"My parents found out?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Of course they did! And besides Snape and Quirrell and the brats...I hope you're better soon Vanice." Archidia said, taking a seat on the edge of the bed.

"Madame Pomfrey said she'd be ready by ten tonight." Draco said, looking at the clock. "You know how I think they choose people for the Gryffindor team?"

Archidia and I looked at Draco who had suddenly smirked.

"It's people they feel sorry for. See, there's Potter, who's got no parents, then there's the Weasleys, who've got no money - you would think Longbottom would be on the team. He's got no brain."

At that I couldn't help but laugh, ignoring the throbs at the back off my head. I thought it was hilarious and was still cracking up when Madame Pomfrey walked in.

"Alright alright. Mr. Malfoy, you shouldn't make her laugh, it could alter the healing. She took quite a hit." She shooed Draco away from me and placed a new pill in my mouth which I quickly swallowed. "Now, Archidia and Mr. Malfoy, if you would like, you both can stay for a bit. She seems fine and can actually leave right now."

"Really?" I asked, smiling.

"Of course dear. Now let's just put these cloths away and you can head on straight to your dinner. It's only halfway in."

I smiled as she helped me stand up, and I realized that I could barely feel the throbbing anymore. Picking up my rose and candies, I looked at Draco and nodded, beginning to walk out with Archidia.

"Why don't I take your stuff back to the Common Room and you two can meet up with the other Snakes in the Great Hall?" Archidia said, stretching her arms out.

"Thanks, that would help." I replied, handing everything to her.

"You might pass by Severus on your way. He'd like a word with you both." She said, before walking off.

Turning back to Draco, I smiled and nodded my head in the direction of the Great Hall.

"Let's go." I said, starting to walk.

"Everyone was in a riot when you got hit. All the Slytherins were furious."

"So you didn't leave my side?" I smirked, looking at the passing portraits.

"Uh, well, I, uh...of course not." He stammered, rubbing the back of his neck.

"That's sweet." I said smiling.

"Sure." He replied.

Suddenly there was a raspy voice yelling at us and I flinched, turning to my left.

"Hey! Hey!"

"Oh no." Draco muttered, stopping in his tracks.

There was no avoiding it, Filch was practically sprinting at us, with his stupid cat, Mrs. Norris, right beside him.

"Stop right there you two! It was you both wasn't it?!" He screeched, waving his arms around as soon he was right in front of us.

"What did we do exactly?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"You let loose the Chocolate Frogs! Everyone else is in class and once I tell Professor Snape-"

"Tell me what, Filch."

Smirking, Draco and I looked at Snape, who was towering over Filch behind him. He looked maliciously angrier that usual, his eyes piercing and arms crossed.

"These two are almost as bad as the Weasley's!" Filch cried, pointing a finger in Draco's face.

"Filch do you really have nothing better to do than to pester me with this nonsense? Miss Crypton and Mr. Malfoy are well behaved students that were quite obviously on their way to the Great hall. Now why don't you bother one of the other Heads of Houses?" He hissed, rolling his eyes.

"I uh, right."

Without another word, he stalked off, muttering under his breath.

"The nerve of him!" Draco mumbled, rubbing his nose.

"Never mind him. Its good to see you well again Vanice." He said, seeming a bit distracted. "I've been attempting to punish those wretched Weasley twins, however I fear it's futile; McGonagall refuses to discipline them and it's aggravating me to no end. Nevertheless I have enough to worry about with Quirrell and the Stone so I suggest you five lay low so everything can transition smoothly."

"Lay low?" I questioned, a bit disappointed.

"They haven't been punished?!" Exclaimed Draco, making me jump.

"Yes and no. Focus on your studies." Professor Snape ordered, giving us the eye.

Sighing, I knew there was no arguing.

"Alright. We'll be heading to the Great Hall now." I said, pulling Draco along and waving to Snape.

"You can tell we're close even if you were blind!" Draco exclaimed once we were a few yards from the giant doors.

The noise was deafening, getting louder and louder with each step. Hard to believe all of the houses were eating dinner, but at the same time, really what else would explain the loudness of it all. As we walked in, the Slytherins all looked at us and began to cheer, changing my name in unison.

"VANICE, VANICE, VANICE!"

Then in the background was the booing of the Gryffindors, but my smile kept me from blushing. I walked to my spot at the table and sat down besides Lydia, and Draco took his spot besides Goyle.

"Nice on ya mate! Well done!" One of our Beaters congratulated, giving me a smile.

I recognized her, she was Aria Klingbell, a seventh year. She had wavy, dirty blonde with hair with what Lydia would describe as 'scene styled bangs'. Her eyes were dark brown and had an almost reddish look to them.

Potter was in the distance, everyone congratulating him, and Aria looked at him with hate.

"We get it, you're a bloody first year that's a Seeker, You don't have to keep going on about it like a self centered arse!"

Everyone that was older snickered, agreeing with her.

"Bit of a nasty shock for us all, but excellent job Vanice!" Marcus said, clapping his hands. "You won us a high spot for the House Cup, second place!"

An arm suddenly wrapped itself around my neck and I got the whiff of cinnamon draft itself up my nose.

"She's a natural isn't she? Good thing that nasty Bludger didn't hurt her too bad."

I could only guess who it was.

"Hello Rower." I said, pushing him off and not bothering to use his first name.

"Feeling better?" He asked, flashing me a white smile.

"Oh I was. Thanks."

~•~•ABOUT A MONTH LATER~•~•

.

The wretched pain had come back. Not physically though. Mentally.

"Who's bloody idea was it to pile all this homework into one class?!" Goyle yelled, making the Flavour Beans shake from the pile they were in.

"Goyle shut up! And like watch your mouth, you're so loud." Lydia huffed, blowing a strand of hair from her face. "It's not like you do it anyways."

"But really, this is mad!" Draco groaned, throwing his face down into his Potions book.

"What are the twelve uses of dragon blood?" Crabbe mumbled, confused.

"Don't ask me, I'm not even there yet." I sighed, continuing to practice my wand movements.

"You know what?" Draco asked, sitting up and stretching. "It's time for my break. I'm going to walk around the halls for a bit. Anyone care to join me?"

"Dracey just leave. We totally have to study." Lydia said, waving her hand at him.

Rolling his eyes, Draco walked out of the Common Room and left us to study, taking a few candies along with him.

"What's the Leg-Locker Curse again?" Goyle asked, putting his book down.

Lydia looked up and smirked, taking out her wand slowly.

"Oh...I like think it's...Locomotor Mortis!"

Immediately Goyle's legs were stuck together, making Crabbe and Lydia laugh out loud.

"Not funny!" Goyle exclaimed, looking for his wand.

"Oh no." I mumbled, taking out mine.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" Goyle shouted, making Lydia's book fly above her head, then promptly falling on top of her.

"Ow! Gregory Goyle!"

"Locomotor Mortis!" Crabbe suddenly said, making Lydia fall onto the couch.

"Please work, please work..." I mumbled, remembering the Dancing Feet spell Felix had shown me. "Tarantallegra!"

Thinking it had worked, I clapped, then was thrown back with burst of smoke by my own wand.

Coughing and dusting off the black dust that had explode on my face, I saw Lydia laughing at me while Crabbe and Goyle were still at it.

"What is going on?!"

Looking up, I saw Draco walk back in, with a look of disbelief on his face.

"Vanice, Lydia, pay attention! Crabbe and Goyle stop being idiots and listen!" He said, taking a seat on the couch, not even bothering to ask what happened.

"Like what now?" Lydia said, trying to sit up.

"Hagrid has a dragon."

"That's not funny Dracey. Like come on." Lydia huffed, using the countercurse on her legs.

"I'm being serious Lydia. I saw him, Potter, Weasley and that Granger with him in his stupid little hut. I know they saw me." Draco said proudly.

"And why are you so happy about this?" I asked, looking for Lydia's mirror.

"Because I can go tell Dumbledore and have him dismissed."

We all quieted down, smirking at Draco's plan.

"That wouldn't be too bad..." Goyle mumbled as Lydia fixed his legs.

"Anyways, what happened to you all?" Draco finally asked, looking at each of us.

I widened my eyes as I found the mirror. My hair was blown out, covered in black dust, as was all of my face and front robes.

"Oh, just a little fun is all." I muttered, using a nearby pillow to wipe it all off.

~•~•DAYS LATER~•~

.

It was during Transfiguration that Draco told us what he had been doing the past week.

"So instead of like, studying and helping us with all of our homework, you've been off totally laughing at Weasley in the hospital wing because the dragon bit him?" Lydia hissed angrily.

"Of course! What else would I do?" He scoffed, as if anything else would make sense. "And guess what else I found out?"

"What now, Draco?" I asked, beginning to get tired of his antics.

"This Saturday they're taking the dragon to the top of the Astronomy tower and sending him off. It's our last chance to have Hagrid fired!"

Rolling her eyes, Lydia pushed Draco aside and stuck a finger in his face.

"My eyes are starting to like get bags because of all this studying. I am so not going to stay up later than I have to for that."

"Us neither." Crabbe and Goyle said, scared of Lydia's anger.

"I agree with Lydia, Draco." I said, making an apologetic face. "There's too much going on right now. I'm not going."

.

...

.

"I can't believe you made me come!" I hissed at him, staying right beside the wall.

"Well I certainly wasn't coming alone." Draco scoffed, leading the way.

"If you hadn't come in and woken me up, I would still be warm in bed!"

"Which is exactly where you two should be! Detention!" A voice shouted, making us both jump.

A hand swooped down and yanked at Draco's ear, and another pulled mine.

"Ow! Ow! Let go!" I yelped, trying to move from McGonagall's grasp.

"You don't understand, Professor! Harry Potter's coming - he's got a dragon!" Draco tried to explain.

"What utter rubbish! How dare you tell such lies! Forty points from Slytherin! Wandering around in the middle of the night!"

"It's true!" I exclaimed, trying to get away.

"Come on - I shall see Professor Snape about you two, Miss Crypton and Mr. Malfoy!"

"Oh sure, punish us and not the Weasley's!" I said angrily.

"Ten more points, Miss Crypton!" She screeched.
