Sorry for this being sooooo late, I've been seriously distracted. I finally got this done and put up a new story, a Fire Emblem fanfiction if you wanna read it. I think it's a little messed up in its own weird way, but I could be underestimating the tolerance humans can handle in the weird department. Anyway, I'll leave you with this ridiculously long chapter. I hope you enjoy it.
Chapter 4
Portal Gun
Sunday June 24th, 2012 5:00 AM
Wednesday June 24th, 2012 5:00 AM
Seto bolted awake from the desk with the chair slamming into the window with him on it. He clenched onto his chest as a sharp pain wasn't keeping to his head anymore. He was going to kill whoever it was that got Regan in the pain-fest she was in. It was quiet for a while and he sent out the two girls to get rest as they slimmed the pile down to a couple of people and he was going to start interrogations the next day; but here he was, awake, and feeling the pain Regan was in. then, it stopped. He blinked as he sat up properly. Why did it just stop? He grabbed the files from the desk and placed on his coat before leaving the room entirely. She wasn't dead, he would know. Maybe she was put under. He clenched his jaw; if They had her, they could be prepping her for whatever they planned on doing. He walked into the gym and saw the bunchies were already awake and ready to go.
"Kaiba, what the hell is going-!" Wheeler started shouting, but Tristan covered his mouth.
"Let's take this outside." Tristan whispered and Seto just turned around leading the way to a different room.
He could do this himself, but time was important and his ego wasn't going to get in the way of family. Obvious the bunchies sensed something wrong with the other half of their group as they were all up and slightly agitated, which is exactly what he needed right now. A couple of pissed off teenagers were perfect for getting people to talk. He was sure they could think of a few ways that would make George Martin proud. Seto pushed opened a door and the bunchies walked in. He shut the door behind him and locked it. The last thing he wanted was someone to eavesdrop. He met the group at the front of the classroom far from the door.
"You better have some explanation to what the hell was that!" Wheeler fumed loudly.
"There is a door opened someplace on the island that leads to the future."
"A what?!"
"Clean out your ears, mutt. A ripple effect is what you just felt, something happened and there isn't much time left."
"What do you want us to do?" Tristan asked. "You brought us here for a reason if you couldn't do it on your own."
"Correction. I could do it; but time is against that."
"Whatever, just tell me what to do so I can break the nose of whoever did this."
"There are a few suspects left and the only way to get them talking if they are at fault will be difficult if impossible."
"Impossible is how we live." Téa remarked. "Is the list still the same?"
"Three female staff, don't make a scene. If you are going to do something do it in the dark, the last thing we need is an innocent person being mobbed by hormonal, stressed teenagers."
"And you want Joey involved?" Tristan asked and Joey was about to start a fight when Seto grabbed the blond's collar instead.
"Don't screw this up," he threatened and the blond seemed to understand the weight of the situation ever so slightly. "That's my sister who is in serious danger and your friends. Whatever you felt was obviously a last resort and now They probably have her or worse they have all of them. Want to fight a brainwashed shadow user because I certainly do not. Now are you going to be useful or are you going to sit on the sidelines because you can't get your shit together?"
Joey nodded and he let go. "So where are we going to find these girls?"
"That's your job."
"What the hell-"
"I need to find the doorway." He snapped. "It's possible that the culprit will be waiting there anyway. If you get any news use your duel monsters as messengers. The last thing we need is another leak to summon some more unwanted creatures. The wicked gods are playing around out there and in between finding this bitch and beating the gods is what needs to be done."
"Anything else?" Téa asked.
"No, just keep me informed and each other."
The three of them nodded and he sighed. This was going to backfire. If only he had the time to deal with the situation completely by himself. He started walking back to the door.
"Who can we trust in case some help is required?" Tristan questioned.
Seto didn't stop as he answered. "Shepard and Banner if you need it. No one else. We have two hours max."
"Why two?"
"Because by then our little Regan, if she isn't save, will have her first field test on the island. That's how long it would take for Them to complete their little experiment."
"I would ask, but I wouldn't like the answer on how you know that."
Seto opened the door and left for the roof. He had some unfinished business with the black sun in the sky and a lot of unreleased stress. He hoped they weren't already too late.
00000
Yugi flew passed traffic towards the cluster of buildings where the dragon was. How much trouble was Regan in for her spirit monster to summon itself? He didn't want to think on it and drove faster. Jack appeared next to him as the two of them weaved in and out of traffic. The sun was starting to rise and people were getting heading to work making the drive there that much more difficult.
"Do you have an idea on where the dragon was, Jack?" Yugi asked through the headset.
"An idea, but that's not going to help, there are twenty buildings over there."
"Then that's twenty buildings that I will go through."
"They are probably expecting you."
"Well then, I won't feel bad about beating them without a fair warning."
"Hey, we need a plan. A suicide mission isn't going to save anyone."
"Worked out for Regan..."
"Ya and Regan has a horseshoe filled with rabbits feet wrapped with four leaf clovers stuffed someplace to be alive so far. Let's go back to Yusei's and discuss a plan."
"We don't have time for that! We have less than two hours before They have her on a puppet strings. Hell we might have an hour if they started up before Blue-Eyes was summoned." Yugi yelled as he pushed buttons on the screen. Yusei, Atem, Bakura, Akiza, Crow and Leo appeared on the screen. "Does anyone have an idea on what building Blue-Eyes came from?"
"I can get an exact answer from the computer back at my apartment." Yusei told him.
"Dammit."
"We'll get to them, we just need to be prepared." Atem said.
"Luna might not make it out of there if we aren't quick enough."
"Yugi," Bakura growled and he flinched. It was weird to hear that tone from the pacifist. "We need a plan, we can't go in blind and miss out on the important parts. If we can get blue prints like before; we can get in faster."
"Fine," Yugi sighed. They were all right. He needed to slow down. Not his driving but his motives. "Be there in a few minutes."
"Likewise." Atem said.
The others nodded and his screen when black.
"You need to believe in your girlfriend more that she won't fall to them easily." Jack stated.
"I am." Yugi sighed. "Kaiba did a simulation of what the experiments where with the little bit of information he managed to gather and two hours was the max she had. The calculations included will power and other assorted things he thankfully didn't tell me about. From her time when she could have woken up from her aura being sealed was probably about three hours ago. Time to unlock her abilities: an hour if they aren't totally dense. The dragon being a last resort: she's probably been under for at least an hour for her to get that aura deprived under constant use, or in this case, constantly being sucked out of her."
"That is way more complicated than it should be."
"Kaiba knows how to take in every detail."
"Does Regan know about this?"
"Doubt it. He probably didn't tell her in order for her to keep going even though there was a time limit to her limits."
"Speaking of Kaiba... Is that...?" Jack started and Yugi looked in the direction he was looking to see a slightly older looking Kaiba standing in front of the fountain as they drove above on the exit ramp. They left the ramp and Yugi stopped in front of the fountain as the others came into the area.
"What did you give to the devil to stay young, Kaiba? Because it certainly wasn't your non existing soul." Atem asked and a smirk appeared on the slightly older looking Kaiba.
"Ya, I don't miss your young wit one bit." Kaiba stated as he crossed his arms. "Enough chit chat, I found this on my way over."
Yugi wondered on what he was taking about as Luna came out from behind him. She looked a bit scratched up, but other than that, slightly scarred for life. He swallowed, that wasn't a good sign.
"Luna!" Leo shouted and hugged his twin. "How'd you get away from them?"
"Regan. She used her aura to break my cuffs and then summoned her spirit monster to save me." Luna said wiping tears away. "After that, Mr. Kaiba stopped the few guys that chased after me and brought me here. Those guys, they roughed Regan up pretty bad. We have to help her before it's too late!"
"We're getting there." Yusei told her. "Do you know what building they are using?"
She nodded. "Right next to the Sector Security building."
"They more than likely hacked into the security systems and used them to their advantage to find you guys."
"Not that this is of any importance, but I did come down for a reason." Kaiba stated gathering their attention. "I already have the blue prints and the room where Regan is located. But it's no good if you don't have the source to get your sorry asses back to your timeline. The past is at stake and if you stick around any longer you're going to make this future completely futile."
"Alright, we're listening." Yugi said as he took a chip that he presumed had the blue prints on it from him.
"There is a machine; a portal gun, that can opened the door completely on this side so you can go home at the same time the door on the past is opened."
"Timed, fantastic, how do we know when to open it."
"Why do you think I'm here? You have until seven am to open the door. The member on the other side is expecting the weapon at that time."
"You mean Regan."
"It won't be Regan if you don't hurry up."
"So where's the gun?" Bakura asked.
"Jason has it. He'll be blocking your path into the building so he shouldn't be hard to find." Kaiba told him.
"Fabled leviathan Jason?"
"No, Jason from Jason and the Argonauts."
"The what?" Crow asked.
"You have forty-five minutes." The older man growled and started to leave.
"Wait aren't you going to help us?"
"I already have; you're in and out will be slightly easier when you get there. I'll knocked their power supplies out just before you arrive. The backup generators will be focused on Regan so use that to your advantage."
Before any of them could say anything Kaiba left in a limo that pulled up for a few seconds. Yugi watched him leave in confusion. Why wouldn't Kaiba stick around to help? Yugi gave the blue prints to Bakura. "You have the River's Puzzle right?"
The albino nodded.
"Good, you guys get Regan, get her to solve the puzzle and get out of there. I'll take on Jason to get the gun."
"You're going to take him on alone?!" Luna asked him. He nodded. "You can't that guy's deck is too much!"
"I'm going to beat it and get the portal gun. My deck is more suited for his anyway and I've seen what it can do from Regan's duel." He told her. He really wanted to get Regan out of that building, but this was also important and he couldn't fail. "You guys make sure she gets out alive."
"Okay, but I don't know how well she will be able to do the puzzle in her condition."
Yugi flinched under her tone and the words were coming out before he had time to think about it. "W-what did they do to her?"
Luna's eyes widened before she started to cry. "They... They..."
"Sorry, just pretend I didn't ask." He managed to get out. "She's probably fine, she's been through a lot before. She'll make it through this too."
She nodded wiping her tears. He sighed and got on his bike. He wasn't sure if that was comfort for her or for him.
"Luna, Leo, stay here. Hide in the apartment and don't leave it. We'll be back soon." Yusei told the two kids.
"But-"
"Stay here; these guys aren't messing around and I don't want you two to get hurt."
Leo looked ready to argue but Luna nodded. "Okay, be careful, those guys are well equipped."
Yugi nodded and he drove off hearing the others follow behind him.
"According to the blue prints. The building is located here." Bakura said through the intercom and a map appeared on the screen. Yugi tapped it for a closer look and directions were put up on the side as the building showed itself like Google Street View only way cleaner. "Regan is on the fifth basement level far from the front entrance."
"It's amazing how an organization can hide right under your nose." Jack grunted. "I easily went by this building ten times on our searches."
"Same." Yugi admitted.
"It must be deep enough for us not to sense the girls' presence with the shadows." Bakura sighed. "They did their homework."
"As much as hate I'm bringing this up; but the ring would be useful for times like these." Atem stated.
"Oh you mean like every other week?" Yugi asked.
"Like every other week, yes."
"Are we thinking of the same ring, because I'm pretty sure the one ring to rule them all can't find people?" Crow questioned. "Unless it does..."
"Not that ring; Millennium Ring," Bakura told him. "An object I don't see any appeal to getting my hands on again. It can stay in its grave."
"It would be useful though-" Atem started.
"The day I dig that trash up is the day the world ends."
"Like when the world ends or when it actually ends." Yusei questioned. He had the same day job they had.
"Bloody hell, when it's a last resort and there is no saving it. Now let's drop it and concentrate on the plan to saving the world from our friend, okay?"
They all nodded as they flew onto a different highway.
"Alright, now that we know where she is, we can use the blackout Kaiba will be introducing as a good way to capture the people for your sector security to question."
"Trudge could definitely do it, but being unconscious in the hospital isn't going to help." Yusei stated. "But Mina can, give me a second to call her."
Yusei went off the intercom and Bakura continued. "With that down, we can hopefully cause enough chaos for us to ride through the buildings halls to get to the fifth floor. There are no stairs that lead down to the lower levels, but ramps and large elevators meaning they probably have some heavy duty crap down there. Akiza, I hear you are a psychic duelist, is that correct?"
"Yes... But my abilities aren't as strong as they used to be."
"We are going to need a clearing once we get Regan. I'm sure fifty alarms will go off on top of the alarms that will be already going off already. They probably have something to mess with Shadow Magic so I really don't know what to expect from them since they have decades of research that we have no idea of."
"I'll do my best with the situation."
"Excellent."
'It's amazing how Bakura can command like this wit6h him being so quiet.' Yugi voiced out his opinion on the mental link to Atem.
'You can be like that too sometimes. When something important is on the line.'
'What I wanted to do was charge in recklessly. Not planned out like Bakura is doing now.'
'Today maybe isn't your best result, but you have in the past and I'm sure in the future you will again.'
Yugi was going to say something, but the words were gone when he saw Jason standing outside the building which appeared on his screen waiting with a duel runner behind him.
"Mina says the team is ready when we are."
"That was quick," Jack said.
"The station is right there, Jack." Akiza sighed.
"Right. Still quick... Right?"
"Trudge had the team on standby mode since yesterday when They attacked. According to Mina, he figured something was going to happen and a rescue mission was going to be needed so he called in when everyone was paying attention to other things."
"He did that?" Yugi asked. "I guess I'll have to send him more than a card before we leave."
"He's changed quite a bit since the last time." Atem told him.
"Oh I wouldn't say quite a bit." He said as they grew closer to the building. "Get Regan out and burn this place to its final floor. Okay?"
"You got it Yugi!" Crow said as he flew by him and into the building. "This place looks like a dragon went through it."
"Good, it saves us the trouble," Yusei stated. "Mina we are good to go."
The army of security left the building next door and followed the other duelists inside leaving Yugi to stop in front of Jason, alone.
"My, my. I was wondering when I would see you again." Jason started. "Didn't like that I stole your girlfriend?"
"No, no I didn't. So how about in return you give me the portal gun and I won't send you a one way ticket to the shadow realm, deal?"
"Now, now, we both know you can't use your shadow magic that well. Compared to even Kaiba you are a baby in the art."
"We'll see." Yugi growled. "So are we just going to stand here or are you going to hand over what I asked for."
"I'll take the third option." He replied and got into his bike. "I hope I'm not too much for you or this won't be fun ripping away at your hope."
"Bastard."
Jason took off and Yugi followed him at high speeds.
00000
Atem ducked as something came from nowhere at him. The building was insane even with everything in chaos, the security team was on point and knew exactly where they were heading. Too bad they weren't expecting an onslaught of monsters from various duellists. Like his Millennium Dragon and Millennium Magician, Yusei's Stardust Dragon, Akiza's Black Rose Dragon, Jack's Red Dragon Archfiend, Crow's Blackwing Dragon, and Bakura's Necrofear. Now saying the last monster didn't seem like much in his head, but it was sending dolls into the darkness and the sounds of bones being snapped echoed off the walls louder than the sounds of the dragons. If anything that creepy woman was making their rescue uncomfortably easier. It terrified him to think the monster was actually capable of taking on armies in the dark and having them all dead by light. A wall came down from the ceiling ahead almost making Atem put on the breaks until Stardust blew it up with its ranged attack. He thought for sure the monster guns would have come out now, but if they were out, their holders were either waiting for them, or they were those clone things in Star Wars and missing. He knew what they were called, he just... didn't recall them as he was slightly busy avoiding objects and trying not to take out the people behind him.
"She's below us." Bakura told them through headset. "One more floor and then we need to defend the room until she can build the puzzle."
"Wouldn't it be easier to just leave and build the damn thing later?" Jack asked.
"It would be, but she probably can't be moved. If Luna was attempting to describe what I think she was trying to describe; Regan might be in a stage were none of us will be able to touch her."
"Oh, perfect."
"And what if she can't build the puzzle?" Akiza asked.
"Pray that she can." Atem stated.
"If she can be moved, we are moving her, puzzle built or not." Yusei stated. "This building is a lot like a few of the buildings I've played with and it's got all sorts of trouble if the buttons are pushed right."
"Alright."
They turned onto the next ramp and a wall of security guards with the monster guns were waiting for them.
"We'll deal with these guys, you two help Regan." Yusei told him and Bakura.
"Be careful, those guns attack with attack damage against monsters." Bakura replied.
"I'll leave Millennium Dragon out here, he gains attack equal to the amount of dragons on the field."
"More dragons the better, yes, I remember this when we dueled two night ago." Jack sighed. "Hurry up before they bring out the bigger guns."
Atem didn't say anything as Bakura drove passed him and passed the wall. Atem followed leaving his dragon behind and into the room ahead. He got off his runner and quickly went over to Regan. She was warm, but not untouchable, yet, and unconscious. Bandages covered her shoulders with blood stains seeping through them. He looked up and saw several tubes connected to her, seven in total that led to her spine all filled with her multicolored aura. He winced hoped she was unconscious for that.
"We need something to wake her up." He called over to silent Bakura as he pulled out the needles.
"Uh, right. We just need some adrenaline… there should be some in here…"
"What about a prodder?" Atem suggested as he picked up the rod. It was sensitive at the touch of a button.
"Or a prodder to jump start the system… though adrenaline would be safest."
"Poke me with that prodder again and see what happens." Regan groaned from her spot on the floor.
"Regan?!" Bakura asked in disbelief.
"I must be still dreaming… thought I was awake this time…"
"No, no. Regan it's us. Come one, you need to stay awake." Atem urged lowering down to a knee. He snapped his fingers in front of her face. "Regan! Come on, you have a job to do and you'll be all better."
"But I'm sleepy… just leave me alone. This is the fifteenth time we've through this. It ends the same."
"She's definitely on something." Bakura concluded as placed the pieces of the River's Puzzle on the floor in front of her and sat her up. She screamed at the touch.
"Arg! Dammit, what the hell, Ryou?!" She yelled at him. "Have you ever been shot? It hurts!"
"Regan. Puzzle. Build. Now." The albino urged. "Or we all are going to die down here."
"If it gets you two to stop messing with me, fine!" She growled as she looked at the pieces in front of her. "Nrgh. The pieces are all fuzzy… me sleepy…"
"Nile is depending on you right now." Atem told her. "Do you want help?"
"Of course not!" She snapped sounding exactly like Kaiba. He was always curious how someone acted on drugs, now he knew how Regan was: irrational and an emotional roller coaster. "I don't need you help!"
"In that case sometime within the thirty second would be nice."
She yawned. "Nokay."
"Nokay?"
She shrugged and started putting pieces together without difficulty. Atem sighed and Bakura visibly relaxed. At least this was going their way for now.
An explosion happened and Necrofear was destroyed in the doorway. Atem turned to the explosion and heard Bakura curse incoherently. The 'going their way' was over. He turned back to Regan who was passing out again with three quarters of the puzzle done. An aura light was now starting to farm around her. "Come on Regan, you can do this. Just stay awake a little longer."
"But I want Yugi…" she whined. She looked ready to cry. "I want Seto and Mokuba and everyone else. Here. Now. Where's Nile?"
"She's in the puzzle remember. She can't come until you-"
"She was here! I heard her!"
Bakura stood up from Regan abruptly. "I can't touch her now… we don't have much time between her and those pisspots out there."
"Yugi should have come instead, we obviously don't have the same affect with Regan as we do with Nile."
"Seems like it, I'm a bit hurt actually."
"I'm right here, eh." Regan growled.
"Then prove us wrong." Atem challenged, this was her competitive Kaiba mode, and he was going to abuse it. "Go ahead and finish that puzzle before we all die and you get a prize."
"Eh? What's the reward, eh?"
"Living."
"Seems fair… but I want something else too, eh."
"You do?" The two males questioned.
"Yea, a blueberry pie would be nice, eh." She stated.
"You want… never mind deal, if you finish before we are all killed, you can have a pie."
"Yes!" She squeaked in happiness and continued the puzzle. "Make sure it's blueberry, eh, or I'll have to get creative. KK?"
"Never put Regan under anything, agreed?" Atem asked the white haired male as the girl started humming to herself.
"Agreed, this is scaring me."
"And DOOOONNNNEEE, eh~!" she sang loudly as she held it out. "Now where's my pie for I LIIIIVVVVEEE!"
"Pie later, just put it on, alright?"
"No pie, eh?"
"Later. Now if you please…"
"Hold 'em horses, eh." The girl sighed and she put on the puzzle. The girl seemed to freshen up quickly and Atem didn't notice that her knees weren't in the right spots until he watch them fix themselves. He almost gagged at the movement.
"When the hell you guys get here?" Regan said suddenly looking around. Nile appeared next to her and the girl stood up. "Man, you never know how much you love your legs until their gone. Thought the healing was going to hurt, but I was wrong."
"We got to go now, we'll explain everything on the way." Atem managed to get out. He was still very much grossed out though he was glad he didn't notice earlier and that she didn't mention it. Maybe there was a good thing that came out of her being on whatever she was on for the moment. At least her aura cleaned up anything that was done to her. "Are you going to be okay until we get to a safe distance?"
"I'll be good when everyone is good, where's Yugi?"
"Fighting Jason for our way home."
"We need to go to him immediately!" She responded so bluntly he thought she was still on something. "He's in danger."
00000
Jason got onto a highway in front of traffics sending an eighteen wheeler to a sharp stop and flipping crushing cars and barriers behind them. "Ah, looks like we can have this place for ourselves." He commented. "Never cared for an audience."
"So I've noticed." Yugi spat. He didn't look back at the noises behind him, they were enough to know that a lot of people were dead or hurt. "You're not getting away this time."
"When did I say anything about running away?" Jason laughed.
"Duel!"
Yugi Muto VS Jason
"Speed world 2 activate. Autopilot, engaged." The computer stated and the road changed into a duel lane. Or at least attempted and several pieces of the road failed to raise all the way while others didn't. Yugi barely made it onto the next platform as he realized why Jason created the accident. It must have been a major operation centre at that part of the road.
"I'll take the first turn if you don't mind." Jason called out from ahead.
Turn 1: Jason H: 5 LP: 4000
"Let's start this off quickly, I have a date in half an hour."
"You might want to tell them you're never going to make it. Ever." Yugi growled.
"I might call if this runs a little late… First I'll send Fabled Soulkius to the graveyard to special summon The Fabled Chawa."
The Fabled Chawa Beast/Tuner 1 star Attack: 200 Defence: 100
A small dog appeared on the field.
"Soulkius' effect goes off and I can send two cards from my hand to the graveyard other than Fabled Soulkius to revive it. I send The Fabled Cerburrel and the Fabled Ganashia. Both of their effect activate and they are summoned to the field.
Fabled Soulkius Fiend/Effect 6 stars Attack: 2200 Defence: 2100
The Fabled Cerburrel Beast/Tuner/effect 2 stars Attack: 1000 Defence: 400
The Fabled Ganashia Beast/Effect 3 stars Attack: 1600 Defence: 100
A small three headed dog and a messed up purple elephant appeared on the field joining the small golden dog. Yugi wasn't expecting to be able to synchro summon the first turn, but here he was with Jason and a prepped field for two synchro summons.
"What? I told you I had a date. I tune Fabled Soulkius with The Fabled Cerburrel to Synchro Summon Fabled Valkyrus."
Fabled Valkyrus Fiend/Synchro/Effect 7 stars Attack: 2900 Defence: 1700
A large warrior appeared beside his runner and cracked his knuckles. This was not something Yugi wanted to deal with. Regan was back at the building and this prick had the object needed to go home. "You done?"
"Almost, I didn't realize you wanted to die so quickly." Jason mocked. "I tune The Fabled Ganashia with The Fabled Chawa to synchro summon The Fabled Unicore."
The Fabled Unicore Beast/Synchro/Effect 4 stars Attack: 2300 Defence: 1000
A white unicorn appeared on the other side of Jason and glared at Yugi. Thankfully the fiend in front couldn't attack on the first turn. Jason set a facedown card.
"You're go, King of Games."
Turn 2: Yugi H: 5 LP: 4000
"I draw!" He said instinctively as he drew a card and looked at it. "Sector Security made some fancy cards for us to use without the need for speed counters, so let me introduce you to one of them. I activate Swords of Revealing Light."
"This, again. Seriously, why bother wasting everyone's time. It's soooooo cliché for you to just activate it." Jason sighed.
"Just shut it and let me play." Yugi snapped at him. "I activate Pot of Greed and draw two cards." Yugi drew and took one look at his card before placing it on the field. "I special summon Watapon with his effect."
"Yadiya don't bother with explanations or fancy summoning calls, makes the inevitable come faster."
Watapon Fairy/Effect 1 star Attack: 200 Defence: 300
"Wasn't going to bother, I sacrifice him and set a monster." He replied as he set his monster and pulled another card from his holder. "I activate Ground Collapse and now two of your Monster Zones can't be used. Finally I set one card face down and end my turn."
"Finally."
Turn 3: Jason H: 1 LP: 4000
"What do you mean finally; your last turn took forever." Yugi scoffed.
"Whatever," Jason stated and drew a card. "I normal summon Fabled Urustos."
Fabled Urustos Fiend/Effect 4 stars Attack: 1500 Defence: 300
"You see, normally the card gives my Fabled monsters a 400 attack boost, but since I'm me, it gives my monsters 500 instead because I have two or less cards in my hand." Jason said as all the monsters gained 500 attack points and a skeletal figure appeared on the field above Jason.
"So it's a misprint."
"You got it, turn end."
Turn 4: Yugi H: 2 LP: 4000 SORL: 1
"I sacrifice my face down and summon Summoned Skull." Yugi said taking the card he drew and Marie the Fallen One flipped over as she disappeared into the graveyard. A giant skeleton demon took her place.
Summoned Skull Fiend/Normal 6 stars Attack: 2500 Defence: 1200
"Summoned Skull attack Fabled Urustos!"
"Not today, I activate Scrap-Iron Scarecrow." Jason said and the trap card flipped up taking the lightning attack.
"Nrg, turn end…"
Turn 5: Jason H: 1 LP: 4000
"No need to do much, so I'm just going to set this card and end it here."
Turn 6: Yugi H: 2 LP: 4000 SORL: 2
"Because Marie is in my graveyard, I gain 200 life points every standby phase. Next I summon Magician's Valkyria."
Magician's Valkyria Spellcaster/Effect 4 stars Attack: 1600 Defence: 1800
"I set a facedown and end my turn."
Turn 7: Jason H: 1 LP: 4000
Jason tsked. "Wasting time Yugi. And all of it is now gone. Turn end."
Turn 8: Yugi H: 1 LP: 4200 SORL: Gone
His life points went up another two hundred as he drew a card. "I normal summon Dark Tinker."
Dark Tinker Fiend/Tuner/Effect 2 stars Attack: 1000 Defence: 1300
A black spider like thing appeared next to him. He got a bit excited, but it went away quickly as he remember the time limit. There was no time for an intro for his new card to his deck.
"Hmm, a tuner, what food do you bring to the party?" Jason asked as he made sure he was doing it right, he only summoned the synchro monster called Light End Dragon once before and it was with the other group yesterday. He was summoning its opposite today. "I tune Summoned Skull with Dark Tinker and synchro summon Dark End Dragon."
Dark End Dragon Dragon/Synchro/Effect 8stars Attack: 2600 Defence: 2100
A black dragon appeared on the field with a large mouth on its belly.
"I activate Dark End Dragon's effect and lower his attack and defence by five hundred to destroy Fabled Valkyrus."
The warrior monster was eaten by the center mouth of the dragon and Jason growled.
"I attack Urustos-"
"Not happening, my trap card is still here."
"Too bad..." Yugi sighed as he turned his Valkyria into defence mode. "I set a card. Turn end."
Turn 9: Jason H: 2 LP: 4000
"I activate Pot of Greed." Jason called out after drawing his card which surprised Yugi. "And I discard a card and activate Lightning vortex."
"You can use spells without speed counters?!" Yugi exclaimed as all his monsters were destroyed. He worked hard on getting them and poof; they were gone.
"It's just a simple edit in the cards' programming. Nothing that we can't do. Making you think you had the advantage for the last few turns has been really fun."
Yugi growled as Jason sent another card to the graveyard. I special summon The Fabled Chawa and since I discarded The Fabled Catsith, I can destroy a card on the field, say goodbye to Ground Collapse."
"Dammit."
Next, I tune The Fabled Unicore with Chawa and synchro summon Fabled Ragin in attack mode."
A warrior Yugi had seen before appeared next to the duel runner ahead of him.
Fabled Ragin Fiend/Synchro/Effect 5 Stars Attack: 2300 Defence: 1800
"Now because of his effect I draw two cards." Jason drew his cards and discarded one of them. "I discard The Fabled Cerburrel to special summon Fabled Nozoochee. And because Cerburrel was sent... Well, you already know."
The Fabled Cerburrel appeared next to the strange, yellow, slug-like creature.
The Fabled Nozoochee Beast/Effect 2 stars Attack: 1200 Defence: 800
"Are you ever ending your turn?"
"You won't be getting a next turn so enjoy the moments you have left." Jason called back. "I normal summon Dianaira by releasing Nozouchee and tune him with Cerburrel to synchro summon Fabled Leviathan!"
Fabled Dianaira Fiend/Effect 8 stars Attack: 2800 Defence: 100
Fabled Leviathan Fiend/Synchro/Effect 10 Stars Attack: 3000 Defence: 2000
It was a short sight of a red bat creature before it was tuned out a creature Regan still had nightmares about. He wondered when the god complexed creature was going to appear. Unfortunately, he hoped he could have finished the duel before Jason could.
"I direct attack with Ragin!"
Fabled Ragin came at him with such speed, Yugi barely managed to activate his trap on time. "You activated my trap card: Nutrient Z."
"You may gain 4000 life points, but you aren't avoiding anything."
Yugi braced for the impact of the over charged creature. The creature struck and Yugi shouted as his runner swerved all over the road. Yugi grabbed his side where the creature attack and his outfit was ripped and small wound was bleeding.
"Urustos attacks you as well."
"Not happening, I activate my second trap card; I'm sure you're aware of its existence already, Scrap-Iron Scarecrow takes the blow instead of me and then returns to facedown position."
"And the odds of you making it out of a third attack are slim, you last card is a bluff, I can see it from here. Leviathan, give him a hint of what you plan on doing to him later."
Fabled Leviathan went in for an attack as Yugi activated the third card on the field. "I use Draining Shield adding his attack points to my life points."
Fabled Leviathan hissed as he clawed at a shield that formed around the bike.
"Just give in already! I have three powerful monsters and you have none with no cards in your hand."
"I still have life points left and thanks to you, I have an abundance of them." Yugi told him. "You are a virus that needs to be eradicated to make sure everyone I care about is safe. One of many that needs to be stopped."
"You think starting with me is going to make things change? Guess again, there are lots of us that will continue even if you leave here. Both in the past and in the future; this chaotic world will be in order once all of you are either part of our army or deceased."
"What you and your group are doing isn't order, it's the meaning of chaos by making puppets."
"Free choice is chaos, especially with those who are more powerful than the average human." Jason growled. "You should know that. I end my turn."
Turn 10: Yugi H: 0 LP: 9100
Yugi drew as his life points went up by two hundred. Jason had a point, powers were an additive, but even people with a lot of money could easily make a mess with a single choice. What could the free choice of those who could take out armies by themselves do if they acted on such ideas? Probably be less destructive than what They were planning. It was never good when a group wanted to make an army of people like him. "I activate Card of Sanctity."
Both of them drew cards until they had six cards in their hand and Jason's monsters dropped by 500 attack.
"I set three cards facedown and set a monster face down. Next I activate Gold Sarcophagus."
"Heh, planning two turns ahead, you have to make it through my next turn first."
"Aren't you a bit curious to my pick?" Yugi asked.
"Humor me if that's what you want to do."
"I'm placing The Winged Dragon of Ra into the box. Just a little heads up."
"And you think you're going to be able to summon your God card while my god is in play? Think again."
"We'll see. Turn end."
Turn 11: Jason H: 6 LP: 4000
"Ragin, attacks your facedown monster."
Fabled Ragin in a moment's notice attacked his monster which turned out to be Magician of Faith before it disappeared.
Magician of Faith Spellcaster/Effect 1 star Attack: 300 Defence: 400
"Let me guess, this is going to be a repeat from the last duel I had and you're bring back Swords of Revealing Light to stall for time to get your Egyptian God."
"Hardly, I'm retrieving Cards of Sanctity from my graveyard." Yugi stated and grabbed his card.
"What the hell do you plan on doing with that thing?"
"You'll find out shortly."
"Leviathan, take out some of those life points!"
Yugi braced himself for the impact, but nothing could prepare him for the onslaught that came, he would have avoided it, except he needed to be attacked for his plan to work. His runner was picked up from the ground and when it came back down it landed on the divider. He looked down at the ocean below and got off the divider before he became fish food. "My trap card activates: Token Help! Since I was attacked directly, I can activate this card to summon a goaten for every five hundred points of damage I took."
Five colorful, little goats appeared on his field in defence mode, all of them had 1400 attack and defence.
"This card also has another add-on, you discard a card, but I can't activate any set cards on my field for the rest of the battle phase."
"Screw your goats!" Jason shouted enraged. "Urustos attacks the red one."
"They're goatens…" Yugi corrected as the red one was destroyed causing the purple, yellow, blue and green to cover each other's eyes. "Goatens.
Turn 12: Yugi H: 1 LP: 6300
His life points went up to 6500 as he drew a card. "I activate Card of Sanctity, but since you already have six cards, I'll be replenishing my hand."
Jason scoffed as Yugi drew five cards and a smile formed. "What are you so happy about, your god card is still sitting out of play."
"That one may be, but I have three. I sacrifice my green, blue, and yellow goatens to summon Obelisk the Tormentor!"
"Son of a-" Jason's words were lost to the loud growl of Obelisk as he appeared just behind Yugi's runner.
Obelisk the Tormentor Divine-Beast 10 stars Attack: 4000 Defence: 4000
"Next I activate one of my facedown cards: Ultimate Offering and give up 500 life points to summon Green Gadget from my hand."
"So this is why you had all those healing cards."
"When in a new world, you need to adapt." Yugi stated as the green gadget appeared on the field.
Green Gadget Machine/Effect 4 stars Attack: 1400 Defence: 600
"I activate Obelisk's ability: by sacrificing two monsters he can wipe your field clean. Fist of Fate!"
The purple goaten and green gadget were squished in the fists of Obelisk and Obelisk wiped out the other side of the field in a single punch. Jason's running scrapped against the divider before he got control of it again.
"I end my turn."
"Damn you, you'll pay for this!" Jason growled as he drew a card.
Turn 13: Jason H: 6 LP: 4000
"I activate Monster Reborn to bring back Fabled Leviathan." Jason spat as his monster came back to the field. "You can't get rid of him that quickly."
"Can't say I didn't try…" Yugi mumbled to himself. Jason obviously had something planned as his monster was only 3000 attack while his god had 4000.
"I activate two more cards, Axe of Despair and Horn of the Unicorn bringing my god to 4700 attack points. Now who has the better god?! Leviathan destroy that lower creature."
The Fabled Leviathan came at his obelisk and Yugi shook his head. "And you wonder why I think your organization is a source of chaos, you rage when you can't have your way and look over tiny mistakes; you activated my trap card: Scrap-Iron Scarecrow."
"Bastard."
"Now that you are done taking up time with your temper tantrum, allow me to end it all."
Turn 14: Yugi H: 5 LP: 6000
"My Draw!" he shouted. "Now on my stand-by phase, I gain 200 life points also Gold Sarcophagus activates from the graveyard adding Ra to my hand."
"You don't have enough monsters to summon Ra."
"I know," he told him. "I activate Magical Stone Excavation to add Cards of Sanctity back to my hand." He sent two cards to the grave and activated another spell card. "I activate Soul Exchange so your Leviathan can be a tribute for my summon."
"No!"
"Yes, I activate Monster Reborn to bring back Dark End Dragon." His dragon appeared on the field in a dark mist. "Now I remove from play Summoned Skull and Magician's Valkyria to special summon Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning."
"Bastard…"
"I sacrifice Fabled Leviathan, Dark End Dragon and Black Luster Solider and summon The Winged Dragon of Ra!" The sky darkened and a sphere came from the sky. "Almighty protector of the sun and sky, please heed my cry. Transform thyself from orb of light and bring me victory in this fight. Envelop the city with your glow and heal its festering wounds. But first I shall call out thy name, Winged Dragon of Ra!"
The sphere changed into a dragon and screeched loudly echoing across the city. Everything was a little brighter and warmer.
The Winged Dragon of Ra Divine-Beast 10 stars Attack: 10 300 Defence: 6600
"You may have two gods, but you can't attack me this turn do to your Soul Exchange." Jason howled. "And it will be your mistake for using it."
"We'll see." Yugi replied. All he needed was one card. "I activate Card of Sanctity and draw six more cards."
"I'm surprised you have six more cards."
'Gives me the advantage to getting the card I need.' he thought as he drew. "I activate Ultimate Offering and give up 2000 life points so I can summon four more times. I summon Witch of the Black Forest, her effect goes off and allows me to add a card from my deck to my hand under 1500 defence; I choose Kuriboh. Next I summon Yellow Gadget which allows me to add Green Gadget to my hand. For a third, I summon Beta the Magnet Warrior."
Witch of the Black Forest Spellcaster/Effect 4 stars Attack: 1100 Defence: 1200
Yellow Gadget Machine/Effect 4 stars Attack: 1200 Defence: 1200
Beta the Magnet Warrior Rock/Normal 4 stars Attack: 1700 Defence: 1600
"Just add another one, I dare you. You'll regret it."
"I don't think I'll be regretting anything." Yugi challenged. "I sacrifice Witch of the Black Forest, Yellow Gadget, and Beta the Magnet Warrior to summon Slifer the Sky Dragon. I'm making sure you never hurt another soul again; in the past, present or future!"
A large red dragon appeared from the lightening filled sky and coiled in the clouds before hovering over his runner.
Slifer the Sky Dragon Divine-Beast/Effect 10 stars Attack: 5000 Defence: 5000
"Slifer's attack may drop, but I can't have you blocking anything, I activate mystical space typhoon to destroy your Scrap-Iron Scarecrow. Finally I activate Turn Jump, this allows me to skip three of your turns and three of mine and land me into my Battle Phase."
"Are you kidding me?"
"I have never been more serious in my life. Allow this to be an example for your group not to mess with things that they have no idea what they are dealing with. Attack and obliterate his life points!"
He couldn't even hear if the man screamed as his god monsters attacked. Yugi stopped the runner as Jason's runner exploded into a wall with no driver to control it. He was exhausted and felt like throwing up. Jason was never coming back, incinerated by the three gods as he didn't have the heart to send him to the Shadow Realm. It was something he couldn't do even with all the crap Them and he had done to every one of them. But he was gone, and that was a start. He walked over to the rubble and pulled out a gun looking thing from the Portal games. It had to be the portal gun older Kaiba was talking about.
Winner: Yugi
"Yugi!" A familiar voice called both in the link and out loud.
He turned to it and threw off his helmet as he ran towards the voice. He caught her as she crashed into him and he hugged her tightly. He was so happy to be able to hold her again, it took away all the pain. "I'm so sorry I couldn't be there to save you."
"It's alright." She smiled wiping away tears. "I'm just happy you're safe. I thought for sure my nightmare was going to happen and then you pulled out all three gods."
"He wasn't going to get away. Not again. I hope you are okay, not that you can be fine... I can't imagine what they wanted to do with you."
"I'll be alright," she answered. "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right? With my aura stabilized any injuries I did have are gone. Now I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop."
"All the more reason to hurry home." He stated and turned to the others that helped get Regan back. "What's become of the headquarters?"
"Sector security is dealing with anything they come across and destroying everything after it's been processed." Yusei said. "They will be looking into any more locations across the globe to make sure they are gone."
"That's good." Regan sighed. "Hopefully with anything we learned we can help others in the past from them."
"Others?"
"There were other aura users that are dead now. Perhaps we can help some of them with some of the research here."
"It would be nice, but we are on a time limit." Bakura stated. "We have to get home within the next twenty minutes according to the chip or something bad will happen in the past."
"No, we can't! Not yet." Regan pleaded. "The others-"
"Are just going to have to be found the old fashion way." Yugi told her as a plan was being made. "We just need to get the Millennium Ring first."
"The ring?"
"I hate that thing..." Bakura sighed. "But Yugi's got a point, it's really useful but I'm still very much in disagreement to the whole thing."
"Well it's great and all that you have to find an ancient GPS but, you need to get home now." Jack stated bluntly.
"Who knew you actually paid attention to such things in school." Crow played and Jack smacked him in the back of the head. "Ow, well some of us need to head back to the mess just in case one of Them tries to hide anything."
"And the other half needs to remove the monsters running around the city." Akiza sighed.
"The monsters won't leave until the portal is closed." Luna told her before turning to Yugi. "Thank you-"
"For bringing all of us so much trouble," Leo began interrupting his twin. "And for saving my sister's life."
Atem nodded. "If we see each other again, hopefully it will be under better circumstances."
"I'm not complaining too much, we got to duel each other when it wasn't life threatening, how many people get to say that they dueled any of you guys." Crow laughed. "But seriously, keep well."
"Likewise." Yugi told them and the future duelists all left in two directions, but Yusei. "You're staying?"
"Someone needs to make sure you guys actually make it there." He replied and sighed. "There isn't much time to get to the square..."
"We're just going to have to speed then." Regan said. She still didn't seem happy about leaving. "Can't be late to a party where we are the main guests, now can we?"
"No, I guess not." Yusei replied with a sad smile. Something wasn't sitting right in Yugi's mind at the way he said it. Something was going to happen in the past, something unpleasant.
They got onto the duel runners and Regan hopped on the back of his and they took off like jet planes.
00000
Regan held onto Yugi tightly as he drove. His riding outfit was wet with sweat and blood, but she didn't mind too much. He was alive and that's all she cared about. Alive and well and she was able to hold him. She looked over to Ryou's runner and saw Nile sitting with him chatting about something. If only the spirit could hold onto her hero in flesh and blood. Regan doubted that there was going to be an incident were the spirit was given a body in a fluke accident like Atem. They stopped at the fountain and Yugi pulled out a gun like object.
"Is this the thing Jason dropped when you sent him to the shadow realm?" She asked.
"Yea, and according to your brother, this thing can get us home." Yugi answered as he looked over it. "I'm not entirely sure how to use is, it's not like there are walls here that you can just aim at."
"Maybe you just shoot it and it forms in the air." Atem suggested.
"Before you guys go, you probably want your clothes." Yusei said suddenly as he ran from his apartment with her backpack in hand. "Everything you guys had and a few tokens from the others."
She took it. "Thanks Yusei."
"No problem, just-" he was cut off by a shout of surprise. They turned around and Yugi was still aiming at a colourful portal like portal. "Be careful..."
"I think I figured it out." Yugi said as he lowered the gun slowly.
"Thank you for everything." Ryou told him.
"Ya, and tell Trudge that he's actually grown up a bit for me, would you?" Atem said. "And that we should play another game sometime."
Yugi started laughing. "If only we could see his face at that."
"I'll take a picture in case you guys visit." Yusei answered. Regan felt something in his aura that he wanted to tell something to them, but couldn't.
"I guess we'll see you later." She told him as the others jumped through the portal. She was about to head into the portal when someone placed a hand on her shoulder. She already knew it was Yusei from his aura when she turned to him, not that it was hard to tell, as he was the only one there. But it felt nice to be able to sense aura again. She turned to him in confusion. "Yusei?"
"Yea I know you have to go, but I need to warn you about the future for you."
"What about it that it's so important you have to tell me?"
"Do you want to know why so many people were confused about you being here? Or why your brother didn't come see you off?"
She caught a dreaded feeling from him, but she waved it off. "I suppose it's because I'm turning seventeen and I'm supposed to be forty-eight. As for my brother, he's a busy man."
Yusei shook his head as his face darkened. "No, it's because you don't graduate."
"What do you mean I don't graduate? I've seen a future too and it's completing school, and winning the cheer team and having a life with Yugi and my friends and even a new family."
"What you were shown was a different future. Regan, you don't live to see 2013. You are murder on December thirty-first, be wary of your surrounds. I don't know if you live or die will affect the course of Zero Reverse and the history of this future, but try to live."
She swallowed, it was hard to comprehend what he was saying. There was silence as she tried to think of something to ease his mind. "I'll do my best, and as much as this past you have hasn't been the best; I hope I don't change anything if I do live. The world needs more people like you."
He nodded and looked behind her. "You should get going."
"Yeah," She replied and turned to the portal. "Good luck and thanks for everything thing."
She didn't look back as she jumped into the portal. She gritted her teeth as she had a little time to think on her own. Did she really die in six months' time? She wanted to grab hold of the future that she might have had, but it slowly slipped away leaving only the twins, Terra and Cloud, to smile back at her. She was going to fight for the chance to live, just to see them and Yugi smile back at her.
She walked out of the portal to be met with Ms. Coral looking very pissed off at their return. "Even after all this hard work, you still tear it down. It makes me sick."
Regan was about to ask what she was talking about when a gunshot rang through the air. Yugi fell to the ground as blood started to stain his clothing.
"Yugi!" Regan screamed as she started to run to him. Her short sprint came to a stop when their teacher stepped over his body and held the barrel to her head.
"Make a move, and I blow out their brains." The teacher told her aiming a second gun in Atem and Ryou. She had the same portal gun Yugi had dropped a few seconds after being shot on her hip.
"You're Rock? You are a part of them? How-"
"It's amazing how much you can't see without your ability. Needless to say, the experiment reveal much information over the past few months."
Regan didn't get to say anything as a gunshot echoed and blood splattered on her face. The woman fell to the ground. She turned to the person who shot and saw Seto lowering his gun. She didn't say anything as she ran over the woman's body and dropped down at Yugi's side. She turned him on his back and he coughed sending more blood on her as he tried to speak she held the wound to keep it from bleeding out.
"Hey now, don't talk. Is there a doctor or something nearby?!" she asked her brother as Téa, Joey, and Tristan came from the school. "Seto, do something!'
Her brother stood there without a word and no expression on his face or in his aura. She turned back to Yugi and realized quickly that his aura was fading. She turned to Atem and Ryou. "Guys!"
"There isn't anything we can do for him." Atem managed to get out after a moment. "Even if there were a doctor here, I don't think they would be able to do anything."
"No, no, no, no." She started crying. No one had said anything about Yugi dying. Not here. Not now. She screamed, "Yugi!" Suddenly her hands grew warm and aura formed from them covering Yugi's wound. Yugi took a gulp of air as the light died. "Yugi..."
"Regan... How'd you...?" He started and she shook her head she didn't have an answer other than desperation.
"Who knew Pokémon movies had actual practice to them." She finally said as she smiled. She wiped away her tears. Exhaustion hit her like a wall and she almost fell over. "Nrg, you should still go see a doctor. I'm not sure what I did other than you can breathe."
"Are you alright?" He asked sitting up, he winced.
"Yea, I'm good." She answered her world was fuzzy, but she stood up anyway. "No time for a break yet, there are still monsters running around."
"They can be handled without you." Seto growled. "You've had enough for one day."
"When the rush is over is when I'm done for the day. Now how the hell are you going get her to wherever you're going with her without anyone seeing?"
"Blue-eyes."
"Right..."
"Well, while the school picks itself off the ground, Téa, can you take these four to the medical ward?"
"Where da hell you goin'?" Joey asked her brother.
"I need to check on something. Communications should be up by now if there is an unexpected event contact me."
"We don't need medical attention." Ryou stated. "At least I don't."
"You just traveled through space/time, you're going to get scanned for a number of tests; that type of thing doesn't get tossed around lightly."
"It does with us..."
"He's got a point, science and magic are basically the same thing with us." Atem agreed.
"Just go, last thing I want is my students being scarred for life because one of you four decided to grow an extra arm in the middle of class."
"Fine." The two males agreed.
Regan helped Yugi get on his feet and they started off back to the school as Kaiba summoned a blue-eyes.
Regan stopped before hobbling over to her brother who was picking up the two portal guns. Healing people was not going to be a thing in the middle of something unless she wasn't needed. She was drained. "What are you checking up on?"
"Something."
"And that something would be...?"
"Something I refuse to tell you anything about for your own protection."
"I don't think knowing something is going to make my life less safe considering."
"Trust me, it's for the best that you don't know." He urged. "Now go before I have to fly you back to the school because you passed out. Your little healing trick took a lot out of you."
She nodded. He was right, as usual. "Alright, well hopefully whatever you are checking up on is in one piece. But before you go, I have a question."
"What is it?"
"How did you know it was Ms. Coral – mean Taylor Coral and where she was going to be?"
"She was the only one unaccounted for this morning and the only one I didn't remember hiring. I also have three dragons that hunt down enemies by sight and scent."
"Then how'd she become a teacher here?"
"There's still someone on the island that has yet to be found working for Them."
She sighed, and here she thought that just maybe it was over for now with that group. After everything…
"Hey," He started as he placed a hand on her shoulder. "You did well today, and you saved my rival's life."
"For my benefit." She giggled slightly.
"Well, it works out in my favor too, now we can discuss anything you want to talk about later. Alright?"
She nodded.
"Good, now I'm going to find the bastard that brought these people onto the island and you'll be safe."
"Don't promise something that you can't keep!" She hissed. Her anger was being fueled by his again and she tried to control herself. It was weird to be at full power with a factory reset. Even if he was speaking kindly that only Mokuba, Alex, and her received and sometimes Roland, his anger was still blazing like magma. "I'm never going to be safe. None of us are ever going to be safe. It's just how life is, people like us are never truly fitting in and we sure as hell have a lot more enemies to deal with because whenever one goes away, another one shows up to take their place. But I do appreciate it that you do try your hardest to keep away those who wish to harm me."
He nodded before picking up the body of Taylor Coral and getting up in his dragon. "I will kill everyone that tries to do anything to harm you, and if another shows up, it will be their problem from not taking a hint. We are not people to be messed with, especially when it's me."
She smiled and he took off and left her to walk over to the leaving group of friends. At least everyone made it home safely. She turned from her friends to the dragon that was leaving her sights. She wasn't going to tell anyone about what Yusei had told her. For their protection, they didn't need to know that she had half a year left with them before she was murdered. Until then, she was going to spend the rest of her days like normal, just because an outcome dictates one scenario, doesn't mean that's the way it will turn out. She dodged one, shown another and told a third, who knew what the real ending was.
Fun right!
… I'd like to think so…
Anyway if you enjoyed it, you can leave a review with the fancy buttons at the bottom and if you haven't favorited or followed yet and wish to read more when they are updated, those buttons are there as well.

That's right, a crossover! Legend of Zelda: Expanding the Triforce Book 2: After is coming soon… ish… it could be soon, but I don't want to get your hopes up and then crush them when I get distracted again.
Here's the little preview:
Chapter 5
Expanding Souls
Thursday July 5th, 2012
This was not how Seto wanted to deal with Regan's bad Thursdays. He thought that maybe since it hadn't been a week since the last demented event happened, maybe there was a breather to deal with any loop holes, but no, the universe loved to test his family's strength. He didn't know how he kept going, why he didn't just give up and hide. Maybe it was for the freedom of his two siblings, but even then, here he was watching the video feed of a camera that had happened almost an hour ago. He was going to have to go in smart to make sure it was clean and nothing horrible happened like it always did. Someone he had trusted to a pretty deep degree for him stabbed him in the back and the very girl they pledged to protect now had her at gun point. It was a very threatening message. Don't come to the arranged meeting place with the portal gun within the hour and his sister was dead. But it wasn't just him in the room thinking hard. He had retrieve Yugi from his class to help with the situation. He needed to be there as well. Atem was already at the scene, out cold. Partially Seto's fault, but seventy percent Atem's fault. He should have been prepared for this trained professional.
Yea, that's all I'm giving you. :P
