CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT- Healer
Lucius, Narcissa and a man in lime green robes greeted them instantly. "Well done, Draco. He is very pleased with you," Lucius whispered proudly with his hand clapped on Draco's shoulder.
"I am Healer Tonnesen," said the wizard in green. "If you would please follow me, Mrs. Malfoy," he said to Hermione.
Once Hermione and the Healer were gone the Malfoy family spoke plainly. "You've done it, Draco! He is thrilled! I knew you would not fail!" Lucius said showing his glee.
"Mother, are you pleased?" Draco asked. His mother had not said a word yet. "Of course I am, my sweet," Narcissa spoke quietly.
They were catching up and Lucius continued to pat his son on the back when Healer Tonnesen came to find them. "How is the girl?" Lucuis asked.
"She seems quite shaken, but it is quite a shock for most women her age. All together, Mother and Baby Malfoy are healthy. I suspect you'll meet the little one by early December!" Healer Tonnesen said.
"She needs plenty of rest, good food, and of course her prescribed potions. But all in all, I think this will be smooth sailing. I will meet again with you soon," Healer Tonnesen said leaving.
Lucius was still giddy with excitement. "We will all be rewarded for this, you will be handsomely rewarded, Draco!" he said. Lucius was still babbling when they heard a loud thud from upstairs. "Oh Merlin, no…" Narcissa said.
Lucius and Draco ran first to the stairs to see Hermione ready to throw herself down the steps. "Hermione! Don't!" Draco shouted. "Just calm down…" Draco said trying to pacify her.
He had finally done something Voldemort would be pleased with and Granger was ready to throw it all away. One small slip on the stairs and she could send all of his hard work down the drain.
"Father, put your wand down! You could hurt the baby," Draco said. Lucius was reluctant but lowered his wand. "I don't want this," Hermione muttered through angry tears.
"If you so much as take another step, your parents are as good as dead," Malfoy warned. "Do you want them murdered?" Draco said trying to talk her down. Hermione shook her head no but was still not back away.
Narcissa came into the foyer and calmly but eloquently said, "So help me, I will see to it that not only your parents are in the ground but that you are strapped to a bed for the next nine months. Throw yourself all you'd like after, but not until my grandchild is safe."
With a moment's consideration, Hermione stepped away from the grand staircase. "That is more like it," Narcissa said climbing to her. "Now, let's get you some dinner and then it's off to bed," she said picking Hermione up off the floor.
"Watch her closely, Draco. This will be a difficult nine months," Lucius said to his son.
