A/N: So I just forced myself to start writing again and I think that it's helped to end the writers block. Also, pretty long chapter today! My goal, as it always is, is to get caught up season wise before the start of the new season. Not gonna happen, but it's always fun setting impossible life goals, right?

I woke up confused. The light coming in through the tent was low, but warm and I couldn't remember much of yesterday. I rubbed my eyes, but felt fabric on my hand. I pulled my hand away and saw the tattered bandage from when I had cut myself hanging pretty loosely off my hand. I had almost forgotten about the cut I got, while making the ladder with Daryl. I pulled off the fabric and saw that the cut had completely scabbed over so I left the bandage off.

I sat up and stretched and tried to think about what had happened before going to sleep. When I felt movement beside me I looked down at Daryl as he rolled in his sleep. That's when I remembered that we had only napped and it was still the same day. I blushed when I realized Daryl still had his pants undone. Daryl could probably use some extra rest so I left him to sleep as I crawled out of the tent. I stretched again looking around the campsite and I saw my mom sitting beside the fire sewing.

I walked over to her and sat down on one of the stumps next to her smiling. She smiled back before handing me a needle and thread. I threaded the needle quickly before grabbing a pair of pants off the top of the pile. It was a small hole in the knee and was quick work. I laid them to the side before grabbing the next pair and as I did a shirt fell off the stack to the ground.

It was the pretty blue shirt I had found on the highway the day Sophia went missing. I dropped the pants and held the shirt tightly. As I stared down at it I became angry. I quickly grabbed the scissors and began cutting the shirt. I then picked the needle back up and began to sewing once again. I had always loved to sew. It had become a necessity when we were unable to afford new clothes and were stuck repairing the old. I found it soothing and became very quick at basic stitches.

I held up what remained of the shirt and was proud of the basic dress shape I had made. I then began to sew shapes onto the dress, pausing every once in a while to re-thread the needle. Soon the dress was covered in same hearts and stars in black thread. I stood and walked over to the Rv. I opened the door and went straight to the back where Sophia's doll rested on the bed. I grabbed it before leaving the trailer.

When I stepped down from the Rv I saw Daryl walking towards me. He had his crossbow across his back and a map on his hand. I stopped where I was and when Daryl got close enough he grabbed the side of my shirt, pulling me against him. He kisses my head before throwing his arm around my shoulders and walking with me back towards my mom.

"Gonna go searchin' again. I think we're gettin' close." He smirked at me before bumping my chin with his fist. "Smile sweetheart."

I beamed up at him before he stuffed the map into his pocket and pulled his crossbow off his back. He pulled me in roughly, kissing me hard and heading off into the woods. I looked after him for a while then turned and headed back to my mom and the sewing. I sat down on my stump and pulled the dress off of the doll. I pulled the new dress I had made onto the doll and looked at it. The dress was a little loose and the hem was uneven but it was cleaner than the old one. It looked better. I had already washed the doll up, but the dress had remained stained with mud. I sat up and sighed, looking around the camp.

"Where is everyone?" I frowned turning to look at my mom.

"Hershel is missing and Beth is in some sort of state after she tried to kill herself." I gaped at her.

"How long were we asleep?" She smiled at me.

"Just a few hours, but everything fell apart very quickly." I smiled and held out the doll to her. She took it from me rubbing the dress with her thumbs before she looked up at me smiling. Her eyes were red and watery.

"It's perfect." She then stood up and walked slowly to the Rv. I knew she would probably stay there the rest of the night, maybe she would come out for dinner.

I picked up the pair of pants I had left before starting to sew again. I worked diligently until a car started up the driveway. I watched as Rick and Glenn got out and went to to the trunk as Hershel went into the house. My mouth dropped when Rick and Glenn pulled a man out of the car half dragging, half carrying him to the barn. I continued to watch as Shane approaches them and began arguing with Rick as they watched.

When they entered the barn I turned back to my sewing and thought about what could be going on. I kept working while glancing towards the barn every few minutes. After a while I saw Rick come out of the barn and start walking towards camp. I turned away and focused on my sewing when I heard him coming up behind me. Rick crouched down next to me and put his hand on my back.

"Do you know where Daryl is?" I turned and looked at him before shaking my head. He nodded before rubbing my back and standing. He turned to leave, so I quickly stood up and followed him.

"Rick, what's going on?" He turned back to me and came close.

"Nothin' is wrong. We found this kid in town and he was hurt so we brought him back." He smiled at me. "He could be dangerous so we're keeping him in the barn until we know, OK?" I smiled at him and nodded.

"We don't want everyone gettin' in a panic, so keep this to yourself, please. Just until I can explain to everyone." I nodded again before going back to my stump and patching. I looked up and saw Rick watching me. I smiled at him and he returned it before turning and leaving.

I kept working on all the clothes that needed mending before starting to get things ready for dinner. I don't know how much time had passed when everything broke down. It seemed like everyone was running and shouting, but I couldn't figure out what was going on. I looked around quickly, but I couldn't see any walkers. Finally I spotted Daryl coming from the woods. He was moving pretty quickly considering the large bundle he was carrying.

I started towards him just like the rest of the group had and when he saw me coming he stopped. I kept walking towards him confused and as I got closer I realized the rest of the group had stopped walking. I turned to look back briefly and saw everyone staring at me. I frowned and kept moving towards Daryl. When I was a few steps away, he looked at me pained before kneeling and laying the bundle at his feet. He stayed crouched as he looked up at me. With his burden laid out on the ground it became obvious what it was.

The blanket pulled taught around the shape of a small body.

I gasped and kneeled down. I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes as I looked frantically at the blanket. I reached for the end that covered the head, but Daryl's hand quickly pinned down the blanket. I stayed motionless my hand held out and shaking.

"Sweetheart…" I could hear the pain in Daryl's voice as he addressed me.

"No..." I could barely hear myself. "No, no, NO, NO!" I stood up and glared at Daryl. He stood and moved around the bundle. He walked close to me and reached out. I slapped his hand away. "NO! You promised! You said everything would be fine! YOU PROMISED ME WE'D FIND HER!"

I moved towards Daryl and started beating on his chest as I screamed at him. He tried to still my hands, but I kept twisting out of his grasp. Finally I shoved him out of the way before running out towards the woods. As I ran I could hear my mother as she discovered what had been brought back to camp. I kept running.

I ran into the woods until I came to a small clearing. My breathing was rough and ragged. I picked up a large branch and swung it at one of the trees. The crack of wood on wood was loud and echoed through the forest. I continued beating on the trees within arms reaching swinging harder and harder as I started to scream. Pieces of bark and splinters off the broken branch flew in every direction. I whirled around to swing at another tree when I felt my foot catch in a root.

I threw the branch away as I fell, but couldn't break my fall and landed hard on my side. I felt arms pull me to a chest and I immediately started pushing away. I looked up to tell Daryl to leave me alone, when I saw the unmistakable milky eyes. I screamed before pushing back harder and using one arm to keep to walker away as it snarled at me, I searched the ground with the other.

I could feel a rock with the tips of my fingers and I stretched as much as I could before I laid back taking the walker with me. On my back on the ground I could reach the stone and I gripped it tightly before swinging it into the side of the walkers head. The corpse fell to the side still snarling so, I quickly rolled over propping myself up with my free hand as I brought the rock up over my head. I brought the rock down again and again into the walker's face like I was driving a stake into the ground.

As I brought the rock up again I felt a hand wrap around my wrist. I turned my head quickly and it wasn't until I saw saw Rick's blurry figure that I realized I was crying. He pried the rock out of my hand, dropping it to the ground, before he kneeled next to me. I could tell he was talking to me, but I couldn't hear him as he ran his hands up and down my arms. He took my shoulders and started shaking me.

"...Anna! Are you OK did it bite you? Scratch you?" I slowly shook my head as I broke down into sobs. My vision got worse as tears streamed down my face. "It's alright come on honey, stand up."

I let Rick guide me into a standing position, but when I tried to put weight on my foot I fell forward onto his chest. He wrapped his arm around me as he tried to help me walk, but I couldn't make my legs work. He wrapped both arms around me before picking me up. My legs fell limply on each side of his body, like a parent carries his child and I laid my head down into his shoulder as I sobbed. Rick rubbed my back while he walked and i gripped the back of his shirt tightly in my fists. I don't know how long it took, but the next thing I knew he was laying me down on a sleeping bag in a tent.

He kept talking to me in a soothing tone as he untied my shoes and pulled them off. He felt around my injured ankle before gently wrapping it up in some clean rags. He set my foot down before moving a box of tissues up by my head, running his hand over my hair before he withdrew from the tent and zipped the door shut. I rolled onto my side and curled into a ball, as I slowly became aware of the pain in my ankle.
