Taylor
"Alright then lets move on to something else, shall we?" Dean asked.
Adam and I both nodded in response. Finally! I shifted excitedly back and forth waiting to see what he had in mind. Dean pulled his keys out of his pocket and unlocked the shed, inside he pulled out a few boxes that Sammy helped him bring back to where they stood.
"What do you think we're doing now?" Adam whispered.
"I'm not sure but whatever it is I'm going to be better at it then you," I replied smirking.
"Uh huh, yeah we'll see," Adam scoffed.
They brought the boxes down and set them carefully on the ground, "Set those up would ya?" Dean asked pointing at the larger box. Sam nodded and began setting up empty cans of different sizes arranging them so that some were closer than others.
"Ha, I knew it, I am going to be so much better at this then you, gun please?" I asked holding out my hand to Dean.
Adam looked surprised but then he smiled, "Finally some real weapons!"
Dean smirked quickly at our eagerness and then shook his head. Sam walked back to us with a more serious expression on his face, "This is not a game you two, this is serious."
Dean mimicked Sam's expression, "He's right, you can't mess around, as you said before Adam these are real weapons, not toys. One mistake during the real thing could cost al of us our lives, so I don't want to see either of you fooling around, do I make myself clear?"
Adam and I both nodded, "Yes sir."
"Now can I have the gun?" I asked with pouty lips, "Pretty please?"
Dean handed us both one and I smirked, this is gonna be good.
"Alright let us get out of the way and then have at it, but concentrate I want to see decent shots, so aim before you shoot, don't just go crazy and waste all of your ammo," Dean said.
"Oh come on Dean I shot my first gone before kindergarten, daddy told me I was a natural then and I still am now, it's just like riding a bike," I smirked.
"Do not get cocky Taylor, one mistake…" Dean started.
"Yeah and we'd all be dead, I got it the first time, now come on let's go!" I answered excitedly. I'd finally be able to let off some steam and prove to all three of my brothers just how ready and capable I was.
"Watch it Taylor" Dean warned. Oh come on just get out of my way already, was what I wanted to say but instead I nodded.
"Alright make us proud," Dean said. With that they both walked back over to the safety and shade of the house to supervise.
"Ready!" I called, and we both got into a comfortable stance.
"Aim!" Adam called as we both lined up our first shots. I picked one of the ones furthest back.
"Fire!" Dean and Sam yelled.
Wit that we started firing on shot at a time s we were told. I smiled when my can fell but was disappointed to see that Adam's had too, but his was ore in the middle.
"I still won that mine is farther away," I said as we took another shot, both of ours hit again but this time his was as far back as mine, "You didn't say you were trying to shoot further too, two can play at that game." He smirked.
"Oh yeah, well I could do this with my eyes closed, and never miss a shot," I responded.
"Sure you keep telling yourself that," He smirked as we both took another shot.
"Both of you are doing good," Dean called.
"Less talking more shooting," Sam called.
"I can, I've done it before," I told Adam.
"Liar," Adam responded and we shot again.
"Are you saying I can't?" I asked.
"Maybe you can, or maybe your bluffing, we'll never know will we?" He asked. We took another shot and so far neither of us had missed.
"Yes we will," I answered and I aimed first and then closed my eyes and pulled the trigger.
a can closest to us fell back and I smirked, "told ya"
"Oh please that was the closest can that doesn't count, you could never get that can back there," Adam pointed.
"Yes I could," I argued.
"Oh yeah, prove it." Adam said.
I clenched my jaw and raised my eyebrows at him, "Find then I will" Jaw clenched and eyes closed I shot again, but this time my shot fell short, Adam's did not.
"What the hell was that?" Dean yelled as he stormed over to us. Sam followed looking just as angry. Adam took a step back and I blanched at Dean when he grabbed the gun from my hands.
"I… I missed," I answered only half lying.
"Don't try to pull that shit with me Taylor Winchester, you never miss, we all know that, Dad made sure of it, so I will ask you again, what the hell was that?" Dean asked.
I shrugged head bowed as I looked up at him awaiting his next move.
Castiel suddenly appeared out of thin air causing everyone but Dean to jump, "Her eyes were closed."
"Why?" Dean asked keeping his attention focused on me as tears welled up in my eyes.
"I just wanted to prove…" I cut my sentence off short, my throat was tight and burning and I couldn't help the tears that streamed down myself, how could I be so stupid? They all knew I was a good shot, I had nothing to prove, if I would have just followed orders…
"The only thing you needed to do in this exercise Taylor was shoot that gun the way we all know you can, and PROVE to us that you could follow orders, shoot on command, that's it Taylor that's all you had to do, and you blew it!" Dean yelled. He pinched the bridge of his nose, "I need a minute to cool off, and decide what I'm going to do with you, get inside and wait for me," Dean ordered.
I hesitated for only a second before I realized that if I stuck around I'd just be disobeying orders again and making this whole situation a hell of a lot worse, "Y-yes Sir, I'm so s-sorry Dean," I managed to get out as I quickly walked past them and wiped at my face as I got to the house.
Dean sighed and began walking in the opposite direction.
"Dude where are you going?" Sam asked.
"I'm going for a walk, I'll be back in a few minutes, tell Taylor to stay downstairs if she knows what's good for her, have her do homework in the kitchen or something."
Sam sighed, "Okay Dean."
Adam flinched as Sam rounded on his little brother, "You, did you have anything to do with this?"
Adam might have attempted to lie if it hadn't been for Castiel's stern glare when he risked a glance at him, "I might have egged her on a little bit," he admitted.
Sam took a deep breath and looked at his angel friend for confirmation, Castiel nodded, "It's true."
Sam grasped Adam by the back of his neck and Adam stiffened, "Walk."
Adam walked as Sam guided him along, giving him a little push in when they reached the door. Adam rubbed his neck and stared humbly at the ground. Taylor was leaning against the opposite wall waiting, and rubbing at her eyes. She looked up sadly at him as they entered. Sam pointed to the kitchen, "Your books are in the bottom cabinet, with instructions of assignments, get started."
Taylor nodded not giving Sam any reason to threaten her further, so he kept his attention on his brother, "Go get me that paddle."
Adam's eyes widened and he looked at Sam with remorse, but when Sam didn't say anything else he quickly obeyed. He walked into the other room and glanced at Bobby with teary eyes, bobby pointed to a shelf but that was the only help he offered. Adam knew he wasn't getting out of this one, his hands shook as he reached for the implement so he stopped and took a second to steel himself closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. When his eyes opened he grabbed the paddle and quickly returned to Sam who hadn't moved.
Sam took the paddle from Adam, "Why are you I trouble?"
"Because I egged my sister into doing something I knew was wrong," Adam answered.
"Good, since you have cooperated and you weren't the one who committed the actual act I will only give you ten, bend over the couch," Sam instructed.
Adam nodded and turned around, he looked over his shoulder at his brother, "Um… do I have to…"
Adam trailed off but Sam understood what he meant, "No you can keep your jeans on this time."
Adam felt a bit of relief from that, he was only getting ten swats, with his jeans on, he could do this, he reassured himself. Eager to get his punishment over with he quickly bent over the couch and grasped the cushion for comfort. Sam dished out exactly what he promised ten, very hard, smacks with the dreaded paddle. The pain made him jump and grunt a few times but it was bearable. When it was over he wiped his eyes and sniffed quickly before turning around to his brother, "I'm sorry S-Sam."
Sam nodded and tilted his head towards their sister in the kitchen, who, despite her best efforts was having a lot of trouble focusing on her homework.
"Taylor?" Adam asked softly.
Taylor looked up nervously just as Dean entered. She cringed but tried to keep her attention on Adam for the moment. Sam nudged Adam telling him to continue, "I'm sorry I egged you into doing… it, I knew it was wrong and being your older brother I should have been more responsible."
Deans head snapped up towards Adam, "Excuse me, you did what?"
Adam took a step back and Sam put his hand up, "Dean I already took care of it."
Dean looked between his brothers from Adam's bloodshot eyes to the paddle Sam held in his other hand.
Taylor spoke up, "I don't blame you Adam, you didn't make me do it, and I'm the one who did it."
Adam smiled gently as the rest f is guilt faded, and then he looked at Dean, "I'm sorry."
Dean having had time to calm down was in complete control again, and started rambling off orders as usual, "Fine, you two switch places, Adam get to work, Taylor front and center, and Sam give me that."
