All that I want is for things to stay
I know what I'll deal with, what to expect
But sad as it is, life won't work that way

I held my future, molded it like clay
Sure it's not flawless, but I won't object

Fragile, yes, but it won't decay
It's not so bad, I'll soon have it bedecked
But sad as it is, life won't work that way

So what should I do then, just throw it away?
I beg, I can't choose, can't be so select

I've built this much, took me many a' day
I'm sure, given time, that this life I'll perfect

It's mine right now, and it I'll protect
