CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT- First comes love, then comes marriage
"If you all would please turn your text books to our chapter on Humanly Transfiguration! This will be on your N.E.W.T.S!" McGonagall said to her seventh years.
Hermione's head was swimming that morning and thought it may be allergies. April was a week away and the weather was changing rapidly. "Mrs. Malfoy, are you quite alright?" McGonagall asked her when she noticed Hermione loosing color in her face.
Without warning Hermione turned her head and heaved down the side of her desk. The room jumped back and away from the vomit as some of the Slytherins started to laugh. "Draco! Take her to see Madam Pomfrey!" The old witch said shooing them out.
"What have you gone and done that for?! You could have gotten it on my shoes!" Draco said. Hermione felt too sick to argue with him and threw up again once they arrived at the hospital wing.
"What has happened?!" Madam Pomfrey said running to Hermione. "She just started vomiting in class!" Draco said disgusted. "Oh dear, my dear. Lay down," Madam Pomfrey said as she ran around finding a potion in her medicine cabinet.
"Drink this, my dear," she said handing Hermione a yellow, glittering potion. Though nauseated she drank it all. "Will that help?" Hermione asked. "We'll know in a few moments…Draco, why don't you go fetch Professor Snape?" Madam Pomfrey said dismissing Draco.
"I have bad allergies, especially around this time a year. And two of the other Slytherins have been ill," Hermione started to explain. Madam Pomfrey was checking her temperature and poking her with her wand when she started to feel warmth in her stomach.
The warmth started to grow stronger and her belly glowed a bright white. Seeing this illumination in her body, Hermione screamed at the top of her lungs.
Hearing the noise Professor Snape and Draco spirited around the corner into the hospital wing. The glowing stopped quickly and she felt everyone's eyes glued to her.
"What the hell was that?" Malfoy asked confused. "That dear boy means you two are in for some happy news!" Madam Pomfrey beamed.
It hit Hermione before it did the men and she screamed again. "Poppy, leave us!" Severus ordered.
Hermione began to cry and knew she was being a fool for it. She was smart enough to know that this would eventually happen… But they had been so lucky for nearly four months she thought it would take much longer.
But the inevitable happened and soon it hit Draco as well. "Congratulations are in order," Severus said. "Truly? She is going to have my child?" Malfoy asked stunned. "Of course she is, Draco. What did you think would happen?" Snape said to the stupid boy.
"You two are excused from classes for the rest of the day. Draco, take her to your room while I go to Malfoy Manor. Don't speak of this yet to anyone!" Snape said running as fast as he could out the door.
Hermione was still in fits when they got back to their room. Malfoy was pacing the room with his hands behind his back like he did when he was frustrated. "Would you stop pacing? You are making me dizzy!" Hermione said from the bed.
Malfoy stopped and sat at his desk and began to tap his foot. "Now you're just hurting my head!" Hermione said, sensitive to the noise. "Well damn, Granger! What am I supposed to do?!" Malfoy asked.
"Don't yell at me!" Hermione said, sending a Herbology book flying towards Draco's head. He wanted to throw the damn thing back but if Hermione were in anyway ingured, he knew his punishment would be thrice that.
"Please stop your crying," Malfoy said after two hours of nothing but tears and screaming. "Don't tell me what to do," Hermione pecked. "Don't act like you are surprised this could happen," Malfoy said.
"I just thought it would be after we graduated. After our N.E.W.T.S." Hermione said blowing her nose. A knock at the door prompted Draco to go and answer it. Snape strode in without an invitation, looking pleased.
"First thing tomorrow morning you will go to Malfoy Manor. You will stay there until a Healer has examined Hermione," Snape said.
"We can't skip class! Our exams are nearly here!" Hermione cried. "We have much bigger worries than N.E.W.T.S. right now, in case you haven't noticed," Draco said.
The three argued for a near ten minuets before it was settled that they were indeed leaving for Malfoy Manor. "Get some rest and dinner will be brought here promptly. Would you rather I tell the students or would you like that honor?" Snape asked.
"You do it," Hermione and Draco said in unison. For the first time in their marriage they agreed on something.
