So... you all remember a while ago when I said I'd let you know if anything came up with my bad Internet? Well, something did indeed come up, which explains why I haven't really posted anything in a while. You may have noticed that I updated my profile a bit a short while ago, but that was not through my new laptop (which I'm so glad to have) but through my gaming console. I didn't want to risk writing on there because I didn't want to get cut off, which is what literally happened with this chapter. I was picking up some great momentum, getting close to the end... then my laptop decided to be an ass and just not work any more. No Internet access, I couldn't update it in any way, shape, or form... it was just a mess. But! I now have a new laptop, so without further ado, let's get on with it!
Inside Mr. Dickenson's limousine...
"We're here, sir," said Jones, finding a good spot to park outside of the Beyblade arena.
"I wonder how much we missed..." Dickenson said as he exited the car, turning to see Jones as he opened the door for the chairman. "Once again, thank you for your work."
The driver smiled. "It was a pleasure as always, sir. I'll stay behind with the car."
Dickenson nodded. "I'd bring you with me, but with all of this business with Boris and so on, I don't blame you for staying behind."
"If you had the money, you could probably get some small TVs for the limo," Jones said with a small shrug.
"I wish that I did," Dickenson said. "Eh, it's no trouble. I don't mind missing a few matches as long as Boris gets what's coming to him."
"I certainly hope so," replied Jones. "Now, go and watch. There's probably not much time left."
Dickenson smiled and wished his driver the best of luck before turning around, making his way for the arena, thankful that it wasn't too far away given the parking space. He walked through the front doors, not needing to be searched given his reputation as the guard let him pass through regardless, the chairman thanking the guard.
"Enjoy the rest of the tournament, whatever's left of it," the guard said.
"What have the results been so far?" Dickenson asked.
"Ray versus Garland was the first fight, and Ray one. Close fight, though. Second battle was Max against Crusher. Again, a close fight, but Crusher toughed it out and pinched it."
"And what about the third fight?" Mr. Dickenson inquired.
"That'll be Tyson up against Brooklyn. That's going to start soon, actually."
"Thank you, sir," Dickenson smiled. "Were you one of my own security guards, I'd give you a raise."
"Eh, Boris has a better dental plan," the guard shrugged with a chuckle.
Dickenson shook his head with some laughter before heading through the nearest corridor, following the signs that led him to the seating areas of the arena. Luckily, there were a few seats left, just about three rows up from the closest seats to the action, so he took it, guessing that a previous group of people had left already as he sat down, observing as the two bladers walked over to each other outside the dish.
"I wish us both the best of luck," Brooklyn said, shaking Tyson's hand. "But this won't be like the last time."
Tyson smirked. "I wouldn't have it any other way."
The two then broke the handshake and went back to their spots, both preparing their launchers, both looking extremely focus as they prepared both their blades and themselves for what might be their most important fight yet.
"Wow, both of our bladers look super intensely focused, AJ!" Brad said. "This is going to be a match to remember!"
"Without a doubt, Brad!" AJ replied. "Tyson's aggressive style and determination against Brooklyn's natural talent and skill! And that's not to mention their powerful bit-beasts, like Tyson's Dragoon! Its Evolution Storm attack can be deadly for anybody unfortunate enough to be caught up in its wake!"
"And let's not leave out Zeus, Brooklyn's bit-beast!" Brad added. "With his King Of Darkness attack being one of the deadliest ever, we're going to have a real fight on our hands!"
"And there couldn't be a more appropriate dish for this one!" AJ said. "We've got the scrapyard dish! Its design might look old and rusty, but if our bladers can use it to their advantage, it'll just make it even better, in my eyes!"
"And I can't wait!" Brad said, sounding more excited than usual. "Here comes the countdown!"
Boris began counting. "3... 2... 1... LET IT RIP!"
"Go for it, Dragoon!" Tyson yelled, launching.
"Bring the pain, Zeus!" Brooklyn replied, also launching.
Earlier, in the Bladebreakers' locker room...
Ray and Tyson were both stood over the practise dish, their beyblades spinning and slamming against each other lightly so as not to cause too much damage to each other during the friendly session. Kai was sat on the couch with the others, Hilary holding the remote as she flicked through channels.
"Are you sure that it's a good idea?" Ray asked.
"Must we really be having this conversation now?" Tyson said. "Let's focus on our practise first, okay?"
"It's just that... them?" Ray said. "You really think that they would be willing to help us?"
"You sure sound like you don't trust them," said Hilary, an eyebrow cocked at the White Tiger.
"I respect them and like them, that goes without saying," Ray said. "But... you've got to remember, these guys used to be Boris' best team. Heck, Brooklyn almost killed Kai!"
"Almost being the key word," the blue-haired blader replied. "Hilary's right, though; why the sudden trust issues?"
Ray sighed and called his beyblade to himself. "It's just that... I want to know that we can absolutely, positively trust in this plan to get BEGA to help. And not just for us..."
"But for Mariah, too?" Max asked. When Ray nodded, the blond continued. "Don't worry, dude. You're not the only one alone in that. Boris might have something rigged for us, but if he did, that wouldn't make sense because BEGA's not under his control any more."
"And besides," Kenny added, "you're not the only one with a personal stake in this. I want Dizzi back, you want to make things more peaceful when you and Mariah get married, Max wants to save Mariam, Kai wants to... um, well, I don't know yet."
"I think that I know what Kai wants to do," Hilary smirked.
"W-What do you mean?" Kai asked.
"You've got a little crush on Mathilda, haven't you?" Hilary said.
Kai shrugged. "Eh, a little bit, yes. But it'd be pointless to act on it considering that she's with Miguel."
"Not that I don't appreciate that way of thinking," Tyson said, "but could we focus on what's more important here?"
"Hey, you're the man with the plan," said Max. "If you think that we should try to get their help, then we should."
Kenny then smiled, turning to Tyson. "So, what's the first step in going about this?"
"Well..."
Back to the match...
The two blades landed on the gravelly floor of the bey-dish, fresh from their launch. They both circled each other carefully, knowing that the slightest of slip-ups could lead to a huge advantage for their enemy.
Tyson and Brooklyn's eyes weren't fixated on their blades, but on each other, each blader watching their opponent for the slightest movement, the slightest change, knowing that even the smallest twitch would be a telling sign.
"Well... our bladers at least look ready to fight," Brad said.
"They're watching each other for now," AJ pointed out. "They're not going to go all out just yet. Not until they see an opening..."
Tyson then grinned and silently forced Dragoon to move forward a little bit, trying to goad Brooklyn into something, but it didn't work. In reply, Brooklyn had Zeus land a hard shot on Dragoon, sending it careening backwards before stopping just mere inches away, almost crashing into a pile of scrap metal.
'That was close...' Tyson noted in his head. 'All right... it looks like I made the first mistake there. Let's see if we can't redeem ourselves...'
In a flash, Dragoon zipped forward, moving a good distance out of the way of the pile of scrap before the circling began once more. Tyson then smirked, and Dragoon quickly moved forward, not holding back as it aimed for Zeus, hitting it dead on and locking horns with it before breaking away, spinning to its left and attempting to hit Zeus from the side.
'I can't fall for this...' Brooklyn thought. 'He's not going to hit me dead on again... he's going to try a feint...'
Recognising this, the BEGA lead willed Zeus to move forward to try to attack Dragoon, fully expecting the dragon beyblade to make its move. When it did, Zeus stopped and backed up, turning down a little to hit the bottom of Tyson's beyblade, causing it to fly up into the air.
"Whoa! What a move by Brooklyn!" said Brad.
"That was textbook, Brad!" AJ replied. "He saw Tyson's feint coming from a mile away, and he capitalised on it!"
Tyson growled in frustration as his blade got close to landing back on solid ground, bouncing off its side before attempting to readjust itself before a harsh slam from Zeus hit Dragoon hard, sending it flying close to Tyson as it landed on its bottom again.
"Ouch! That was a harsh shot from Brooklyn!" Brad said. "Tyson had better reciprocate this, or he could be in some serious trouble here!"
"Tyson's taken on some pretty tough opponents," AJ added, "but even I felt that one! What a hard shot that was!"
The leader of the Bladebreakers grinned, wiping his mouth before smiling at Brooklyn. "Looks like I've been getting too predictable."
"Eh, predictable's not your style," Brooklyn replied. "We all get caught from time to time. But I guess that I'm just smarter than you remember."
"You always were smart," Tyson agreed. "But I didn't forget about that in all of those years apart. I just hope that you haven't forgotten about what I can do too."
The BEGA leader laughed. "Why do you think I've not been as aggressive as usual? If I were to go crazy in this fight, I'd be playing right into your hands."
"Well, you can't blame a guy for trying," Tyson smiled. "Luckily, I don't need much effort to make you fall into my rhythm. Dragoon, attack!"
Tyson's beyblade spun around in a quick circle to kick up some stone, sending the tiny pieces of rock hurtling at Zeus before slamming directly into is, engaging in a harsh grinding battle before pulling away, circling to its right and ducking to land a shot to Zeus' midsection.
"Oof! What a hard shot to Zeus there from Dragoon!" said Brad. "Brooklyn will be feeling that one until the end of next week!"
"Not only was the shot hard, but it was very precise as well!" AJ replied. "The angle that Tyson made Dragoon turn to to get the strike just right definitely helped there!"
"Good shot..." Brooklyn grumbled, holding his side in pain. "Using the same move as earlier, but changing the angle of it to catch me off-guard... very smart move..."
"Hey, you might still be smart," Tyson said with a grin and a shrug. "But me? I'll always be crazy. That way, you don't have to make it my kind of fight; I can do that on my own!"
"Then let's have the Tyson kind of fight..." Brooklyn said, a grin on his own face as well.
"Be careful what you wish for..." the champion warned, raising his left hand and pointing the index finger outwards. "Dragoon, attack!"
Tyson's beyblade spun quickly and moved forwards, closing in on Zeus before the two locked up in a grinding battle for a short while before slamming harshly against each other, bouncing each other backwards and forwards and spinning around each other, trying to find a new angle to cut through before Zeus made a turn at the last moment, slamming into Dragoon's side once more in a similar manner as Dragoon had done earlier, causing it to careen away and smash through a pile of scrap, still spinning when it found the other side, the metal of the scrap pile now scattered around where it once stood.
"What a shot that was!" Brad said. "It looks like Brooklyn might have gotten some revenge for that earlier shot!"
"Not only that, but that looked like it was a perfect mimic of the shot that Dragoon did!" AJ replied. "Swerving around the opponent, finding their blind spot, then bam! Hard, powerful shot straight from the side!"
Tyson chuckled a bit. "Glad to see that your style hasn't lost any of its flair."
Brooklyn smirked. "Beats waiting around and just dodging while my opponents try to attack me." He then shrugged. "It's amazing how fast things changed from my early days."
Tyson nodded. "You're not the only one who's changed, dude. And now, I'm about to show you..."
Earlier, in BEGA's locker room...
"And that's the end of our highlights for the matches thus far in the tournament!" said Brad on the TV. "What a show these amazing teams have put on for us, huh, AJ?"
"I couldn't have said that one better myself, Brad," AJ replied. "There's always a lot of potential in the world of Beyblade, and these teams are a shining example of that! I can't wait for the next match!"
"Me neither!" Brad replied. "But for now, let's return to our warm-up matches!"
"Some good kids out there," said Garland as the TV went back to the warm-ups as several kids bladed against each other. "Looks like there's a lot of potential out there too."
"Eh, who knows?" Mystel said. "If we beat the Bladebreakers and become champions, we could very well fight those kids in the future."
"Do you think that we could lose to them when the time comes?" Garland asked with a chuckle.
"I doubt it, but stranger things have happened." Mystel then shrugged. "Either way, it'll be a lot of fun."
Ming-Ming was then heard laughing when she delivered a harsh slam to Crusher over at the practise dish. "Aha! Take that!"
"It's just a practise, Ming-Ming," the larger blader reminded. "I might have to use that blade later."
"So might I," Ming-Ming replied. "So, I have to keep it sharp."
Crusher shook his head, calling his blade back before he heard a knock at the door. "I'll get it."
The large blader went over to the door, opening it and looking around before looking down, his size and stature temporarily getting the better of him as he saw some people that he didn't expect stood there.
"Uh... what are you guys doing here?" Crusher asked, stepping aside politely as the Bladebreakers stepped inside.
"We had a little proposition for you," Tyson said.
Brooklyn stood up from the couch, turning off the TV and walking over to Tyson. "And what would that be?"
"Trust me," the champion grinned, "you're going to love this one..."
Back to the match...
Tyson turned his head up a bit as he made Dragoon move forward, the earlier hit appearing to have had no effect on it as it moved forward, reconnecting with its opponent with a big smash.
"Tyson looks like he's getting back into the swing of things in this match!" said Brad. "After that hit that he took earlier, I'm a bit surprised that he had recovered this quickly!"
"Tyson has always been one tough cookie, Brad!" AJ replied. "Brooklyn's one of the most powerful bladers around, too! It makes for a very exciting match this way!"
Zeus quickly recovered from the heavy hit, hitting Dragoon in return before the two engaged in a harsh grinding battle, Zeus gaining the upper hand as it pushed Dragoon backwards before turning on its axis, spinning the dragon blade around before pulling away, sending Dragoon crashing into another pile of metal.
Tyson grunted a bit in pain before Dragoon spun out, once again looking none the worse for wear as it sped towards Zeus once more, feigning a full-frontal attack as it dipped to its side and spun to Zeus' left, hitting the opponent not with its own blade, but with its body.
"We're seeing some truly innovative moves here, folks!" Brad said. "This isn't just your average, run-of-the-mill bey-battle! This is championship calibre right here, and our fans love it!"
"And so do I!" AJ added, excited as he watched. "This match is living up to all of its hype so far! Not just by being an aggressive, hard-fought battle, but by being technical, quick, and smart. Just the type of match that I love seeing!"
Tyson and Brooklyn hadn't taken their eyes off each other, still grinning as the Bladebreaker spoke first. "You're really putting a lot into this match, aren't you?"
The red-haired BEGA blader chuckled briefly and shrugged. "What can I say? I want that gold, Tyson. And if I've got to go through you to get it, then I will."
"Well, I'll give you a fair warning..." Tyson said, "I'm pretty hard to break through."
Brooklyn looked forward with a sneer before yelling for Zeus to attack, the dark blade moving forward and slamming into Dragoon, causing it to skitter back a few feet before following up the offence with another hard slam.
Dragoon barely managed to recover from the first slam before the second one followed, just about being able to stand its ground as it engaged in a tough grinding match that the dragon was clearly losing. But it did manage to push back before breaking away from the attack, returning with a short, sharp slam of its own, although not as damaging as Zeus' own attacks.
"Keep it up, Dragoon!" Tyson called, his beyblade following its instructions as it kept attacking Zeus with small, quick attacks.
"This isn't a move that we see often from Tyson!" Brad said. "But these smaller shots of his are certainly helping him to escape the corner that he was backed into!"
"Very smart move indeed, Brad!" AJ replied. "And not just that, but it's also about as creative as anything else we've seen in the match so far!"
"Tyson's got to keep this pace up just enough to push Brooklyn away and give himself enough room," Max said, sat with his team-mates at their bench. "He's playing a lot smarter than usual here."
"I think that he can do it," Hilary said. "He's blading like he always does, but it's nice to see him smartening up a bit and being a bit more unpredictable."
"That's pretty much what he's doing," Ray added. "He's being unpredictable, but not reckless."
Back in the dish, Dragoon and Zeus were now in the middle, the former of the two having finally gained enough room from pushing its opponent back, the two now caught up in a grinding match in the middle of the dish before breaking away, slamming into each other harshly, then circling each other.
"Looks like they're doing what they did at the start!" said Brad. "They're looking for an opening again. Let's see who exposes themselves first in this exchange."
"It may seem boring to those at home," AJ added, "but our fans are still cheering, and I can see why! Not only is this a lot better than it looks, it's all the more exciting and intensifying when you don't know who's going to strike first!"
Tyson chuckled at his opponent. "Are you just going to stand there and wait for me to attack again?"
The BEGA leader chuckled back. "I think that I'll take the initiative this time," he said. "Zeus, attack!"
The Bladebreaker grinned back, knowing that he didn't goad Brooklyn into the offence, and waited for his adversary's blade to strike his own, which it did, slamming into Dragoon hard enough to push it back a few feet before landing a follow-up attack, engaging in a rough grinding match with the dragon beyblade.
In reply, Tyson willed Dragoon to break away from the grinding match, but it was to no avail as Zeus followed after Dragoon like a bloodhound, so Tyson smiled and watched Brooklyn's face as he spoke his next words.
"Dragoon," Tyson said, "grind with Zeus!"
Brooklyn's stature didn't falter, but his eyes did flicker to the match as Dragoon willingly got into a grinding match with Zeus before then slowly spinning around Zeus' left, continuing its journey until it was completely behind the black blade, slamming it hard before moving backwards, avoiding any retaliation that Zeus and Brooklyn had planned.
"What a move there from Tyson!" Brad said. "That was pretty risky to re-engage in a grinding battle with Zeus again, but he used it to his advantage!"
"That he did, Brad!" AJ replied. "That was some smart thinking by Tyson, and it just further proves why he's gotten as far as he has!"
"Come on, Brooklyn," Tyson said. "Don't get all sloppy now; we're just getting started!"
"So, you're finally going to fight me for real, then?" the red-haired blader taunted back. "Because I'm getting sick of dancing around."
Tyson chuckled. "So am I. Let's really kick this up a notch..."
Earlier, in BEGA's locker room...
"So, let me get this straight," Brooklyn said as he paced back and forth in the room. "You're telling me that Boris has got a big plan that involves brainwashing a bunch of well-known bladers and using them as an army to take over the world of Beyblade?"
Max nodded with a slightly thoughtful look. "Pretty much, yeah."
"And he's being helped by Barthez and Doctor K, who have extensive knowledge in manipulating and controlling bladers against their will?" Ming-Ming asked, adding on to her leader's question.
"Yep," Kenny confirmed.
"But why would he need to do that?" Garland wondered. "It's not that I don't believe you guys. I just don't get it. He's the most powerful figure in beyblading right now, so why would he want to take control of a bunch of old teams?"
"It's not just them," Kenny threw in. "He's not going to stop at those teams. Pretty soon, any kid with a beyblade or at least a passion for the sport itself could become an unwilling participant."
"He doesn't just want to own a few fancy buildings," Tyson added. "He wants to own Beyblade itself. And, while he is willing to share that with all of us, I'm not so confident that I want him as a business partner."
"So, what's your plan, exactly?" Brooklyn asked.
"It's simple; for the first battle, we'll just blade as normal," Tyson explained. "The second battle is where things might get tricky, but if past history has taught me anything, it's that that'll be another good battle as well, so the same rules apply as for the first match."
"What about the third?" Mystel asked.
"That is when the plan comes in," said Tyson. "Depending on whoever the last two bladers are, and it doesn't matter who winds up fighting who, this is how it'll go: when the battle is close to ending, one of our blades causes a little... well, a small accident that may get us in trouble, but it'll be worth it."
"But won't he get suspicious?" Crusher asked. "He's going to know that something is up. Hell, he's probably watching us right now in this room. It is the last match of the tournament, after all. Tighter security and all that."
"Eh, we checked our room," said Ray. "Everything was fine, and there wasn't any cameras in there, so it should be the same here."
"Assumptions like that could get us in trouble," Kai said, looking at his team-mate before his eyesight addressed the rest of the room. "He's right in that we couldn't find anything in our own room, but we can't take any chances." He then looked at Team BEGA more directly, his Bladebreaker team-mates following suit. "So, are you with us on this one?"
"Well, I am, if mostly because it'll be entertaining to watch him fall again," Ming-Ming said as she nodded, looking at the rest of her team. "What about you guys?"
"Eh, it'll be fun to rub that guy's face in it," Mystel said with a shrug. "I'm in."
"As long as it stops all of those kids and ourselves from being zombies, I'll do it," Garland added.
"For Monica," Crusher spoke. "I love my sister more than anything, and I will not let Boris get his hands on her as well as us."
Brooklyn then nodded. "For Beyblade. I grew up with it like a lot of other kids, and like everybody else in this room, I'm not going to let that high and mighty Bond villain wannabe take it away from me."
Tyson put his hand out, and the other Bladebreakers joined, placing theirs on his, Hilary and Kenny included, before Garland reached out and did the same, soon followed by the others with Ming-Ming's on top of them all.
"Remember," Max spoke, "if we're going to do this, we've got to do it right."
"We will," Mystel said.
They all pressed their hands down before Tyson smiled at Brooklyn. "See you at the dish."
"I'm looking forward to it," Brooklyn smirked.
As the Bladebreakers left, Crusher spoke up. "Come on, Ming-Ming," he said. "Let's get back to our practise."
"And we should get back to our TV," Brooklyn added. "More warm-ups and stuff to watch is always a good thing."
Back to the match...
Dragoon zipped forward, landing a heavy slam on Zeus and causing the opponent to fly into a junk-pile, much like Zeus had done to Dragoon earlier. But the ending result was somewhat of a double-edged sword for Dragoon as one of the pieces of shrapnel that split apart hit Dragoon's base, causing it to wobble a bit.
"Uh-oh!" Brad said. "That was a really risky manoeuvre from Dragoon!"
"And now Brooklyn is looking to capitalise on it!" AJ added. "Tyson looks a little bit shocked that the move backfired!"
Brooklyn grinned, commanding Zeus to attack, the dark blade striking Dragoon with a hard slam that sent it skittering across the floor, flipping onto its top before managing to find its bottom again, trying to shake off the attack.
It didn't get a lot of time to recover, however, as Zeus reconnected with the dragon blade, sending it flying back a bit further, caught against a small fence that outlined the dish, Zeus slamming into Dragoon over and over, causing the pain between the fence and the blade attacking Dragoon to grow further and further.
"Snap out of it, Dragoon!" Tyson called to his blade.
After a few more hits from Zeus, Dragoon managed to wake up and move from its position as its chimera opponent geared up for another heavy hit, slamming it against the fence in reply four times before backing away from it, giving Zeus some breathing room.
"A good reversal there from Tyson," Brad said. "It looked pretty close, but he managed to get out of it."
"That really was close!" said AJ. "I know that Tyson likes to be risky, but he does need to keep in mind that that's not a game that he can play for too long, especially with Brooklyn!"
Back at the dish, Tyson grimaced a bit as he started to feel the weight of the battle catch up to him. "Phew..." he breathed out. "This match is really starting to take the wind out of my sails."
"Same here," Brooklyn agreed, panting a little bit before chuckling. "You know, if we're not careful, either one of us could fall..."
Tyson chuckled and stood up a little bit more. "You know, you're right. But that one ain't going to be me." He raised an arm. "Dragoon, take him down!"
Tyson's beyblade moved forward quickly, the earlier damage seeming to have little to no effect on it as it moved forward, slamming into Zeus and causing both blades to lock up into a tough grinding fight, with little, one-inch slams here and there between the two to try and regain their footing.
"This one looks like it's getting tough, folks!" Brad said. "Both of our bladers are clearly exhausted, but they're still going for it!"
"This isn't out of desperation, either!" AJ added. "This is pure, unadulterated willpower from both sides! This is what true heart is, folks!"
'Okay, it's all going according to plan so far...' Tyson thought in his mind. 'I just hope that Brooklyn trusts me enough to completely go through with it.'
Brooklyn chuckled, noticing his opponent's thoughtful look. "What's the matter?" he asked. "You're not starting to have your doubts, are you?"
The Bladebreaker grinned in reply. "Doubts about you? Nope."
The BEGA leader smiled back. "Good." He then let out a long breath. "Trust me, Tyson... I'm all in for this one. This match is as important to you as it is to me."
Tyson paused briefly. "Well then..." he started, looking at his opponent, "how about we both go for it? Right now. All of the strength that we have left. And I mean it; you'd better not hold out on me. I want your best, okay?"
"What do you think I've been giving you throughout this whole match?" Brooklyn smirked.
"It looks like we're about to see a big boom right here!" AJ shouted, his excitement as apparent as ever.
"Let's do this!" Tyson smiled. "Dragoon, let's hit him with everything we've got and then some! Evolution Storm!"
"Come on, Zeus!" Brooklyn retorted. "Let's end this! King Of Darkness!"
Unlike most other times when they'd used their attacks, things were different. The bit-beasts themselves erupted from their blades, with a huge torrent of wind surrounding Dragoon as a black, swirling typhoon spun around Zeus.
What was different, however, was the bladers themselves; they appeared to be glowing with strange auras, Tyson emitting a cyan blue glow while Brooklyn gave off a pitch black one, the power of both bladers fully on display as they went for their final attacks.
In the dish, both beyblades clashed and ground against each other as the bit-beasts ascended high, roaring and fighting each other before both moved in for a tackling collision, their colours glowing brightly as they smashed into each other, causing a bright light to cover the entire arena.
"I can't see a thing!" Brad said. "Did somebody turn the cameras off?"
"Since when has a camera being switched off resulted in white light, Brad?" AJ asked.
Tyson, despite the light blinding him, grinned as he mentally willed his Beyblade to crash into the bottom of the small elevator that lifted Boris up, causing a massive dent in it that made it wobble, which was followed by the light dying down as the elevator started to collapse, Boris flailing his arms.
After the light died down, the bit-beasts had both dissipated back into their beyblades, and the sound of spinning was heard, but the appearance of the two blades in question wasn't the best, as both were smothered all over in scratches, dents, and cracks.
The two continued to spin until Dragoon started to slow down, as did Zeus, with both blades spinning down and turning onto their sides. Tyson and Brooklyn panted heavily and both fell, much like their Beyblades.
"What a match! But who won it?" AJ asked. "They both fell at the same time!"
"Let's see the replay, AJ!" Brad said.
On cue, a screen came up in their booth, and the clip of the ending of the match was slowed down, showing both beyblades as they started to slow down before falling, with Zeus just narrowly losing out.
"Oh my goodness!" Brad exclaimed. "By the smallest of margins, Tyson has done it! He has won this match!"
As Tyson grinned to himself, Boris rose to his feet with the help of some medics who had come out, helping not only the host and head of the tournament, but the two bladers as well. Tyson then blinked a bit as a doctor shined a light in his eyes, but Tyson kept them open the second time as Boris started speaking.
"What a match that was!" he said, looking at his fallen elevator and grimacing briefly. "All accidents aside, that was a fantastic way to end the tournament, wouldn't you agree?" The crowd cheered in response. "Well, I'm glad that you all had fun. However, just because the tournament is over doesn't mean that we're all finished as tomorrow we'll have the celebration ceremony as we crown the champions!" The crowd cheered more. "For now, we should all go home and get some re-"
He was cut off as the lights went out around the arena, the crowd gasping in shock. Before Tyson could question it, he didn't notice one of the medics push a needle against his neck, injecting something that started to make the champion drowsy.
'D-Damn you, Boris...' Tyson thought to himself, knowing that his actual words would mean nothing now. 'I'll get you for this...'
And with that last thought, Tyson was knocked out cold just as the lights came back on, the crowd gasping once more as they saw Tyson unconscious in the medic's arms, who tried shaking him before signalling for a stretcher.
"We need to get him to a hospital right away!" the medic said. "He must have passed out from the fatigue!"
"Get on with it, then!" Boris said, hurrying the medic as two others appeared with a stretcher, placing the unconscious Tyson onto it. Boris then turned to the audience. "Sorry about that technical difficulty and such, folks, but don't worry!" He smirked evilly. "Everything is going to be just fine..."
Kai looked at Boris suspiciously before hearing a small hiss, looking around and noticing a clear white gas coming out from the vents, then looking as Boris and the other medics put on gas masks. Before the audience could get a say, the gas had gotten to them, knocking them out quickly.
Kai quickly pulled his scarf over his face, turning to see that the others were slipping, and he soon realised that his own defences were flimsy at best against it, having breathed in too much gas already before also falling unconscious, hearing Boris' voice in his ears as he drifted off to sleep.
"You all fell so easily..." Boris said. "And this time, there'll be nobody to pick you back up..."
