Chapter 29

(Tatooine, The Dune Seas)

The hot twin-suns shone bright above the desert world. The sands of the dune seas were stained in scorch marks, dead trooper bodies, and destroyed droid chassis and haphazard array of parts and limbs, and the smell of the arid hot desert was now full with smoke, and death. For war had come to the dunes of sand that wrapped around Tatooine like a blanket. Though if you were to ask any in the cities of Tatooine they wouldn't have a clue unless they heard the very few explosions far off into the dunes, where the cities like Mos Espa and Anchorhead and all the others were merely filled with Stormtroopers of the infamous fist of Darth Vader, the 501st legion of the Galactic Empire. Jabba the Hutt said not a word in protest as TIE bombers loomed ever closer to his palace as silent warnings of just how under the thumb of the Imperial might he was. For there would be no compromise, and no backing off by the Empire to a mere gangster, and a Hutt like Jabba. However not all was well for the Empire, for despite its military victory at the command of lord Vader. The Sith lord himself was seething with unabashed rage as the dark side of the Force swirled about he and the world of his early years, for in this world, in Tatooine, the dark lord saw nothing but weakness and frailty, and reminders of his past. A thing he did not take kindly to at all. As his troopers went about gathering their dead and disposing of their fallen brothers in massive funeral pyres, Vader stood silently atop a highly elevated sand hill, clad in his usual armor, slightly damaged in his mask, and looked at the twin suns as they passed the midday point. Leia stood off to his right looking far off herself, and deep within her own thoughts, as was Vader. Her father, as he cursed into the Force, cursed Kenobi, and cursed himself for letting his son, his Luke, get taken from him.

'Why did I let her get to me?! Why did I spare them for her?!' He demanded of himself as his eyes silently fell upon Leia but then quickly averted from her. The dark lord had to admit to himself, and he did it with great unwillingness, that it was how much Leia reminded him of her mother. Her hard brown eyes had turned into soft pleading brown pools that he could not in that moment not too long ago keep from looking into. They pleaded with him in the same manner her mothers eyes had, and especially so on that fateful day on that world of fire, ash, and lakes of fire. Vader felt no sense of affection for the girl, or at least that's what he said. Did he care for her? Yes, very much so, and he wanted her to become his apprentice, and heir to all he had, but did he love her? Love was an emotion that both Jedi and Sith shared the sentiment that it was weakness, but Vader could deny it to himself all he wished, but it would never be true. He had grown to love the girl, he loved her the moment he found out who she was, and though he felt incredibly awkward around her, she was his! So when she had pleaded with him, shown him the soft side of Leia, and not her overly aggressive and defensive haughty princess attitude, but her sense of compassion, Vader had caved, his heart had panged within his chest at the mere sight of her, and he caved. 'It's enough to drive a man insane!' He thought with annoyance, and anger radiating around him. For he recognized that he once again had an exploitable weakness….his love for his daughter, and it was going to be a hard fact to even dare to hide, for his master no doubt now knew something was wrong, or at least different with Vader with his sudden and unauthorized departure from Coruscant. 'Hopefully Kun is keeping the old man placated.' Vader thought as he continued to dwell and seethe in silence from his position overlooking the sand sea and the twin suns. Force, how he hated sand, coarse, unforgiving, annoying able to seep into every crevasse, and every nook and cranny. He missed anything as opposed to this! Coruscant, Naboo, even the ice balls of the galaxy like Rhen Var were far better than this pit…though Mustafar did give Tatooine a run for its credits.

"Father?" Vader turned sharply and saw Leia eyeing him, and once more he felt an odd amalgamation of emotions pop up inside him at hearing her refer to him as father, in a sweet and small voice. He inclined his head to acknowledge her silently.

"What…what are you thinking about?"

"Why do you ask?" Vader asked, as was usual of him. Indeed it was mere instinct as a Sith to always assess ones intentions and questions whenever they asked information of him, though it was Leia. She slightly reeled back at his tone but stood firm and faced him with her white cloak slightly blowing in the wind along with her brown hair.

"I just want to know is all. I can feel your anger, through the Force, I guess. I am getting better at feeling others emotions, but it's not hard to feel your anger. It's so….constricting." She whispered the last word, as if he would get angered at her for it, but Vader merely eyed her through his broken visor that allowed one eye to been seen and see clearly in turn, unlike the other eye. Which was still forced to see all through the red visor that tinted all.

"I….grew up here."
"Here? On Tatooine?" She asked with a voice clearly filled with disbelief, and even slight horror at the mere thought, and Vader nodded his helmeted head in reply.

"Yes. I was brought here at a very young age with my mother, who died here on this rock in the forgotten regions of the Outer-Rim. It was here that I was taken from to….my future." Vader said cryptically, as he halfway through the revelation remembered his desire not to tell anyone of his past life as Anakin Skywalker. Not even Leia…not yet at least. He could see he had succeeded in being cryptic as she cocked an eyebrow confusedly.

"Then, you're angry about your mother, my grandmother?"
"Many things." Vader conceded turning his gaze to the distant dunes as the troopers went about their clean up tasks behind him and Leia.

"This world reminds me of what I once was. What and who I used to be, and to think Luke…your twin brother was raised here all along while you were taken into wealth, and he sunk into the poverty stricken life of moisture farming, it makes me very angry indeed."
"Twin brother?" She repeated in a low voice, as she had not fully understood why her father had come here and Vader sighed and nodded, folding his black covered arms.

"It is a long story, and I myself have not put all the pieces together into a very coherent story, but I understand the majority. After I had sustained injury at the hands of Obi-Wan Kenobi, he took your mother, who was….dying," Vader intoned as he turned his head to look away from Leia, not being able to handle the thoughts that plagued his mind. "..to a world where she gave birth to twins, her children, and mine!" Vader boomed as Kenobi, and Organa flashed their faces into his mind and his jaw clenched in fury that permeated the Force, causing Leia to snap her head back up in shock at the purity of the rage.

"Kenobi, the Jedi, old fool that he is decided to take you and split you up with your brother. No doubt that senator, political crony and insignificant man Organa, took you because he is a failure in both politics and child creation!" Vader seethed and thought of both men as his fists balled, and his blood pumped like never before with rage induced adrenaline. "You lived in wealth, and you are not to blame Leia, but yet the Jedi, the oh so intelligent and holier-than-thou care givers that they claim to be, decided your brother, my blood, your blood, decided he should come to this world to be in poverty, to see nothing but sand, and burn, sweat and work for his life! Never to know greatness, never to be in wealth! To live and die in squalor and regret! How dare they!" Vader cried as the Force swirled in darkness and several troopers stopped what they were doing to snap their attention to their yelling commander, but quickly went back to work as he returned to folding his arms and staring off into the dunes, as Leia stepped back but held her gaze on Vader as she thought about what he told her.

Surely her fath…or Bail rather, wouldn't allow her brother, her flesh and blood brother to live in poverty and endless work for little wealth all his life while she never went wanting? How could someone do something so….so…cruel?! Why did the Jedi and Bail, if Vader was not lying, which by his anger made Leia question how he could be lying. But, how could they decide to reward her life with riches, and a happy peaceful home and world like Alderaan, while the brother she would have never known lived on this dust bowl this sandy wasteland of nothingness?

"Did they really do that?" She asked tentatively, but her heart already knew the answer even as Vader nodded and cast her a sideways glance.

"Lord Vader, sir!" A Stormtrooper marked as a commander called from behind the hulking and black clad Sith lord as he saluted. Vader turned and looked the trooper over before speaking.

"What is it commander?"
"My lord, there is a human approaching our position. My scouts see him running to us at great speeds, and he is carrying another human, male we think, on his back."
Vader paused for a moment before speaking as a thought suddenly occurred to him. Where was his apprentice?

"Commander, what is this person dressed in?"
"Dark cloak hanging loosely, grey tunic, military style short haircut."
"The other?" Vader asked as he stretched out his senses and felt Starkiller, but also another…and it felt familiar. It was here that his blood began pumping hard once more as thoughts went through his head. Thoughts that he knew he shouldn't get excited over, but he couldn't help it as the trooper spoke.

"Uh, tan clothing of seemingly poor, and local quality. We believe blond hair from the look of it. This one appears unconscious, my lord Vader sir." Vader didn't hear another word as he silently strode passed the trooper in massive and long strides as Leia silently followed, and was intrigued by her fathers sudden attitude shift, both physical and through the Force. While she herself could feel something getting closer, it felt familiar to her, and something in the back of her mind told her she was going to be greatly surprised and changed from this day on even more than already done to her in the past weeks.

The trooper followed lord Vader, as the Sith moved passed the cleanup crews of the 501st and paid them no heed, as his mind raced, and scenarios occurred that he couldn't fathom being true, but what if they were? How had his apprentice, that boy he so long ago found on Kashyyyk defeated Kenobi? Had he defeated Kenobi, was Luke dead?! No, no he couldn't be Vader could feel another presence and by the Force it was bright but untamed as Leia was, though she was becoming stronger. Starkiller his apprentice…how had he done it, but more importantly Vader realized the boy who he in all honesty thought low and little of in terms of an apprentice had done this. 'I will make you more powerful than your wildest dreams my apprentice! If you have succeeded this day, then you shall know my respect, my gratitude.' Vader silently vowed and climbed another dune where troopers with binoculars stood staring out into the distance.

The trooper silently looked over to his lord but said nothing and quickly returned to his duties with the ever present fear of being killed now in his mind as Vader stood by him followed by his commanding officer and the girl that was around Vader all the time lately. Vader looked out and saw it, his target. A cloud of sand forming behind his apprentice as Starkiller ran with the aid of the Force like a vehicle speeding through the deserts. Vader stretched out his senses once more and he felt to bright burning presences in the Force. His apprentice, how quickly sent an affirmation through the Force eager and elated, while the other was silent, and deep in a trance, but nonetheless bright and shinning inside the Force, and digging a little deeper Vader could feel it, see it, maybe even smell it. There was not a doubt, Starkiller had taken Luke from Kenobi and Organa, and behind his mask, eyes reopening Vader beamed a grin unlike anything in recent years.

"You may yet meet your brother Leia. Starkiller has done what I found to be near impossible, and he shall be greatly rewarded for it!"
"He has my twin? Luke?" She asked as a small ghost of a smile went across her face as the thought of a sibling, and a brother at that, made her unusually…happy! Vader nodded, as his mask took in those odd breaths that was telling of his breathing as it became fast with excitement and joy!

"Yes….my son, your brother, her son." Vader said quietly as a smiling but quiet vision of Padmé flashed in his minds eye. "Luke, my, no, our Luke." Vader said silent as the figures got ever closer, and in but a few more tense and near unbearable moments Starkiller ran to his master, up the dune, and panting heavily with sweat trickling across his face and soaking his clothing, the mere thirteen year old teen boy came to a stop and heaved in breaths with Luke Skywalker sprawled across his back. Starkiller was holding onto his arms and silently pleaded with someone to get the weight of the boy off his back, and Vader quickly ordered the commanding trooper to grab the unconscious boy, allowing a groan of relief to escape Starkiller.

"I have brought your prize, your objective to you master." Starkiller said and again panted as his brown eyes stared up to his master in eagerness for approval and a faint smile on his features.

"Forgive me for not being here sooner…" He said drawing in another massive breath and wiping the sheen of sweat from his brow.

"I had been taunted by that Jedi woman during my duel with her, and she foolishly forgot about telling me where the shuttle would be, so I hid and jumped silently aboard the ship before anyone could see me and masked my presence master, as you trained me! When they foolishly believed they escaped you I pulled the limp boy to me and opened an emergency hatch and jumped out, but landed safely I assure you. I knew I needed to return to you as fast as possible master, I hope I have done everything to your pleasure alone." Starkiller declared and fell to his knee in a bow as he submitted himself to his master, as his mind, and his heart begged the Sith lord to applaud him, or be happy with him. It was what he lived for. He could not fathom displeasing his master, and betraying him? That was a laughable idea to Starkiller.

Vader silently listened to his apprentice as he eyed the sleeping image of his son. Who seemed so content and silent. Tentatively, like he had with Leia, he reached out and ran his right, gloved hand across the boy's head and through his blond hair. The boy stirred, but did not awake as Vader sent calm, and assuring waves through the Force to the sleeping boy who smiled in his sleep, and Vader smiled in return as Leia approached and looked at the boy in the troopers arms, and smiled.

"Order a shuttle commander. Put this boy in it, gently, and await for my arrival, and get the legion in order, and ready to depart this 'world,' in a quick and orderly manner. We are leaving, and soon at that."
"Yes lord Vader, right away." The commander replied and motioned for his fellow trooper to order a ship from the Exactor, and they both made their way to a clearing, and Vader knew he could trust these soldiers. The 501st was anything but disloyal to him. However Vader saw Leia cast him a weary glance, and he took a minute to realize and understand that she was already a little worried about leaving the boy with them.

"If you wish, you may go with them, and act as their superior." Vader said loud enough for the troopers to hear and acknowledge. Her worry faded and she smiled before nodding and following the troopers, as Vader turned his attention to the still lowly kneeling and quiet apprentice of his.

"You have proved me and much of my doubt about you wrong this day apprentice." Vader said and Starkiller only bowed his head lower. "You have become strong, able, and powerful. The dark side flows in you strong, as does your loyalty. A fine Sith you have become, and an even stronger one you shall be as long as you are my apprentice. Together we can and will defeat the Emperor. However I must ask myself. What are your intentions, your ambitions, and wishes?"

"Only to serve you my master!" Starkiller replied as he jerked his head up to look his master in the eyes, as he could see one blue eye of his master, which was surprising but he didn't pay it too much mind.

"I care nothing for my own power master! I only ever wish to serve you and aid you in defeating the Emperor, I will gladly fight and die for you, your will, and even your children until my last breath, I swear master!" Starkiller said bowing his forehead into the sand as he lowered his head into a bow as deep as possible, until his back hurt from the odd bend he was in.

"We are at war, my apprentice. One that as you know is at our command, but now not as much with the addition of these droids of the Clone Wars and the Jedi forming a new faction. In this war, a new Sith order will rise, and replace the old. Darth Bane's millennium long experiment has been laid to rest. Lord kun will form his own cadre of acolytes who will serve him. The Emperor already has vast networks of acolytes and dark Jedi that only need refinement to be of real threat." Vader informed the ever quiet boy, who through the Force Vader could sense understanding and a will to serve ever more.

"New, and more Sith will rise, and a true war unseen since the Clone Wars is taking shape, and it will mold us all. I shall need you my apprentice in this coming fight, but I warn you that there are others. Other acolytes I have trained in the ways of the dark side, but none as much or as thorough as you, Starkiller." Vader said, as he intended on feeling the boys feelings of hurt and betrayal at being told he was not the only apprentice of his, but again he felt only loyalty, and behind his mask Vader slowly smiled and nodded his head. The boy was an open book to him.

"Very good. My prime apprentice you are, and with the rise of my children as my right hands you shall retain a position of power alongside them, and I expect nothing but loyalty, and submission to my will, and their's when appropriate."
"Yes, my master." Starkiller replied as his excitement grew.

"Very well then," Vader snatched up his saber, and activated the crimson beam and lowered it to the boy's right shoulder. "Henceforth, my apprentice, the dark side is your ally, and I your master, and your lord, and you, you are now my apprentice. In name, in secret, in power and ability, and from now on in public to all. Rise, Starkiller." Vader decreed and the boy was bursting with glee and dark satisfaction at his masters words. He was now officially his masters apprentice! He would make it known! Starkiller rose and bowed again. "By your will my master." He said and smirked, and Vader inclined his head.

"Now come Starkiller. Let us leave this world, and return to Coruscant. The Emperor will be greatly displeased with me but I have no doubt he will not be able or willing to play his cards wrong and lose me as an asset. Especially with the war looming over him. If he is a fool he will challenge me, and thus you, and even lord Kun, and die. However if not, then we play it safe, wait, plot, and then…we strike. Hard, fast, and swiftly."
"Yes my master. As you wish." Starkiller said with a glow of pride in his brown eyes.

They, and the 501st quickly then departed Tatooine. As the circle of power Vader commanded just continued to grow more powerful.

(Coruscant, Imperial palace)

"I demand to know why lord Vader took the Exactor, and left without informing me, Kun!" Palpatine demanded from his throne as he slammed his boney fist into the metallic armrest as Exar Kun, stood with his hands clasped behind his back with a passive and calm face, as two royal bodyguards stood on either side of him.

"Why, I know that he was tracking Bail Organa as of late my lord, but I know not why he left with such great haste as he did. Perhaps he discovered that the senator was plotting his revenge against me, or all of us for making him into a Galactic rebel traitor. R maybe the Moffs were doing something that required his immediate attention. I heard that the ship was still sending the appropriate security check-ins and following mission communication protocols, correct?"
Sidious sneered in obvious displeasure as his glowing and glowering yellow eyes bore into Kun's cool but just as Sith like steely grey eyes.

"Indeed they have. I want to know why he did this, and I am not as big a fool as you or even lord Vader may assume me to be! I know that you two coming together for the Dubrava mission was an act of cooperation rarely seen in Sith, and I know Vader can be far too trusting! He would have no doubt slipped you information pertaining to his erratic behavior or even broached you for an alliance against me!"
"My lord Sidious, please be serious!" Kun replied as he unclasped his hands and calmly folded his arms.

"Lord Vader keeps his own council. He is arrogant, unwilling to work with me on many ideas I have to lay waste to the Moffs and or rebels, and he is Force bent on accumulating his own power. To be frank he is damaged goods, and I would have not a clue what would be going through his head if I tried." Kun wasn't really lying, but adding on to several things he thought of Vader to make the old man happy with his response, and Sidious let loose a laugh that was also a scoff.

"Vader is beyond anyone's ability to understand, he is indeed an enigma, but I know he has come to you in possible attempt to topple me yes?"
"Of course lord Sidious!" Exar said smirking as the royal guards stiffened at his calm and almost laughing voice, as Kun slightly chuckled.

"You know as do I lord Sidious, that betrayal and accumulation of one's own power is the key philosophy to the Sith! To not do so is the acceptance of always being second best. Only those who actively plot, or at the very least think to topple or kill their superior is worthy of being a Dark Lord of the Sith. Trust me, I have my ideas on how to kill him and you, my lord." It was deathly quiet in the throne for a few tense moments as the guards grew stiffer and were confused as to whether kun had just admitted to being a traitor or was jesting.

Then Sidious cracked a large toothy grin before cackling his hoarse and dark cackle that too him a minute to rein in. "At least you are an honest if not conniving Sith lord Kun. I know about you. Once a fallen Jedi, apprentice of that Vodo Siossk-Baas. You corrupted an entire group of Jedi and turned them on their masters in the great Jedi Pogrom. I respect that about you really, as do I your command of those brutes, the Massassi. You admitting your ambitions only proves you are bold and truthful, another respectful quality."
"Why thank you my lord Sidious. I aim to please." Kun said smirking still and still staring towards the old man, his rival. As Sidious laughed, seemingly brought into a better mood, at Kun's ability to placate the lord through his bluntness. As Sidious waved the royal guards away the two continued on.

"I suppose Vader will have to make his actions known to me when he returns, and I will greatly enjoy, 'interrogating,' him to the fullest of my abilities."

"Oh I have no doubt of that my lord." Kun said smilingly.

"Now, forget this business of Vader. I thought you may have had some prior hand knowledge to his actions, but it seems you do not, but even if you did, it is pointless to lose an asset as useful as you at this time." Kun smirked at the hidden threat and meaning but said nothing.

"Tell me of the Great Sith War, lord kun. The history texts and information of that war is sketchy. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to read about the Great Hyperspace War as well."

"Hmm, well the war I took part in was one of great confusion really." Kun said truthfully, finding this sudden change in topic slightly odd.

"After I was turned to what I am by the spirit of Freedon Nadd, I sought out the other fools he had taught in rudimentary powers of the dark side. That witch and her all but obsessed cousin Aleema Keto was a weakling. Nothing more than a wielder of Force illusions and magic's of the lesser dark side. However, Ulic Qel-Droma he was something else, able to match me in battle, but a fool, and a hopelessly in love fool with that wench and vile woman, Nomi Sunrider." Palpatine laughed but allowed Kun to go on in his reminiscing.

"I had by this time dealt with Nadd's spirit and cast him back into the void where that old fool should remain. I went forth to liquidate his other students and would have easily dispatched Aleema had Ulic not interfered on her behalf. We dueled one another, until two amulets we had, one for myself and the other Ulic wore, began to react to one another. Before the both of us appeared the ancient lord Marka Ragnos. He proclaimed me the one who would allow the Sith as an order to remain, and christened me the Dark Lord. Ulic was made my apprentice, though he was more a colleague." Sidious nodded as he went on. Exar not knowing that Palpatine was attempting to get past Kun's mental defenses by wearing him down with this useless banter. Though the Emperor did find the information interesting.

"I have read through the extensive history files your palace contains for only some personnel and as such I find the fact that a remnant of Naga Sadow's empire under some Sith Emperor that reinvaded the galaxy many hundreds of years after my fall very disconcerting. Almost like a slap in the face really. The wars that followed the Great Sith War: the Mandalorian Wars, the Jedi Civil War, and the subsequent Great Galactic War, are all symptoms of a long running disease your majesty. The Jedi and Sith will always wage war with one another through the means of proxy forces if not with their own empires of republics. It is the fate of the two orders, or both adherents of both sides, dark and light will always duel for supremacy. As such I find going into depth about the Great Sith War rather pointless. It was but one of many Jedi-Sith Wars that have been waged and more will likely follow in this galaxy. It is inevitable." Kun declared with finality and Sidious grew annoyed in his inability to puncture the Sith lords extensive mental shields through secret and unfelt means.

"Now if you'll excuse me your highness, I must return to preparing my fleet for the Tapani invasion. I will gladly return when Vader does and brought before you." Sidious scowled but jerked his hand in a dismissive manner as the two Sith lords silently ended their meeting as the room had a chillingly cold feeling to it, as both had the dark side swell and swirl about them

"Vader owes me a big one after this!" Kun declared when far enough away from the palace, and went about his day and awaited his 'comrades,' return.

(Tatooine)

His body burned. Every inch of his body would spas and contract as his body had finally stopped smoking from the heat of the lightning, his lightning and the Jedi's. It was nighttime now, it was blistering cold in the nights of Tatooine, but Viathan opened his eyes as the pain made that all but unbearable. He looked up and saw the stars….they glowed bright and comforting almost, but he could not enjoy them. For Viathan had to stretch out his senses and he only was proven right in his assumption, and it burned him more than the lightning had. The fleet, lord Vader, Leia, Starkiller, all of them had left him behind. Not a one of them remembered him, aided him, or apparently didn't care. It made his chest tighten into a ball of anger, of rage, sadness, and envy. Force how long had he been laying here? When he was knocked unconscious the twin suns burned brightly as morning began to give into midday. Now it was dark, and cold, and if he were honest with himself utterly terrifying in the dark vast emptiness of Tatooines dune seas.

He opened his mouth to make a witty comment to himself but found his throat too dry, and hoarse and it hurt to even move his cracked and charred lips, so he didn't bother, as breathing enough sent sharp pains through his body.

'Does master even know? Did lord Vader tell him? Had he even returned to Coruscant, and would master care?! If they do come will it be too late?' Viathan mentally demanded of himself as his loneliness fully took hold of him, the pain unbearable, and the cold nipping bite of Tatooines night only hurt him more as his nerves twitched and panged.

'See? What did I tell you boy? No one cares for you, only I do, and what is best for us is what is best for you, and what is best for you is the surrendering of yourself fully to me.' The voice, of course it was the voice! Why wouldn't that ever present mental disease of his pop up, and even now in his darkest and most degrading moment. Unmoving, incapable of it, angry, afraid, alone! So Viathan growled and used the pain to give him strength to feed his darkness and the dark side before he screamed into the empty and deadly silent skies.

"Leave me be for once, Force damn you!" His voice ripped through the air and echoed across the land stirring up nothing but Bantha's and Krayt dragons, and maybe a Tusken far off in the distance. However, now his throat stung worse than before and felt dry and in dire need of any liquid, but Viathan didn't care anymore, why not rot?! Why not allow the Force to claim him here and now, and cat him into the darkness, the void of the Force where all those who gave into darkness went?! Why, why should he finally be given a break in this galaxy, this universe?! The fates, the universe, the Force doesn't give him a break! He was not meant to even be born so why expect aid, peace or comfort now?!

'You're weak! But I can make you strong, allow me to!' Viathan laughed knowing full well it would hurt him and make his throat burn.

"Why? You are me, as I am you. We are both Valek Zalliste, son of some dumb Jedi dead woman and a madman Kalev Zalliste!"
'You foolish boy, I am not Valek Zalliste! I am you that is true, but I am no Valek Zalliste, don't you see? Valek is a weakling, and you still hide behind his façade! You cling to your past while not seeing the future before you! You have taken the title but have not embraced the power, the change the true way of darkness!'

"What dribble are you talking about now Force damn it?!" Viathan demanded into the night of Tatooine as his blood boiled in rage, his eyes glowing the sickly yellow of a Sith Viathan used all the pain that coursed through him to give him strength enough to rise to a sitting position, but afterwards he panted at how much it hurt and he cried out in pain, once more echoing the valley and sending great waves of power through the Force while doing so.

'You feel, and hear me more potently the more pain you are in, why is that? It is the dark side boy! I am you, and allow me to remind you why I exist!' Viathan gasped as a searing pain shot through his head and memories of all his past indignities went through his minds eye in a flash.

The beatings: the torture, the belittlement, the mental abuse, the foul curses of his instructors of the Force of war, of battle, of death, of pain, and then there was the memories of his true weakness. The touching of a man, the disgusting and dirtying touch of his hands upon his flesh, his young body being….used, beaten and broken, a plaything for that man, it made him sick, and he lurched as bile nearly came forth as his body shivered in horror and dirtiness.

"Why…why are you showing me this?! This proves nothing!" Viathan cried as he realized he was now on his hands and knees, the pain still present, and much to his shame tears flowed from his eyes freely, and they fell for many reasons, as his body shook violently.

'Your master, Kun, calls you Viathan. Taken from the great Sith beasts of war, of old, the Leviathans of war. They in turn received their name from the original Leviathan. You know this you have heard the tale, I am you and you are me, this is shared knowledge but humor me. The Leviathan was a beast, a great creature in service to darkness that devoured all in its path. Always wanting more, but never full or fulfilled by its consumption. It is the great beast of Envy, there are other beasts of legends, pride, greed, lust, and gluttony. DO you find it coincidence that you were named after the beast of envy considering you envy everything that you see?! Why is that, Valek?'

"Because, everyone has a better life than I. There are those lying in their death beds, in pain, they are better off than me. There are those being tortured, but they too are better off. There are others in the galaxy who are in worse off, or better situations than me, but still I am worse off! I hate everyone so much!" Viathan cried as he dug his hands into the sand beneath him in rage as he still shook.

"I was never meant to live! I am a mistake, a fluke of the Force that a sick man created me! I am created to serve to bite my tongue to do as told follow all directives I have been conditioned to follow protocols must be followed! I want out but I will never be out! I am a slave, a willing slave that wants more, but will never have it, never attain it, and now?! Now I have been left behind after aiding those who I follow into death! FORCE WHY DIDN'T I JUST DIE?!" Viathan screamed as the Force boomed around him and sand flew away from him as the dark side danced around him, as he breathed in heavy breaths. The pain doing nothing but aiding and empowering him.

'Then you are the beast of envy, you are the coming of a great leviathan from the ancient times of tales and legends in unknown parts of the galaxy. However, you are not Viathan, not yet, you are still Valek. Hiding behind the name, the visage of Viathan until you need it. I…I am Viathan. I am the one you have always wanted to be. The strong, powerful, and unstoppable being you have always wanted to be, yet failed to accept. I am your true calling, your true face, but you hide and retain your identity as Valek. The weak, powerless, fool that sees nothing but work ahead of you, but I see opportunity! We, and I can build this galaxy into a powerhouse, based on our will and our doctrines! We may be the willing slave, a beast of envy, we may be Darth Viathan one day, but we are Viathan until the. Come Valek….accept Viathan, accept your inner darkness at last, and we shall shape this galaxy into our image along with our masters! Let us show the galaxy, the Emperor, your master, lord Vader, Leia, all of them! That Viathan shall not be cast aside! The force itself is against us yet here we are! We must claw, bite, gnash, bleed, and kill to survive but we shall survive and through me, in union at last with your true identity we shall shape our destiny along with that of our master. It is our destiny. Accept me Valek, accept Viathan, at last…..'

Pain coursed through him, tears flowed freely as everything came to him. Memories, pain, loneliness, envy…..always it was envy. He envied everyone, he hated himself, he hated Valek! Valek is weak, scared, afraid and never capable of fighting for himself! Twice that Jedi has nearly killed him, and twice he has failed to kill her, his first Jedi actual kill! Now everyone had abandoned him, because he is weak! They don't want weak little Valek around, they want Viathan! He took in several deep, painful breaths as his shakiness finally began to abate. As he imagined the man from his dreams, no, himself from his nightmares. The tall hooded man, wearing armor that fit with the Sith way of cloth, a mask upon his face, unseeing and unemotional. A blank slate that inspired fear. His left hand a clawed and stabbing hand, a weapon. His right hand, that of a monster, dripping in blood, for it is his own human hand. He is the monster, he is the Leviathan from the deep. He is Darth Viathan.

"I accept what I am." Valek, no Viathan declared, and suddenly the dark side coursed through him as he relinquished all self control, and the dark side boomed forth from himself. He felt all pain fade to dull numbness as he absorbed it all fully, his sense of hate for himself suddenly converting into a similarly dull and numb sense of apathy, and apathy it felt good. The lack of caring, of emotion altogether, was relieving, and invigorating.

For as Valek allowed his true self the true Viathan within him to take over, silencing the voice, he didn't know that as he began walking through the deserts of Tatooine almost and seemingly aimless, his eyes no longer were yellow, but a deep shade of crimson red.

This was the beast, this was Darth Viathan.
