I finally managed to finish this chapter. Sorry for the long wait. I have a new format that I wanted to start only to realize, shit, I'm in the middle of a volume so… that's not happening. Maybe in the rewrites when I get back on that train, but for now I'll keep the same format and see what I want to do later on.
I posted up a new story not long ago (October, ha!) if you want to check it out. It follows the new format if you are curious about it. It's a little… something from my usual so I hope you guys like it if you check it out.
Special thanks to my friend Tyrranic for keeping me on track and Natewantstobattle along with Mandopony (Emperor's New Clothes and Purple respectively) for keeping me writing at and correcting quickly for you guys to enjoy quicker.
If you want to see what else I post you can follow me as the author and/or you can follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Deviantart and Tumblr by looking up my name.
I hope you enjoy.
Chapter 5
Expanding Souls
Thursday July 5th, 2012
This was not how Seto wanted to deal with Regan's bad Thursdays. He thought that maybe since it hadn't been a week since the last demented event happened, maybe there was a breather to deal with any loop holes, but no, the universe loved to test his family's strength. He didn't know how he kept going, why he didn't just give up and hide. Maybe it was for the freedom of his two siblings, but even then, here he was watching the video feed of a camera that had happened almost an hour ago. He was going to have to go in smart to make sure it was clean and nothing horrible happened like it always did. Someone he had trusted to a pretty deep degree for him stabbed him in the back and the very girl they pledged to protect now had her at gun point. It was a very threatening message. Don't come to the arranged meeting place with the portal gun within the hour and his sister was dead. But it wasn't just him in the room thinking hard. He had retrieve Yugi from his class to help with the situation. He needed to be there as well. Atem was already at the scene, out cold. Partially Seto's fault, but seventy percent Atem's fault. He should have been prepared for this trained professional. He had warned him, now it as up to Yugi and him to get his sister out of harm's way, again.
Why had Melissa suddenly want to the portal gun? He had no idea. You needed two, one on each side of a time zone for them to work and he had destroyed the second one once he was done messing around with it in experiments. Unfortunately, Regan couldn't protect herself was because Melissa had removed his sister's puzzle while she was sleeping getting over the events of the future. The super healing of the aura took its toll once it was stabilized again and Seto had ordered her to rest for the week with medical exams once a day. The only reason why he knew she was missing was because she didn't show up for it. All that was there was a tape created by the campus security member telling him where to meet with Yugi, Bakura and Atem. The fool of the pharaoh left not long afterwards to deal with Melissa before actually hearing what Seto had to say about the girl. She wasn't just some trained professional; she was the professional of the highest quality. It was the sole reason why he hired her. She was a Knight's Templar. Ryou Bakura was nowhere to be found once Yugi had told him the news. Something happened between the albino and the spirit that resigned in his sister's puzzle after the events in the future. He just disappeared through a shadow portal and hadn't been seen since. Yugi and Seto were currently trying to think of something to do to deal with the Templar while waiting for the albino to return.
Eventually, Seto got tired of waiting. "I don't care if that white haired kid isn't there, we have to go now, and Regan can't handle being unstable right now."
"If Melissa is as trained as you say she is, how the hell are we supposed to go against her? She is obviously aware of our abilities."
"Very aware, but you are going to have to do something she isn't aware of."
"I can't, its unpredictable when it works and when it doesn't. I've tried, but even Atem couldn't do anything and he has the shadows working with him. Bakura as well, he freaking teleported and we haven't heard from him. I can't do anything but summon some of the shadows when Regan needs a bit of comfort."
"You used them fine a couple of months back," Seto told him.
"Yea, the one time because it was Diabound. I doubt I'll be able to use them like that again."
"Even with Regan unstable and at gun point."
"You know what happened in the future, I was pretty much useless in protecting her."
Seto sighed angrily. "I hate to admit this, but you the most powerful of all of us when it comes to Shadow Magic. Regan might have hers merged with her aura, but it's nowhere near as responsive to when you need it and how you use it. You are the pharaoh's little respawn."
"As encouraging as that is, that doesn't give me any way of the shadow realm to responding to my needs unless it's absolutely necessary. I'm lucky that monsters summon without fault here."
"And why is that?"
"How about you tell me genius?"
Seto was remotely surprised at his sarcasm, but he answered the blind fool anyways. "Your confidence sucks. You can't advance if you don't want to advance."
"Says the guy that doesn't use it."
"Because I don't want to be a freak like you, I have a real world to live in as well as this freak show of a world. You need to actually trust in what the hell you are doing instead of hiding like the little kid you used to be. You haven't changed and that's the reason why the Shadow Realm isn't working with you."
Yugi growled before turning towards the door. Heaven forbid he had to actually work to get somewhere. "Let's go before that Templar gets any funny ideas. I don't want to think of what imaginative ideas she could do to Regan to twist our arms anymore."
Seto didn't say anything as he followed the duelist out the door.
They walked out of the building as students came and went avoiding his path as he walked which was in their best interest. Several students muttered to themselves as Seto followed the shorter fellow and he turned to them glaring. They shrieked before running back to the building. Last thing he needed was some morons getting his sister killed or themselves. Then their parents would be questioning things and he would have to tell them that their kid was an idiot, which was a waste of his time. The travel between the school and the woods was quick and a blur in Seto's mind as he thought about everything. There was something he was missing, there had to be. Obviously, there was the fact that Melissa was not explaining herself, but what did she want to do with one portal gun? He looked at the useless object in his hand. There was no use to it as he destroyed its partner himself. Where was she planning on going even if she got one to work? Unless her Templar status was just a cover and she was really working with Them, which was a possibility that even he could have over looked until now. If that was the case, he was taking Regan to an underground bunker until They were destroyed. He knew Regan would understand, whether she liked it was a different question that he was willing to sacrifice for her safety and that of others. Not that he really cared about the rest of the world, but he made money from them so it was a little important.
They came up to the meeting spot which also happened to be the spot where the portal to the future was original created not even a week ago. Yugi's blood still stained the ground as it hadn't rained and a bit of the grass was scorched from Regan's spontaneous healing act. Melissa was nowhere to be seen and it allowed him to think on Regan's aura progress, she should have been an aura master by now, her growth from learning over several months to relearning in less than a couple of months and becoming stronger was something that worried him as she wasn't a master yet. She couldn't have been an aura master yet or else That group would have left her alone, and at the same time, it should have took longer to relearn than the first time learning it, according to his research. Her strength didn't seem to have an end anywhere in sight and he wondered if maybe They were influencing her growth, or other non-human figures in their life. He growled as the options started to pile. He needed a room with whiteboards and computers to figure anything out. His ears heard the rustle of a bush and Melissa and his sister came out of it. Regan looked ready to drop and was being held up by Melissa who had a gun held snug against the girl.
"Hand her over," Seto demanded looking at the Templar, he didn't want to meet Regan's face. He should have protected her more. "And I won't send you back to your people in several envelopes."
"Last I checked, I'm the one with the gun, your sister and her stabilizer." Melissa stated shifting her hip and the puzzle hanging from it bounced off her leg slightly. "Atem thought he had the advantage, but it turns out he was a lousy fighter."
"Were you expecting something more? He's ancient."
She shrugged. "Maybe I did, but it doesn't matter, you hand me the portal gun and make it work and no one has to die."
"What do you want to do with it anyway?" Yugi questioned. "Everyone here knows it's useless."
"Heh, useless for time travel perhaps, but that's not what I want it for."
"Then what?!" Seto snapped at her, he was done playing this game, every moment passing was another moment when Regan's already unhealed state was jeopardized and everyone on the island could be in danger. "What could you have possibly wanted to do with this item that you gathered every shadow user on the island to use it?"
"I want to save my brother." Melissa said seriously.
"You… your brother?" Regan asked in heavy breaths. "How…"
"How am I going to save my brother? Well I need that gun for a start. He was taken, kidnapped, in a mission back in February and I finally was given the details on his mission and where he was taken. Turns out he wasn't that far from your old home Regan."
"W-what would he be doing in Canada?"
"Any teleportation you thought about trying to do with this gun is futile, nothing works with it for that kind of function." Seto explained, he didn't care about the details. "Now hand over Regan and perhaps I'll let you leave the island without questions for you reasoning."
"I don't need to teleport into some underground base! I need to go to a different-"
She didn't get to finish as Bakura appeared out of nowhere tackling Melissa to the ground. A gun shot rang through the air and Regan's scream ran through Seto's ears. He rushed over to her as Yugi went passed him and went into fighting against Melissa as Bakura flew over Regan's body. Seto dropped beside Regan as Atem came into the mix from the bush only to be a cushion for Yugi. Seto dropped the gun on the ground as he looked over Regan. She was keeping herself from shouting in his ear which was grateful of her as he looked over the wound. Her outfit was starting to go red on her right side where a hole was.
"Regan, I need to turn you on your side, it's going to hurt."
"Just do it…" She said without unclenching her jaw. He lifted her off her injured side and she couldn't keep it in as she screamed before silencing herself. He ducked just as a body of one of the boys flew overhead and saw that there was an exit wound, at least the bullet wasn't going to be attacking her spine when moving her. He looked up at the boy that flew by to see Atem looking like it was the bully's recent punching bag. "Get me her puzzle."
"Don't you think we are trying that?" the male responded sarcastically.
"Bakura!"
"Wha-aah!" The white hair male started before he landed next to Seto. "What?!"
"Be the bastard thief you are and get that puzzle, it can heal this wound or at least heal one side. I rather not hold two wounds and cause her more pain than I have to."
He growled before getting up and Atem and Bakura went after Melissa who threw Yugi off to the side. He turned back to Regan who was looking up at him with a small grin.
"I'm a mess, aren't I?" she huffed out. Her fever was most definitely there.
"Nothing more than usual." He told her. She has been shot before, attacked, un-puzzled, just never within a recovery period. He didn't care who Melissa was trying to save, he was going to make sure she regretted ever touching Regan. He took off his jacket and pushed it onto her wound and she gasped in pain. "Sorry."
"It must be bad if you are apologizing."
"Must be." He smirked before turning back to the skirmish. "What the hell is-" He stopped mid-sentence as Bakura was coming right for them and Seto picked up Regan and moved her a few feet before Bakura landed where they were a split second before.
"Got it." Bakura stated as he lifted the puzzle and got up.
"Took you long enough," Seto growled as Bakura came over. "There are three of you, three shadow users against one, non-magic woman."
"That woman, is not human, and if she is… Templars are ridiculous." The British male panted. "Here."
Seto grabbed the puzzle and put it around Regan's neck. Her fever seemed to drop quickly, but the wound didn't close all the way, just the back part did. "I thought something like this was going to happen at some point."
"What?"
"You're aura is shot from your future attack and your little heal when stabilized again can only do so much since you are still injured… god dammit." He muttered to himself as he put her fully on the ground and held the wound. Suddenly, the two tri-colored hair boys landed next to them and Kaiba looked up from Regan to see Melissa with her hands on the portal gun.
"Now that should be enough shadow magic to create a portal in this unstable space."
"Unstable?" Atem asked.
"The time rift," Seto told him. "You knew the space-time continuum was weak here."
"Well duh, why else would I lead you all the way out here when I could have had you anywhere else?" She answered cheekily as she looked it over. "Now how to use this."
Seto went to get up, but Regan slipped from under his hold and grabbed Melissa's arm.
"You aren't using that anywhere." Nile growled which gave Seto the hint that it wasn't Regan who moved from the ground. Melissa tossed the girl to the ground holding out an actual gun with her other arm. "You-"
"You are not required, Nile, and neither is the person who owns that body."
Nile started to form a shield but it faltered blinking out of existence. Seto stood there helpless, he could bring out a weapon, or even a dragon, but one movement that appeared from the corner of Melissa's eye she was going to shoot her.
"You're out of juice without damaging your reserves and you can't risk Regan's life by ripping them open. Looks like it's game over for you."
"No!" Yugi shouted just as the gun fired and a black wall appeared from out of nowhere blocking Nile/Regan from being hit an inch away from her head.
The bullet dropped on the ground with a small ding as it bounced off a rock. Melissa turned around in anger and Nile jumped at the chance to attack. There was small struggle as the shadow joined in the fight. Seto, Atem, and Bakura joined in and Seto removed the real gun from Melissa when the portal gun activated.
"It's working!" Melissa said in glee and Seto had to close his eyes as a bright light came from it and everything went white.
00000
Regan found herself standing in the middle of a forest, alone and in a bit of pain. The trees varied from regular sized trees to ginormous ones that seemed like she was in British Colombia. Nothing like Duel Academy Island. She looked around with her aura, which was starting to work a bit better than the shield, there wasn't anyone around and she sighed sharply as her wound pulsed. She was going to Melissa a piece of her mind when she found her for shooting her and almost destroying her brain. She turned to her puzzle and expected Nile to be out talking to her, but she wasn't. "Nile?"
No answer came from the item. Regan started to panic as she read the object, there was nothing in it. "Nile!"
Suddenly something came into her radar and her panic turned to awareness. Something rushed at her from the bushes as she pulled out her blades. The blow came on Regan as she expected and blocked it in response, sending the attacker away. Grey-white hair partially covered crimson eyes that glared with a bit of anger and confusion. Obviously, he wasn't used to someone sending his silent attack back at him. Though, she had to give it to him. His attack was strong and if she hadn't been prepared for the heavy blow, she would have probably been sliced or flat on the ground.
"What? Didn't think I saw you coming?" Regan asked the male in black. "You can't hide from me that easily."
"Who the hell are you?" The young adult asked in an accent she had never heard before.
"I would like to ask you the same thing. But I'm not in the mood to play twenty questions."
"Neither am I." The swordsman replied and came at her again.
She defended with a bit of ease and struck back with an aura blast throwing him back a bit. There was a flash of confusion before a grin formed on his lips. He suddenly was a lot quicker as he rushed at her like it was exciting. She defended again and kicked him away before sending two more aura streams at him. They hit him and he went through a couple of smaller trees that fell a few seconds afterwards. What kind of person smiles like that in a sword fight? It scared her slightly. Her vision grew blurry for a moment as she grabbed her side. The liquid feeling of blood reached her touch senses within her hand; she must have been hurt worse than she thought by Melissa. Crazy woman, now here she was, wherever that was, because all she was looking for was her brother. Seriously, she could have just asked. Regan knew what it was like to have a brother missing. The plan though was off someone's rocker and the answer was still going to be a no, but it's the thought of even asking would have been nice. Now here she was bleeding slowly and in some strange place with some lunatic running back at her after that blow with a black handle that she could have sworn she had seen before. She needed a closer look.
She ran towards her opponent and a glint of amusement painted across the male's aura along with the enjoyment causing her to avoid trying to get a look at his blade. He was too nuts and unpredictable to even get a small look. There was a time and a place to fight, this wasn't it, and she doubted that it would ever be with this… guy, could she call him that? She sent more streams which he either dodged or deflected away and continued to continue the assault on her. She really hoped that he would've back down by now, but that wasn't her luck. She didn't want to kill him or even mortally wounded him; she just wanted to get the hell away from him and find someone she knew. She was thinking too much in her head when she realized that he had already adapted to her battle changes and his sword was coming down on her head. She made a hasty shield with her aura and barely moved out of the way as it shattered. Three wing like formations were the handle with a reddish-gold jewel in the center. A triangle was etched into the blade that was separated into three different triangles was all she saw, but that was all she needed. There was a reason she had recognized it. It was impossible, a cosplay maybe…
"A fake perhaps…" She muttered out loud accidently as she defended again shoving him away. 'Nile, where are you?'
No response came from inside her puzzle.
"What's fake sweat heart? Certainly not this fight, I haven't had a good one in months."
"You have the same sword for the character… red eyes, and the outfit is really detailed. You can't even tell that you're wearing contacts."
"What the hell are you going on about? You think I'm some fake?!" the man growled, his temper was quick. "Who the hell do you think you are calling me a fake?!"
His aura filled with rage causing her to barely move out of his death dealing blows. How could some cosplayer be this delusional that they thought they were some fictional character? To top it off, what brought him so far into the bush? Conventions took place in cities. Maybe he was doing camera shots and had a break? Whatever it was, the man in front of her was dangerous and knew how to use a sword. Something came to mind as she deflected his sword away. What did Melissa say before she ended up here alone? Something about her brother being kidnapped with something, some investigation in Canada back in February which was a month before the Bermuda incident… She didn't want to teleport to somewhere on the globe…she started with di before Ryou cut her off. What starts with di that you could-. There was no way that she used the portal gun like that, it needed two guns, one for each side. Was this a different world, a different dimension? Regan shook her head; that was impossible, this guy was probably just some poor soul that needed his meds.
"Hey! Pay attention!" He raged at her as he came up to her. "I'll show not to underestimate me!"
She pushed him away, for a small breather. The battle was taking its toll on her already injured body. He didn't stay away for long as he rushed back and sped up his attacks with even heavier blows. With every blow his satisfaction in his aura grew making her fear him even more. She had never felt the fear before with an actual person. This, person… this monster, was something she had never dealt with, but at the same time something was off. His very existence seemed completely off. Like not being a full soul. Ripped and tugged, damaged, buried and risen to be buried and risen again to learn everything at once only to be killed again. It was tormenting to even read. She shook her head as she sent several powerful beams at him before charging. She was over thinking everything. She didn't have to kill him to get out of the situation. She just needed to knock him out into next week. If this guy really was just a cosplayer, he should be wearing down as well, but he wasn't showing any signs of slowing down. Her sight blurred for a moment giving him the edge to push his attack and she ran into a tree behind her.
"You have to tell me, what kind of power do you have?" he asked in a threatening manner.
"Something you don't." Regan responded trying to keep his blade away from her. It was becoming very difficult.
"Not yet." He grinned.
She glared, "What are you?"
He didn't get to respond as the sounds of horse hooves hitting the ground came to them and she took the advantage of his distraction and kneed him. He dropped and she dropped kicked him to the ground. She immediately regretted the decision as she scream when a sharp pain ran through her side and fell to the ground. She took a few breaths only to sense the guy starting to get up again. She grabbed her sword just in time to block his attack. She charged her blade and threw the aura stream up at her attacker sending him off out of her vision. She sat up to see him get up from going through a very large nearby tree. The horse hooves were closer and she stood up as the large tree fell down. She hoped it was someone with a sane mind, but she couldn't risk being attacked by a second attacker. The second person came through the bush and stopped in front of the male that was readying for another charge. Regan readied her blades as the blonde got off the horse.
"What the hell are you doing out here?!" the blonde female exclaimed. "Seriously, I just chased you from the goddamn graveyard all the way to the fucking forest to see you trashing it up!"
"If you're abilities were up to par, you would have noticed that there was a disturbance which is why Dean ditched!" the man shouted back.
"It's not that I didn't notice, it's the fact that you just took off, you can't defeat Dean by yourself, and we don't have any weakness on him." The girl yelled back getting off her horse.
"So you were just going to ignore the disturbance?"
"I was going to discuss it with you and depending on what the hell it was, with the others back in town. For all we know it's a horde of monsters like what happened back at the Sacred Grounds."
"Well thank the gods, it wasn't that." He mocked like he was upset that it wasn't a horde of monsters. "How about you turn around and see for yourself what one of the disturbances was? If you weren't so slow, you could see for yourself that it's a little different than usual."
"When has it been usual?!"
Regan started to take a few steps back putting her swords away, they were in a full on argument that didn't make any sense. She turned around only to find she was caught on something and couldn't move forward. She turned to what snagged her jacket and found that the horse was holding onto her collar.
"What you like it? Take it," She whispered to the horse as she undid the jacket. "I have more back home."
She slipped it off and started to run when the horse started freaking out.
"Hey! Where do you think you're going?!" the man yelled at her, but she didn't bother turning around as she disappeared into the bushes. She needed to find everyone else. Either they were both delusional or she really was stuck someplace with monsters and the others could be in trouble, more trouble than she was.
She didn't get far as the horse and the aura of the other girl were gaining on her before stopping right in front of her. She looked up at and she recognized the rider. "Electra?"
"R-Regan?!" the female stuttered and Regan nodded. "When- How did you get here?"
"What the hell are you doing here with that guy?!" Regan exclaimed as she looked over her old friend. Most definitely a weird outfit. She was wearing chest armor that looked a bit like a dragon's: gold, silver and red. An old style, dark green short sleeved shirt and beige pants. Her black boots and gloves were modern with metal knee pads and metal elbow pads. The blonde had a really cool black leather scabbard attached to her side that was attached with a black belt that crossed her chest and on her hip with a purple handle. She then realized what she had said. "What do you mean how did I get here? Where is here?"
"So a guy didn't bring you here?" the blonde asked.
"Uh, no, I was dealing with a psycho named Melissa talking crazy nonsense."
Electra seemed to go on the defensive. "Did she have blonde hair?"
"Melissa? No, she has black hair and blue eyes and recently I just found out she not only worked for Duel Academy Security, but she's also a Templar." She stopped and Electra nodded for her to continue. "She was saying stuff about her brother being kidnapped and what not; I personally wasn't listening and now I'm wherever here is."
"Her brother huh," Electra started. "Remind you of someone with black hair and blue eyes, Dark?"
"Yea, I'm thinking of someone in particular." The male behind her sighed though he seemed to be trying to solve a puzzle.
"Dark?" Regan asked turning to the guy who was attacking her viciously. "What the hell kind of name is that?"
"It's not my whole name." He hissed. "It's Dark Link."
She turned back to Electra, "What the hell is he talking about?"
"Welcome to Hyrule." Electra said sarcastically raising her hands above her head like it was the opening for a TV show. "It should be called Hell-rule after these last few months."
"Months? Wait, wait, wait, you can't possibly tell me I'm actually standing in Hyrule." Regan argued, she took a step back from the horse and her side pulsed. She grabbed it. "There's no way. This has got to be some hoax you set up with someone."
"She doesn't have anyone to set it up with." The male answered darkly. "Face it kid, you're in a different world."
Regan's eyes widened. There was no way, not again with the weird travel destinations. She just got back with her home and her family. And now… "I have to find my brother."
"Brother? You don't have a brother." Electra told her.
"I guess you don't know with how you used to do missions, but I do… and he is in Hyrule someplace along with my friends and boyfriend."
Electra whistled. "You've been busy since you moved to Japan."
"Shut up, I'm being serious!" Regan hissed at her. "I don't know how they will be able to handle being here if the way we got here is through shadow magic. They could be in serious tro- ah!" Regan grasped her wound tighter as her vision was really starting to blur and the corners of her sight were darkening. How much blood has she lost? "They are in trouble if there are monsters running around."
"Well if they have your abilities, I'm sure they'll be fine." The male shrugged. "Whatever it is."
"I'm still not telling you." She replied before her legs gave out from under her. Apparently a lot. At least the ground was comfortable.
"Regan, what happened?!" Electra asked getting off the horse. "Did he stab you?"
"Why do you always blame me?" Dark Link whined.
"Because you're usually the one responsible." Electra snapped up at him.
"It wasn't him, I was shot by Melissa." Regan told her before flashing a grin over at the male. "He couldn't even scratch me."
"I was going easy on you." He grumbled.
"Do you have any potions on you?" Electra asked him.
"We left town before we could get any because you were too hasty to stick around."
"Shit, we are going to have to get you to the nearest spring."
"How far away is that?" Regan asked.
"Not far, Faron Spring is just outside of these woods. Really easy."
"Um, yeah, about that easy trip." Dark Link started. "That might be difficult to accomplish."
Regan took note on how many signatures had shown up in her radar and looked passed Electra to see several Bokoblins that were way more realistic then she remembered. The number she saw was not matching the number that she read. "Dammit, help me up."
"Regan, you can't be moving, you've lost too much blood." Electra told her.
"There's no way you are going to get three of us, on a Belgium horse, through that horde safely."
The horse snorted like it was insulted.
"Hero can run them over."
"And what about the ones in the trees and the ones on the rocks, is your horse suddenly Rainbow Dash?"
"Uh, well… no, but-"
"I got the skulltulas in the trees." Dark Link said as he pulled out a bow. "Dean knew we were going to show up and set up a trap."
"You think?" Electra asked sarcastically. "Regan, you can't fight in your condition, we can take care of them."
"Before or after I bleed out?" Regan challenged. "Just help me up and I'll create a clearing in front of us."
"How are you going to do that?"
"What you don't know about her ability?" Dark Link asked.
"That I think the second time you brought that up, Regan is-"
"Not normal." Regan told her. "Turns out a lot of things happen when you move to Japan. Now help me up or I'm going to help myself and make myself bleed out faster."
Electra looked back at Dark Link and back down at her before sighing. She picked her up and Regan pulled her swords back out. They glowed as she charged them and walked over to the monsters that stood in front of her just waiting for a single movement of engagement. She took a quick count of the monsters, which came to about thirty and charged her swords more. She was going to need a rather large cross attack to get the majority of them, especially the ones on the rocks that held fire arrows. They were all disgusting looking and she was tired of the shit for the day. Dark Link shot down a skulltula that fell into the crowd of monsters taking out two of them and they charged. Regan did a cross attack releasing the two large aura beams and they flew into the monsters. She added a side slash as a few of the monsters didn't get hit by her cross slash and three more skulltulas fell to the ground. She was about to do another one when two different arms picked her up from under her arms and set her on top of the horse as it rode by. Her coat was wrapped around her by Electra as Dark Link rode the horse through the few monsters and out of that part of the forest.
"This next part isn't going to be pleasant as it's rather bumpy and there are a lot of corners." Electra told her. "Also, if you live, you're going to tell me what the fuck that was."
"Maybe…" Regan answered as she winced. Her aura was low and her wound was not helping with any matter. She might have put too much aura in her attack, but it didn't matter. She would recover in that department soon enough. Dying due to blood loss wasn't what she was worried about, if that was the assault that she was welcomed with, what awaited the others as this was the easiest area to deal with.
It wasn't long before they came up to the spring and Regan was placed in it by Dark Link under Electra's request. Instantly she started to feel better and in a matter of minutes the wound was healed and she was refreshed. "Now if I had one of these at home, I wouldn't have needed to be in the medical ward for a few days and a visit a day for a week."
"Yeah well, when you're in a magic land, there needs to be magic pools that heal because of the monsters the land can create." Electra answered as Regan stood up.
She grabbed her sword and swung it around. The aura that came off of it was bright and strong. Unfortunately, Nile still wasn't to be found in the puzzle which scared her a bit. Was it a matter of time that her aura would become unstable without the other half of her aura? If that was the case, she needed to find out where Nile had gone. She swallowed as a disturbing thought came to her. What if Nile was killed when Melissa used the portal gun? It used shadow magic and Regan wasn't drained when she arrived in the forest. Is that why she couldn't sense Nile anymore? She shook her head, she wasn't going to think that. She had to be alive.
"Regan,"
"Eh?" She blinked out of her thoughts.
"I was asking if you were okay." Electra told her.
"Yea, I'm fine… I just hope everyone else is…"
"Well, if we found you here, I'm sure someone else has found your buddies." Dark Link rolled his eyes. "Everyone is probably going to be heading back to Castle Town, it's the safest spot to communicate and as much as I would love to know what your ability is, it can be done on the road. We shouldn't be in one spot if Dean has you targeted."
"Great, another asshole to deal with." Regan sighed. "Fine, I'll talk on the way, at least with a horse I can actually look for them quicker."
"Hyrule Field is large, I doubt we'll see any of them on our way there."
Regan grinned, "I don't need my eyes to find them."
"What are you just going to psychically locate where they are?"
"Something like that," She answered. "It's their auras I'll be seeing first."
"Aura?" Electra and Dark Link asked.
Regan shook her head, "I'll explain on the way."
Electra nodded and Dark Link pulled out an instrument and played a little tune that was a little eerie, but pretty at the same time. Suddenly, a black horse came from around the corner and he jumped on it. He looked down at Regan with a glare. "Don't look at me for a ride, I'm still pissed at you for calling me a fake."
"Well when you think about it-"
"Electra, if you don't control your friend, I will not hesitate to kill her."
"Touch her and you'll regret it." Electra threatened before turning to her. "Ride with me, I'll have to explain a bit as well."
Regan nodded and got on the horse with Electra. This was going to be a fun trip.
