Natsu, Ash, Sting, Happy, Lector, and Pikachu needed to take a train to go to the town that needed help. Of course, Sting and Natsu tried to get out of it. "Can't we just walk there?" Natsu complains. "Sure, if we want to get there next week." Ash says.
"I don't care I'm walking either way." Sting says. "Come on Sting. I would walk with you but I'm just saying man up!" Lester says. "Wait, I think I have an idea! Luna and Mitchell were teaching me a magic that might help motion sickness." Ash says.
"Oh right, I forgot there was a magic that can do that! Is it like Wendy's magic?" Natsu asks. Ash puts his hands together and says "Sort of. Now I need both of your heads near my hands for this to work." Ash sticks out his palms and Sting and Natsu and they both stare into them. "Okay what next?"
All of a sudden a green light appeared out of Ash's hands and Sting and Natsu just fall over. "Ash… What did you do?" Happy asks.
"Relax, I only knocked them out." Ash says smiling. He looks down at them and kicks Natsu in the face to see if he reacts. "I think." He said. Lector and Happy look worriedly at their dragon slayers. When both snore loudly though, everyone calms down. "All right now help me carry them on the train."
Happy and Lector grow their wings and carry Sting by his arms onto the train while Ash fireman carries Natsu onto the train. They find a place where all of them can sit and they set the dragon slayers down. Ash sits next to Natsu and sighs. "When was he so heavy?" Ash says out loud.
"I don't know but he isn't as heavy as Lucy." Happy says. Everyone laughs and then the train starts to go. Sting and Natsu woke up around fifteen minutes later and spent half the time on the train arguing who gets to puke out the window.
About an hour later everyone gets off the bus in a town called Gravina. There doesn't seem to be any large pokémon nearby. "All right the map here says the town hall is on top of that hill." Sting says looking at a local map.
Everyone looks at the top of the hill and sees a big building. "You know, why do people always have to put the main building of a town either in the middle of it or on top of some crazy hill?" Natsu says.
"I don't know. But anyway let's just get there." Ash says. Everyone sighs and start heading up to the hill. They reach the middle of town which is a market. "Do we have enough supplies? I mean you guys might want to grab some pokeballs in case you want to catch pokémon." Ash says. He dropped the bag of pokéballs back in the underworld where they fought Kano so the guild didn't have any.
"Oh yeah you're right. I think I might have enough to buy some food as well!" Natsu says excitedly. Ash gets a sweat drop. "Is food the only thing on your mind?" He says.
"Like you're any different." Happy says. "True." Ash says. Just then everyone's stomach grumbled.
"Okay yeah food first, and then pokeballs, then we do the job." Sting said. "Agreed." Everyone else said. They walked around the market and found a Burger stall. They ordered from there and sat down at a table. Everyone ate literally less than two minutes. Except Ash.
"Man that was good!" Natsu said. Ash just kind of stared at them when they choked down there food. "You guys are animals you know that?" Ash said. Sting and Natsu laughed.
"Yeah we are." Sting says. After Ash got done eating they all started walking towards the pokéball stall. Until a familiar voice calls out.
"Hey! Ashey-boy!" Ash turns around and sees his old friend and rival, Gary. "No way. Gary Oak!" Ash says they walk up to each other. The slap their hands together and pull each other in for a shoulder bump.
"I haven't seen you since Sinnoh. How've you been?" Ash asks. Natsu, Happy, Sting, and Lector all looked at Ash's friend. He didn't seem like much. But they can tell Ash had respect for him.
"Well great until that weird storm happened. Seriously no clouds in the sky but lightning pouring down. I thought it was a legendary pokémon doing the work. But I got a quick question. How did you get…older? I mean I was able to recognize you since you still look like yourself, but I thought I was mistaken." Gary explains.
Ash scratched the back of his head. "Well, do you know about magic?" Ash asks.
Gary, to Ash's surprise, nodded. "Yeah, we took in a guy who seemed to have been passed out in the forest nearby. When he woke up he was saying he was hanging out with his guild mates when they were sucked in by something. Then he was rambling on about magic and how he was an ice mage. At first we didn't believe him. We thought he was just some lunatic. But when he showed us his power, we couldn't believe it.
"We studied him as we tried to help looking for his friends, eventually we were given a full explanation from the news. One thing led to another and well… I got ice magic!" Gary says. He puts a fist in his other hand and a light blue aura comes from inside his hand. He opens it up and reveals a small ice sculptor of a charizard.
"Cool. I got magic too." Ash says. He was about to explain about his magic but then he remembered something Luna said. 'Don't tell everyone about demonic magic. They will be scared and/or hurt you for it. Use only one magic type.'
"Really? What kind of Magic?" Gary asks. Ash clears his throat.
"I uh… have transformation magic." Ash blurted out.
"Really? Can I see?" Gary asked. Ash nods. He tries to remember what Mirajane, Elfman, and Lisanna told him. Imagine the person's image, concentrate and then…
Poof
Ash opens his eyes and looks at Gary. He has a shocked expression on his face. "So, do I look like Professor Oak?" Ash asked. He decided to do someone they both knew well.
"Aside from clothes yeah. It's like looking at my Grandfather in the flesh." Gary says. Ash smiles and then turns back into himself. "So what are you guys doing here anyway?" Gary asked.
"We're on a job. Apparently somethings going on in this town that they need a few wizards to help out." Natsu answers.
"Really? That's the reason I'm here." Gary says. "I needed some money and when wizard jobs were available I thought it would be a good idea to do this job. Give myself some training. Besides, Grandpa wanted me to come here for research anyway. Something about mega evolution?" Gary rants on.
"Well if you want to learn more about mega evolution you should go to Professor Sycamore in Lumiose City. He's been studying that for a while now." Ash explains.
"So are you guys going to talk like old ladies all day or are we going to get our pokeballs?" Natsu says.
"Ah right I forgot. But first let me introduce you to an old friend." Ash says to Natsu. "Natsu, this is my childhood friend slash rival, Gary Oak." Ash motions to his friend. "Gary, this is my guildmate and friend, Natsu Dragneel. And his cat Happy." Ash says motioning to his friends.
"I'm an exceed, not a cat!" Happy says.
"You're a cat with wings: Therefore, a cat." Ash says.
Lector looks over to Happy. "Just accept it. We are cats with wings after all." Lector said. Happy has the typical anime tears streaming down his eyes.
"I guess so." He says.
"Wait guildmate? You joined a guild already?!" Gary asks stunned. Ash looks over and nods. He lifts his arm to show the mark. "Well I'll be damned, Ash Ketchum beat me at something." Ash gets a tick mark.
"Yeah yeah laugh it up asshole. Anyway, this is Sting and His Exceed Lector. They are part of the Sabertooth guild. Kind of like a rival and allied guild with Fairy Tail, the one I am in." Ash says. Happy starts yelling and punching ash in the leg.
"WHY DOES HE GET TO BE CALLED AN EXCEED!" Happy screamed. Everyone just laughed and Happy gave up after a little bit.
"Anyway, since we're all doing the job, want to go together?" Gary asks.
"Nah, I got to buy pokeballs for these guys, since I gave classes about pokemon to the guild. You know, they might want to have pokemon." Ash explains. Gary looks at the vendor, then back at Ash.
"Tell you what, I'll pay for three pokeballs for both Sting and Natsu?" Gary says. Ash looks at him weirdly. He knows this isn't going to be free.
"What do I have to do to make it up?" Ash says. Gary Snickers.
"You'll see… eventually." Gary says. Ash squints his eyes at him but then he feels Natsu wrap an arm around his neck.
"Come on Ash cheer up! It's free pokeballs!" Natsu exclaims.
"Yeah, I guess." Ash says. Ash knows Gary's humbled up over the years but he was still that mischievous little kid inside. He knows because Ash is still that happy go lucky idiot ever since they met. They go to the vendor, Gary pays, and they all head up to the mansion. Along the way Natsu and Sting kept asking questions about pokémon and Ash and Gary tried to answer them as best as they could. After about fifteen minutes they finally reached the mansion.
The front door was huge. Then again the mansion was huge so it would make sense. Ash rang the doorbell and they heard the ding-dong of the house. When no one came Ash was about to do it again but Natsu grabbed his arm. "They won't be able to hear you. You got be a little more forceful. Like this." Natsu says. He then starts knocking on the door. Really hard. In fact it even started getting cracks on the wood.
"Natsu," Gary tries to say. "Maybe you should-" He is cut off by Sting punching Natsu.
"You idiot! If you break that door it will come out of our pay!" Sting yells. Natsu gets up and headbutts Sting. Sting then grabs Natsu and they both start brawling. Gary gets a sweat drop as they fight on the stairs.
"Should we try to stop them?" Gary asks. Ash just places his hands on the back of his head.
"You really want to try and break up that fight?" Ash asks.
"Fair point." Gary says and they just let the two dragon slayers fight. And then Gary had a question. "oh yeah, what kind of magic does Natsu and Sting have?" Gary asks.
"They have something called Dragon Slayer magic, you see-" Just as Ash was about what little he knew about Dragon Slayers, the mansion doors open. Sting and Natsu stop fighting but still have each other in a hold. Standing at the door is a slightly old man wearing a tuxedo.
"May I help you?" The man asks.
"We're here about your town's problem." Ash says.
"You posted it on job boards ever since people started getting magic." Gary says.
The old man claps his hands and smiles. "Thank you! I'll let the mayor know. Please come in. I'll show you to our guest room." The man says. They follow him into a room with a couch. He motions them to sit down. "Please wait while I get the Mayor." He says. He leaves and the group just relax for a little bit.
"So what kind of mission do you guys think it will be?" Ash asks.
"Defeat a giant pokémon maybe?" Gary says.
"Nah probably a bunch of bandits." Sting says.
"Or Maybe it's bandits controlling giant pokémon!" Natsu says.
"If that's the case why are you so happy?' Ash asks. Natsu looks at him weirdly. "That's one of my biggest nightmare, and something that pisses me off most of all. Controlling pokémon for self gain and pleasure…" Ash makes a fist.
Just then they Mayor and the old man came in. they all assumed he was the butler or assistant. "Ah thank you thank you! But before we begin I must see the papers." The mayor says. They had to give the job papers that they collected at the hub. All of them take out their papers and hand it to the Mayor. He checks the papers, and then they get down to business.
"So what is causing you to make a job request?" Gary asks.
"Pokémon have been going…rabid." The mayor says. "And it seems to only happen at night. At first it was just trashing the town. You know kicking garbage cans, breaking lights, stuff we thought was just wild pokémon, just in bigger numbers." The mayor says.
"But things escalated." The butler said. "They started breaking into people's houses and destroying furniture, attacking citizens, and overall being a pain." The butler finishes.
"Pokémon don't go rabid for no reason." Ash and Gary say at the same time. They both look at each other and squint. Sting and Natsu know that look all too well: The look of rivals.
"Anyway," Ash says looking away. "What do you think is causing them to go rabid?" Ash asked. The mayor shook his head.
"I don't know and I don't care." The mayor said. Ash looked at him weirdly. He felt like the mayor was going to say something Ash wouldn't like. "All I want is the rabid pokémon out of my town. By any means necessary."
Both Ash's and Gary's eyes go wide at that statement. "Don't worry, we'll take care of this quickly." Natsu says.
"Is there a cave or anywhere that the pokémon seem to come from?" Sting asks. The mayor shook his head. "I see," Sting stands up and stretches. "Then we'll just get rid of them when they come in the night."
Ash was about to reject to that statement but the Mayor clapped with Joy. "Yes thank you thank you!" The mayor said gleefully. "Please let me know when you have finished and if you need anything." He gets off the couch and walks off. "If you will excuse me I need to get back to work." He says and leaves. The butler then shows them back outside.
"Like the Mayor said, once you have finished come back here." The butler says. he closes the door and the group stands outside on the stairs.
"Well, since we don't have to do anything for a while, why do ya say we grab a bite to eat?" Natsu asks. Sting was agreeing with him as well as their exceeds. However, Gary and Ash had dark looks on their faces and are clenching their fists. And then, Gary suddenly yells at the two of them.
"ARE YOU TWO IDIOTS?!" Gary screamed at them. Sting and Natsu stop in their tracks and looks at Gary. "Defeating the pokémon won't solve anything! If we make them feint they can come back and terrorize the place more!"
"And if they truly are rabid capturing them will be a hassle for everyone!" Ash adds. Natsu and Sting could see how much they loved these creatures. They both sighed. Natsu then goes up to both of them.
"Then what do you suggest we do?" He asks. Both of them calm down after a little bit.
"Like we said, Pokémon don't go rabid for no reason." Gary says.
"So that means someone is either controlling them, on their turf, or has been bugging them in some way." Ash explains.
This next part both Gary and Ash say it together. "So that means the only way to help them is to find the source." Natsu and Sting did a little thinking. Eventually they did a little thinking and agreed to it.
"All right, but since we do have a little bit of time, why don't we get you guys your pokémon?" Ash says. Natsu and Sting nods their heads. All of them start heading into the nearby woods to hopefully find some Pokémon to catch
"Man I'm fired up now!" Natsu says as they eneter.

A/N: Well hiatus is over for a little bit. Like I keep saying I'm sorry I'm not posting as much and I know this chapter is really lacking, but please bear with it as I am trying to get my dead fanfictions up again. I promise that the next chapter will be filled with action. But since the pokémon show is so far up ahead I might do a time skip after a few more chapters. Make it a little easier on myself.
