Chapter: 9
Hey guys I'm back! Sorry it took me a while to post but my grandfather was recently diagnosed with lung cancer and it's been pretty rough...but I can't keep on being depressed so I decided to write ^-^ Hope you like this chapter! Reviewing and Favoriting is appreciated~ ^-^
Opening my eyes, I blinked a few times before I opened them completely.
Ugh…its morning already….IT'S MORNING!
Quickly sitting upright I swung my feet over the bed and stood up. Today is Eren's court case and I want to see him before it happens.
I hope he's still there! I mean I still have to make it all the way down there! The basement (or more like a dungeon) he's in is right below the courthouse.
Rummaging through wardrobe, I threw on my usual V neck T shirt and put on my white slacks.
Eh I'll put on my harness later, I don't have time.
Slipping on my shoes I walked near the door and opened it.
Heh usually Roy wakes me up about now but I guess he wanted me to sleep in….heh sorry Roy my internal clock woke me up anyways~.

Finally making my way down to the dungeon, I rushed down the torch lit hallways. Before I turned the corner I hear Eren ask one of the guards.
"I'm sorry but I need to use the restroom."
"You just went."
By now I had turned the corner and I saw Eren turned and asked the other guard, "Please, can I have some water?"
"Oi….know your place, monster."
"HEY!" I said strutting down the hallway, "I think you should know your place! That kid saved our butt's by plugging up that hole in the wall and getting him some water isn't going to make him turn into a titan AND BLOW UP THE BUILDING," I growled giving him a death glare.
He was about to retort but I cut him off, "If your too lazy to get it don't fret your pretty fingers, I'll get it."
The guard snorted at me and lowed himself down so we were eye level.
"And who do you think you are?" he said with his voice rising.
"I think I'm the person that actually fights the titans, actually attempting to save humanity, and doesn't lounge in the inner walls eating fruit cakes."
Glaring at me he opened his mouth to yell but was yet again silenced.
"Catori! HEY HOW YA DOIN'?" Hanji yelled out towards me.
"Oh ya know talkin'~," I said as Hanji tackled me in a hug.
"Man you really scared me there! I thought you were gone! Don't ever do that to me again you hear!" She exclaimed shaking my shoulders tears pricking her eyes.
"Ok OK! I'm sorry!"
"You better be! I was searching for you all night," she stated pulling away and putting her hands on her hips.
Her eyes then wandered over to Eren's direction and as soon as they widened…
BANG
Clutching onto the bars of Eren's cell, Hanji had made a resonating bang by throwing herself forward with such force. It was like she was trying to squeeze through the bars. Eren whimpered and flinched back at Hanjis actions. Sighing I looked over to one of the guards.
"You getting him water or what?"
Shooting a glare at me he walked off.
Personally I really don't think his intentions were to listen to me, it was more like "Holy crap I can't stand her and just want to get away so she CAN SHUT UP."
"So you're Eren, huh?" I heard Hanji's kind voice say.
Glancing over I saw she was wearing a smile.
Knew she would get out of that trance eventually…..poor Eren…she's gunna want to do experiments…
"Are you well? How are things? I'm really sorry you've been waiting so long. But, he anyways, it seems your finally getting out of here!" Hanji said not waiting for Eren to answer any of her questions.
"What do you mean he's getting out?" I questioned knowing very well that there was still a court case involved before he was to be released.
"Weellll~ he'll have to put these on," Hanji said looking over at me and then back to Eren hold out some cuffs through the bars, "Ok?"
Nodding his head he reluctantly put on the cuffs after we let out of the cell and OH look just in time water boy is back.
"Thank you~," I said grabbing the cup from his hands.
"Ooooh crap you already have the cuffs on your hands. Do you still want the water?" I questioned lifting the glass.
"Uh-um no, that's alright," Eren said shrugging with a smile.
"No, no, no. If you really want it I can give it to you," I dismissed waving my hand.
"No really it's-"
"Just drink it," I stated bring the cup to his lips, "the last think I need is for you to get dehydrated."
Practically swigging down more than half the glass he came up for air clearing his throat.
"Better?" I asked cocking my head to the side.
"Yeah, thanks," he said looking a bit embarrassed.
"Alrighty then let's get out of this basement," Hanji chimed motioning for us to make our way out.
After a few hallways and some stairs we had made our way to the surface. Walking down a much brighter hallway I squinted as the sun's light shinned from up above, since it was a grate ceiling. And we ended up meeting up with Mike…
Hope you like getting sniffed Eren~.
"As you may have already heard, I'm Hanji Zoe, a squad commander of the survey crops just like Catori."
"And that there is Mike," I said pointing at Mike who at the time was sniffing Eren.
"He's another squad commander and yes the sniffing is normal for him.
"U-um," Eren said flinching back.
"It's ok, don't worry, he does that to everyone, well people that he's just met anyways….and then afterwards he smirks so don't get too freaked out. Either way he's good enough to be a squad leader."
Glancing up ahead I saw the wooden doors that I knew led to the court room.
Wait are they just gunna throw him in there?! I mean they didn't prepare him or tell him ANYTHING!
"OH poo! I didn't realize with all this chit-chat that we're already here!" Hanji said as he neared the doors.
Standing in front of them I could see the fear in Eren's eyes.
"Well I'm sure it's fine. It's probably better if I don't explain anything."
"Um maybe we should give him a piece of advice," I said looking up at Hanji raising an eyebrow.
"Hmmmm naw he's ok. Erwin has it all under control," she stated opening the doors.
The guards then grabbed Eren by his shoulders and started to lead him inside.
"Wait!"
"Sorry Eren, but remember we have put all our faith in you Eren. Best of Luck," Hanji said grasping the handles of the doors about to close them.
Putting my arm out, I prevented the door from closing by pushing it back.
"Whatever happens Eren don't worry. I'm gunna make sure you're gunna be ok," I said in a deep serious tone.
"Ok," he muttered out with uncertainty as the doors were close shut.
Turning towards Hanji I gave her a glare.
"Why didn't anyone wake me up?! I could have slept through Eren's case!"
Letting out a sigh I softened my expression knowing it wasn't her fault.
"So how am I getting in there?"
"Weeeellll they-"
"OH NO. They told you to keep me out didn't they?...Didn't THEY?!"
"Well they didn't exactly use those words in that particular order but ya know it's gunna be all ok; nothing to worry about~."
"Of course there's something to worry about! EREN! THAT'S WHAT!"
"Why are you all worked up I mean you barely know the kid."
"Just because I don't know him doesn't me I don't care Hanji," I spat out walking away.
"HEY WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING!?"
"I'm getting in that's what!"
"Wait Catori!"
Crap how am I supposed to get in now when they probably already started?...WAIT THERE'S THAT BALCONEY THING IN THE COURT ROOM RIGHT?
That was my only chance.
"CATORI!"
Hanji then got a hold on my waist.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" I exclaimed wriggling around, actually surprised by her actions.
"IT'S OK! There's no need to ugh-OW, Catori that hurt-but it's fine Erwin has it-"
"HOW THEN?! How does he have this under control?!" I spat out finally getting out of her grasp.
She was silent.
"YOU AREN'T TELLING ME FOR A REASON. THERE'S A REASON WHY. WHAT ARE THEY PLANNING TO DO?"
She seemed to be contemplating of what to say next. Wanting to make sure whatever she said would answer my question but not reveal the whole truth.
"Don't worry. Eren's gunna live. There's nothing to-"
"OH my gosh….you're too scared to tell me…" I said with my eyes widening thinking of the worst case scenario.
"CATORI CALM DOWN! It's just I don't want you running in there doing something-"
"What? Stupid?...you sound like Levi….UGH I'm so sick of you guys treating me like I'm a little kid; that I can't handle knowing what's going on AND not even bothering to talk about with me either!"
Rubbing my temples I tried to calm down. Being younger had nothing to do with this. It was about me not wanting what was about to happen, happen…and Levi knew it, that's why he wanted me to wait outside. And now here I was blowing up about suppressed anger I've been holding in that had nothing to do with this. BUT either way I was getting in there. No matter what anyone did or said.
Taking on last sigh I started to walk off.
"Catori come on, don't you trust me?" Hanji whined walking after me.
"I do. I just don't trust Levi."
"Ugggghhh….why must you be so difficult…"
So a good five minutes later of avoiding Haji's pleads and finally finding my way up to the balcony, since the other entry ways were probably blocked off to me, I finally go inside…and things…..already seem to be getting intense.
"If you're afraid to fight for your own survival, FINE, let me do it!"
Walking up the edge of the balcony I saw Eren was chained to a post in attached to the floor.
"You….YOU COWARDS!" Eren bellowed out.
I felt Hanji grab my arm and pull me back I refused to budge.
"Just shut up…AND PUT ALL YOUR FAITH IN ME!"
There was a small pause of silence until a military police man shouted out.
"TAKE AIM!"
"Uh, yes sir!" his subordinate exclaimed aiming his gun straight at Eren.
Before I could even react Eren was…kicked?!
WHAT IN THE WORLD DOES HE THINK HE'S DOING!?
"Catori come on!" Hanji said in a high whisper, pulling at me with all her might now.
Still glued to where I was, I watched in utter shock as I saw Eren's tooth fly out, clicking on the marble floor.
My nails dug into the railing as my rage caused my blood to boil.
He hit him again, and again, and again, AND AGAIN.
There is no way I'm just going to stand here and watch this! Levi is so-
"Catori don't! Don't go down there and make a scene! It might cost Eren his life!" Hanji pleaded, still whispering.
"SO what am I supposed to do just watch!?" I counted back as I continued to hear Eren's assault.
I couldn't help but cringe and whimper as I heard Eren gasp for air. My nails dug even harder into the wood as I saw Levi put his foot on top of Eren's head. It was sickening to watch.
"Personally, I believe nothing instills discipline like pain. What you need is to be trained like a dog, not a man."
I swear his head is mine.
"It's easier to kick you while you're kneeling too."
He continued to throw another series of kicks and I'm sure that the railing I was holding onto was fully scratched by now.
I wasn't sure what to do.
Should I go down and stop this?...or is Hanji right?...would that just make our chances worse at keeping him?
"Wait, Levi…" the same military soldier who told them to take aim said.
"What is it?" Levi replied with his foot on Eren's face, not looking amused.
"It's dangerous. What if it gets angry and turns into a titan?"
Levi kicked him one final time and said, "What? Aren't you just going to dissect him?...During the time he was transformed, they said that Jaeger killed 20 titans before he collapsed. As an enemy his intelligence makes him all the more dangerous. Still no match for me of course. But what will you do?...Are any of you actually able to kill him?"
Just then Erwin spoke up.
"Sir, I have a proposal."
"Proceed."
"The details of Eren's power still remain uncertain. Making it dangerous. I suggest to have Eren put under squad leader Levi's supervision and we'll conduct a recon mission outside the walls."
"Eren will be joining you?"
"Yes sir. And you can look upon the mission's results yourself and if he successfully controls his ability, Eren will have proven his value to humanity."
"Eren Jaeger will be closely supervised? And if he should lose control?"
"I'm certain that I can kill him. The only problem is I doubt I can do any less."
"Then my decision is made….Eren is to be handed over to the survey corps.
******line break*****
"Catori! Wait up!"
Right after the court case I went straight for the little man. I knew where they would be because I forced Hanji to tell me, so it was only a matter of time before I found them. Making my way down the hallway I swung open the door.
"WHAT THE HECK DID YOU THINK YOU WHERE-oh sorry…heh wrong door…" I said with a weak smile as I saw two random military police lounging with their cups of coffee.
Slowly closing the door, I gave Hanji a glare.
"You said it was the third door on the left!"
"Maybe it was the fifth," she said putting a hand up to her chin, "I always get those mixed up."
Letting out a groan I walked another two doors down and finally swung open the right door.
"WHAT WAS THAT?!" I exclaimed barging in.
"What was what?"
"You know exactly what I'm talking about," I growled, "There was no reason to go that far!"
"Catori," Erwin said trying to calm me down.
Ignoring his plead I continued my rant, "YOU KICKED OUT HIS TOOTH!"
"I did it so we would have him. That way he wasn't given to those-"
"OH NO! Don't you give me that crap. WE need to talk."
Grabbing his wrist I started dragging him off, "THERE WAS NO REASON TO KICK OUT HIS TOOTH AND TO CONTINUALLY KICK HIM THAT MUCH-I MEAN I KNEW YOU WHERE A SADIST BUT REALLY YOU-"
My voice was cut off as I slammed the door behind us. While I chewed Levi out, Hanji took care of Eren and gave him an icepack. After a good five minutes, and a smack that echoed through the hallways, I came back into the room with my arms crossed and a visible hand mark on Levi's face.
Passing by Erwin he mumbled, "I just took it so she would shut up."
"I heard that," I said sitting down next to Eren, "and you only got that because of what you said."
"Yes and I meant every word of it."
"I hope that hand mark stays."
"It will still looks better than your own face does brat."
"Do you want one of the other side to match-"
"HEY~! How about no more arguing, huh? I think that's a good suggestion," Hanji chimed, "So as I was saying, does it hurt?"
WELL DUH
"Yeah," Eren said holding up an ice pack to his face.
Awww poor thing….
"Really? Describe it to me."
Yup that's Hanji for you.
"Sorry for all that Eren, but thanks to that you've been handed over to us," Erwin stated finally speaking up.
"No I understand," Eren replied.
"I can assure you the pain you endured was worth it. We played our trump card at the perfect time."
Kneeling down in front of Eren, Erwin offered his hand.
"You have my respect. I look forward to working with you Eren."
Eren's eyes widened and gratefully took Erwin's hand.
"Yes sir! Thank you!"
Levi then plopped down on the other side of Eren, making him flinch.
"Hey Eren?"
"Yes sir?"
"Do you resent me?"
"N-no I understand why what you did was necessary."
"Good then," Levi purred looking back to me.
Narrowing my eyes I stated with great annoyance, "Don't give me that look. I mean look at him, he flinched at you."
"Yeah I mean you did take it a little too far. You knocked his tooth out," Hanji said unraveling a handkerchief that contained Eren's tooth.
"Neat, huh?"
Rolling his eyes Levi looked down at Hanji, "Don't pick that up…it's creepy."
"Hey it's a good sample," she continued, showing it to Eren.
"But hey, it's still better than having people like her dissect you."
"I'm not like them. I wouldn't dream of killing him. OH and hey Eren let me take a look inside that mouth of yours!"
Eren then opened his really wide and let Hanji take a look inside. Kneeling down I took a peak in too. I wanted to see how bad the damage in his mouth was. I'm pretty good with natural remedies so I wanted to get an idea of what I could possibly get for him. And what I saw surprised both Hanji and I.
"Is it?..."
"Yeah…" she said gasping as well.
"Eren," I exhaled looking up at him.
"Yeah?"
"Your tooth…it grew back."
Sooooo what do you think~? Of course I had to make Catori mad at Levi for hurting Eren. There was no way she was not going to say anything XD. So yeah that's about it~ And as always any comments or suggestions are always welcome! C U in the next update!
