Chapter 13:
Yeaaaah sorry it took so long to update~ School, migraines, and cosplay can take it's toll XD. But anywho~ onto the next chapter! I'll also be updating my Free! fanfic as well so if you got nothing else to do fell free to check that out~ (That was such a terrible pun XD). Oh and I apologize for any grammar mistakes~. Sooo onto the story! Reviewing and favoriting is appreciated! ^-^
"Mikasa! Armin!"
After calling out his friends names they came to a stop.
"Eren!" the dark haired girl called back out as we jogged up.
"It feels like it's been forever!" Eren said as we reached them.
"Eren did they do anything bad to you? Have they put you through any cruel experiments or mental anguish?" the girl exclaimed grabbing his hands.
Mental Anguish?
"No nothing like that."
At his response her face got darker, "That shorty went way too far. I'll make sure I'll—"
"Don't worry 'bout it I gotcha' covered~," I chimed adding into the conversation.
"Huh?" she mumbled taking a glance at me
She probably didn't even notice I was there.
"Oh yeah, I'm going to be giving him hell for the year. More than usual that is. I already stole his lucky cravat this morning. He should be realizing it's gone soon enough~. Believe me, there's no way I'm letting him off the hook after what he did."
"Are you guys talking about Lance Cor—"
"Hun bun? Yup~."
Looking past who I assumed to be Armin and Mikasa, I saw a few more people that seemed to know Eren as well.
"Hey Eren."
"It's been a while!"
"Wow, you're all here?!" Eren said astonished to see everyone.
There were two tall boys in the back and a small blonde girl, an averaged height brunet girl, and a bald boy in the front (well it was more of a buzz cut but that's a pretty close buzz cut if you ask me).
"But…Are you guys here because…Don't tell me you're enlisted?" Eren said with wide eyes.
"Why else would we be here," the bald one replied.
"So Jean, Annie, and Marco decided to go to the Military Police?"
"Did you say Jean and Marco?" I cut in.
"Yeah," Eren said turning towards me.
"I know those two! Nice boys. Came all the way to my room to check on me. One has freckles and the other's two toned correct?"
"Yeah, but what do you mean—"
"Squad leader Catori!" a familiar voice called out.
Turning around I saw Marco running up followed by Jean.
"She's a squad leader?" I heard someone mumble from behind me…pretty sure it was the big muscley blonde one.
"Hey what did I say about calling me that?!" I said back to Marco.
"S-sorry it's just weird calling you Catori," he said rubbing the back of his neck.
"As I said, no need for formalities~. Me and you went through the wringer," I replied playfully punching his shoulder.
"But anyways it's good to see you! I can't believe you decided to join the survey corps!"
"We said we would, didn't we?" Jean replied.
"That you did."
"How do you know Catori?" Eren questioned standing beside me.
"So when did you two get so close? Even I can't call her just by her first name yet," Jean said with a smirk.
"Huh? What do you mean you can't call me by my first name? OOOOH yeah I remember now," I giggled remembering the joke I made.
"What?" Eren asked turning towards me.
"Eh it's a joke I make when they visited me—something along the lines of 'you on the other hand will have to get a bit closer to me if you want to call me that' or something like that."
Looking back over to Jean I said, "But as I said I was just joking. Calling me Catori is just fine."
"So what do you mean you and Marco went through the wringer?" Armin asked.
"Well to save a bunch of time and get right around to the point, I saved him from a titan when the titans breached the walls and then he saved me. Without him getting my sister I wouldn't be here," I smiled placing a hand on his shoulder.
"H-hey without you I wouldn't be here either."
"True true~."
"Oi, Catori!"
Glancing up ahead I saw Levi with a very unamused expression.
"Stop flirting with the new cadets and help pass out the new uniforms."
Rolling my eyes, I took my hand of Marco's shoulder.
"What?" I said walking up towards him and passing him, "Jealous hun bun?"
"Pass out the uniforms brat. And I want an explanation to where my cravat is when it's done."
"I have no idea what you're talking about~."
*****line break*****
"Do not make me repeat myself. Where is it?"
"I still have no idea what you're talking about,~" I cooed as Hanji and I sipped our tea in the dining hall.
Narrowing his eyes, he lowered his head near mine.
"When I do find out it was you and what you did with it, you'll be swamped with paper work not to mention making sure my office is spotless, brat."
As he strode away, Hanji had to stifle a laugh, but it all broke loose once she was sure he was out of ear shot.
"BAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh my gosh I can't believe he didn't notice!" she laughed pointing at my head.
"I know right?!" I said untying the cravat from my hair.
Once I stole it I thought the best place to hide it was the least expected place: tying up my hair. Of course his cravat was not enough to hold my very long hair, so I had to tie it with my usual hair tie and then tie it around that.
"Pretty clever if you ask me," A deep voice resonated front beside me.
Hanji and I quickly glanced over and saw Erwin took a seat next to us.
"Uhhhh…."
"To be honest I think you really got him this time," he chuckled taking a swig of his mug.
"Soooooo that means?..." I questioned raising an eyebrow.
"As usual I didn't see and know nothing."
"Awesome," I said holding my fist up, taking a swing of my own drink.
Erwin fist bumped me back as we all just relaxed wondering how long Levi will look for his beloved cravat.
"I wonder when he'll realize it?" Hanji questioned.
"I don't know," I replied.
Swishing around his mug, Erwin said, "I'd say around, hmmmm, maybe 5 hours."
"Eh, I think a day," I said.
With a big smirk on her face Hanji set down her mug, "Guys."
"Huh?"
"What if he doesn't?" she continued with her smile becoming more devious.
"That would be fantastic," I said kicking my legs up.
"I highly doubt it, but it would be hysterical," Erwin added in.
******line break******
Plopping on my bed I let out a nervous sigh. Tomorrows the expedition….but at least today I can get a good night's sleep. It's not like I ever go to bed early anyways, but the times I was just really tired and needed some sleep, Jean and Marco came and then Eren!
Letting out a yawn I threw off my clothes and put on my long night shirt.
Hopefully Roy took my advice and went to bed.
Getting under the covers I was about to turn off the light, but then the door flew open.
"CATORI!"
HOLY CRAP WHAT THE FLIP IS IT NOW!?
"Kiwi what do you want?" I groaned.
"I saw a goddess!" she said overdramatically.
"What the crap are you even talking about?"
"Oh my gosh there he is!" Kiwi exclaimed running up and pointing out the window.
"Wha—"
"Look!"
Letting out multiple groans I got up and peaked out the window.
"Oh that's Armin. Eren's friend. And what do you mean by goddess?" I questioned getting back into bed.
"YOU KNOW HIM!? Can you introduce me?"
"I don't really know him, he just knows Eren and I know Eren."
"Oh well maybe tomorrow—"
"The expedition's tomorrow."
"Oh…well—"
I heard the door open once again and heard an all too familiar voice.
"Catori?"
"UGHHHHH," I exasperated throwing a pillow over my head.
"Roy?" I questioned with slight annoyance.
"Hmm?" he said slightly nervous.
"See her to bed."
"Uh yes, Catori….come on Kiwi."
With a sigh Kiwi followed Roy, "Fine."
"Goodnight Catori," Roy said walking out the door.
"'night Roy…."
"Are you sure you don't need—"
"Go to bed Roy…."
"Yes squad Leader," Roy squeaked finally shutting my door.
Not a few minutes later my door burst open again.
"Ahem, you forgot," I heard Kiwi say.
Turning on the light and looking up at her, I saw she was pointing to her forehead.
"Listen if you wanna kiss you're gunna have to come down here…"
"Okay~."
She leaned down and I gave a kiss to her head and she gave a kiss on mine.
"Kiwi why did you—" Roy said out of breath from running.
He then entered the room and realized why.
"Oh right, well we should probably go now. You're sister's tired," he said with a warm smile.
"Uh-bup-bup-bup, I need one from you too Roy!" she said snapping her finger that was pointed at her head.
"Kiwi, that's—"
"Please~. You've done it before."
"Yeah but—"
"It's my good luck thing for tomorrow," she insisted with cute innocent eyes.
She got you now Roy.
"Oh come on Roy, don't act like you're being a pedo. She's just like your little sister," I groaned just wanting to go to bed.
Letting out a sigh he rubbed the back of his neck, "Alright fine."
After putting a quick kiss on her head she raised her hands in the air.
"Yay! Ok I'm ready for bed now~. Goodnight Catori~."
"Good night Catori," Roy said.
"Yes goodnight to you all, and if you come into my room again, you won't have legs to walk on tomorrow!"
"Sorry goodnight!"
Roy quickly ran over and turned off the lamp and then grabbed Kiwi and exited the door.
I swear if anyone comes into my room again, they're not gunna see the light of day tomorrow.
*****line break*****
"So you ready?" I sighed looking over at Kiwi.
"Yes, I'm ready."
"Stay close ok?"
"Yeah, yeah~ I know~. And if you're not there stay close to Roy~. I KNOW. But I can handle myself."
"Just want to make sure you're ok. You worry me."
"Well don't worry~."
"Easier said than done," I groaned looking up at the sky.
We were now about to go on the 57th expedition with the new recruits. My heart was pounding, scared that the faces I just saw yesterday would be lost today. I have to make sure they come back. Otherwise me being here is worth nothing. My purpose, my objective, my intent….is to protect.
"What about you?"
"Huh?" I said, brought from my thoughts, looking over to Roy.
"You ready?"
"I'm always ready."
"GATE OPENS IN THRITY SECONDS!"
Tightening my grip on the reins I looked back at Eren. He seemed alright and actually quite determined.
That's what I expected.
"It's time! In mere moments mankind will advance one again!" a soldier yelled from behind.
"Show us what you're made of!"
Everyone then cheered raising their swords.
"OPEN THE GATE!"
The huge stone gate upfront then started to rise from the ground.
This is it. Just another expedition. You can do this.
"FORWARD!" Erwin bellowed.
We all then moved out passed the gate. The sound of hooves against the ground and the battle cries of comrades filled the air.
"We now begin the 57th expedition! Advance!"
As the wind rippled through my hair and the adrenaline coursed through my body, once again I wondered who would be the ones to come back and who would be left behind.
Dun dun dunnnnn~ What shall happen next~? Sorry if nothing much happened in this chapter but I needed to have Catori meet the others and all that jazz. But I threw in her taking Levi's beloved bleached cravat so that has to count for something right? And as usual any comments or suggestions are always welcome! I love hearing what you guys think ^-^!
