Revised: Winx Club Eternix Part 1 Chapter 2: A Perception of Friendship
"Who in their right mind thought this was a good idea?" Stella pulled out a large brown hoodie with printed dog paws out of Roxy's luggage.
"Someone who knows their audience, Stella." Roxy snatched her hoodie from Stella. The blonde collapsed into Flora's arms and dramatically yakked about the fashion crime that took place. Musa rolled her eyes and Flora sank lower to the floor trying to support Stella's weight. In the dividing room between Roxy and her roommate's quarters, Bloom and Aisha organized the area to be more inviting with bean bag chairs. The area had a lavender colored table, a mini-library, some fauna with Flora's help on the window sill along with a rest area, a sofa with throw pillows on and maps of Magix and Alfea, a directory and events for the day on the sofa.
"Any help would be great, Tecna," Musa said. She snooped at her short haired friend to see what she was up to. "Making changes to your new PDA?"
Tecna snapped the pieces into one contraption. "Not for me." She handed the PDA to Roxy. "Consider this your helper on all things Magix. I reconfigured this to support GPS, searching and help, lighting and high battery life, smart charging and a few other nick knacks." Tecna pulled up a holographic keyboard by pressing a few keys. "You also should have cross-dimensional talk and texting on primitive technology without a problem. But the best part is." Tecna called the other to huddle round. Each Winx situated themselves to fit in the photo. Stella took Roxy's phone, admiring herself and the others.
"The first memory of many to come." Flora clapped her hands. "Anyone else having a nostalgic moment? Going through the tour again brought me back to freshman year."
"Maybe you should become a teacher again and have annual the nostalgic moments," Musa said jokingly. She supposed Flora might end up teaching at Alfea as her career. The sparkle in her eye after what Musa confirmed her interest in that pursuit.
"You must begin your first semester with Wizgiz's transconfiguration course." Bloom made it out of that class with a B. If she had more experience with magic, the course would've been an easy A. "And Avalon's defensive magics course."
"Bloom, remember when you had a crush on—"
"We don't speak of that anymore, Aisha…" The other girls giggled. Roxy asked what happen then. "I may or may not have had a crush on a teacher whom actually was an angel of death working with a demonic entity that wanted to make me some sort of corrupt fairy to rule all of the world. Old things," Bloom said, her face red after her talk.
"And the day of the rose's coming up soon." Musa mentioned. "Remember when you gave Riven that jacked up helmet from Timmy that was actually from Knut and the Trix?" Musa wondered if she attended the festival with the others how different that outcome would have been.
Bloom threw her hands up and told the girls that this isn't pick on Bloom day but the five fairies persisted, poking fun at the things that Bloom had done during class and diverged into other stories one about Flora's dorm plants, another about Stella's Miss Magix competition, Musa and Stella's performance in Red Fountain, the girls first experience on Earth and about their old dorms. Through their laughter and talk, Roxy wished she had these experiences with them things that had happened that made their friendships stronger and their team united.
"It slipped out of my mind, but what did the Headmistress needed you guys for?" The Winx quieted. "What happened…?"
"She brought up something that could revive Nabu, but I left before she mentioned anything else…" Aisha looked down at her feet with her arms crossed and the others glanced at each other.
Roxy took a seat on the couch. "That's, wow…"
"It sounds crazy," Bloom said, "Headmistress Faragonda had always steered us in the right direction, but something like this feels like a stretch."
"After all the failed efforts, it sounds too good to be true..."Flora thought fatigue got to the elder and looked into something without a clear head.
"You know what it sounds like to me." Stella plopped down on a bean bag. "Another quest for the Winx." She knew that every year the Winx had some new journey to do. She'd prefer to have a normal time for once and go a couple of days without discovering something or unlocking secrets. Possibly for one whole week to enjoy a trip to the mall and a spa day with some lavished royal event. It wouldn't take long for another quest would come.
"It sounds like being a Winx is more than its gilts and glam," Tecna said. The others agreed with Stella's tone. The six barely had time to be normal teens, most of their careers spent defeating evil. Then again they would not be the Winx without all the save the dimension quest and battles.
"I guess that's just what we are." Flora crossed her arms. "So…should we talk about it…?"
"There is nothing to talk about." The girls turned to Aisha, the brown skinned girl walked to the window. "I'm not listening to anything Faragonda has to say about her theories."
"Aisha…" Bloom put her hand on her shoulder. "Maybe, we should consider this. At least talk things out before we come out with a decision." The others looked at each other, eyes that shown something should be said, but no one spoke. Aisha tuned out completely, shrugging Bloom's hand off.
Tecna broke the silence. "I'm not saying this is something we should immediately jump into but considering what we've been through, trying out something with a small chance of happening might turn to our favor. Though chances might place in the decimal percentage."
"What about time? We have a whole career on Earth we've just got." The musical group, one of the things that the girls place as a hobby might pay off with their record deal. Musa knew a lot when it came to chance, trying to pursue music in the Magix dimension was nearly impossible due and Musa and the girls swiped the deal of their dreams. The possibility of this to occur even on Earth was slim, but it came into play.
Bloom sighed. "I want to try. I believe in Faragonda." Aisha shook her head. "Aisha, that's the purpose of what we do. When I was told that my birth parents, Ortiel and Miriam, were dead from Valtor along with the rest of the people of Domino, I started to lose hope. The hope that I would never be able to earn my Enchantix and the hope that for the rest of my life that part of me would be lost and never completed. When you lose hope, you will never be able to break the barriers in life. I know you may have accepted Nabu's comatose for a while, but I don't feel like you coping with it properly. Nabu wouldn't want you to feel this way..."
"I feel fine Bloom. I'm not going to waste my time on this."
"You're not feeling anything! Since his sleep, you've been reserved. You're not as open as you use to be. This isn't you!"
"We've done enough. I've done everything I could for him to be with us again but nothing worked. It was fate, the ethereal fairies told us."
"Don't give up hope, Aisha! I want to help you; we all want to help! Doing this could be something that you need to cope with Nabu's condition."
The wave fairy could feel her blood boil. They all still have your boyfriends after the disaster. They all got to hear their voice, kissed them, get wrapped around in their embrace. And she had nothing. She could have finished the Wizard in the Omega dimension, let her anger fuel her power and avenge his end, but that wouldn't bring him back. Those monsters' blood for his life wouldn't satisfy her so being angry wouldn't help her or anyone. Instead she turned to Bloom and put on the best smile that she mustered then walked passed the redhead and the others out of the apartment. Before Bloom followed, Flora stopped her, telling her to give Aisha space and sometime to think.
"Maybe that wasn't the best time." Stella sat up from the bean bag chair, stretching and surveyed the room. "Wow this is way different from our old rooms."
"I think it's because this is the West dorms while we were at the East ones," Tecna said. She raised her eyebrow when Stella jiggled the handle to the Roxy's roommate's door. "Stella, the intruder."
"'Lilith of Sogno'." The blonde rubbed her chin. "I've heard of that name before." The front door unlocking stopped Stella's tale. The girls at first thought it was Aisha coming back to the apartment, but a short man in purple patrol suit entered, struggling to carry heaps of luggage. The man after him, a much taller man carried a shoe rack with the same amount of struggle. The last patroller entered, younger looking man entered carrying makeup cases and beauty supplies. He didn't seem bothered but had an upset look on his face. They huddled around Stella. "Hello...?" She waved at the men. They asked for her to step out of the door so they could enter and she did as told. Tecna whispered to Musa if this was a raid.
"Ma'am, you should be set." A young female entered the room. The shoulder blonde with an out-grown bang pinned to the left side of her face inspected the pathway room. She straighten her three quarter sleeve dark jacket as she looked at her furnishings and looked passed the six girls lounging. Her blue tank top tucked into her jean short shorts that matched her jacket and wore peep-toe blue wedges to complement her look. She had some displeasure in her face, running her hands on the wooden desk and found some dusk. "Ma'am."
"Has everything been unpacked?" The girl asked softly. Taken aback the men told her that they weren't told to do so. "Then you are not done. Make haste." The three men grumbled and reentered the girl's room. The girl continued to search the room.
"Lilith, right?" Roxy held out her right hand in gratitude. "Hi! I'm Roxy, your new roommate. It's nice to meet you."
Lilith looked at Roxy's hand, and then at Roxy. Lilith slowly scanned the animal fairy from head to toe with her lavender eyes, and then glanced at the five fairies behind her. "This is unbelievable…"
The Winx flinched from Lilith's response. After the men were done unloading the student's things, she walked to her room and locked the door shut. The three men left the room immediately.
Roxy remained where she was standing, her hand still out for Lilith to greet and confused at her roommate's response. "Nice to meet you to, then…?"
"You're in for one hell of a year…" Stella whispered to Roxy.
Author's Note: I had to change the focus of what I originally had and stripped a lot of the unneeded content off. Some of the ideas this that I had when the first chapter two of this fanfic had to be removed since they either no longer fit in the plot or were introduced too early. I'm satisfied with the changes I had to make.
