down Elena and reassure her that everything would be okay.

"Well, here goes nothing," said Elena when she saw Caroline's car pull up.

HEY GUYS SORRY FOR THE WAIT. I'M WORKING ON THE NEXT CHAPTER NOW. TELL ME IF YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS, OR IF YOU WANT ANYTHING TO HAPPEN. MAYBE I'll INCLUDE IT.
