Aren't I a wonderful writing leaving you guys with that terrible cliff hanger and not updating for months? Yeah, I apologize for that, a lot of shit I've been going through and I'm finally getting everything back together. Also… Smite got in the way. Good game I might add. Anyway, I won't bore you with details, here's the next chapter.

Chapter 3

Day Terrors

Saturday June 23rd, 2012 (present)
Tuesday June 23
rd, 2043 (future)

There were four of these Them characters chasing them on duel runners through the highway. Jack turned to his friend. "Is this far enough that they won't limp back to the apartment?"

"Looks far enough; you can handle two of these guys right?" Yusei asked him.

"Who do you think you're talking to? I am Jack Atlas not some duelist wannabe."

Yusei smirked. "See you on the other side."

Jack shook his head as Yusei drove off onto an onramp. Two of them followed him leaving the other two with Jack.

"Let's see how well you fair against the duel king!" He called out as he made contact with the two blokes in the back on the mic.

"Former duel king, worthless scum. We are just here to mop up the mud off the floor so someone doesn't create an accident."

"Why you, prepare to know who is really the mud on the floor is!"

00000

Yusei pulled an illegal move as he got onto the upper highway and drove off the side onto a different highway below. He needed to know how far these people would go to get him. To his surprise. The two motorists that followed him got more air and almost landed on top of him. He barely swerved out of their way. They played dirty; what else would they do to take him out of the picture?

"Stop messing around: give up or duel and lose." One of the drivers told him before slamming against his runner with his own.

Yusei drove faster just as the other driver went to hit his runner. That was his baby and these two were scratching up the paint. "Like I'd give up to a bunch of scums like you."

00000

"You alright, Bakura?" Yugi asked.

"No, I'm pissed off that we have a bunch of assholes behind us and Nile and Regan are back there with minimal protection of one duelist, two children, and some officer that thinks he's better than everyone else." Ryou spat.

He was furious that he was stuck out here with the best duelists playing tag even though he could see it was obviously a trap to get them out of the way. He didn't have much of a deck that killed quickly and that's what he needed right then if it led to a duel. Even with the upgrades to face the future world of dueling. Not to mention if they split up; it was going to be two on one, which was not healthy on his deck for any quick kill. He was ready to deal with them if it came to that, for Nile's sake.

00000

Atem was still a little unsure about the whole duel runner system. He had time to play around with it, but the way the four people behind him and Crow drove, he felt slightly outmatched. It was like riding a really fast, horrible death, if trashed, horse. What could go wrong when adding a card game to it? Well, a bad hand for a start, because that is what he had. Hopefully, he could draw something to make everything fit together, but for now the lights were on Crow as he summoned Blackwing- Gale the Whirlwind and use its ability to halve the opponent's Naturia Barkion. Crow summoned another monster to set up for a synchro summoning.

00000

Akiza stood outside listening to the traffic and her runner giving her updates on the five duels. Ryou Bakura seemed ready to blow a fuse while he fought against the two others while Yugi was leading on his two to a simple path of destruction. Yusei was racing through the city without the auto drive on as the two members tried to trash him and his runner. There wasn't much dueling on his end other than the few moments they had before it went back to avoiding and kamikaze attacks. Jack was holding his own by defending against six samurai and Naturia monsters. Crow was being Crow and dive bombing the opponents as Atem seemed to be having some trouble keeping up with the set up they had formed, but was secure with the lock down of two Millennium Advisers. She turned back to the house as the feed switched to Jack blowing up something with Red Dragon Archfiend. It was too quiet and someone should have shown up to pick up the pieces the six duelists left behind. Leo had gone back inside to see how Regan was doing while Trudge and Luna were there protecting the room in case something got passed Akiza. But it was unlikely as she had Black Rose Dragon circling the area; unless they could teleport, but that wasn't invented yet for the general public at least. She turned back to look at the fountain as the door opened and closed behind her.

"Regan is still down. She wasn't responding to anything Luna and I did." Leo stated as he sighed. "But other than that she is breathing normally and her heartrate is fine like you told me to check. The whole light thing and the eye creeped me out, but that was fine too, the only thing that actually responded actually.

"She needs rest, after a shock like that. It will take time for her body to adjust." She told him. "But I'm glad that she is doing well after that scare."

"You know what happened to her right?"

"I know, I went to school."

"So you didn't think twice about-"

"Of course not!" She answered as her dragon cried out and Akiza looked over back at the fountain to see two of Them casually walking towards them. No one around there wore suits like that after getting out of a 'candy' van. "We have company."

"Good, I was thinking I was going to be left out of being a hero, again." Leo said as he activated his duel disk.

"Children, step aside and let us get what we came for and no one has to get hurt." The female said seductively.

"My sister just happens to be on your plate, so I think I'll pass on letting you pass."

"It was just a slight misunderstanding, we just want the aura user." The other male said as he placed up his hands. "I promise. Just bring out the girl and we'll leave you and your sister alone."

"Never, you'll have to get through us and the slim chance of that never happening, the others will be back before we are done to kick your asses." Akiza growled as she placed her dragon back in her extra deck. "Now prepare to wish you were never born."

The female grinned. "That's cute, I was just about to say the same thing. We have lots of ideas on what we could do with a psychic duelist."

Akiza was taken back on how much these people knew. It only pissed her off more. "Shut up and duel."

00000

Luna heard the conversation taken place outside as monsters were being summoned. How did they know about her or Akiza? What about the others like them? Were they going to take all of the people like them for their army or was it going to be like World War II and they planned a mass genocide with the ones they thought were a threat? Both ways were scary to think about. Regan was now on the couch without any expression other than the few times she cringed in pain or whimpered for a split second before going quiet again. Luna didn't know much about aura, but she guessed the pain Regan was going through to adjust with it gone was like a heroin addict going through withdrawal at least she had the comfort of not being awake with the outside stresses, though she wished that Regan was so they weren't sitting ducks and her not be able to defend herself. Luna was capable of defending, but she had read that Regan was a great duelist and the added bonus of a FTK on Trudge was astounding. Kuribon appeared next to her and Luna hugged her tightly. It was only a matter of time before someone was getting into the apartment. Trudge was pacing slightly in heavy thought.

"Do you think they will come back before someone comes in here?"

"If anyone does, they have to go through me both through a duel and physically." Trudge answered. "And whatever else they try and do."

"You know you aren't a bad person right?" Luna told him. She was seeing through his tough guy act. "You don't need to prove anything."

"I'm not proving anything. I'm doing my job. But, I was a bad kid in the past and now that's come back to bite me in the butt. To tell you the truth, those… kids are proof of how people are left with scars. The way I reacted to it was reverting back to my childhood fears. I do need to make it up to him at least."

"Him? Do you mean Yugi or Atem?"

"Both, and this is the only thing I can do for them. Regan is important to Yugi and the same for Yugi being important to Regan and my reaction towards her was just another pothole added to the damaged road."

"Well that's touching an all, but nobody really cares." A voice stated from the door. Luna snapped her head over to it in shock to find a man leaning against the wall. "Seriously, if you really cared then you would have known that they already forgave you like… ages ago. The sob story makes you seem like you want the attention."

"How long have you been there?" Trudge growled.

"In this particular spot or the room in general?"

"The room."

"Oh, five minutes I think. I checked up on our lovely prize and then fooled around with my deck to see if you guys would notice, turns out the officer was so into his tiny brain and the spirit girl was too busy worrying about someone coming in that you two didn't notice that someone was actually here. I decided to let myself be known before taking away our prizes instead of just, coming and going."

"Cocky bastard,"

"How'd you get in here?" Luna asked him. Something in his deck was actually really scary and seemed very much conscious. She really just wanted him gone, but she was also really curious how he got in without the use of a window or a door.

"I teleported in here." He answered looking at his nails. "I have a special relationship with one of my cards. He was actually dying to see his favorite victim that he kind of just brought me here. Unfortunately, it seems like she isn't conscious to be affected by anything we do in here."

"You're sick."

"You should meet my friend, I'm nothing in comparison."

"Who are you so I have a name to give to the others when they get back and find your unconscious body on the floor?" Trudge questioned him warily.

"Jason," The man smirked. "It's unfortunate that only the audience knows of me and they are silent. But hey, if you don't want to be met with nightmares, or dead at your age, you could just let me leave with the two girls."

"Not happening." Trudge told him. "Luna and Regan are staying right here."

"Now, if Regan was awake, she probably would have told you to take Luna and leave and let her handle me. She barely made it out alive the last time we met, but at least she knew her bounds. She went out on a four percent win. You on the other hand, have no chance with several miracles to win or as you put it earlier physically beat me either. So if you like living, please stand down. I'm not really in the mood for elderly abuse today."

Trudge activated his duel disk and Jason sighed also doing the same. "Luna stay out of this okay, if it gets messy, get Akiza to take Regan and get the hell out of here."

"Oh, I forgot to state something before," Jason said suddenly snapping his fingers. Dark purple and black covered the windows. "No one is leaving this room, this is a shadow game. And no sweetheart, that means no zapping the aura user with you to the spirit world while I'm busy."

00000

Seto leaned back off the desk. He had fallen asleep and now he had a kink in his neck. He looked up at the clock and noticed it was almost two. "For fuck sake-" he stopped to look around the room and noticed the two girls that were there the night before were gone, but the blankets that were left in their places. He stood up and headed out of the room to find Téa and Fonda just outside the door holding food. "Why the hell didn't you wake me?!"

"Good afternoon Kaiba." Téa answered sarcastically. "For the same reason that we left you to sleep because you would blow a blood vessel if we woke you up. Personally I thought this was the less blowing-up-in-our-faces option. The only way we are going to find out the woman that did this is if we all have a good rest."

"Don't pull that bunchies logic with me. You should have got me up because time is fucking important."

"Bunchies? Is that a cereal or something?"

"No! It is the name I'm calling your geek squad because half of them are missing."

"And bunchies was just the first thing that came to your mind. You do realize that isn't a word right?"

"Screw it, I have money. If I say it it's a god damn word, bunchies is now a word for you small group of dorks."

00000

"God dammit," Crow suddenly shouted in the middle of his turn. "I knew I forgot something."

Atem raised an eye brow. "What?"

"I forgot to have my bunchies."

"What the hell are bunchies?"

"A cereal; Seto Kaiba and the Bunchies. It started off as an insult, or at least that's the rumor and now it's a beautiful piece of delicious art that literally gets you through shit days like this."

00000

"You are delusional if you think that is ever going to stick." Téa commented before pushing her way passed him. "Now, are we going to nail this chick or not?"

He sighed, her logic was actually logical. "What did you find?"

"Our list has been lowered by a few people. You don't have many female staff members here so it's not terrible list, but there is still an abundant amount of female staff."

"I'm aware, so all the files are divided out of the male files?"

"Yup, did that this morning." Fonda said cheerily and he nodded.

"Hand me the files that-" He stopped in the middle of his sentence as a sharp pain went through his head and tripped backwards into the desk. He gripped it for balance until the pain was tolerable. The last time he felt it a pain like that, that strong, was way back to the incident in the arcade with Steve. Something happened to Regan and no, he wasn't going to wrap his head with the logic of time space for him to feel her pain. Unless, "There's a door still partially opened to the future."

"Kaiba, are you alright?" Téa asked with worry laced in her words.

"Regan is going through something," He answered just as another sharp pain ran through his head. He couldn't put into words what it was. "We need to hurry up and find the staff member and find the door that is still opened somewhere on the island."

The two girls nodded and he grabbed a bunch of files from the pile and sat down before a jump in the pain spike came again and wanted to knock him off his feet. It was bad enough that these two already saw him like that. He had a reputation to uphold and a sister to find, fast.

00000

"Sorry you bloody fucks, but I have places to be." Ryou spat as his standby phase came. "H comes to the field and spells DEATH, hope you have a fun time in Hell. Be thankful I don't send your asses to the Shadow Realm."

His death cards pulsed and sent the two runners behind him all over the place before exploding. He wasn't holding back anymore and didn't care if they were killed. Serves them right as far as he was concerned. He kept riding until he found an exit to head back to Yusei's apartment.

"Bakura, how are you handling?" Yugi asked through the runner's system. They had been separate since turn two.

"I just finished with these two blokes, I'm heading back now."

"Same, not sure if I killed one of them though, the runner jumped the bridge and into the water below."

"My two had their runners blow up in their faces, but that's their problem." Ryou answered and realized something as he said it. "They were probably rigged to kill the rider. Removing the bad links."

"Yea probably. I tried contacting Akiza and Trudge, but neither are answering. I'm going to call Yusei to see how he and Jack are doing and get him to call the twins."

"I'll do that, you get a hold of Atem and Crow, the pharaoh probably wants to hear from you personally anyway."

"True. Alright see you back at the apartment."

The call ended and Ryou did just as he said he was going to do and called Yusei. The line rang and Yusei answered almost right after the first ring. "You okay?"

"Was just about to ask the same thing. How's Jack and you?"

"Jack just finished up a move making Red Dragon Archfiend attack twice with 4000 attack points. I finished up literally five minutes ago and heading back, but it's going to take me a while. I had to drive to the other side of the city to get anywhere without being killed."

"Alright, oh, give the twins a call, Yugi can't get Akiza or Trudge."

"Akiza isn't picking up?"

"No,"

"I'll do that now, Leo always has his phone on him and will pick it up on a rollercoaster going a hundred kilometres an hour."

"Thanks, give me a shout when you hear from them."

Yusei nodded, Ryou loved video calls. "Nile and Regan are probably fine." Ryou hated video calls. "They have four duelists that are excellent."

"Sometimes that's not enough. I wish Nile was actually able to protect Regan. I would feel ten times better."

"You have a lot of confidence in Nile, huh?"

"Of course, she knows a lot about everything and can handle random events as they come. It's what she does."

"You should tell her that when Regan puts together the puzzle."

"I think I will chap. Now call them, I'm already driving way passed the speed limit here." Ryou answered and hung up on him before Yusei could say another thing. When everything was said in done, he was going to say a lot of things to Nile, it was just going to take a while to put together and him to gather the courage to confront the spirit. Everyone thought they got along great, but the truth was Nile somewhat intimidated him and he wasn't able to say a lot of the things he would like to say to her.

00000

Atem ready his final play as he got a call. He hit the answer button, but didn't bother to look at it as he went back to what he was doing. "Millennium Dragon, uses its ability to deal 3500 damage to number one and he attacks you directly number two!"

The dragon activated its ability without disruption and the first runner ran into the wall sending the rider onto the road and the second rider couldn't avoid the attack and he flew off onto the highway below while his bike ran over the first driver. Atem winced, that probably wasn't the way they wanted to go.

"I want to congratulate you, but that was just a disturbing end."

"You guys meet a terrible fate too?" Yugi's voice asked.

Atem looked down and saw Yugi on the screen. "Very, you finished up as well?"

"Everyone is, we are heading back, Yusei and I are going to be taking a while to get back as we drove a very long way, Bakura is probably going to be the first one back, where are you two?"

"Circling Kaiba Corp." Crow answered. "It's going to take us about half an hour before we get back."

"Bakura will be there in about ten minutes by the looks of it." Yugi said as he clicked the screen. "No- five, he's driving insanely fast. Anyway, keep safe guys, see you at the finish."

Yugi hung up and Atem turned to Crow. They managed to deal with twelve of Them. They were almost out of the desert. "Hopefully everything is working out back at base."

"With Akiza, Leo, Luna and Trudge, Regan is in safe hands."

"I believe you for the first three, but Trudge seems to be lacking in spark. Regan did yell at him before that incident happened. I hope he doesn't feel too bad about it. She and Nile both get snappy when they aren't feeling good. If Regan was up she would have apologized for her temper."

"And she's a Kaiba?"

"She had a Canadian upbringing. Even when they are right they still apologize when they hurt a friendly's feelings. It's downright weird when she is snapping at Joey and she apologized before he can."

Crow laughed. "I bet, but I doubt she apologizes for insulting someone deliberately."

"No, no that tongue is needle sharp."

"Well I can't wait to hear that the apology and the look on Trudge's face."

00000

Akiza's Black Garden was doing its toll on the two members of Them. While her cards were destroying theirs, Leo was racking in the points on slaughtering their life points while protecting their cards. Now was the finale. "I activate Black Rose Dragon's affect. I banish Witch of the Black Forest to turn your Rose Token into attack mode and it doesn't have any attack points. She attacks it and deals you with 2400 attack points of damage!"

The female opponent scream and dropped to the ground as her life points hit 0. She was lucky Akiza didn't place up her abilities on the table to make her fly. The male of the group seemed panicked as Leo drew a card. "Power Tool Dragon, attack him directly!"

"No please! I'll be- GAH!" the male begged and he dropped to the ground and didn't move.

Akiza turned off her duel disk and placed her cards back into her deck. That was simple enough, but why would he be panicking at the end of that. It was a duel not a severe death match she was bringing to the table. She wandered over to the two people and realized foam was pouring from their mouths. "So that's what he was going on about. I guess a nice strategy but still."

"Akiza what is it?" Leo asked as he started to come over.

"Stay over there," She ordered him. He didn't need to see the mess in front of her. Luckily his phone rang and he turned his attention to it. She pulled out her phone and realized she had several missed calls as her phone was on silent. She heard Leo mention Yusei's name and left the missed calls be, and dialed for an ambulance. Perhaps they were still revivable, but she doubted it. She got off the phone and walked over to Leo.

"Nah, we kicked their butts Regan and Luna and both safe!" Leo exclaimed with glee. An explosion came from inside the apartment and his face dropped in shock. "Not safe! Not safe! Repeat code emergency! Got to go!"

~Leo! Leo!~ Yusei's voice shouted from the phone before he hung up and Akiza followed Leo towards the building.

Akiza realized quickly that they couldn't get in when they opened the door and a black and purple wall covered the entrance. She looked over at the windows and noticed that they also had the same stuff in the way. "How?"

00000

Luna screamed as she covered her eyes from the explosion. She looked again and saw a jester like creature sitting on a throne with a grin on his face. She shivered at the duel monster's spirit. It definitely had an ego, but scary wise, it wasn't really. But it was the thing she sensed in Jason's deck.

"What kind of opening was that?" Trudge asked. "Seriously, I was expecting something more terrifying than a joker."

"A joker? I am a king, a god in the duel monsters world." The monster responded before turning towards Luna. "Oh, aren't you the spirit girl? I've heard of you from my world. I apologize for this, but I can't let you go once this game is over."

Luna stepped back.

"Yes, I knew you were going to go with her." The creature hissed in distasted. "All the monsters know and are waiting for you. Too bad you're not going to make it."

Luna wanted to say something to throw him off her plan, but he disappeared from the throne. She looked around before feeling something behind her. She turned around to find it standing over her and swatted her like a fly into Yusei's computer and she lost consciousness.

00000

Ryou flew into the circle barely avoiding two people that lied on the ground and got off the runner as it barely stopped. Akiza and Leo were just staring at what he knew well was shadow magic. "Dammit, dammit, dammit!" He growled as he ran over.

"Bakura!" Leo said slightly relieved but a terrified expression was still on his face. "We can't get in, there was an explosion-"

"I know, Yugi told me." he answered and left the outside as he ran into the Shadow Game, lucky for him, he was a Shadow user and he could easily slip into them. On the other side he saw Fabled Leviathan attack Trudge sending him into the wall. The officer didn't get up as Jason gathered unconscious Luna in his arms. "Put her down you git!"

"Oh, our British friend is here." Jason said with a bit of a happy tone. "Leviathan mind if you grab the aura user?"

"With pleasure." The creature growled and appeared next to Regan and picked her up roughly, the River's Puzzle pieces fell to the ground in a neat pile. It made a knot form in Ryou's chest.

"Let her go fruit loop!" He growled dangerously. "Let them both go and no one has to get hurt."

"That's cute seeing a pacifist like this. It's not every day I'll tell you that." Jason sighed. "But no can do. See you later?"

"Bastards!" He shouted as he jumped over the rail, Shadow's ready for attack, but when they reach their mark, they were gone. "Why, why am I always too late?!"

00000

Regan grunted as she was slowly tried to wake up, she felt empty and nothing. It was weird and she didn't understand why, it scared her not to feel any other people around. She tried moving her arms and when she couldn't, her eyes flashed up. Her hands were cuffed to a stone wall that reminded her so much to when the Dragon Slayers kidnapped her in Vancouver. She tried to make some sort of aura, but nothing happened. She felt like screaming as she tried again, but nothing happened.

"Regan, calm down, its fine." Luna's voice entered her ears and she looked towards her.

"What's fine? I can't use my aura. I don't feel it even existing, I didn't even know you where there. What happened? How did we get here? Where are Yugi and the others? Where's my puzzle?"

Luna waited patiently for her to finish before speaking. "You lost consciousness when you had an overdose on aura. Nile came up with a risky solution and locked your abilities when she released the excess aura. Your puzzle shattered afterwards and you stopped breathing. Akiza revived you and shortly after that the guys except for Trudge, Leo and Akiza went out as a diversion against the twelve people. I don't know what happened to them after that. Akiza and Leo went outside to defend the house from any more attacks, but while they were busy, someone named Jason teleported inside and his monster knocked me unconscious so I couldn't escape with you. Trudge lost I guess and now we are here.

"I don't blame him for losing against him. Jason is not one to mess with." Regan shivered at her nightmares from the Fabled Leviathan. "What time is it?"

It's probably the twenty-fourth now, close to dawn."

Regan tugged again at the cuffs, but to no success, then the thought of Nile came to her. "Nile locked my abilities you said?"

"Yea, it so that you didn't become unstable while the puzzle was broken and so you wouldn't be affected by any more aura attacks from these guys. She even locked your shadow abilities."

"You sound impressed." Regan commented.

"Well I am, but I'm also sad that it was the only solution." Luna replied. "She placed so much into everything just to protect you and now we are here with nothing to defend ourselves."

"Your spirit monsters can't help you?"

"I don't have any monsters that are a high enough attack to get through this barrier they placed on these cuffs."

"So, where are we?"

"I don't know and I don't like it. Kuribon is trying to figure that out now."

"Kuribon?"

"She's one of my most trusted duel monster spirits.

"I thought you couldn't summon any."

"I couldn't, she summoned herself from the spirit realm and was the only one able to slip through the barrier."

"What is your highest attack point monster?"

"Only 2100 attack points. Duels don't rely on high attack points all the time."

"I'm aware and I half to admit, that pretty gutsy to play that way." Regan smiled. "Is it possible for you to summon my monsters?"

"I can try, but I'll let you know if there is an issue. What monsters do you think would help us from your deck?"

"I would say Dark Magician Girl, but she only has 2000 attack points so, Guardian Angel Joan and Van'Dalgyon the Dark Dragon Lord are the other two in my trio."

Luna nodded and closed her eyes. Time passed and she sighed. "They can't come through, the barrier. And when one of your other monsters tried, I believe it was Five-Headed Dragon, the barrier didn't budge. They took every possible option into consideration."

"And there is nothing for me to do to get out of this situation except maybe seduction in this outfit."

"That seems wrong."

"It was a joke." Regan told her with a sigh. "I wouldn't fall that low, my ego won't allow me."

Suddenly a brown puffball that looked a lot like Kuriboh came in and urgently spoke to Luna leaving Regan out of the conversation and then quickly left.

"What was that about?"

"She said that people were coming." Luna told her with a scared voice. "With a lot of instruments."

"I'm going to presume that the puff wasn't talking about the music kind. I really miss hearing a good Linkin Park song."

"Who?"

Regan gave her a raised eyebrow. "When we get out of here, I need to show you some music."

"You two aren't going anywhere any time soon." A male voice told them as he and three other people came in.

"Who the heck are you guys, the Fantastic Four?"

"You seem to be in good health for someone who hasn't had their stabilizer on for almost sixteen hours."

Regan didn't answer him. She didn't like how much they knew about her and her abilities and she barely knew anything. She really wished Nile was here.

"We did plan on saving you from that overdose once you were in our custody and dealt with your spirit friend respectively, but lucky for us, she did all the work."

She glared at them and really wished she had something to deal with them, but she was an ordinary girl for the time being with only the tings Seto had taught her, unfortunately none of that was really going to help her right now.

"Prep her for extraction, she needs to be at her weakest and only after we hit the reserves, so make sure she can't move or isn't bleeding anywhere. The last thing we need is an incident like that at the Dragon Slayers Headquarters."

"What happened at the headquarters? Who are the Dragon Slayers?" Luna asked and she screamed as the man slapped her.

"Open your mouth again and I'll find someone to sew it shut." The man growled grabbing her chin violently, "Are we clear?"

"Let her go!" Regan shouted at him in anger. "She didn't do anything wrong."

"I know that, I was just sending the message along if she does do something, there will be consequences." The man replied with a sharp glare at the girl before turning back to Regan. "You on the other hand have yet to serve any punishments for all the trouble your family, friends and you have caused us."

"Your very exist is punishment enough for all the trouble you've cause us." Regan replied back.

The man walked up to her slapped her hard. The hand stayed a second too long as she grabbed it with her teeth and didn't let go as he tried to pull it away. He grabbed her jaw with his other hand and she released it unwillingly.

"You are like an animal, an untamed animal thinking you can defeat us."

"I'm a person you scumbag." She hissed before spitting out his blood on his shoe. "I'm not tameable."

"You'd be surprised how easy it is to break someone." He replied grabbing the back of her hair and reefed on it. She squeaked in pain. "Get her prepped to enter stage two."

The three people came closer to her and she saw needles and tubes in one of the people's hands. The other held two poles, she didn't have a clue on what they could be, and the third held restraints. As the person with the poles grew closer she placed all her weight on one knee and kicked the guy holding her away and into the pole guy. It would have been stronger if she was able to place aura into it.

"This bitch is crazy." The pole guy muttered still on the ground and the leader of the group grabbed a pole and jabbed her with it. Electricity ran through her body as she screamed and then it stopped for a second just to have it jabbed into her again. The second time didn't hurt as much as she was expecting it, but it still sucked nonetheless. "Doesn't feel good does it, cattle prodders aren't toys little girl."

"You can alllll go fuck yourselves." She huffed out in her heavy breathing. It wasn't a pleasant experience and she shouldn't be pissing them off in her state. But it was to delay whatever they had planned. Maybe she could get more information from them or maybe Luna could be using the diversion to find a way for a duel monster to help them out besides Kuribon. "Why the needles?"

The pole guy jabbed her sending electricity into her again. "You'll find out."

The leader man pulled out a gun that looked exactly like the net guns back in the Dragon Slayer's Headquarters. She raised an eyebrow in curiosity. "Oh, you recognize this do you?"

"Kind of hard to forget something that steals away a part of your life essence, so ya I do." She told him as his blood ran down one side of her chin while her blood ran down the other side. She probably looked like a vampire, it was an interesting thought. She stopped with the stupid thoughts and continued, "I was expecting something not so archaic though."

"Don't knock something if it works as they say." He replied wiping her blood off of her face before he shot the net at her chest. It wrapped itself around her, but it didn't have the same effect it had before. She didn't feel weakened. "Why isn't it working?"

"You tell me,"

"You think this is funny, do you?"

"Is amused the same thing as thinking of something funny? You probably broke it."

"Tell me what that Egyptian spirit did." Regan didn't say anything keeping a firm smirk on her face. She was going to have to thank her friend once she reunited with her for everything. She was jabbed again by the two men over and over again, but she didn't scream out loud. She was getting used to it with each jab, even though after each one she felt like passing out.

"Stop it!" Luna screamed in the break. "You'll kill her!"

"Then we'll kill her and revive her as many times necessary until she tells us what that bitch did."

Luna looked ready to tell them, but Regan glared Luna a 'no' before being jabbed again.

The leader man took a break giving Regan a chance to breathe properly and turned to the man holding the needles and tubes. "Set down the equipment and get the doctor, she'll tell us what the problem is. Hopefully, the girl will give in before you get back."

"Yes sir," The man answered and left the needles and tubes on the table before leaving in a hurry.

"Now, where were we? Oh right, changing the tactic up a bit." The man sighed as he rolled his shoulder and suddenly gripped her throat between his hand and the wall and pushed.

Her air was cut from her lungs as she struggled under the weight trying to break free. She kicked his leg out from under him and air rushed into her lungs as she broke into a coughing fit. She didn't know how long she was going last and if they were being serious about killing her just to bring her back for more torture. The thought made her wince and pray that someone would find Luna and her before they figured out Nile's secret. She didn't know how Nile did it, but she doubted it would last under the stress she was in.

"You are one pesky pest you know that." He replied. "Last chance before you are seriously hurt. Tell me what she did."

"Sir, don't do anything rash, you know we aren't allowed to hurt her too much." The one with the restraints said urgently.

"Oh, she'll be fine," The man grinned insanely. "What's the rule? After you are stabilized any wounds are healed if they were inflicted within the twelve hours of the stabilization."

Regan's eyes wide as the man grabbed her leg from underneath her. She tried to get him to let go of her leg without much success. She was too weak. Before she could do anything else, the pole guy crushed her knee under his foot. She screamed like she never screamed before as all the pain nerves reacted at once. Tears of pain rain down her face as the leader picked up her chin as she held back sobs. It was hard as the pain wouldn't die out like being electrocuted.

"Mind telling me what your friend, Nile, did now?"

"I don't know." Regan chocked out and he kicked her broken knee. She screamed unwillingly. "It's the truth, I don't know!"

"I'm sensing that you are telling me that you didn't know how she did whatever she did to you, how about the other knee?"

Her other leg was pulled out from under her and her arms tugged in their sockets as she barely touched the floor.

"Stop it! I don't know! I don't-!" She couldn't finished as she screamed when her other knee was crushed. The pain overwhelmed her other senses for a moment. When she regained herself again the leader and the pole guy grinned down at her. She glared back. "You can all go jump off a bridge you bastards!"

"You're annoyingly stubborn like your brothers, but can you last as long as they did?" The leader asked her and placed a hand on her throat again making her unable to scream or talk. She didn't give much of a fight as she struggled. It hurt every time she tried moving her legs. "Jab her."

The cattle prodder jabbed her painfully under the ribs. The pain was unbearable as she struggled and more tears fell as she started blacking out. The hand and prodder were removed and her head collapsed forward as far as she could go from her cuffed hands. She wanted to curse and scream at them, to threaten them, but her voice wouldn't work as she tried to breathe the best she could. She glared up at them. It didn't matter how broken physically she was, she wasn't going to let them make her their pet.

"Still nothing… have you ever dislocated something…? I hear it hurts ten times as much putting it back into place."

She didn't even get to say anything as he pushed against her more dominate shoulder and a pop sound came to her ears before the pain did. She was picked up slightly causing her legs to break out in pain again as she felt her shoulder slip back into place, extremely painfully. She avoided looking over at Luna and hoped that she wasn't watching. Not because it was a mess, but this kind of thing messes with a kid's head, she should know. She was still one herself.

"What a mess you guys have done down here; breaking our weapon to the point of crying and screaming where I could hear it up on the three level." A female voice entered and it sounded similar to the voice she heard back in the bunker in Vancouver. "Torturing this girl when she could be telling the truth is rather cruel."

"If you saw the smirk on her face, you would see she knew what was up." The leader replied and looked down at her.

"Well from her pleading earlier I really want to disagree."

"Since you're here, maybe you can tell us what the hell that spirit bitch did to our weapon."

Regan glared ever harder at them, her voice finally came back. "You guys are going to be so sorry when someone finds out where we are."

"See, now that's the problem, I doubt they will ever find us let alone get here in time to see you off." The woman replied.

"Sounds like their type of thing, if you guys don't recall, I alone charged the Dragon Slayer's headquarters and fucked them all over." Regan hissed out at them. She did a split second check on Luna before going back to the lady and the four men. She hoped Luna wasn't traumatized because of her stalling. As long as Luna wasn't hurt than that's all that mattered. "What do you think will happen when you have guys who have had practice for years?"

"Like I said, they will never find this place." The woman answered as she walked over to Regan and looked her over. "Looks like you've been through quite a bit."

"Don't pity me; you are going to be so finished along with the rest of them when I get my hands on you."

"It's was more of a distraction." She replied as she jabbed a needle Regan didn't see into her good shoulder and drew blood. Regan got really dizzy from the draw and tried to struggle away again without success. The woman took the needle out and examined the blood in the needle. "Clever girl."

"What? What is it?" the leader asked her.

"Her abilities were locked when the spirit got rid of the overdose. We can't get anything from her unless we break the lock and our weapon can't undo the lock on her own."

"How do you suppose we break the lock then?"

The woman looked at the four men and stopped at the leader. "Is that an actual gun on your hip?"

"Yes."

"Good." The woman took the gun and shot Regan in the fixed arm next to her head. Regan screamed; bullets were not the most comfortable thing she had hit with. The woman proceeded to shot her other arm. "Next one's aimed at your head. Three. Tw-"

"Go ahead!" Regan shouted at her. She would gladly die to keep everyone safe from herself. "At least then you can't use me anymore!"

"Fine," The woman smirked and turned the gun on Luna. Both girls froze in fear.

"Don't."

"Two."

"Leave her alone!"

"One."

The gun fired and suddenly Regan's chest filled with pain as she forced herself to form a shield around the small green haired girl in a mere panic. The bullet stopped in the middle of the shield in front of Luna inches away from her head. Luna opened her eyes just as Regan dropped the shield and the bullet dropped onto the girl's lap. Regan sighed right before the cuffs that held Regan's body up exploded from her aura. She squeaked in pain as she dropped to the floor feeling the fever set in immediately. The dizziness came a few seconds later. The whole experience made her feel like crawling into a hole and die.

"You threaten a life that she cares about at the brink of her highest stress level, is how you unlock it." The woman replied and Regan heard the heels of her shoes click away.

"Hook her up and restrain her."

"Ya restrain her," Regan muttered as she heard the three males in the room move about. "Because I'm going so far in my condition."

"Make sure you clean up the blood before she goes into the second stage. Hurry up; we don't want her putting up a shield so we can't touch her."

A needle was placed in her spine and she screamed, cringed and swiped at the sharp object. Someone grabbed her hands before she could remove it and wrapped them in duct tape and then duct taped to the floor. Another needle was added to her lower spine and she tried her best not to scream, but it wasn't working very well. She passed out from the pain and woke up to having another needle being inserted at the base of her neck. The pain that should have been there didn't register as she opened her eyes to find the sight a bit clearer. Luna wasn't looking at her and was trembling silently. She shouldn't have been here at all. The four men looked down at her with pleasure across their faces at her pain.

"You guys… really think duct tape… is going to hold me down?" Regan managed to get out with breaks in her sentence. Everything hurt.

"It's not duct tape; it's a restraint that doesn't allow aura to destroy it. So no matter how much aura you throw at it, it won't break." The leader replied. "It's difficult to find and create anything that has to deal with aura, especially yours."

"How do you know this will work?"

The man grinned before snapping his fingers. The other three men left the room. "I'll think about telling you when I get back in an hour if you're good."

Regan didn't push it as he left. The footsteps left her ears as they climbed a set of stairs. Luna started crying out loud making Regan feel terrible.

"I'm sorry you were caught up in this." Regan apologized as she set her head on her shoulder. It hurt at the sudden pressure, but she didn't care. "It's not as bad as it looks."

Luna turned to her with scared eyes. "Not bad? Your body has seven needles in it with tubes, they tortured you!"

"I guess they did, but its fine. Everything will be alright." She lied. It was so good she almost convinced herself.

"How can you say that? How do you know that everything will be alright?!"

"I know it doesn't look good, but I can use my aura now. I can let you get out of here and find everyone."

"Why don't you use it to help yourself, you will be able to take anyone on that way." Luna sniffled.

"I only have one move with my aura before I fall into stage two. There is literally nothing I can do once I hit that stage except create a light show, but even then. These needles are sucking my aura and when I use my aura, they are just going to suck it up like a Slurpee."

There was silence before Luna seemed to get the courage to ask something. Regan waited patiently as she did. "Did you really mean what you said? Do you really want to die?"

"Of course not." Regan answered, suicide was not on her list of things to do. "I like living, but I rather be dead then cause any more death and destruction. The things these people have done, just because I was born, have hurt a lot of people. This back and forth struggle of these people wanting to use me and my resistance has caused a rift in time and for you to see horrible things. I don't wish to die, but I don't wish to live for their amusement either."

"You shouldn't have to think about those things at your age, it's wrong and unfair."

"Better me than some other person. But enough about that; how are you? Did they do anything to you when I passed out?"

"I'm fine; they didn't do anything to me."

"That's good."

There was silence for a few moments.

"Thank you." Luna finally spoke out. She wasn't crying any more.

"For what?"

"For saving me, you put yourself at risk to save my life."

Regan smiled slightly. "Any time."

Their conversation ended when the sounds of steps came to their ears as they descended down the staircase.

The leader appeared in the door way as he stretched. "Change of plans, we are going to speed things up a little, oh."

"Oh what?" Regan hissed as she focused on him.

"You haven't slipped into the second stage yet."

"Of course not, you really think that a fever from this is just going to magically make me slip into the second stage."

"I'm just surprised, our analysis tells us otherwise."

She rolled her eyes at their stupidity. At least they didn't know everything. "So, how did you make sure these things worked?"

"For a genius, you aren't all that bright are you?" The leader commented, but she ignored it. "Test subjects of course."

She perked up. "You mean there are other people like me?"

"Were, they didn't make it through your treatment."

"You killed them?!"

"They died for a good cause."

"A good cause my ass!"

"They were just pawns caused by your doing. All those times you escaped, caused trouble. We had to hunt more creatures like you down to test things. Your brothers are going to be next if this doesn't work, even though they don't really have the aura trait."

Regan felt everything inside her shut down for a moment before rage and anger entered. "My brothers are not pawns! Leave them be or I swear nothing will be able to help you!"

"Try us,"

She couldn't do much to control her anger or her aura and the restraints on her wrists incinerated as an aura sphere formed in her hand. It left and split into two aura spheres hitting the leader across the room and the other hit the cuffs Luna was in. The girl seemed frozen as she stared at the man on the ground.

"Run!" Regan shouted and Luna got up and ran out of the room. Regan winced as the second stage hit her causing her breath to grow short. More steps came into her hearing as people rushed in.

"Sir, there was a high energy of aura detected, sir!"

Regan smirked as the men gathered around the leader who was starting to regain consciousness. The leader brushed them off and quickly noticed Luna's absence. "Where's the girl?"

"We have her escaping in camera five heading to camera six, there is a Kuribon leading her out of the facility." One of the men stated holding what looked a lot like an iPad.

"Order to kill her on sight, we don't need her escaping."

"But sir, the boss said-"

"There are many more like her out there, kill her."

"Units, the spirit girl has escaped and heading to section twenty-three." Another one spoke into a walkie. "Kill on sight."

"Security will have her mangled body in eighty seconds." The man with the pad told the room.

"You bastards! Leave her be!"

"This is your doing, another body on your hands." The leader remarked. "But that's what monsters do. I hope you are keeping count for the rewards."

"Twenty-nine seconds."

"I won't allow you!" Regan screamed at the top of her lungs.

Suddenly, a bright light entered the room and Regan felt part of her conscious move into something else. The bright light died down as two versions of sight came to her like a split screen in a video game. One of them was her looking up at a Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon that flew out of the room knocking over the people and the other was that of the dragon itself as it flew through the halls scrapping against the walls. Exhaustion hit her and she placed all her focus on the sight of the white dragon and willed it to find Luna. The dragon flew faster and found a wall of militants as they turned the corner in front of the green haired girl. The dragon swooped up Luna as shots fired at the dragon's body causing Regan to flinch in her own body. The dragon swiped its tail at the armed men and they went crashing into the room behind the wall the tail crashed into. Kuribon flew quickly ahead and the dragon flew after it before it disappeared into a wall. The dragon flew through the wall like a wrecking ball. The puffball flew through the ceiling and the dragon went after it as screams of surprise came to Regan's ears. She didn't care about any of them. After walls and floors being destroyed, the outside world came finally as the dragon flew through the windows of the building landing on pavement.

Luna got off the dragon and looked up at it. "You're Regan's spirit monster aren't you?"

The dragon nodded even though Regan didn't move her head.

"Find everyone," Regan said, but realized Luna was already running away. "I'm going to make sure everyone knows where I am."

"Shit! Stop her!" The voices of the room came to her ears and the focus split again causing her to lose even more energy. She looked up at them and their panicking forms as the dragon flew up to the top of the building. She could hear the glass shattering on the dragon's end as it flew by. One person tried to touch her, but the field the second stage put up blocked him from touching her. The dragon reached the top of the building and howled a loud eerie noise that blocked out the noises of the city.

"Shining Neutron Bla-" She didn't finish her order as something was injected into her and her world stopped.

00000

A loud noise entered Yugi's ears and he pulled over immediately Crow and Atem were also looking around on their screen after Yugi thought it came from their side. The city was pretty dark and the loud noise was a surprising event.

"What the hell is that?!" Crow asked over their conversation as the noise stopped.

"That sounded like, Blue-Eyes." Atem muttered in confusion.

"No it was-" Yugi didn't finish as a bright light exploded in the dark sky a few seconds before the sound of the explosion. Yugi looked at its source from the top of a building and the dragon he thought it was crashing down into the side of the building before disappearing.

"Is that Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon? The blast didn't look right." Jack echoed Yugi's thoughts. They were teamed up on finding Regan and Luna.

Yugi revved the engine and did a wheelie onto the highway below that led to the building. "Regan… she couldn't support her spirit monster… dammit, hang in there!"

Yum, torture is a delicious sort of candy… No, I'm not a sadist.

Now the next chapter will be up, hopefully within a week or two; I've been playing with my originals quite a bit so we'll see.

Please review or favorite or follow or all three if you liked it. Or hated it. Or just want to tell me you are still reading it. Anyway Cheers! Thanks! Have a good night! Stuff~
