Luke was unable to hold off the Sith Lord's attacks for long, and refused to channel the Dark side as he just had. In order to get away from it all, he reverse flipped onto a catwalk that above him. Vader seemed displeased, looking up at her son from below.

"Your thoughts betray you, father," Luke said calmly, pacing on the catwalk. "I feel the good in you, the conflict."

"There is no conflict," Vader stated, his powerful voice echoing around the room.

"You couldn't bring yourself to kill me before and I don't believe you'll destroy me now," Luke replied.

How can you be so confident? Anna thought to herself. Surely, Luke knew the force he was dealing with. He had lost his hand the last time he had clashed with Vader. She couldn't see the two, as they were below the platform that she stood on, along with the Emperor who was enjoying every moment of the battle.

"You underestimate the power of the Dark side," Vader growled. "If you will not fight, then you will meet your destiny."

Vader's red blade sailed through the air, aimed at Luke, who ducked out of the way, but the supports holding the catwalk up were sliced. In a shower of sparks, the catwalk fell, sending Luke to the ground, and he rolled away quickly, hiding in the darkness under the platform.
Beside her, the Emperor laughed. "Good, good," he cooed, and she winced. She heard Vader ignite his lightsaber and the low hum it gave off as he moved, but it was not met with another blade. Luke was still hiding.

Her mind left the battle for a moment, and she was thinking about what the Emperor had told her. Was it possible that she still had a family out there, one that she would be free to go back to, on a planet where she could call it home?

"Why should I believe anything you've told me?" she asked boldly, and the Emperor turned to face her.

"I'm not asking you to," he said slowly, slightly irritated that she distracted him from the battle beneath the platform. "I'm only telling you because you know it to be true."

She turned away from him, clearly not getting any more information out of him. A sister? Could it be true?

"She is a Rebel, much like yourself. Or at least, she was."

Was? Had something happened to her? Assuming she's real, she reminded herself. Nevertheless, questions flooded her mind. Could she really have a true family, if they were still alive? The Emperor could very well be playing her feelings, as they were all over the place. Registering something so heavy as this was taking a long time to sink in, but part of that was because she refused to believe it. She had suffered for too long, and knowing that she could've had a safe haven, free from everything, the Empire, the lords that she smuggled for, bothered her.

Regardless she couldn't help but feel a little bit closer to Luke. He had just found out that he had a sister, the former princess of Alderaan. However, he knew she was real, they had been friends for years before they found out. Whether or not Anna's sister was real or not was something different entirely.

"Can you at least give me a name?" she asked. "Something?"

Even though she couldn't see his face, she knew that he rolled his eyes. "Now is not the time," he said. "However, she has been tempted by the Dark side. You are following in her path, more than you know."

Anna didn't want to read too much into what he said, but it was difficult not to. Was her sister, real or not, Force-sensitive, as she was? Could she be a Jedi? Surely others had survived the Great Jedi Purge, not just Yoda and Obi-wan. It could be possible that her and Luke were not the last Jedi.
She blinked, trying to clear her mind. Now was not the time to mull over someone that may or may not exist. Perhaps it was what the Emperor wanted, to send them both into turmoil. She turned slightly to look at the hooded figure, who was still smiling. How could a man that looked so fragile emanate such power? Then again, she didn't consider him a man. He was barely human considering all of the terrible things he had done, all of the people he had murdered, building a regime that heavily favoured him.

Below them, the Sith Lord stalked in the darkness, looking for Luke.

"You cannot hide forever, Luke," his voice boomed.

"I will not fight you," Luke stated boldly.

"Give yourself to the Dark side," Vader said. "It is the only way you can save your friends."

Anna shifted in her restraints. Please Luke, don't listen to him, she thought, but dared not to say it aloud. Even though she was not the one they were after, if she were speak her mind, she knew that there would be severe consequences. No matter how much she wanted to tell Luke to fight the Dark side away, she forced herself to keep her mouth shut.

"Yes, your thoughts betray you," Vader continued. "Your feelings for them are strong, especially for…"

Vader paused, and Anna wanted nothing more than to be able to see what was going on beneath them. She could feel Luke's anguish.

"Sister," Vader purred. "So, you have a twin sister. Your feelings have now betrayed her too. Obi-wan was wise to hide her from me. Now his failure is complete. If you will not turn to the Dark side, perhaps she will."

That was enough for Luke to spring up out of the shadows. "Never!" he screamed, and charged at Vader, his attacks even more vicious than they had been before. She could hear him screaming with each swing, and Vader could hardly even block. The Dark side suddenly surrounded Luke as Vader was forced out of the small area, across a bridge, and to an elevator shaft not he other side of the throne.

The Emperor began to laugh, while Anna could only watch in horror. Luke may physically be there, but mentally, he was gone. The raw anger had completely overtaken him, and she barely recognized him. He was so caught up in his emotions that the man she loved, dare she say it, was completely pushed out. Now, the man that stood not far from her was someone that she didn't know. She wanted to tell him to stop, to tell him that it wasn't worth it and that he was doing exactly what they wanted him to do, but she knew it would be futile. When someone was as strong as he was, from a family line as strong as he was, both side of the Force were powerful and equally as tempting. If Vader could fall to the Dark side, then everything was laid out for Luke to turn. He had seemed so confident before, now she wasn't so sure. When he channeled his anger, he was powerful, no doubt.

Luke began to swing, pouring all of his anger into each strike. Vader was knocked to his knees, and in a vain attempt to block the next attack, Luke slashed at his father's right hand, slicing it off at the wrist. Parts flew everywhere, and the stump smoked from the heat. The lightsaber dropped to the bottomless shaft. However, Luke was not yet finished, raising his green blade to Vader's throat. The Emperor laughed, clearly pleased with the outcome of the fight.

"Good!" he called with pleasure. "Your hate has made you powerful. Now, fulfill your destiny and take your father's place at my side."

With that, Anna could hold her tongue no more.

Luke, please stop!

I hope this chapter was (kinda) worth the wait. It might seem a bit slow right now but things will pick up pretty quickly (and I can wait to twist this plot even more). I didn't get to finish all of the chapters during the five days I was away, but I only have one more to finish and two more to write, and they should be relatively short (except for chapter 37. It's a monster and it took up a ton of time. I'm still not done.) This story should wrap up sometime next week.
